Call an executable after Installing an application.

Hi..
I am using Labview 7.1 application builder to build my application. In that one, one option is there to call one more executable after installing this application.(Installer settings/Advanced/Run after installation). But I am trying to call one more exe which is built in Labview only. But it is not working and not giving any error messages. Please let me whether it is possible to call Labview exe in this manner.
Thanks in advance

Hello,
It's been some time so I'm not sure you still need this help. In any case, the executable that you want to run after the installation must be an LV executable and you don't have to forget to add it in the Installer settings->Files. You don't need to use the full path but the name of the executable must be right spelled.
I use that option to configure the Registry keys that will determine how the main application will run. I compile the Configuration program in the Application Builder and when I compile the main application, I include the executable and make it run with the installation.
I have one problem though. I also install the Configuration program in the group so the user can run it later if he needs so. I have two main applications that can run in the same computer and both use, and add to the group, the configuration program. My problem happens when I uninstall one of the main applications. It uninstalls the Config. program although the other main application is still there. I expected that the system would know that there's still at least one application that needs that tool, something like the DataSocket tools that are uninstalled only if you uninstall all the applications that will use them.
If you have any questions or comments on the original issue, please let me know.
Thanks,
Marce

• After installing an application that was created using the Application Builder

After installing an application that I created using the Application Builder I get this error if I try to run " ANY " LabVIEW App's that I have built. "Executable Version 7.1.1 doesn't match Resource File 7.1. Check your configuration."
The way that I tried to fix this is to reload LabVIEW 7.1 and DAQmx 8.0. I am using two NI-6528 switch cards.
After I reload LabVIEW and DAQmx I can run my applications but as soon as I install one on this development machine the error begins again.
The executable that I built works fine on the development machine and any other machine that I try it on but it appears that the Run-Time engine 7.1 becomes corrupt after I run setup.exe for the newly created application.
I have built numerous Installers, setup.exe's in the past without this error. Just this latest one caused this problem to start.
I can NOT upgrade to 7.1.1. I am doing work for many different sections of this factory and I can not force them to upgrade. I've asked. Others supply code for the same machines using LabVIEW 7.1.
I am stuck creating executables and manualing moving the correct files to the target machines.
What can be done?

No. The KB article was talking about a machine with 7.1.1 installed. I have LabVIEW 7.1 installed.
The machine that I am having trouble with is my development machine. LabVIEW 7.1, DAQmx 8.0.
If I build the executable all is fine. I can still run old executables including the one I just built.
If I create the installer all is fine. I can still run old executables including the one I just built.
When I install the app on my development machine the corruption occurs. I can " NOT " run old executables including the one I just built. The subject error pops up.
I have not moved any executables to the other machines yet. I don't want to corrupt others.

My iphone 4s is no longer making sound when i have an incoming call or message after installing ios7.... any help?
It still vibrates but no calling sounds or message sounds. It's not on mute and the speakers are working... I can hear music etc.
Oh yeah no keypad noises either.

Same thing has happened to me. I have tried every trick that's been posted here. I just ran out of options. Galaxy phone is starting to look better by the minute.

Dear all,
I have problem with my torch always reboot and can not enter to home screen after installed some application, i had read this problem caused by new version of bbm which connect to application and give solution to delete cod with connect to bbm such as... Common.cod, plugin.cod... I had tried it by is not work... I try to do factory reset... It works but will delete all my data excluding application.. For sometimes it works but sometimes can not works and in the end i will wipe my torch and install new OS into my torch,

Please help if there are best solutions. Thank you in advance.

Regards

Your best bet is to reload the current OS to your phone. If a newer version of OS exists and you wish to load it go ahead, but reloading your current one should do the trick.
To do this, plug your phone in to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software. Click Device at the top of the software then Update.
I hope that helps you.

Nothing like keeping an up to date back up.
You could try an Archive and Install. That is the least harmful way,. and you will lose little. Then, run Software Update, unchecking what may be trouble. Once you get to a good point, make your backup current, and continue that, Daily. Carbon Copy Cloner can do it for free, and without your interaction.

• Reboot require after install the application from SCCM 2012 deployment

Hi team,
I have a application which is having 2 executable files.
1.exe and 2.exe , reboot is require after install every executable file. Please suggest me how can implement this.
Once reboot done (1st executable file installed and reboot), SCCM should start 2nd executable file.

No, because when the application will be installed it will evaluate the requirements of the deployment types in the order of the deployment type priority. The first deployment type that can install, based on its requirements, will be installed, after
that the application will be considered installed and it won't process any other deployment types.

• Preventing help files being added to start menu after installing an application in windows 8.1 enterprise

Hi Guys
when we install an Application in windows 8 family, we see that in addition of Application executable file, user manuals (.chm) and PDF & other files related to that App are added to start menu (when we click down Arrow which shows all programs) and
so the start menu gets quit messy.
is there any settings to make only applications executable file be added to start menu & prevent other types of files related to that App being added here?
thanks in advanced

Hi John,
This issue is related to the programs package we installed.
• An installation package contains all of the information that the Windows Installer requires to install or uninstall an application or product and to run the setup user interface.
• The developer can specify installation context, and based on these properties, Windows Installer automatically redirects the values of folder properties and registrations to locations.
• The shortcut is added to the profile by these context
We could right click these file and could find out they are the shortcut mentioned above.
For more information about Windows Installer, please refer to the following article.

• After installing an application many stopped working

After installing the xray fx application made by WebArtisan many other applications on my iphone 3G started closing upon startup such as google earth, steadycam, snaplog, and more. well pretty much about 75% of the applications on my iphone. such a huge sacrifice of many useful apps is totally unacceptable as the app which caused this is practically worthless and only useful as a prank. i would like to fix this but have no idea how so any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. If i cant fix this i will most likely be returning my iphone and getting a windows mobile phone as i have had nothing but trouble with this thing since i bought it. apple needs to start caring more about neccessities like copy & paste and less about useless luxuries like this dump app.

well i think i found the problem, it is not in fact anything to do with the xray app, but do to the fact that i recently changed the itunes account on the phone. the applications no longer working had been downloaded and registered to my sisters account because i had not yet made an account of my own. when i switched the iphone to my own account it blocked me out of using them. before i deleted the apps from my phone i backed them up to my computer, but is there anyway to change them to be able to be used by my itunes account or will i have to purchase everything again? i really dont feel like having to pay for things i have already bought . and why would apple make a feature like this? it only gets in the way and causes problems and i cant see any benefit of having this feature.

• After installing a application getting messages

Hi I keep getting this coming up on my blackberry curve 8520 after I reboot my phone www.bbworld.blackberryconference.net then it says view certificate close connection or continue. It doesn't seem to go away and its only after I installed the smiley pack, but I have uninstalled this and its still coming up! Can you help?

A few ways. After installing all of the updates for Windows (mainly meaning the Apple updates), you'll find a Startup Disk icon in the Windows tray. Choose the OS X drive as your startup disk and restart.
Or, restart and immediately hold down the Option key. Choose the OS X drive and continue. Once in OS X, choose the Startup Disk tool in the System Preferences and make the OS X drive the main startup disk.
Or, restart and hold down the X key. Repeat the rest above once on the OS X desktop.

• Is there a way to view the new product notifications after installing the application?

When you install LabWindows/CVI or any other NI application you may receive new prduct notifications containing critical warnings or any other type of notifications. For CVI 2009 a critical warning is displayed suggesting to download and install a patch. In my case I chose to ignore the warning and continue with my installation without downloading the patch or creating a copy of the download link first.
After I finish installing I wanted to download the patch but I realized there is not an easy way to display the new product notifications from LabWindows/CVI.
My only options at this time was to search under the online support page or re-run the installer to get the link.
I think that it would be nice to have a menu item under help->web links->new product notifications that would take you to the list of notifications for your application.
If you know of an easy way to access the new product notifications from LabWindows CVI, please let me know. Am I missing something?
Regards.

Hey Antonio,
That's a good suggestion, and it's something that we're already planning on addressing in the next release, probably via a service that you can use to view information about patches and notifications -- not only the ones that were known at the time that you installed, but also ones that might have come into existence since then.
In case you're still looking for the link to that CVI 2009 notification, you can find it here.
By the way, my world cup sympathies to you -- your guys were robbed.
Luis

• Anything linking to Applications Folder crashes after installing an application?

I've just recently downloaded a game (Borderlands) on my Macbook Pro, and now I'm unable to access my applications folder.
Whenever I'm trying to remove the game through programs like AppZapper, the app crashes as well.
I've googled and had no luck in the past 2 hours, trying everything from terminal commands to deleting plist files to stop it from crashing.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

If it's the game, or remnants of the game, that are causing the kernel panics, you need to contact the developer for the "right way" to uninstall the application and all auxiliary files. AppZapper is OK for some apps, but for those that place auxiliary files all over the place (MS Office, any Adobe app, etc.) you need to uninstall according to the developers instructions, even if it means reinstalling the app to completely remove everything.
