Call cut out problems

Hi, please can anyone tell me how to fix the problem of all calls being cut off after 4+ minutes or so? I've a 3GS iphone, the problem started the minute I upgraded software to 4.3.1
The phone takes a couple of minutes with the apple pic on the screen before I can use it again.
It's out of warrenty now and not due for upgrade for 2 more months! I've restored all settings, taken teh SIM out and put it back in etc and restored Newtork settings too.
help?!
Is there some way of undoing the upgrade so it works again as it's seems too much of a coincidence - other friends of mine are having uncannily similar problems since their new software was loaded too...
I don't live near an apple store either!

I´ve got the Same Proplem...
ive got it earlyer with 3.x
and now since 4.2
after 5min Calling it Restarts(the apple is shown on the display)
then after 3-5 min it is like LOCKED... no simPin Entry...
it works well when i´m calling again it will do the same.
But sometimes it restarts very early .. or i can call for ours.
And the performance and Battery life is also BAD ...
but with battery i think it will be better for the time ios 4.3.1 is installed( it dont make sens but it seemed so)
i hope someone reeds this and fix this problem

Calls cutting out, then back in, then out....

I have been having trouble for a few months now with calls cutting out, then going back in, then going back out...it makes for very frustrating phone calls. It doesn't happen all the time. It's totally random. It seems, though, that if it starts to cut out in one phone call, it'll keep cutting out on that call until I hang up and call back. And even then it doesn't fix it. It's not when I'm roaming (or even moving...sometimes it'll happen if I'm just sitting in one place), it's not when I'm talking to one person in particular, and it's very unpredictable. The person I'm talking to will just randomly start saying "Hello? Hello? Are you there?" and they can't hear me saying "Yes!" back at them. I can hear them the whole time, even though they can't hear me. Then, randomly, they'll be able to hear me, and it'll be okay for a bit. I talked to a Verizon rep on the phone recently about this and she recommended calling #228 (or something like that?) and updating. I did that, but it didn't do anything for this problem.
Any ideas? I like this phone overall, and don't really want to get a different one. I am not due for an upgrade until a year from now anyway.

Me personally, I think it is a software issue.
My wife has a Rhyme with same issue you describe. As long as she is in a strong cell area, great phone. Once she gets on the fringe, it's anybodies guess.
I say I think it is a software issue because she has had three of these phones and they all behave the same way. My Droid Razr Maxx had the same issue (and some others that were the same on the Ryhme) that cleared up completely when I got the upgrade to ICS. Where we live is a fringe area for 4g and my phone is on 3g more than 4g and now comes in clear as a bell where hers is still flakey. She also still has a Autorotate and proximity to the face issue that I had on my Razr Maxx that cleared up with ICS. The upgrade to ICS for the Rhyme was promised for almost a year ago and still hasn't happened. I think the phone and software people have determined it's not economically feasible for them to continue work on this phone since it's a 3g device. Just my opinion.

Lumia 1020 call cut outs after Black update

My calls have problems after Black update. Either reciever can not hear me or I can not hear him for long periods. Tested SIM in other phone on same net on same location and seems to be Nokia problem.

I don't have that problem, but do the calls cut out after ringing for something like 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or ...?

N73 - problem - sound cuts out in calls - please a...

Hi, I have an N73 and it's been fine (apart from the top of the joystick falling off and the charger just deciding to stop working) but now I have a major problem.
When I make a call or someone calls me the phone just cuts out all the time as if there is a very bad reception. I've made sure the reception isn't the case and it seems the person on the other end of the line can hear me fine. I've also tried turning the volume down, up, turning the phone on, off. It doesn't do this in every call, but I have to avoid using it because it will do it on at least 90% of calls! The phone is generally in good condition and I do look after it (I'm stuck with it for 18 months) I use this phone for work and it's embarassing and impossible sometimes, T-Mobile won't do anything and I'm very close to throwing it at a wall when it does this!
Anyone else got this problem? Anyone know what I can do?!

However if your phone doesnt have the latest FW, check it *#0000# upgrade it.
Or if it is havin, try reinstallin it.
Or, you can do a hard reset, *#7370#.
Next, if all of thses things fails, take trip to nokia care.

i have just updated my iphone 4 16gb to an iphone 5 16gb
The iphone 4 had horrific problems, for example: Cutting out on calls, it going silent, me not being able to hear the person i was speaking to and them being able to hear me, and then visa vera.. also the main button at the bottom started to break.. my text messages weren't sending and then when they did they would send several of the same one.. also with mixed messages in them.. some of the texts had been form ages ago and had been deleted anyway and bits of them would re appear in the middle of the text, but only show to the person recieveing the text.
I thought all of this might have been some water damage as i had nearly had it for 2 years... However on Tuesday.. ( 29th Jan) i recieved my new upgrade of the iphone 5.. i was so excited, but then today.. 2 days after recieving it, its starting to do EXACTLY the same things my old phone did... cutting me off, going quiet on the phone, not sending texts, then sending several ones... sending mixed texts. Safe to say i am fuming!!! i am with vodafone and rang them today asking why?! they said it couldnt be my handset as its a new one, couldnt be the sim because thats new too so it must be the area signal.. so she checked for me.. came back to me and said that the signal in my area is perfectly fine....?!?!?! that makes it even worse!!! so i have asked to return it....!! i was going to go with a different provider thinking that it was vodafone??but after looking on here it seems like its apple? i am very disappointed as i love everything else about the phone, but its impossible to have a phone like this! especially when i use it for work too!

My wife is having the same problems as a reciever. She works in a school as a teaching assistant and her teacher sends messages that are mixed with previous texts from ages ago.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem or is it only her and this poster?

Bluetooth cutting out during calls

Am having issues with my bluetooth (plantronics 320) cutting out while on calls. i have a treo 680 and the bluetooth cuts out frequently. have used other bluetooths and have had the same problem. the bluetooth does not disconnect just cuts out, if i hang up and call right back it works fine. anybody else having this problem

It sounds like the Bluetooth headset is not compatible with the device. To be sure check this list: http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/na/treo/680/att/solutions/article/41198_en.html.
Another possibility could be the headset itself is not working correctly. By any chance can you test this headset with another phone or Treo?

Iphone 5 cutting out mid-call

I have had problems with my 5 cutting out mid-call. It's happened several times with different callers, which makes me think it's my phone. It gives me the 'call failed' screen. There is no apparent reason for it - no signal drop, for instance - and so I wondered if this is a common problem or whether I have a duff phone and need to return it. Thoughts?

I've had the reception (tinny, robotic voice, intermitent voice quality) since purchasing my iPhone 5 two days ago.
Yesterday I had to go to the Verizon store (sent there by online tech from Verizon). I was talking on my phone to a friend as I drove to the Verizon store and as I pulled into the parking lot of the store (with 5 full bars on 3G) the call got dropped and "Call Failed" showed up on the screen. I looked at the phone to make sure I had service and I did, full bars all the way ??

Nokia 5800 - Cuts out during every call!!

I have had my 5800 since last August and over the last couple of months it just cuts out somewhere between the 2 - 3 minute mark of a call regardless of if I have made or received the call.
I have never updated the software etc. My partner also has the same phone and he hasn't got this issue.
Any suggestions from the forum?

I have this phone too and mine does not do what you are describing. I have not seen any other posts on this subject so I guess you may have a problem with your handset.

AirTunes with AirportExpress cut or drop out problems - my solution...

I buyed 2 of the Airport Extreme one month ago (Firmware 6.3, Itunes 7.1.1), never got them working fine, till yesterday...
I have A Zyxel ADSL WLAN Router Switch. WPA-PSK as I wanted a secure Network. Both of the AX were connected with static IPs. WLAN was always working fine, but I had many cut outs with airtunes. I wanted a solution with lossles streaming audio with the possibility to connect my Receiver digitally. That's why I bought my first Apple hardware, as I was always told, Apple=Plug'n play. Very frustrating!
I tried other switches, Routers, WLAN adapters and cards, nothing worked. Airfoil does not support multiple speakers yet, so it's useless for me.
In the FAQ of the Airtunes, Apple mentioned to use lower security, as some Computers probably do not have enough power to stream music flawlessly. But my Computers really do have enough power! I think the AX does not have enough power to do that. So I created another wireless network with one of my AX. I set the security to WEP-40bit key and joined this new Network with my other AX. Not the best solution, as I'm now connected to the Internet or to the AX to use Airtunes. Cables could fix that problem, but then I could use a wired system instead...
I use Channel 11 for the AX WLAN (the only clean channel in my area), Multicast to 11, only G mode for Wireless and a 5 characters WEP-40 key and no WDS. Seems to work at the moment.
I hope this will help others with the cut or drop out problem. If you have a working AirTunes system, please post your setup. Mostly I'm interested in a Setup with working WPA...

Sorry, I forgot to write about the RF Interference. Belive me, I spent hours and hours searching for a solution in the Internet and every checkbox the Admin utility offered me to try out... I'm working as a system engineer, and supporting computer systems since the early 90ties, so I'd say I have a bit knowledge about all the networking, WLAN, Audio... In school we had the Apple Mac I with the 12" monochrome monitor and appletalk for networking quite funny!
But back to the RF interference: At the moment I activated it on both AX I own. I have a microwave, wireless phone and I'm living in a Area with many WLAN access points. I can choose between 6 networks!
I'm the only one with a network higher than channel 6, so this area is clean at least.
As my AirTunes do work at the moment, I'm not going to try if I could also deactivate it.
Next step is to try if I can connect the AX Router to the internet. A connection to my ADSL router should do that, but up to now I had very strange behavior when plugging in a ethernet cable to the AX. If this will work, it will be my final solution, at the moment I only see it as a workaround...

Why is the sound of my new ipad cutting out intermittently and what does Apple recommend to solve the problem in lieu of any updates? All of a sudden without changing any settings, the audio on my NEW ipad cuts in and out on applications/ games, keypad noise and lock sounds. The rocker button only seems to work while the sound is intermittently being heard before, after a few seconds of noise not doing anything when sound goes off.
This is highly frustrating as I've noticed others posting about such issues as far back as April. Anybody had the same thing happen to them? Is this likely software (ios6) or hardware issue? What are the solutions Apple???

Apple has no physical stores of their own in Dubai, so unless you mean that you purchased from the online Apple Store for the UAE, you purchased from a dealer, who may or may not have been authorized. You can check the expiration date of the warranty on your iPad yourself by entering in the serial number here:

If it does indeed show the warranty has expired, then what you need to do from here will depend on who you purchased the iPad from and when you really did purchase it. Perhaps you actually purchased it in August and are just misremembering? Check your receipt. If you confirm that you did purchase within the last calendar year, tell us exactly where you got it and we can probably offer advice.

New iphone 4s speaker keeps cutting out on calls and have to put it on external speaker, this is happening to others I have called today with the same phone. Is there a fix?

My wife has a new 4s and quite often her phone speaker cuts out during a call and she has to put it on speakerphone. Telus tech support tells me this is a known issue yet there doesn't seem to be an update to the phone available in itunes yet. So far today we have talked to two other people who live in our area with the same phone and same issue. One went so far as to buy a jawbone for $150 to work around it not knowing it was a software issue. Is this a software fix or do we need to do a hardware swap? Is there a fix out or on the way?

My gf was having the same issues and also with a big echo every time I called her either from my 4S or even fron a land line as per other comments here. They told he to take it into the Apple store and they reset the software and now it's working fine.....so far.
Now today my bluetooth earpiece has decided to stop working for some unknown reason and then the last person that called me said my phone keep cutting out. I don't know whether that was because I had to turn off my bluetooth to answer the phone or what.
I suspect Apple will be sending out an update to fix some of these reported issues but in the meantime the local Apple store seems to be the only option. Just hoping I don't have to take that option as that would require a huge inconvenience for me as neither of the two stores in the Vanvouver area are remotely close to me.
