Call Color change in FLASH CS6
I have a Flash file. I'm working on this demo project where I want to customize the color of the panels according to the thumbnails when clicked on them.
The colors of the front floor must change accordingly to the color respective to the thumbnail and same goes for the front wall colors.
to get a more clear cut idea, I have uploaded the .FLA file here at http://www.mediafire.com/?2ljw8l8q0xjdit4
The SWF file is here... http://www.mediafire.com/?y21f1w2jz1t24t4
Can anyone please help me out on this query on how i can implement it the simplest way possible without the use of Cold Fusion?
you can use the colortransform class to assign colors to displayobjects:
var ct:ColorTransform = yourdisplayobject.transform.colorTransform;
ct.color = whatever color;
yourdisplayobject.transform.colorTransform = ct;

Color Picker in Flash CS6 Changing My Picked Color
Program: Flash CS6
OS: Mountain Lion
Hardware: Intel MacBook Pro 2012
Steps to recreate issue:
1. Paint a color on the stage (brown seems to have the most dramatic results)
2. Use the color picker to sample the (brown) color from the stage
3. Use the paint bucket to apply the selected color to the stage
Result: the color painted from the sample color is not the color that has been originally sampled.
If you then sample the new color you have just applied, it again changes the color. Repeating this process over and over again eventually turns the color into the brightest red on the color palette.
Is anyone else have this issue or know how to correct it?
UPDATED: Attached is a link to the video of the issue in progress. For whatever reason my cursor doesnt show up correctly in the video, but what I am doing is using the color picker to sample the color and then painting the sampled color. As you can see from the video, the color becomes more and more red until it maxs out, even though I am just sampling the same color over and over again. The color on the left is the control color (the one that I originally sample) and the color on the right illustrates the bug.
video link:
http://vid.ly/5x8u6dI'm updating this thread mainly because it's the only thread I could find that describes my exact issue. I am having this problem. When I select a color using the color picker, it settles on a different, lighter color. THIS HAPPENS EVEN WHEN I ENTER THE HEX CODE VALUE. It's like Flash is auto-correcting a problem that doesn't exist. Help? This is becoming a serious problem for me!
Also Flash CS6, Mac OS X (10.8.2). The monitor I'm using shouldn't be relevant; Flash is literally changing the hex code value after I type it in or select it.
EDIT: Just did some research, found out that Flash isn't 10.8 compatible. When is that going to be fixed? -
Making a color changer in Flash?
If anyone can help me. I'm trying to do something similar to
this color selector.

Using simple code I can make the colors change, I just don't
know how they made the "wipe" or any other transition for that
matter when changing color.
any ideas?"Mr_Interweb" <[email protected]> wrote in

That's very interesting how you got that color selector to
work. good one!
I took a look at the code in your preloader. One thing that
is not right is that you are looping back to frame 2 where the
onEnterFrame is created. That means that you are creating
another onEnterFrame with every loop, (or wrecking the original
one).
I found that if I put your file tinter.swf in my cache, then
the preloader ended and the main file ran. If tinter.swf wasn't in
the
cache then the preloader just gets stuck.
Seems like the loadMovieNum is failing.
Anyway, instead of that you might want to do something like
this to make sure that you don't initialize onEnterFrame more than
one
time..
if(!initialized)
initialized = true; // block this init code next time
loadMovieNum("tinter.swf", 2);
this.onEnterFrame = function () // add 'this' here
... etc

How do I make a global color change in Flash CS5?
I am a rank Flash newbie, so maybe I'm missing something obvious. In InDesign or Illustrator, if I want to change every red object to blue, I can go into the color list, edit the red color to the blue values, and every instance of red in the document reflects the edit. I don't have to select each red element and pick the new blue for stroke and/or fill. I can't find how to do that in Flash, yet it's hard for me to believe that that capability is lacking. Help please!
i don't think there is such a setting in flash.

Program-wide color change across Illustrator CS6.
I'm in OS X 10.8.3 working in Illustrator CS6. I have a MacBook Pro hooked up to a calibrated NEC PA271W monitor.
I've been working on some CMYK design documents with a mix of process and Pantone. All art was created in Illustrator and is vector. Everything was going fine, colors looked great and super-accurate as they always do with this monitor. Then...
I was exporting my design to PDF via Save a Copy. As I always do for PDFs I'm sending to a client for review, I chose to convert the colors to destination sRGB in the PDF options dialogue so they can be reviewed on screen.
Upon viewing the PDF using QuickLook in the Finder, I noticed that—rather than being converted to sRGB and looking pretty-close to the CMYK AI file—the PDF was extremely dull as if all colors had been desaturated 50%.
I tried other variations of the export and could not get the colors to look right (note: I did the exact same exports many times over the last week and they always looked great). Finally, I restarted my comp thinking perhaps it was just a temporary bug.
Upon opening my design file back up in Illustrator -- all the elements in the design file itself as we'll as ALL color palettes within illustrator had the same horrible desaturated look! CMYK proof preview was not turned on it affects all files, even those that worked perfectly in the past. I didn't knowingly change any settings in Illustrator (is there a make-all-colors-look-grayed-out shortcut I don't know about?!).
This is killing me because I'm on a tight deadline. Things I've tried:
Trashed all custom color profiles and re-calibrated
Trashed all ColorSync prefs and cache
Ran ColorSync validation on all profiles, fixed those with problems
Checked that CS6 color was synchronized
Checked that all profiles on documents were correct (though I knew it wasn't this because of the random nature of the change.
Restarted my Mac a bunch of times.
Ran Onyx automated cleaning.
I am at my wit's end -- any suggestions for what might be causing this?got another monitor? got another computer? if you have another monitor, hook it up. if not and you have another computer altogether, look at the pdf in acrobat on it.

Fill Color Changes When I Paste a Shape, Flash CS6
Whenever I paste, or paste in place, a shape (this does not happen with strokes), the fill color I currently have selected will change to match the color of what I've just pasted. If I paste something with multiple colors, it randomly chooses one of those colors to switch to. I've tried running searches online for what this phenomenon is, or how to change it, but I've come up with nothing. I'm using a mac, but a friend uses Flash CS6 on her windows machine, and it does the same thing. This doesn't happen in CS4.
Is there a workaround? Or is this an annoying new feature I just have to live with?I can only verify what you see and explain the behavior but I do not believe there is any way to alter that behavior. When the new object is added to the stage (via paste) Flash makes sure to select it and it's unavoidable (and desired behavior) that it would trigger the contextual (color) panels with the correct information for the current selection. This appears to be a bug in that regard.
You can always report it in a bug submission, I think the behavior is a clear bug and it should be easy to fix. It affects CS6 which is still a current product (due to AS2.0 support mostly), and CC, so it's important. Good find!

My Adobe Flash CS6 Color Picker has ODD colors. I'm using Mac Mini OSX 10.8.1. Is there a fix?
I click on the color picker and where I have seen the normal #0000ff blue color on my windows computer, this mac Mountain lion version shows a purple-ish color. Oddly, If I enter the hex # into the color picker, and use it as a fill, the correct color displays on the stage but when i use the eyedropper on that color, it shows it as the purple color again on the toolbar.
I've seen a similar thing like this happen when using adobe photoshop. However, the usual solution is to just make the managed color profile set to monitor RGB. The only downside with Flash is there is no preference to set that. The color palette in Adobe Photoshop displays as it should with the correct blue.
I should also note that I'm using a Samsung 941bw monitor with my mac mini which could also be part of the problem.
I figured i'd make this post anyway just in case it's the OS & Adobe Flash CS6 and not the monitor.
I've included a screenshot as well that shows that i've chosen the purple color and then made a rectangle shape on the stage and it comes out blue.
Thanks ahead for your response(s)
-LineSeems misleading that on the adobe site for Adobe Flash CS6 it says:
System requirements:
Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7. Adobe Creative Suite 5, CS5.5, and CS6 applications support Mac OS X Mountain Lion (v10.8) when installed on Intel based systems.** -
Why does the color change when I open a warm image in Photoshop CS6?
Whenever I open a warm color image in Photoshop CS6, the color of the image automatically changes? Please see the attached screenshots below.
What is the solution to this problem? Please Help.
I use Windows 7 Ultimate. Photoshop CS6.
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics 2000There is no "problem" to "fix". A raw file is just the data captured by the sensor, not yet an image. To produce a useful image it needs to be processed in a raw converter, either automatically in-camera or with a standalone converter (ACR).
The camera LCD shows you an in-camera processed jpeg, according to the camera manufacturer's idea of how the raw data should be interpreted. There is nothing inherently "correct" about this, and a lot of the original data have been thrown away in the process.
ACR doesn't make any assumptions about how the final image should look. It shows you a neutral starting point, with default settings to preserve as much of the original data as possible. The rest is up to you. You're not supposed to just accept the defaults. The sliders are there for a reason.
You can change the ACR defaults at any time if you come up with settings that are more to your taste. -
Changing background color in a flash exe
Hi folks,
I am trying to change the background color in a flash 8 .exe file that seems to extract setup variables via an xml file. The xml file reads as follows:
*?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?*
*settings*
*min*10000*/min*
*max*10119*/max*
*exclude*
*range min="12" max="14"**/range*
*range min="16" max="18"**/range*
*/exclude*
*putbackin*false*/putbackin*
*titletext**![CDATA[*font color="#000000" size="60"*TEXT*br/*TEXT*br/**/font*]]**/titletext*
*errortext*ERROR: no more numbers*/errortext*
*/settings*
I had to replace the < > parentheses with * to get it to display here.
When I run the application the flash application reads the above xml file and sets the variables require for the program to function.
Can I set the background color via this file or is it impossible to do without editing the original flash exe file? If it can be done, then where do I insert the code?
Appreciate any assistance. Thanks.It is hard to say if the tag... <backgroundColor="white"> is intended to be the data defining the background area color, though you could try different colors and see. Since it is using "white", I'd suspect you have a very limited set of options--normally it would be specified as a hexidecimal value: 0XFFFFFF. Try changing it to "back" just for starters and see if anything changes to your expectations.
If that doesn't change what you wish, then you would likely need to edit the original source file to get something different. -
Flash CS6 exported mov color issue
Hi, I'm using Flash CS6 in mac, I realized that when I export the animation to mov (tested different codec), the color will be lighter, please see the bellowing screenshot.
Does anyone have the same issue? how to solve it?
Thanks a lot!
PYI've got around this issue, by exporting from Ai to SWF. Its a shame the Import Ai to Flash Library seems to be doing this to quite a few of my vector illustrations. where only 1 or 2 curves are being lost when it comes to export but work fine within the Flash workspace.

How to change the language setting in Adobe Flash CS6, from Chinese to English?
How to change the language setting in Adobe Flash CS6, from Chinese to English?
Unless you have a multilanguage serial/ installer, you are on Creative Cloud or care to run through language swap you can't. Retail serial numbers are language specific and most Adobe apps cannot be coerced or switched on the fly since without the proper language resources installed, this won't work...

Embedded Flash Background Color Changes in iWeb
Bit of an odd one this. I built a Flash movie with a black background, published it out, uploaded it to my web server, then successfully embedded it in iWeb.
The trouble is when I view it in iWeb the background color of the Flash file changes to white. When I view the swf directly off my web server (not through iWeb) or directly locally (again not through iWeb) the background appears as black.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.How are you embedding the file in iWeb?
I have an example of the code for a snippet here...
http://roddymckay.com/VisualMedia/FlashAnimation.html
In this you can set the background color number to black - #000000. I you can get the frame size right and the movie has a constant aspect ratio, you shouldn't have to set the background. -

Photoshop CS6 save for web some colors change?
I have a picture with large area of color: #fffdfd, when I save it for web (jpg) this color is changed to #fefcfd (in JPG).
I just can not save as JPG with #fffdfd.
(was trying uncheck convert to sRGB, do not embed color profile - always #fffdfd changes to #fefcfd when save for web)
However, color #fefcfd when save for web , does not change.
Why some colors change and some not? Is it a bug ?
Window7 64bit, Photoshop CS6Save for Web & Devices will strip some color data from the file.
Browsers aren't color managed. Most file formats on browsers assume they're sRGB. While Photoshop gives you an option of embedding sRGB to the document color space, it also strips off data that is not relevant. This is a common occurence.
PNG-24 on the other hand will give you the exact color match.
Also, Save for W&D, JPG quality matters a lot - The same color at Quality 10,20,30,40,50...100 wil give you different color reproductions on the JPG end output.
If you're concerned that much about an offset of +/- 1 hex value to your RGB colorspace, dont save for web & devices. Do a 'Save As' instead. Then use an image editing/ resizing application such as ResizeMe to resize the quality of your document. This, in most cases will retain colorspace information but just drop the resolution and quality of the image - giving you a lesser filesize.

Flash CS6 crashes when compiling iOS app
Hi there,
I'm stumped. I built an app in Flash CS6. The app has 70 swfs in its asset folder. When I test on the desktop, all is good. Unfortunately, Flash crashes when I try to publish via Ad hoc deployment with AIR 3.2 (also 3.4). The weird thing I noticed was the app publishes fine if I only have 45 swfs in the folder. As soon as I go to 46 swfs...crash. I tested to see if it mattered which 46, but the results were the same...crash. None of the swfs have code – just images and some movieclips. I even tried to increase my disk space...still crashed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If it will help, here is my crash report:

One is large vector files with a lot of points; in other words stuff brought in from Illustrator or trace bitmapped from within the program so you might try reducing the amount of points in your art if you'r working with imported art. Flash seems to work best when all art has been created within the program. If you've converted it to vector via the Trace Bitmap or Illustrator's Live Trace it doesn't like that either. It also tends to bog down with high resolution bitmaps, especially with many layers (which greatly add to the file size) so you might try to flatten some of the art to make it more managable. In general, maybe see if you can reduce whatever file sizes you can in your project before you import them. I typically have some pretty big libraries and Flash doesn't crash so much for me so changing your workflow a bit might be useful. IF it's code that's crashing the render, that I can't help you with, but there's some pretty knowledgable people on this board who might be able to help in that regard.
