Calender in Zen Mi

I was wondering how you can edit your calender in your creative zen micro. I have read that you can do it, but I'm not sure how. Are there any tutorials, or can anyone guide me on how to go about doing it.Message Edited by -Chris- on 0-30-2006 2:56 AM

I'm actually having a bit of difficulty putting any Organizer Data on my MicroPhoto.
I am not synching with Outlook, rather, I am trying to enter the data in my Media Explorer. I enter the data and be sure to click "add". It claims that it updates it on the device, but it never appears on the device.
The information is indeed saved in the Media Explorer, but never gets saved to the device. What am I missing here?
Any help would be appreciated.

  • Deleting Calender and Tasks from Zen Mi

<SPAN class=postbody>I want to delete some things in my calender/tasks in my Zen Micro. I deleted them off my Outlook already but when I tried to sync it, it doesn't detect that I deleted those items. So my question is how I can clear my tasks list in my Zen Micro.<SPAN class=gensmall>

Agreed - and something should be removed from the organizer menus too.
I mean what is the point of having a volume level for a calendar item ? Huh ?
    What's <EM>that </EM>about ?

  • Zen Micro taking calender no

I bought a Zen Micro and with the exception of no AC charger and no good instructions, I like it. However when I access my calender I have no idea how I put notes for a certain day. Please help.

The applications for modifying the Micro's calendar (either by direct entry or by sync with Microsoft Outlook) are installed with Zen Micro Media Explorer. If they aren't available in your ZMME, download the "Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update" from your local Creative site.

  • How can I show my appointments directly on my home screen without changing the layout to "today" and keeping it at "zen"?

I would really like to keep my home screen with all of my applications lined up at the bottom but I would also like my current appointments (my appointments for the day from my calendar) to shop up as well. Is there a way this can happen?
If the only option is switching themes from "zen" to "today" is there a way I can choose what is listed on the "today" one, for example instead of call log have bbm.
Ideally, I would like to keep the home screen the way it is now with the calendar addition.
    Thank you,
    Margot

    Hi
    Which model do you have?
Which OS? Go to Options > About, it looks like v5.0.0.681
Are you using the calender that came pre-loaded?
With the basic theme, you get the 6 choices only at the bottom of the screen. It sounds to me as if you you need some sort of calender them that would permit more icons. Have a look on App World

  • Zen Micro Photo bugs need to be worked out - firmware update comi

    Hi,
I've had my Zen Micro Photo 8gb for a month & have discovered some interesting quirks: first, I don't believe mine is defecti've, though I've had problems. I have encountered freezing on both the "Zen Microphoto" logo and "rebuilding library" screen; I scoured this forum and the Knowledge Base for answers, trying all that seemed applicable?- I tried disk cleanup and reboot (leading to rebuilding library freezes), reformats & carefully reloading the latest firmware?a couple of times. I've drawn some conclusions:?) Mediasource software is not working for me; when I switched to using only Windows Media , most problems went away.2) For whatever reason, "rebuilding library" can only be accomplished while my Zen is connected to the computer - should this be the case?3) It seems like the times my screen freezes on the "Zen Microphoto" logo I may have held the "on" switch to the side a little longer than necessary; I'm wondering if this is happening because I'm holding the switch on a little too long?Anyway, I love the size, look and sound of this player, so I hope to keep using it. NOTE: can anyone from CREATIVE tell me if there will be future firmware updates? Thanks

  • Zen Micro Organi

I have a Zen micro with firmware 2.00.2 and I am using Zen Micro Media Explorer .00.
I loaded some tasks and calender events onto my player from outlook just to see if it worked. It did 8)
The problem I am having is removing the tasks and calender events.
If I delete them from outlook and resync my player (one way from PC to player), they remain on my player.
The official support knowledge base said that I sould be able to go to 'transfer data between PC and device' function of the Media Explorer program and then click on 'settings' icon, then 'clean up organizer'. Unfortunately, there is no such option in my settings.
    Any ideas?

I would suggest upgrading your current version of Zen Micro Media Explorer. I have version 4.00.03. You can get it by clicking Support > Downloads on the main siteMessage Edited by njlx06 on 05-04-2005 :2 PM

  • Zen Microphoto with Microsoft 2000

Unfortunately I got a Zen Microphoto but my PC is running on Microsoft 2000.
The only computer I have is a computer from my office (laptop) and by some reasons it is running on Microsoft 2000 (Professional version 5.0 Service Pack 4) and there is no plan to upgrate it to XP.
It seems that Zen Microphoto require XP when I am running the installation. Is there any way to go around the problem??
I can store music in MP3 and the problem how to move the files to the ZEN
    BRChris

Im also quite sad, that the zen microphoto dossent work on windows 2000,
my work computer is also running windows 2000, and it lealy bugs me that i cant sync my calender with the zen.
creative should make a firmware, where windows 2000 is supportet. i like the MTP, i can se its the way of the future, but i realy think that creative should realize that windows 2000 still run on meany computers,
i realy like the zen mircophoto, but if i knew that it wassent supportet under windows 2000, i dont think i would have baught it. and do creative even realize that its not supportet ? if you look under the windows 2000 downloads in the creative support site, it says.
    Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 (<FONT color=#222222 size=><B>52.2 MB</B>)
    <EM>Requirements:</EM>
Microsoft? Windows? XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows Millennium Edition or Windows 98 Second Edition
Creative audio device or portable music player</LI>
and let me say... you have no chance to install this download under windows 2000, becaus it requires that the computer can se the device, and the device cant be seen without MTP.
so to install this pakage on even windows xp, you need media player 0.
This is just not right !

  • Problems connecting Creative Zen to

Both of my kids have Creative Zen's which were purchased as gifts in the USA.
When connected to the PC they are not being recongnised.
They do not show up as docked and are not seen by eithe the Creative Media Exploer or Windows Media Player.
They are recognised as new hardware when I plug them in but that's about all. If I try to sync them I get a message saying the player is not found.
Both players worked on a lap top a week ago. But will not work now on our home PC and I no longe3r have access to the laptop to determine if they still connect via it.
Any ideas on what could be cuasing this or how to resolve it's

    Hi,
I also have a Zen Micro..the same thing happened to me and what I did was I Un-Installed all the creative software and drivers from my computer and re-installed them... It worked for me so it might work for your kids!
Also if you want an easier way to add contacts and use the calender features download this softwareentitled Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update and dated 3 July 2005(you can get it here ---> http://ca.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp)

  • ZEN TOUCH OR MICRO

after i decided to buy an mp3 player i did a ton of research and looking around for the best one to get. i narrowed it down to either the zen touch or the micro. i can them both for about the same price at about 220. now i cant decide after reading a TON of reviews. if anyone who has one (or both) could give me some advice on the subject it would be appreciated. thanx
    TheThing

Not to state the obvious, but it really depends upon how large your music collections is and/or how much music you want to be able to carry around with you at any one time. (Okay, so I did state the obvious). In my opinion, most of the other things that the micro has but the Touch doesn't are trivial and/or incidental. For how many people is it crucial that their MP3 player has a calender? The only exception to this is dri've letter support, which the Micro has but the Touch doesn't. It would make more sense for a larger capacity player such as the Touch to offer dri've letter supoort than a smaller capacity player such as the Micro, but alas for some reason Creative hasn't seen it that way.
To put in a positi've word for the Touch, I absolutely love it, and I don't think it is as bulky as many people make it out to be. It fits nicely in the hand or pocket (though probably not the shirt pocket), it feels solid, and it really isn't all that heavy. It also has two important functional things that the micro doesn't have. Most important is the dedicated volume button, which allows you to control the volume when the player is in your pocket. In my opinion, this isn't a minor detail. I think it would be a huge pain in the butt to have to pull out the player and navigate through menus every time you wanted to adjust the volume. I don't know about anybody else, but I am constantly adjusting the volume when I listen to anything on headphones, especially earbuds. Second, the Touch has an actual "OK" button, which allows the user to disable the "tap to select" feature. Many folks seem to find the touch pad easier to use when this feature is disabled.
For me, someone who owns well over 000 Cds, there is something wonderful about being able to carry around a significant portion of your record collection in your pocket. Also, I feel much more free to rip Cds at higher bitrates with my Touch, since I have so much more space. Which gets back to my first point.

  • Creative Zen Touch Applicati

I was wondering if anyone has comeup with any applications, like those found on the zen mini's, such as the calender, address book, and clock. I figured someone would make apps for it, being that the zen can hold files, and that the fm tuner remote actually installs a file which allows fm listening, voice recording and playback.... just wondering.

I guess due to the way the firmware works no-one has been able to do this, there have not been any hacks or 3rd party firmware for any of the players. There are many requests for Creative to make the firmware open source, but for very obvious reasons they can't do this (at least in its current format).
The original Nomad Jukebox had the most "community" based development, as one of the development liaisons used to post on the Nomadness.net forums, which was really great. At that time there was talk of developing games for the NJB but they wanted people from the community to do it. Unfortunately no-one seemed interested and the project seemed to die (and NJB firmware development has stopped now anyway).

  • Creative Zen Micro Quest

I have a white 5 gig Zen Micro and i love it but...............can someone please tell me how you synch up with Microsoft Outlook.... so that i can use the calender, contacts, and to-do-list features...........also, i've tried going throught the zen micro media explorer but it always tells me the device is connected, although it is, why does this happen and does it have anything to do with me using the latest firmaware (Creative Zen Micro *PlaysForSure/MTP Firmware 2.00.2 )...........help is appreciated.
    Thank you.

    big_d5,
If you had update the MTP firmware for the player, you will also need to update the Zen Micro Media Explorer to support the MTP version. Go to the driver page and look for this Zen Micro Media Explorer .00. for Creative Zen Micro (Software Update Package for Zen Micro Players with *PlaysForSure/MTP Firmware).

  • Zen Micro and PPC confli

    Hi,
Just recently acquired a Zen Micro 5GB. I've just finished updating the firmware to the latest PlayForSure install, installing all the updated software, and loaded my music on to it. Then I encountered a strange problem. I wanted to download my Calender and Contacts information from Outlook 2000 to my Zen Micro as a backup calender. I carry a Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC most of the time, and use it for scheduling and things like that. So, I dropped my PPC in it's cradle to sync my calender over to the desktop. Then I tried to connect my Zen Micro, with the Pocket PC still in it's cradle. Media Explorer couldn't find the device until I undocked my Pocket PC. Every other application (MediaSource, Napster, Musicmatch, Media Player 0) saw the Micro just fine with my PPC docked.
It's not a huge deal since undocking the PPC fixes it, but is there anyway to dock the Zen and my Pocket PC at the same time? I suspect the problem is in Windows XP itself, since I noticed that both my Pocket PC and the Zen Micro Explorer both fall under the "Other" category in My Computer. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered similar problems.
Hmmm......*wonders if he can sync his Calendar to Zen via Acti'veSync*.....

Try using MSCONFIG to reboot in a diagnostic startup. This should only load the basic software.

  • Zen Micro Photo firmware 1_20

Hi, i have some problems upgrading from my current firmware .0.0 "Zen Micro Photo"
to the firmware .20.0, i have downloaded the program that sould upgrade the firmware.
    and i followed the instructions,
Download the ZenMicroPhotoP4S_PCFW_LB__20_0.exe file into your local hard disk.
Connect your player to your computer.
Double-click the firmware update file and follow the instructions on the screen.</LI>
    easy right ?
well it wont work when i double-click on the firmware upgrade file, it starts the program, and i can se that my zen micro photo, goes out of docked mode, and then the upgrade program tells me this message: Your player is not connected, please connect your player.
and let me tell you.. my zen microphoto works just fine accept this firmware stuff.
the only thing that also bugs me, is that the MTP dossent work under win2000, my work computer runs 2k, oh and why cant it just recharge when my computer is closed. theres 5v DC output on the USB anyways. why does it need the software to recharge ?
? Its all greek to me ! ?
