For example:
this is actual query in QD

Implement getdata lets say
DS_1.getData("Marks", {"SNo": "1", "Sname": "name1"}).value;
getData returns the value : 10
Now you filter data source in Application/browser lets say
DS_1.setFilterExt("Sname", "name2;name3");
now resultant loaded query in application is
SNo Sname Marks
2     name2     20
3     name3     30
Now if you implement getdata
DS_1.getData("Marks", {"SNo": "1", "Sname": "name1"}).value;
getData returns : 0
Because there is no current data for name1 in application but in Underlying query has all the details

I'm having similar issues. The iPhone4's face time works just as it always did but the iPad4 is not working. I can place a call but it won't connect, others can call and it rings but never connects. I've signed in and out of iTunes, removed and reinstalled the wifi, hard restart, and anything I can think of. It's driving me nuts!

How does the .accept() method work?

I have checked the source code of the ServerSocket implementation that comes with the jdk.
I tought I was going to find some type of loop. However I found nothing like that! so how does the accept method work.
I mean when we call the .accept() method, the thread in which the socketServer is initialized gets stoped untill a new client connection is recieved! how is this actually managed?

At a guess, the accept call that Java makes, relies on the OS system call through JNI. accept would then block until a new connection is present if you are using blocking.

Calling ABAP class methods from JAVA application

Hi All,
I want to fetch ITS related information (SITSPMON Tcode) in my JAVA application. But i didnt find much BAPIs for the same. While debugging I came accross few class methods with help of which I can get the required information. So is there any way we can call and execute methods of ABAP classes through java application?
for e.g. I want to call GET_VERSION method of CL_ITSP_UTIL class.

Hi,
Yes, as per my knowledge the only way to interact is using BAPI exposed as RFCs. So try to invoke those class methods in one CUSTOM BAPI and expose that BAPI as RFC and consume that RFC to get those details.

Pop up dialog async call and forget

Hello,
I do not really have experience with dynamic VI calls, so I would like to ask for some help.
Here is a (screenshot only) part of my MAIN VI, where I call a pop-up dialog VI using the "dynamic call and forget" method:
I only pass one reference into this VI, the ref of the pop-up button, so when the user closes the pop-up window, I re-enable this button on the MAIN front panel. This pop-up dialog functions as a Graph monitor, it can update its Graph using an ActionEngine which is a buffer. So please ignore the missing type defs and the ActionEngines, they are not relevant in this case. Find this pop-up dialog attached.
Actually my application just works, I only started to get some problems since when I included the "MGI Save & Restore Settings.vi" in this pop-up dialog, in order to save Graph settings to a config file (the application will be used as a built exe). When I close the pop-up VI, I can see the Graph settings are properly saved into the *.ini file under the "Documents" folder. However, when this file exists already, and I call this pop-up VI, I get the following error (so when the MGI VI is fired with the "Restore" action at the beginning of my dialog VI):
I have three questions:
What I do is it OK? I mean to pop-up such dialog, is it OK to use the "call and forget" method?
When the user closes the panel of the pop-up VI, does it stay in the memory? Do I have a memory leak, or it closes properly? (I think not...)
I do not understand the error produced by the MGI Toolkit VI, it has something to do with the dynamic call method? I even feed it with the static VI reference of the pop-up VI itself. Before I tried the "This VI" reference constant, but getting same error.
Edit1: hmm, maybe the MGI toolkit is not compatible with Graphs with multiple Y-axis?..I will test it...

- The references you're passing into the MGI functions: "This VI" is definitely the right reference to use as it returns the reference to the clone/instance of the VI that's running rather than a Static VI reference which refers to the Original VI. In your case you can only have one instance of the VI running (because it is non-reentrant) so I don't think it matters here (but I'm not sure?!). I think this will fix the issues with the MGI functions.
Hmm, me neither sure what is going on But I already used the "This VI" constant, and the error was the same. Anyway, I try again, maybe I cannot remember
- I also suspect an issue around closing the VI reference after the ACBR node and having a non-reentrant VI but I usually use reentrant VIs and allow multiple calls so I'm not exactly sure of what happens in the non-reentrant case.
As the first point, I will only close this ref when I quit the MAIN application.

Best practice for calling application module methods and plsql code

In my application I am experiencing problems with connection pooling, I seem to be using a lot of connections in my application when only a few users are using the system. As part of our application we need to call database procedures for business logic.
Our backing beans, call methods on the application module which in turn call a database procedure. For instance in the backing bean we have code like this to call the application module method.

I have read in one of Steve Muench presentations (Oracle Fusion Applications Team' Best Practises) that calling the createRootApplicationModule method is a bad idea, and to call the method via the binding interface.
I am assuming calling the createRootApplicationModule uses much more resources and database connections that calling the method through the binding interface such as

Is this the case? Also is using getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement the best way of calling database procedures. Would it be better to expose plsql packages as webservices and then call them from the applicationModule. Is this more efficient?

ADF BC and direct database call from ActionListener Method

I am using jDev Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0 . Infact I need to call a PL/SQL api from the onSubmit method which I set in the action listener of submit button of the form.

Among the two methods call transaction is better compared to session bcoz data transfer is faster in it.

In the BDC call transaction method
We call the transaction FB01 2000 times (once for each record posting) and if the processing fails in record no 3 it can be captured and start with reocord 4.
Eg: Loop at itab.

In the session method.
We do not explicity call the transaction 2000 times, but all the records are appeneded into a session and this session is stored. The processinf of the session is done wwhenever the user wants it to be done. Hence the errors cannot be captured in the program itself

Batch Input Session method is asynchronous as told by others here. But the advantage of this is that you have all the error messages and the data for each transaction held persistantly. You don't have to code anything for processing them or writing the logs.
But at the same time, the same feature can be disadvantageous if you need to react to an error or if there are too many errors to manually correct in a session. Since the session are created in the program and its execution is done seperately, you loose the trackability of such transactions.
With a call transaction, what was a disadvantage above will become an advantage. Call transaction immediately gives you messages back and you can react to it in your program. But the disadvantage is that, if you have several hundreds of transactions to run, running them from within the program can be resource crunching affair. It will hamper the system performance and you cannot really distribute the load. Of course, you have some mechanisms with which you can overcome this, but you will have to code for it. Also, storing the messages and storing the errored transaction data etc will have to be handled by you in the program. Whereas, in batch input session, your program's job is to just create the session, after that everything is standard SAP system's responsibility.
Ideally, you should do a call transaction if the resources are not a problem and if it fails, put the errored transaction into a session.
You can decide based on the data volume that your BDC is processing. If data volume is high go for session else call transaction will do.The call transaction updates will be instantaneous where as session needs to be processed explictly after creation.
Session Method
1) Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data
2) data processing is asynchronus and data updation is synchronus.
3) it process multiple apllication while perfomaning validations.
4) in session method data will be updated in data base only after processing session only.
5) system provide by default logfile for handling error records.
6) it supports both foreground aswell as background process

New FIOS customer with dropped VOIP calls and Internet connection

I am a new FIOS customer. Got my 50/25 connection a week ago, switching from a TWC 6/1 connection. Ever since the new connection, I've had numerous issues.
My VOIP (Ooma) connection constantly drops and re-connects during conversations
I've had random Internet connection losses, which picks up again after a few minutes
My home alarm starts chirping every once in a while
I've contacted Verizon several times due to these problems and have received varying answers with no resolution of the problem.
The first time I spoke with support, the tech logged into my router and changed the WiFi channel saying that would fix the problem. It didn’t.
The second time I contacted them, the tech ran a bunch of diagnostics and said everything looked fine so it must be an IP address conflict with my devices, because I had a couple devices using static IP addresses. He said everythinf should be DHCP and the last two digits could not be higher than 99 (192.168.1.99). He said FIOS does not support 3-digit numbers at the end.
So I changed all my devices to DHCP and ran some online VOIP tests. It showed a packet loss of 2-5% and MOS score of 1 (which is bad). I was still getting dropped connections, so I disconnected all devices and connected just one computer to the router and tested again. I was still getting packet loss.
Then I called support a third time, this time the tech said there were no 2-digit IP restrictions and that he was detecting there was no UPS baterry backup for the ONT which was probably causing the problem, so he dispatched a field tech to my house.
Today the field tech came (same guy as before), he took one look at the box and said it was too close to my Electric meter and the RF from the meter was causing interference to the FIOS connection and resulting in dropped connection.
He moved the ONT to another location and said that should fix it.
Well, I'm still seeing packet loss and low MOS score when I run the VOIP test.
I don't know how much of what the techs are saying is true and how much is made up stuff.
Has anyone had similar issues and have thoughts on solutions or likely causes for dropped VOIP calls and connections? Could RF be causing this?
I thought going from a 6/1 Cable connection to a 50/25 FIOS connection would be awesome, but this has turned out to be a nightmare, and I may have to switch back to cable if the problem is not resolved.

Don't know where the packet loss is happening. I ran the VOIP test on myspeed.visualware.com and it shows a packet loss of 2-5% at different times and a MOS score of 1.
The report says MOS should be around 4 for good VOIP calls.
The Verizon tech who came to the house just blamed the electric meter box for RF interference and move the ONT farther away.
My concern is that I'm getting different answers from different techs at Verizon.
Regarding IP addresses. The Router shows a DHCP range from 192.162.1.2 to 192.168.1.254 as available for devices on the network. So, if I need to assign a static IP to a device should I use a number below 99 or above 151?

If your iPod Touch is telling you to connect to iTunes and when you do, you are prompted to Trust the computer but are unable to due to the device being disabled, you will need to put the device into Recovery Mode and restore it with this article:

Keep in mind this will delete all information on the iPod, and you will need to restore it from a backup:

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...
