:: CALIBRATOR ASSISTANT WON'T LET ME CALIBRATE MY MONITOR ::

I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. I have been trying to calibrate my monitor for a few weeks now and the calibrator assistant is NOT letting me. When I go through all of the steps it tells me, "Conclusion. An error has occured. The new calibrated display profile could not be created or set to be the current profile for this display." I'm using a Macbook Pro Mac OS X Version 10.6.6 (Snowleopard). This is essential that I get this taken care of. It used to work a few months back but all of a sudden, it won't let me follow through with all of the steps. I have restarted my computer, made sure the computer is updated... and still won't work. Please help me

Have you installed any third-party programs or utilities during the time between when the calibration assistant worked properly and when it began misbehaving?
If so and if you know which one(s), can you disable it(them)?
Alternatively, have you created a new user account, logged into that account, and tried the calibration? If so and if it worked while failing in your original user account, then this result implies that there is a problem in your original user account which is related to the failure.

    that would be a firewall setting so if your firewall is disabled, that setting is irrelevant.
    you could use a direct download of ps cs6, if you follow all 7 steps: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html
    if you see a dl error page, you did not follow all 7 steps.
    you can also, uninstall adobe download assistant and try reinstalling.

  • Backup Assistant won't let me restore MMS to my new replacement phone....why?

    My original Curve's cursor button suddenly stopped working.  So I couldn't use it to check email, SMS or MMS messages.  While waiting on my replacement Curve to arrive I received 4 new text messages, at least two of them were MMS (I could tell by the alarm).  My new replacement arrived today, but the backup assistant won't transfer any MMS's to my new Curve.  How can I fix this?  Can I just read them online somewhere?

    I know you stated you have a replacement device already, but did you try a battery pull on your old device.  If not, pull the battery and put it back to allow the device to reboot.  Maybe that will jog your device's trackball into working.  Also, with your device off, place it on a hard surface and press the trackball down while moving it in different directions.  That might get it going enough for you to get some things off your old device.  Anyways, hope this helps.

  • Adobe Download Assistant won't let me sign in?

    I was going to download and install a trial version of Adobe Master Collection CS6, however, whenever I try and sign in to the assistant using my email and password, it just hangs at the sign up screen and does nothing. I'm forced to terminate the process using Windows Task Manager. This is the case every time I open Adobe Download Assistant and attempt to download the trial. I've tried restarting my computer, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I have no clue what else I can try. What can I do to overcome this mess and download the trial?

    Try disabling it any other security software temporarily until you determine which software is causing your difficulty.  Alternately you can also download the install files directly by following the directions listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369.

    The most common cause is because of the browser cookies.
    Clear your browser's cookies. If you don't know how, see your browser's documentation for instructions.
    Go back to the Adobe Downloads page for the product trial you are downloading and refresh it (Command+R or Ctrl+R).

  • Migration assistant won't let me select visible Time Capsule disk

    I'm using Migration Assistant to migrate from my Time Capsule backup after starting up the new computer. It asks me to select my disk, and my Time Capsule backup disk is visible (I've already entered my Time Capsule password). BUT, I cannot select the disk by clicking on it anywhere, and "Continue" remains greyed out. I've checked, and my backup is still on the time capsule. What's happening? Thanks. Doug

  • Japanese OS so Download Assistant won't let me use my UK registered ID

    Just as the title states, my laptop and OS is Japanese. I live in the UK though and my ID is registerd there. When I go to download anything the Download Assistant defaults to Japanese, and I get told that I need a Japanese ID.
    Is there any way to manually download the UK(?) Download Assistant?
    If not, how do I work around this?

  • Bluetooth assistant won't let me start up

    Keep getting "Bluetooth Mouse Set up" at start up.
    Here's what I've done.
    Started as Target Volume using my Macbook.
    From there I trashed bluetooth plist in preferences.
    I eventually trashed whole preference file.
    From target, I went in and unclicked an auto feature that tries to help you set up bluetooth if it doesn't detect a mouse or keyboard.
    I'm using a usb mouse and keyboard -- it is not wireless and I'm not even trying to hook something up bluetooth, yet it will not move off the screen and allow the computer to start up.
    This is incredibly frustrating.
    I have not tried another mouse, but that's my next step, unless someone else has some ideas. Please help.

    Problem solved by getting new mouse. Mac Mini (maybe all macs?) needs mouse of some kind to boot up completely or at least to go forward in system start.
    I've not had success in these forums getting anyone to respond to my inquiries. I think I've done this 3 times. I can see 40 people viewed. Not sure how to get responses more effectively.

  • When I use migration assistant it won't let me use my account name that I'm signed in with.  It requires me to select a different user name and then creates a separate account where my files live.  Why can't I select the user name and account name I have?

    I'm trying to migrate my music and pictures over to my new iMac.  When I use the migration assistant it connects to my PC fine but it won't let me use the account name and username that I have created as the admin.  It requires me to create a new user account - so then I have two separate accounts to log in to which i don't want.  How do I get it to let me use the current account that I have to move my files to?

    Migration Assistant creates a new account and migrates all the information you have requested to that new account. There is no way around that. However once migrated you can move the data to the account you want to. Here are some instructions for doing so:

  • LabVIEW won't let me configure DAQ assistant

    Hi,
    When I launch the Data Acquisition with NI-DAQmx.vi and double click the DAQ assistant icon on the block diagram the program won't let me configure the DAQ.  Also, right clicking on the DAQ and selecting properties does nothing.  How do configure the DAQ to allow me to use input channels on my NI-ELVIS board and then display the output on graphs in labview?

    In general, you can have two (or more) DAQ Assistants in the same VI.  I assume, however, that you're trying to have separate DAQ Assistants for analog input and this definitely will not work.  You must group all tasks of the same type (analog input, analog output) within the same DAQ Assistant or DAQmx Task.  You can add multiple channels by holding control and selecting multiple items when you are initially configuring the DAQ Assistant.
    In order to separate signals in LabVIEW you can use the Split Signals function that is available on several palettes.  To find it, just click "Search" from the functions palette and search for "Split Signals"

    When all else fails (it sounds like it has) hold the power button for about 10 seconds. This shuts down the computer. Then tap it to restart. Since it sounds like the OS upgrade began but then failed to perform a restart you may find that the Install Mavericks file is still in the Applications folder and you can try again. Or you might find that you have to redownload. I don't think the installation is going to proceed as if the computer had successfully restarted but I could be wrong (and in this case gladly so for your sake.)

    I have had my 20" iMac since January 2007, but have not yet calibrated the monitor which I understand is a good thing to do periodically. I would like to do this using the Display Calibrator Assistant available via Mac System Preferences.
    My Internet research on this subject has uncovered some controversy on how to perform the calibration. For example, a preponderance of opinion seems to be that the Gamma setting should be 2.2 instead of the 1.8 recommended by Apple for Mac OS computers. There are also differing opinions on whether to use the Expert Mode when calibrating.
    I would appreciate an authoritative response on how best to perform the monitor calibration. For your information my primary interest regarding calibration is making sure that colors are correct when I am viewing and editing photographic digital images that I store in iPhoto.

    With my Nikon I can set the color space to either Adobe RGB or sRGB. Ken Rockwell (kenrockwell.com) is very knowledgeable in this area, and in his User's Guide for the D200, strongly advises the default sRGB setting unless the user really knows what he is doing with Adobe RGB and does his own printing. I don't agree with all of Mr. Rockwell's pronouncements, but on this issue I opted to follow his advice.
    I don't find noise to be a significant issue with the D200 from ISO 100 through 1600.  Noise gets pretty bad at ISO 3200, but the Noise Ninja program is very helpful in reducing noise to acceptable levels. Noise is worse in underexposed areas, but on balance I still prefer underexposure--within reason--to overexposure. 
    I started out my use of the D200 shooting everything in RAW + JPEG (Large Normal Optimal Quality), but in most instances I didn't feel that RAW gave me noticeably better results than JPEG. Also, RAW images chew up a lot of hard drive space. I now shoot most stuff JPEG, but employ RAW in situations that might present a problem, like when shooting sporting events in school gymnasiums which typically have abominable lighting conditions. With RAW images white balance is easier to adjust than with JPEGs. On the Internet I have read a number of impassioned arguments in favor of RAW over JPEG, but I still consider RAW to be a digital image format and not a religion! Therefore, I don't fear consignment to hades as a penalty for shooting JPEGs!
