Call an event of one page from another page

Hello Friends,
I have BSP Application with two pages (pages with flow logic). Page A and Page B.
I have a button on Page A.
I have used the Java script window.setInterval() to call a bsp page (Page B) automatically after a specified interval.
I have a button on Page B.
Now, whenever I click on the button on Page B, I want the Page B to close and automatically trigger the button on Page A.
I mean I click on Page B button but I want the Page A button to be triggered. Is that possible?
Regards,
Raju

possible. create a bsp application with two pages (a.htm and b.htm) with the following code.
a.htm
<%@page language="abap" %>
<%@extension name="htmlb" prefix="htmlb" %>
<htmlb:content design="design2003" >
  <htmlb:page title=" " >
  <script>
  function test()
  document.getElementById('AB').click();
  </script>
    <htmlb:form>
      <htmlb:textView text   = "Hello World!"
                      design = "EMPHASIZED" />
      <htmlb:button id            = "AB"
                    text          = "Press Me"
                    onClientClick = "alert('Clicked from B');" />
            <htmlb:button id            = "A1"
                    text          = "open pop up"
onClientClick = "javascript:window.open ('b.htm', '_blank', 'toolbar=0,scrollbars=1,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=1,width=800,height=550,left = 200,top = 100');" />
    </htmlb:form>
  </htmlb:page>
</htmlb:content>
b.htm code
<%@page language="abap" %>
<%@extension name="htmlb" prefix="htmlb" %>
<htmlb:content design="design2003" >
  <htmlb:page title=" " >
    <script>
      function ClsWindow(){
    window.opener.test();
    self.close();
      </script>
    <htmlb:form>
      <htmlb:textView text   = "Hello World!"
                      design = "EMPHASIZED" />
      <htmlb:button id            = "AB"
                    text          = "Press Me"
                    onClientClick = "ClsWindow();" />
    </htmlb:form>
  </htmlb:page>
</htmlb:content>
save activate.
now run a.htm and click open popup.
and in the popup click the button "press me" to test it

    both ShopBook.java and DataBean.java lies in the package shoppack.
    in ShopBook i tried to instantiate the object to DataBean as
    DataBean db = new DataBean();
    it shows the compiler error, unable to resolve symbol DataBean.
    note:
    first i compiled DataBean.java, it got compiled perfectly and the class file resides inside the shoppack.

  • Need call a method of one iview from another iview

    Hi,
    There are 2 iviews in a component.
    1) FirstView - contains abc() method & xyz() methods
    2) SecondView (a popup) - asdf() method
    i want to call abc() method from asdf() method. i.e. i want to call a method of the firstview from the secondview.
    Note:
    1) i couldn't able to copy the code of abc() method to component controller, as it has the code which uses (iview) local attributes (this can be done by context mapping) & main reason is from the method it calls the xyz() method of the same view (again i couldn't call a method of iview from component controller).
    2) firstView contain 5 tabs, i want to be in the same tab from which secondview (popup) was called, if i use fire plugs between both view, the current tab will be chnaged (i suppose, not sure).
    3) can we use event handlers, if yes how can we do that.
    Please provide a better solution for calling a method of view from another view.
    Thanks
    Maha

    Hi Maha,
    It is better to have such methods in the component controller to make it reusable and avoid writing same code again and again.
    You can have that method in component controller and call that method on click on a button from Iview1 and can pass the parameters in the mthgod only.
    for example.
    Say Method abc() which is currently in Iview1 and you are passing values from context say aa bb cc to the method now what i am suggesting is
    have that method abc(String aa, String bb, String cc) ;
    and call it on click on button in Iview1 and pass the required parameters.
    Hope this will help

  • Refrencing an item of one page from another page.

    If an item is added in one page then, is it possible to reffer this item in another page. So that if the original item is changed it is refleted in other page as well.

    There's also a third, non-portlet solution:
    Create a package with a PL/SQL procedure containing item. Set package's grant access rights to "PUBLIC execute". Then call the package as a PLSQL item on a Portal page (schema_name.package_name.procedure_name).
    Drawbacks: Not all updates to the package's content will be immediately apparent on Portal pages ... web cache can store outdated content ... but this is a web cache configuration issue.
    Advantages: This is really fast to code (using htp.p) and dead-simple to implement. I'm surprised Oracle doesn't showcase simple tools like htp.p and htp.form. Really useful stuff and no thick manuals/whitepapers to slog through. OK, one more advantage, Portal gives the user complete control over item layout ... portlets tend to create whitespace around them.

    Hi!
    First, I'm not sure that your page layout is adequate. The regions are not intended to be navigated from outside. Yet, they can send navigation action to the container (page on which the region is placed) through Parent Action taskflow element. Also, you can investigate Contextual Events that can be raised by region, but I'm also not sure that this can be easily used for cross-region navigation.
    I would suggest you to reconsider you page layout. You can use dynamic regions (which are populated by taskflow based on menu selection or click on actionLink or s button). This way, in the Start facet you place a navigation menu (links), which are connected with dynamic region in Center. If you want to reuse a navigation links (in Start), you can put all this in page template and reuse it over and over again.

  • Calling a variable in one function from another

    Okay so here's the situation:
    I have a function that has a For Loop inside it.  Inside that For Loop I am defining a button and calling to another function if clicked.  The issue is (since I shouldn't put functions inside other functions) how do I get the variable being processed in the For Loop to be considered in the function that was just activated by pressing the button.
    lol sorry.  Here's the code.
    All variable are defined elsewhere in the code.
    function populateBox(DataInput:XML)
              linkAmount = DataInput.country[boxPartNum - 1].link.length(); /// defines amount of links being made
              for (k=0; k<linkAmount; k++)
                        myLink = new LinkClass();
                        box.boxMC.linksMC.addChild(myLink);
                        // set functions for links //
                        myLink.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, linkFunction);
    /// now the function for when the button is pressed ///
    function linkFunction(event:MouseEvent)
      trace(k);
    I need to trace the "K" used in teh For Loop.
    What are my options?

    IF they are movieclips then you can assign the k value as a property of them dynamically.  Then you can retrieve that value in your event handler via the event argument that gets passed to the function.
    function populateBox(DataInput:XML)
              linkAmount = DataInput.country[boxPartNum - 1].link.length(); /// defines amount of links being made
              for (k=0; k<linkAmount; k++)
                        myLink = new LinkClass();
                        box.boxMC.linksMC.addChild(myLink);
                        // set functions for links //
                        myLink.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, linkFunction);
                        myLink.kValue = k;
    /// now the function for when the button is pressed ///
    function linkFunction(event:MouseEvent)
      trace(event.currentTarget.kValue);
    Note:  I am not surewhen it's needed, but it is possible you will need to cast the event.currentTarget as a MovieClip, so the line in the function might need to be...
    trace(MovieClip(event.currentTarget).kValue);

  • How to call one .SWF from another?

    How do I call one .SWF from another. I built a very beefy
    base .SWF, and want to add music overlay, and an intro slide show
    to the exsting Flash animation, but put it in a second .FLA/.SWF
    file. How do I call one from the other?
    This will be embedded in an HTML file but I assume this is
    superfluous to my question.
    F.Z.

    I think you should open that Another SWF (FLA),
    and add some actionscript..
    For example, you could create a movie clip, and write
    actionscript in the
    first keyframe:
    loadMovie("
    http://www.somewebpage.com/movie.swf",
    this);

  • How to setup the Hyperlink from one page to another page

    Hi,
    I am new to Oracle APEX. My requirement is to setup a Hyperlink from one page to another page.
    Currently I am displaying 4 columns in the report of Page 1. The report is like below,
    Survey Response Count_of_Cities City_Name
    AB Y 2 LONDON,CHICAGO
    AB N 3 DELHI,MUMBAI,CHENNAI
    AC Y 1 LONDON
    AC N 4 TOKYO,HONGKONG,BANGALORE,HYDERABAD
    But the revised requirement is I need to show the City_name in another page i.e. Page 2 when the user clicks on value of the Count_of_Cities. i.e. If the user clicks on 3, In page 2 the values should be appear like below
    DELHI
    MUMBAI
    CHENNAI
    If I click on the 4, the values in the page should be like below,
    TOKYO
    HONGKONG
    BANGALORE
    HYDERABAD
    Currently in Page 1 I am hiding the City_Name and created a Hyperlink on Count_of_Cities. When clicked on Count_of_Cities it is navigating to Page 2. But the values for City_Name are not showing properly.
    Please sugegst how I can show the City_Name values in page 2?
    Please let me know if you require any additional information.
    Please provide the solution. The requirement is urgent.
    Thanks in Advance

  • Can I Call method on one JVM from another through a dll?

    Let me explain.
    I have this java jar file that I can only have one instance of running at any given time. I'm using a shared data segment in a dll to store a bool indicating whether the program is already running or not. If it's already running, I have to not run the second instance and give focus to the current running instance.
    The jar file calls a native method "canInstantiate()" on a dll to see if there's already an app running. If there isn't, the env and obj are stored in the shared data segment of the dll and we return true. If there is already an instance of the program running, I want canInstantiate call a function on the current instance of the jar (like a callback) to tell it to request focus. It's not working. Can someone tell me if my code is right?
    The .h file
    #include "stdafx.h"
    #include <jni.h>
    #include "CardServer.h"
    #pragma data_seg("SHARED") // Begin the shared data segment.
    static volatile bool instanceExists = false;
    static JavaVM *theJavaVM = NULL;
    static JNIEnv* theJavaEnv= NULL;

    jdouble instantiate(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj);
    jdouble uninstantiate(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj);
    void grabFocus();
    </code>
    The .cpp file:

    Can I Call method on one JVM from another through a dll
    ...The rest of your question merely expands on your title.
    And the answer to that question is no.
    When you call a method you are executing a "thread of execution." A thread of execution exists only in a single process. It can not exist in another process.
    If the dll is doing some interesting things then you could call a method that sets a flag. Data can move between instances. But you would then have to have a thread in that different process monitoring that flag. And sharing data in a dll is not a normal process, so it would have to be coded appropriately.
    If all you want to do is set the current focus to the existing application, then that can be done with existing windows functionality. You don't need to do anything special in your dll. You can probably search these forums to find the exact code. If not there are countless examples in windows repositories (like MSDN) on how to do that.

  • CallerPrincipal when calling one sessionbean from another

    Hi all,
    I have a little problem when calling one sessionbean from another sessionbean. The problem is, that in the method, which is called, is used SessionContext's getCallerPrincipal().getName(). This works great from client, but from other sessionbeans getCallerPrincipal() retuns an "ANONYMOUS" principal. How can I set the correct principal (the principal from the first sessionbean)?
    Thank you
    My env: Glassfish 2.1.1, Netbeans 6.8, Eclipselink 2.0.0, Java 1.6.0.18
    My code:
    @Stateless
    public class ABean implements ASessionRemote{
    @Resource
    SessionContext ctx;
    @Override
    public void aMethod(){
    String name = ctx.getCallerPrincipal().getName(); // the name is ANONYMOUS, when the call is done from other sessionbean
    @Stateless
    public class BBean implements BSessionRemote{
    @Resource
    SessionContext ctx;
    @EJB
    private ASessionRemote aSessionBean;
    @Override
    public void bMethod(){
    aSessionBean.aMethod();
    }

    "This works great from client"
    What do you mean by this, i.e what sort of client are you using (stand alone app, servlet) ?
    what shows up if you printout the caller principal in the calling bean ?
    are the two ejbs in the same ear ?
    what security meta-information are you using in ejb-jar.xml and sun-ejb-jar.xml, if any ?
