Calender on iPhone 4 sync question

I have a number of entries stored on the Calender app that comes on the iPhone. I was wondering, are the various calender entries backed up by iTunes everytime I sync the iPhone. If they are where on the PC are they stored (its just I like to backup important stuff like this, iTunes library etc, in case something goes wrong so that I then have a backup to fall back on).
If the various calender entries I have are not backed up has part of the sync in iTunes. Is it possible to have these backed up by some other method.
Thanks in advance

two things in response to syncing your iPhone:
The first and to answer your question... when you go to sync (can't recall the exact verbiage), but you'll be asked if you want to back up your iPhone at some point prior to your sych... may be one of the radio dial circles in the box where your asked about encrypting your backups(?)... regardless, when you sync a backup of your iPhone occurs, prior to your sync, or visa versa. Should you ever need to do a Restore on your phone, a drop down window is available to you to select which backup you want to use... you make your selection based on the dates shown and go for it. (use caution if you fear having some form of bug on your iPhone since the backup will only bring the bug back over to you. In that case you should do a restore to a New Phone status.
Next, should you be syncing to a Mac computer... i've found that even tho I have requested (chk'd) a Calendar sync, it doesn't always sync the iPhone and iCal calendars... whereas I have to open iCal on my MacBook Pro, then go only to the Info Tab in iTunes and select Sync for Calendars, etc. Then hit the "Sync" key. IT was like that for the past few iP3G updates the past 2-yrs and not unique to iP4 which I have

  • Outlook Calender and iphone sync not working properly (windows 7 os)

I try to sync through itunes and contacts work fine, but the calender only comes through partially. Single events work fine, but events (on outlook) which extend more than a day are completely ignored by itunes sync and don't show up on the iphone calender.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Alright... I think I have worked this out.
Clearing history alone was not enough. I had to clear the history THEN reboot the phone.  My events seem to be coming though now. Interesting though... on events coming from iphone to outlook the right click mouse menu is disabled. If I want to delete, edit or alter that event in outlook I have to left click and actually open it.

  • "Not Listend To Recently" iTunes to iPhone Sync Question/Problem

    iPhone 3G w/3.0, iTunes 8.2, Windows Vista
I searched the FAQ and the posts, I see others ask similar question, but not a clear answer yet.
I have a number of Podcasts that I listen to daily, on my iPhone, NEVER on my computer. I regularly get the little ! saying this podcast will not update because you have not listend to it recently. HOW do I get my computer to recognize/sync the fact that I HAVE listened to the podcast recently?
According to the docs, the computer and phone will keep track of where you are in the podcast. The blue dots are always on my iTunes Podcasts.
    Thanks in Advance.

There is an increasingly common problem where listens on the iPod (and it may well apply to the iPhone as well) are not being updated back to iTunes upon syncing.
Is that the problem you are experiencing? If so, FYI there has been no solution yet. The only remedy, which I found by accident, is to reboot the iTunes machine before syncing the iPod. A pain I know, but give it a try.

  • Multiple iPhones Syncing Questions

My husband and I both have iPhones. How do we go about keeping our stuff downloaded separate? i.e. I purchased apps he doesn't use and he purchased apps I don't use, but when we sync, his apps go on my phone as well as my apps go on his phone. The major problem with this is when his apps get installed on my phone, if I try deleting, I get an error message that I can not delete because I don't own the app. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I mean, is there a way to show 2 separate accounts and info in iTunes? Does it ALL have to show up in iTunes?

My wife and I each have our own logins on the computer, and therefore, our own iTunes libraries. We both purchase and download apps using the same Apple ID. I can transfer apps she downloads from her iTunes library into my library, then sync them to my phone, or vice versa. I don't have to keep all of the apps in both libraries, but for those apps that are in both that either one of us does not want sync'd to our phones, then we just uncheck those individual apps in the sync settings for our phones.
Not sure how iTunes works on a PC, but on Macs, each login on the Mac automatically gets its own iTunes library, so it is very easy that way to keep things separate.
If each person has their own Apple ID for purchasing apps, that might make it hard to share the apps between the two phones, but having separate iTunes libraries should prevent one persons apps from automatically syncing to the other persons phone.

  • Mail sync question for iPhone & Macbook

Does iphone sync with mail on the macbook, to delete messages that are unwanted? or do i have to essentially handle those twice, once when viewing mail on my phone, and then again when I am on my computer?

The phone itself does not sync mail at all, just the settings for the accounts.
If you set up the account as IMAP, then deleting on the phone will delete from the server, which will mirror to the macbook (or however IMAP works).
If you set up the account as POP, then you'll have to handle each email twice.

  • Two iPhones, One iMac - Sync Question

I am about to have a household with two iPhones (me and my wife) but just one iMac. On my Mac I don't have separate accounts set up. We both use the same account. She rarely gets on it so I didn't see a need to create another account for her.
So is it possible to have separate calendars and address book for both phones, under just one account? Or do I have to create a separate account for my wife in order to do this? I would rather not if at all possible.
    Thanks.

You can do this with one computer login account.
You can create an Address Book Group for your wife's contacts, which she can select only via her iPhone sync preferences for syncing with her iPhone, but your wife's contacts will be available in your Address Book. If you sync all contact information and all Address Book Groups available in your Address Book for your iPhone sync preferences, you will have your wife's contacts on your iPhone as well as your contacts. You can do the same - create an Address Book Group for your contacts only, and then sync this Group only with your iPhone.
The same applies to iCal calendars. There is an option to sync select calendars, or all calendars.

  • Syncing Question for iPhone 4S

I have a fairly large number of songs in my itunes library and on my phone that I don't actually want. Recently, I started deleting songs from my phone if I didn't want them. If I sync my iTunes with my iPhone, will the songs I deleted from my phone also be deleted from my iTunes library? Or will they be restored? I want them to be permanently deleted without having to delete from both iTunes and iPhone individually.
    Thanks!

No data in your iTunes library will ever be deleted when syncing.
The songs you deleted from your iPhone should be deselected from being transferred to your iPhone with the following sync.
And you don't have to delete songs from your iTunes library to be removed from your iPhone. There are a number of options in regards to music for transferring select content from your iTunes library to your iPhone. You can make use of an iTunes playlist or multuple playlists. Choose selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Select the iTunes playlist or playlists in the Playlists window followed by a sync and/or select the albums, artists, or genres you want transferred followed by a sync. To remove a song or playlist, album, or genre from your iPhone, deselect the playist, album, or genre under the Music tab followed by a sync. Or remove select songs from a selected playlist in iTunes followed by a sync. Or you can select sync only checked songs and videos under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by deselecting or unchecking the songs in your iTunes library you want removed from your iPhone followed by a sync.
You have a myriad of available options in regards to transferring and removing music from your iPhone without having to touch your iTunes library in regards to deleting content, etc.

  • Clean install on Mac ... what happens to iPhone syncing?

I want to do a clean install of Snow Leopard on my Mac, and obviously this means getting rid of the 'computer' which my iPhone syncs with.
I have Time Machine back ups so can restore my User account to the laptop after the new install is done. If I do this, will my iPhone see the computer as the same and sync as though I had never done a clean install? If not, how do I get around this?
I want to restore from Time Machine my non-iTunes purchased music, so I kind of need to restore my user account, but I don't want any app data on my iPhone to be overwritten ...
Or put it this way, what's the best way to ensure that you don't lose any app data when you do a clean install of Snow Leopard and want to continue syncing?

    hi Dyne,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
The Lenovo G570 is preloaded with MS Office 2010. If you bought a copy of MS Office when you purchased the computer, you should receive a product key card that contains the 25 digit product key. If you purchased it at a store, the product key should be located on the packaging. If you purchased it online, the product key should be sent to your email along with a download link for the MS Office application.
Check this product key card FAQs and check this guide on how to activate your copy of MS Office.
    Hope this helps

  • ITune's info tab incorrectly states my iPhone syncs with mobileme

I recently purchased a macbook, and whilst I was successful in transferring my music files to my new mac, I am afraid that my calenders and contacts are not currently backed up somewhere.
My iTunes program states (incorrectly) that my contacts and calender information is sync'ed over the air with MobileMe and that this information can be changed from my iPhone.
Whilst I had a MobileMe account in the past, I have since cancelled this. I also do not have a MobileMe account listed on my iPhone.
Ideally the solution that I would like is: To transfer my contact information and calender information currently on my iPhone to my Mac, and thereafter for these two to be kept in sync.
    Is this possible?

    Hello ygdy,
    Welcome to the Discussions Boards.
There are a few things you can try. First is powering off the iPhone (not just putting it to sleep).
You can reset sync history on the Mac:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
You might also be able to resolve the issue by force quitting the mail application on the iPhone by opening mail and then holding down the home button until the iPhone screen resets to the home page (this may take 10-15 seconds).
Last, the issue may be resolved by removing all mail accounts from Mail, Contacts and calendars (after noting the settings for each email account) and then syncing.
    Take care,
    Charles H.

  • How to sync Address book with iphone on 10.5, while iphone synced with iCloud?

My mac runs leopard 10.5.8. Meanwhile iPhone is updated to 5.1. and synced with iCloud. As we know, OS X 10.5 can not be synced with iCloud. How to sync Address book with iphone? My Address Book on my mac has almost all contacts that can be found on my iPhone. Even with pictures from FB and extra info such as twitter accounts, etc.
The question is - how can I manage my contacts? Now I have added several new entries to my iPhone, but they won't appear on mac's address book. In iTunes the contacts sync box is unchecked due to the fact that iPhone syncs with iCloud. But then I'm wondering where did Address Book get all the contact updates that were made on iPhone?
I'd like to control this whole thing. And is there such thing as one data base, that could used by all devices and would change entries on all of them, if I change or add something on my iPhone?
Or I just have to get Lion and let the iCloud do the magic?
    Thanks,
    Lauris

I just synced my new iPhone (iOS 5.0.1) with the Address Book on my Mac which runs 10.5.8 and iTunes 10.5.2. I launched iTunes and then I connected the iPhone to the Mac. It appeared on the DEVICES list in the left column in iTunes. I selected it and then the Summary screen appeared in the right part of the iTunes window.
In the Backup section of the Summary you can choose whether to 'Back up to iCloud' or 'Back up to this computer'. Even if you have 'Back up to iCloud' selected, there is a 'Sync' button in the bottom right hand corner of the iTUnes window where you can manually initiate a sync with the Mac.
    Hope this helps,
    Dave

  • Can more than 1 iphone sync with itunes?

can more than 1 iphone sync with itunes?

    mbraase wrote:
    This isn't a problem, but a question.
    1. Can you sync your iphone with remote to more than one itunes library (such as itunes on 2 different computers)?
Yes you can sync with more than one iTunes Library. I just did it today with the library on my Mac and PC
    if so then...
    2. Does the itunes have to be maximized for the remote function to work, or can it be minimized on the task bar at the bottom?
On my mac I can play the songs with iTunes minimized.
The reason why, is I want to sync my iphone with my mother's computer at her house, and put some sound effects on her library. Then I want to turn her itunes on and minimize it and wait until she starts working on her pc and then I can play some practical jokes on her making her computer make weird noises (sound effects on itunes).
Any answers would be appreciated by me (but not my mother).
Thanks, and happy pranking to you all

  • Outlook Calender to iPhone via USB Drive

I need a little help. I want to move my work outlook calender events, things I have scheduled while at work all day, to my personal iPhone however I can't bring my iPhone into my work space. In what format do I save my outlook calender and how do I import the contacts to my iPhone. I used my thumb drive once and it worked but I can't replicate what I did the last time.
    Thanks in advance,

What are your export or backup options with Outlook for all data or just for calendars and calendar events and for contact info?
Once you get this data imported by Outlook 2007 on your PC at home, you select this under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences - Outlook 2007 for syncing contact info and the same for syncing calendar events - there is a Contacts and Calendars section under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences for making these selection.
After selecting Outlook 2007 for syncing contact info and calendar events, this must be followed by syncing your iPhone with iTunes - iTunes serves as the sync conduit for this.
