Calendars won't sync.... tried everything!

Hi all,
New to posting so forgive me if this has been posted, but I've had a good look and can't find an answer! The problem is syncing my iPhone with my Calendars - it just won't happen.
Tried Resetting Sync History, Removing Computers from .Mac and Re-registering, deleted all iCal Prefs and library items, backup and exported calenders and re-imported etc. And lastly re-installed 10.5 then updated to .3 then .4 nothing! Really frustrating this..... Also noticed Apple Mobile Sync running at 90-100% of CPU... Any help would be great - pulling hair out here in the UK

I have the same issues... iPhone and MBP have all the latest updates, etc. iCal synching used to work, but stopped at some point in January. I have tried all suggestions mentioned in these forums, including merging a new account...
I am stunned that Apple can't get this right.
The closest I've gotten to making this work is a dialog box popping up during synching warning of major changes to iCal; I say ok, but nothing is importing.

  • Ipad won't sync, tried everything

After installing IOS 7 AND the latest version of iTunes, my iPad stopped syncing with my computer. I get the "Your iPad did not sync because the sync session failed to start" message. I also get a "A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes. (142404)" message when initially starting iTunes. I have tried:
    - resetting Ipad
    - resetting Ipad to factory settings
    - reinstalling Itunes
    - installing an older version of iTunes
    - Anti-virus/ anti-spyware scans using several programs
    - Pulling out strands of my hair
Two more things of note: 1. I am able to sync my old 2nd generation iPod Nano with no issues. 2. Using a program called SyncIOS also will not sync with the iPad.
I am running Windows 7 Professional on my laptop with all updates installed.
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • NANO WON'T SYNC - TRIED EVERYTHING!

Hi, all. I have a Nano that has many songs on it. My computer crashed, and I had to download the new iTunes, so I lost all my songs on my hard drive and have no backup. I know, I know - it was stupid. So now I have all the songs on the ipod and also have about 20 that I purchased that aren't on my ipod but are on the new itunes hard drive. I tried downloading the newest version of itunes and then performing the sync. I made sure my new version was authorized, which is how the purchased songs ended up on there. I tried going through all the steps on the article for the person that transferred their songs to a new computer. Nothing works. It'll sit for an hour saying it is going to sync but nothing swaps from ipod to itunes or vice versa. Any other suggestions? I've been trying for a week and am quite an experienced computer user and still can't figure it out!

    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2).
There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), there's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
The above methods may depend on what version of iTunes you are running.
If none of these methods work, try CopyPod.

  • Contacts and Calendar won't sync with Outlook

It seems that ever since the last upgrade to iTunes (8.1.1) my contacts and calendar won't sync.
I've tried all the steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692 up to and including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes but, nothing has worked.
    Any help would be appreciated.

The contacts and calendar do sync into another user account but _only some of the records_.
ZoneAlarm. And there is no difference whether it is running or not.
    One odd thing:
In order to try to find which record(s) might be causing the problem I sorted my calendar on the "Date Created" field hoping to be able to go back in history and see exactly when things went wrong. Much to my surprise I found that the 13 most recent records did not sync to my iPhone. Then the next 2 did. Then the next 3 did not. Then 1 did. etc.

  • My Outlook calendar won't sync with my ipod touch and vice versa.  Wherever I input the info is where it stays. Contacts and notes sync but not calendar.

My iPod Calendar won't sync with my Outlook Calendar and vice versa.  Wherever I input the information is where it stays.  My contacts and notes sync just fine.  Please help.  Very frustrated.  It used to work just fine.  I just upgraded to iTunes 10.2 version.

I have the same problem since I updated to iTunes 10.2 Sue (I think). For me this was somewhere in January.
I wasn't sure iTunes was the issue, until I read your post. I tested syncing a note, and that works fine.
My 2nd generation Ipod Touch runs on IOS 4.2.1. It won't upgrade to 4.3.
Possibly the synchonisation between iTunes 10.2 and IOS 4.2.1 doesn't work correctly.
Has somebody else solved this isue? I use both calendars (on iPod Touch and on PC) for work and private matters.
Otherwise I have to uninstall iTunes 10.2 and downgrade to 10.2.

  • 10.1.0.4181 won't stop trying to load, and now the Calendar won't sync

Hello, my Q10 upgraded to 10.1.0.4181.
    1) BB Link trying to upgrade and it's already done.  I turned off the auto upgrade but that hasn't fixed it.
    2) Now my local Calendar entries won't sync to Outlook. I restored from the backup taken just before the upgrade, but still no calendar entries.  I don't want to put my private info on the cloud.
I've read other threads on issues with 10.1.0.4181 but haven't seen anything on how to fix my device.  Any suggestions?

  • Yosemite Calendar Won't Sync

Since installing Yosemite, my iCal simply won't sync with the Exchange server.  When I try I get endless error messages about being unable to save the entry to the server reverting to the server entry.  Strange because the entry is ON the server and I didn't even try to make a change to it in the first **** place.  So I got tired of it and simply disconnected the calendar from the Exchange in System Preference.  I don't have time to troubleshoot every error in Yosemite since I don't actually work for Apple.  I could remove the Exchange server and "reinstall" it, but I have enough of a hard time keeping other stuff working and since Mail is sort of working, I don't want to screw that up.  So now I put events on my calendar with my iPad or Blackberry (yep no iPhone here NSA, sorry).
I read on MILO group (if you are an attorney trying to use a Mac in your practice, this group is a must) that the only way to go with Yosemite is simply to wipe and fresh install or else it just wears you down over time with all the little things that slow down/mess up your computer.  I just hate to have to go through installing all the apps and preferences all over again, so I will live it it.
After years of bragging about how the mac OS is virus free, secure, and is bulletproof, I'm sure eating a lot of crow.  At least Microsoft's latest OS is equally horrific (but those live tiles are starting to grow on me).

i just now updated to 8.1.2 and then tried syncing my iphone 6 plus and it hangs at step 2 calendars…im on os x 10.8.5,  itunes 12.0.1.26…will reboot everything again in the morning and see if issue goes away

  • I downloaded the latest update on my MacBook Pro. Now I keep getting a pop-up that iCloud wants my password from an email login I haven't had in a year. Now the calendar won't sync with my iPhone5.

I downloaded the latest update on my MacBook Pro last week. Now I keep getting a pop-up that iCloud wants my password from an email login I haven't had in a year. I can't find where to delete that email login.  iCloud is also showing my new email login, plus a bogus one I accidentally created trying to fix this problem. Now the calendar on my MacBook Pro won't sync with my iPhone5.

It sounds like you have the Find my iphone Activation lock for sure. Go to www.icloud.com/find and see if you put in that Apple ID that is coming up and yoru password to see if you are able to sign into the account that way to turn it off. If you are unable to, you will have to contact AppleCare by phone (chat cannot handle account lock outs or forgotten password due to not being able to verify your identity) and see if they can reset it. And are you sure the Apple ID that is coming up yours?

  • Another "my contacts & calendars won't sync" guy

My iPhone was bogged down and doing some strange things so I decided I'd reset it in an attempt to refresh things. After resetting it, my contacts and calendars will not sync over the air with Mobile Me. (Mail and bookmarks are fine)
I can switch them off in Mobile Me on the phone and they'll sync fine over the cable, but of course they won't update until the next cable sync.
I've tried deleting the Mobile Me account from the phone and building it again but this did not fix anything.
I've scoured many posts in this forum and found several people suffering a similar type of problem but no one has the definitive fix.
    Any more ideas?

Since you've already performed the most drastic step in this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1672
    10. Delete the account from your iPhone or iPod touch. From the home screen, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars, and then tap your MobileMe account. Tap Delete Account. On the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars screen, tap Add Account > MobileMe, and set up your account again.

  • Calendar won't sync & can't get mail

When I connect with the computer to sync calendars it used to work. Now it isn't syncing.
I haven't been able to receive mail. The wheel at the bottom spins and says "connecting," but nothing happens.
The troubles began after the switch to mobile me. If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it! Thanks.

Try removing all the extra applications from the phone. The only ones you want to have are the default apps on the home page. I tried everything, and this is the only thing that worked.

  • Exchange Calendar Won't Sync, Email & Contacts Sync Fine

I have a new 3GS and I set it up on my company Exchange server. Mail syncs fine. Contacts sync fine. My Calendar, however, won't sync to the phone at all. Not one single event. I've turned sync off and then back on, no luck. I've reset the phone, no joy. I've cleaned up all my old recurring appointments thinking maybe that would be the fix, nope. So far nothing I have tried will get the Calendar items to sync. What would allow the mail and contacts to sync just fine but prevent the calendar from working? Thanks!

I finally resolved this issue. I opened the calendar in outlook on my PC. I went to View>Current View>Categories. I expanded the list (click on the little "+" sign to expand) and then deleted EVERY entry. Some were current, but most were expired, and some went back to 2007. As soon as I deleted all of these entries, that basically wiped my Exchange calendar clean. There had to have been some corrupt entries in their that were preventing calendar sync, because once I cleared out all the entries, I sent myself a meeting request and it showed up instantly on the iPhone. All is right in the world again. Hope this helps others with the same problem.

  • My iphone calendar won't sync with icloud

I just set up iCloud for the first time.  Everything seems to be working however the calendar on my iPhone 3GS (w IOS 5.0.1 update) calendar is not syncing with iCloud.  What am i doing wrong?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
When you say it won't sync with iCloud, do you mean with iCloud.com or iCloud on a mac.
