Calibration process

Dear Friends,
I am new to SAP PM module. I wish to do calibration process by using measurement document. Hence I created measurement document for the respective equipment with the annual estimate and counter reading. I created the maintenance plan based on counter and schedule it. While scheduling , notification has been created in the background and from that notification I wish to create calibration order. At that time of creation, the information in the notification copied to the order but the information regarding maintenance plan alone has not copiied into the order. Therefore, while releasing the order inspection lot has created in the background but there is no characteristics attached to the lot. So I can't do the result recording for the particular lot.
Can any one solve this issue?
Regards
Karthik

Hi Karthik,
I guess that you have posted the thread in the wrong Forum,
any ways the key to the Calibration Process is the Task List that you have to define in the Maintenance Order,
you need to define the Inspection point in the Task List as 300, then the system will give you another Tab in the Operations as the Master Inspection Characteristics.
there you give in your MIC no.
can you please tell me in detail where you are getting Stuck ?

sir i am new in sap pm.my boss given me a task that how to configure a calibration process in sap pm.i have seen on scn or google but i didn't get any document related to that please help me to configure a calibration process in sap.if you have any pdf or doc file then please share it to me.

    Hi
It is a Huge data but Inshort I can tell you
    1.Create Equipment using IE01
    2.Create task list in IA01/IA05
    3.Create Maintainance plan using IP01
schedule the equipment in the same with fix cycle.
    4.Schedule through IP30.
Also In customization against PM order define the Inspection lot origin 14
After scheduling Inspec lot of 14 will be created
    Then Do RR & DR

  • QM & PM Calibration Process Configuration

    Hi
I wanted to configure a calibration process. I have made the settings for PM and QM integration but unfortunately in our implementation QM is not in scope but I need to do the QM settings which will be required for calibration. Can anyone provide me a configuration document for calibration process which contains the settings for QM as well as for PM.
    Thanks a lot for help.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vineet

    Dear  Vineet,
In  QM SPRO you have to assign  inspection type 14which is for  inspection in plant maintenance. Also you have to maintain number  range for this. most of  work in calibration  belongs to PM only.
    Following is the flow:
    1) IE01 : Create test quuipment.
    2) QDV1: Create sampling procedure for plant mentenance.
    3) IP42 : Create maintenance plan for equipment.
    4) IA01 : Create equipment task list.
    5) IP02 : Assign task list to maintenance plan.
    6) IP10 : Schedule  maintenance plan.
    6) IP30 : Deadline monitoring of maintenance plan.
    7) IP24 : Viewing schedule for calibration with order released.
    8) QE71 / QE53 : Calibration Result recording  and UD.
This is the way i have mapped  the  calibration process.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Doubts on calibration process

    Hi,
I AM DOING CALIBRATION PROCESS FOR THE FIRST TIME. The process i followed is:
    IE01:Equipment
    IP11: Maintainence Strategy
    IA05: Task List
    IP42: Maintainence Plan
    IP10: Scheduling Of plan
    IP30: Job Planning
Above this i have assigned Inspection type 14 to PM order type for calibration.
    My doubt is:
    1) Is the process that I am following is correct.
    2) If yes, then after I schedule the orders by IP10, Do i need to relese the orders manually in IP10 or do the orders are made & released automatically when I execute IP30. Please let me know what is the process.
    3) If i reject the MIC in result recording does the order still get the status of TECO as it gets when i accept the UD.
    4) Do the maintainence orders get generated automatically after executing IP30 automatically.
PLease respond, I will award points.
    Regards
    Ashish Khurna

    hi
Following is the pre requisite for calibration orders.
Maintain the inspection type 014 in customising (done by QM consultant)
Assign Inspection type 014 to order type PM05 in customising.
    Maintaing the following master data:
    Create Master inspection charecteristics
    Maintain sampling procdedure
Tasklist with inspection point as 300 for equipment
    Assign inspection charectersitics to operations
Maintain catalogs for results recording / usage decision
    Create Maintenance Plan
    Schedule the maintenance plan
    Calibration orders would be generated
release and inspection lt will be created
Check through Tcode QA32 and process the inspection lot - results recording, usage decision
    Trust this may help you.

  • Equipment calibration process

    Hi experts,
in  equipment  calibration  process we have created a plan and scheduled.
maintenance order with inspection lot created.Calibration completed and closed.
But for the next calibration due date again we have to save the schedule (IP10)
in order  to create maintenace order with inspection lot automatically by the system.
is there any solution for this problem so that we don't have to save the schedule again and again to create maintenance order automatically ? Plz answer.

When you create a maintenance plans for calibration in the third tab you will find sort field, define one sort field specific to calibration in configuration and attach it with your all calibration plans. Now after completing the calibration work don't forget to run the dead line monitoring program. Simple select the sort field and execute it will not take more than a min and all your next planned dates will be adjusted automatically

  • Calibration process : inspection lot not created

    Hello,
When creating a maintenance order (PM05) , i can not get the inspection lot created .
There has been some thread about this process , i believe i followed the instructions :
    -equipment category is production ressource/tool
    -master inspection characteristics created (released)
    -sampling procedure created for PM
-equipment task list created with inspection point at header level , with control key including inspection characteristic , with master inspection characteristic , with sampling procedure
-configuration for inspection type and order type is done
then when creating the order manually (or via a maintenance plan) : the order is created and released but with no inspection lot assigned...
does anyone have an idea where the error might come from?
    Thanks again,
    Pete

    Hi Pete
Weather this is correct or not for your scenario but please check the below spro setting.
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service --> Maintenance and Service Processing --> Functions and Settings for Order Types --> Assign Inspection Types to Maintenance/Service Order Types
    click on the symbol
in Change view " Assign Inspection Types to Maintenance/Service Order Types" :Overview screen assign inspection type against plant and order type combination. for PM 14 is inspection type.
    please confirm.

  • Error in calibration process

    Hi, PM experts,
I have created one calibration plan for only one test equipment & scheduled it.Also before that in the task list I have maintained one operation & against it I have maintained only one MIC as per requirement.
Now during Result Recording of the generated inspection lot , system giving messaage that "you have not completed all characteristics" & also it is asking to specify the equipment  as I have maintained only one equipment in maintenance plan , it should flow automatically. When I am doing valuation , system even not allowing to do result recording throughing message that "selected set not maintained" while it is already created.
Can anybody please explain about these errors in details?
    thanks in advance

  • Clarification for Step 2 in Calibration Process

I've read up on all the battery information to ensure that I get optimise results from my new/replacement battery.
    In this document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490
step 2 states:- Allow the battery to rest in the fully charged state for at least two hours. You may use your computer during this time as long as the adapter is plugged in.
Does the above mean that I have to use it for the 2 hours? What does "rest" mean, does that mean keep it on or it can be in it's "sleeping" state for the 2 hours? TIA for any clarification.

Hey Angelica and welcome to the forum -
Perhaps if the the word maintain would work better in the above directions. So....
+Allow the battery to maintain in the fully charged state for at least 2 hours.+
What they mean is bring it up to fully charged and leave it plugged in for at least 2 hours more before going to step 3. While plugged in for the additional 2 hours, you can use your computer if you like while it's plugged in or you can leave it at rest (non-use) or sleep mode while it's plugged in. You will in effect be maintaining 2 hours of continuous fully charged level.
I usually plug mine in and use it until about 5pm and the last 2 hours is at 100%. Then, I unplug it in and use it until about 9pm when it goes into the forced sleep/lowest battery mode (as stated in step 4). Close the lid and I goto sleep as well. Next morning when I awaken, I plug it in until fully charged....wala, calibrated.
    Hope this helps. -GDF

  • Process in QM for Calibration of guage & destructive material testing

    hello all,
can somebody help for sequence of process and setting required in QM  to
    - send the Gauges for Calibration to out sidevendor and receive back.
    - To send the material outside for (destructive)testing and receive the material back and book it on scrap account.

    Hi,
Refer the link below for calibration process thro PM in SAP.

  • Process for sending equipment during calibration

    Hi Experts,
when i send an equipment( ex: vernier) for a third party vendor for calibration, in purchase order, there is no material displayed since the item category is " D"(service).  Now i have one doubt.
How to send the equipment for calibration and at the same time in sap, there should be some transaction/document so as to send/receive the equipment for calibration. Any suggestions .

    Hi Nandi,
Being from the business side I would suggest that rather then considering this process as the Calibration Process, please consider it as a Simple Sub-Contracting Process.
in which the material that you are sending, will be coming back to you, That is the Re-Work Material.
You can issue the Serialized Material(With Equipment) to the vendor via 541 Mvt Type and do simple GR with 101 Mvt type and pay the vendor for the services.
You can generate the Sub-Contracting PR from the Maintenance order Only, and then create the PO for the PR.
    Hope it helps you.

  • Macbook Battery Calibration Questions

    Greetings!
I just bought a MacBook today (the mid-range white model) but I am a complete tyro in the Apple world. I have a few questions with respect to the calibration process. The manual is lucid with respect to everything except for three issues:
    1. The instructions make no mention of whether or not I can turn on my MacBook and use it during the first charge cycle (that is, the charging cycle before the two hour normal use stage).
    2. The instructions do not indicate whether or not I have to wait until the battery is completely dead during the "die-down" stage (the supposed five hour sleep stage) before I plug in the charger and fully charge the battery again. Is it all right to plug in the power adapter after the computer has slept for five hours while the computer is still in sleep mode?
    3. If for some reason I screwed up my first calibration (perhaps due to mishandling the process in (1) or (2) above), is it detrimental to immediately run another calibration process (i.e. treat the second "power up" cycle as step one of the calibration process)?
The reason why I raise these issues is because I am currently calibrating my MacBook as I speak. I plugged my adapter into the computer, turned it on, and ran programs (iTunes, CD ripping, Wifi) while the initial charge cycle was running. I have let the computer fully charge and have left it fully charged for a little over two hours. I am about to disconnect it and move to the "die-down" stage (that is, I will let it die down into sleep mode). I am concerned about whether or not I have faulted at any point in the calibration process. Any help regarding my questions would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.

And yes, it is ok the plug the adaptor while the computer is in sleep mode. The battery will charge as normal.
No, I think this is wrong. You need to let it sleep without the power adapter. This causes the battery to deplete most of the remaining reserve charge. If you look in the manual on pages 23-24, steps 4-6 are critical. Basically it says to drain your battery till it goes to sleep (step 4). Then let it sleep for 5 hours (step 5). Then plug in the ac adapter and leave it in till it is fully charged (step 6).
So do not plug in the AC adapter until it has either been off for 5 hours or in sleep mode for 5 hours.
Personally I don't see how you can shut it off instead of sleep mode for the 5 hours, as once it goes to sleep mode, from low battery, you cannot wake it to turn it off unless you plug in the AC and that defeats the whole purpose...

  • MacBook Pro 17" (Late 2007) not starting up after battery calibration (depleted)

Hi, I have spent most of today skimming through the advice given on these forums, but to no avail. I cannot power up my MBP. Since it is Sunday, I will give my best to find every piece of "soft" advice to try before giving up my daily workhorse to the official Apple Support.
    Machine specs:
    MacBook Pro 17" Hi-Res pre-unibody (2007)
Second battery - original bloated about a year ago (lasted 4 yrs! of continuous use)
    SSD primary, HDD secondary drives
    6GB om RAM
    2.4GHz C2D
    MacOS 10.6.8
Logic board replaced a few years back with faulty graphics (re-call).
    This is what happened:
I decided to recalibrate my MBP (replaced, non-original NuPower) battery over the weekend.
I'm using my laptop at home and at the office, plugged in mostly. So it was advised to perform this procedure for the sake of a healthy battery.
Dreained it to the state of sleep nd then waited for the sleep light to go off.
A couple of hours passed after that when I returned to my desk and plugged in the adapter.
The LED went on GREEN (weird, I thought, but hoped it just did not pick up the completely drained battery right away).
Let it rest with that state for several hours. LED remained GREEN at all times.
Tha laptop sat still on the desk the whole time...
    This is what I tried:
Unplugged, took battery out briefly, replugged - GREEN indicator.
Tried another adapter (60W instead of the original 85W), that adapter showed green as well.
Tried my AC adapter to charge another MacBook - charged fine, AMBER light.
    - THIS MEANS the problem is with my MBP unit (incl battery).
Unplugged, took battery out, held the power button for 5secs (SMC reset), reassembled - no improvement
Tried all key-combos, held power button for 10secs
Took the battery out and tried to bott with plugged adapter, this normally works fine, but now nothing - no sound whatsoever
    - THIS MEANS the issues is not with the battery, it is with the power management.
Sad thing is, that if it is the motherboard somehow that got damaged by itself, it means the end of this fine and capable machine. It is not worth the investment of a replacement motherboard and buying them from ebay is not a sustainable option
Tomorrow I will swap AC-adapters and batteries with an identical model of a friend. I will let you know.
I expect little you can help me with, but for future reference, the story might prove useful for similar cases. I was upset and surprised mainly because of the timing - not powering up after drained battery during calibration process.

Dreained it to the state of sleep nd then waited for the sleep light to go off.
A couple of hours passed after that when I returned to my desk and plugged in the adapter.
Did you wait 5+ hours?  Per article - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH7261 "After your computer goes to sleep, turn it off or allow it to sleep for five hours or longer."
