Call details frame from master frame in report 10g

Hi
I have i am using oracle 10g reports
i have two frame one for State master(Main Frame Name : M_G_state_name,Repeatig Fram name : G_State)
and other for city master(Main Frame Name : M_G_city_name,Repeatig Fram name : G_city)
in state master frame two feild State code and State Name and in city Master Frame three feild as city_code,city_name,State_code
i want that when i click on State_code of State master Frame then it show City details city master Frame of selected state.
i have no idea how can do these.please help me

Hi,
I am calling a BSP from a BW Web Report to Report Interface and during the call all users have to authenticate themselves. It is not an option to turn authentication off for audit purposes but is there any way of performing automatic authentication?
Both the web report and BSP are on the same BW instance.

How to pass multiple values from master to child report

Hello,
How would I pass multiple prompts from the master to child report? So for example, say I want to pass a 'Country' value along with a 'City' value
Would it be?

what is the syntax for this?
It is exactly how you have posted in your original note.
"&lsSCountry="+[Country]+"&lsSCity="[City]
This will work providing the target report has a prompt called "Country" and another prompt called "City". Note that your prompt and what you pass between the &lsS and the equal (=) must match exactly, otherwise OpenDocument will not communicate the prompt title to InfoView properly and InfoView will stop and execute the prompt to get the info it needs before running the report. Have you tried what you've posted originally to see if it executes without a problem?

Calling ORACLE Functions from within CF Builder report

Hi, I have an ORACLE function that I would like to call from within my CF REPORT.
I know there is a section in the report builder where you can write coldfusion code to perform tasks, but I would rather simply call the ORACLE function for each detail row in the report
I do not want to call this function from within my main ORACLE query that I use for the report, so please don't suggest that.

Can you try configuring sender adapter to poll the data in intervals. You can configure Automatic TIme planning (ATP) in the sender jdbc channel.
I need to select the data from different tables based on some conditions. Let me simplify that.
Suppose Table1 contains 'n' no of rows. For each row, I need to test two conditions where only one condition will be satisfied. If 1st condition is satisfied, then data needs to be taken from Table2 else data needs to be taken from Table3.
How can we meet this by configuring sender adapter with ATP?

If you use join query in the select statement field of the channel then whatever you need select fields will be returned. This might be fields of two tables. your datatype fields are combination of two diff table.

Asking for login details jumping from BW to SS report at Portal site

Hi Guys
Our BW reports are avilable from protal for user's.
Now the issue we are facing is when we jump from BW report to source system(SRM) report, it is aksing for login details for source system. where as at portal site it should not ask for login deatils. And we are facing this issue only in QA system and not PRD system.
M not sure where things are going wrong. I have checked SSO. nothing seems to be wrong here also.

I may not be correct. But does the user id which you are using (both in QA & Prod) have same settings for User-Type (<i>SU01 -> Logon Data -> User Type</i>). ?
Also u can check the RFC Settings (SM59).

How can I call a variable from VBA in Diadem report?

I have a script in Diadem, script that I can control from a VBA application ( from Excell), and I want to send from Excell some details to the report.
I want in the report, the Local Test Order field to by the LocalTO from the VBA (Excell), the DVM Test Order fiel to be the DVMTO from Excell, and ..... al the fields from the excell to be in the report.
And in the Diadem script the filename of the export .pdf file to be the filename from the Excell.
Attached I put the script from Diadem and the VBA application.

Calling stored procedure from a column in report

Hi All,
I am new to APEX. I did a search on this forum but couldnt get an exact answer.
I know how to call or execute a stored procedure from a button. like create a PL/SQL anonymous bloack and asssociate it with the button.
my issue is a bit different. I have a report with 11 columns. the last column just says 'delete' for all the rows(i did this in my report query like SELECT x,y,z,...., 'delete' AS delete). when i click this cell for any row(this column can be a hyperlink or any clickable element), i want to call a stored procedure that takes parameters as the values in column 2 and column 4 for that particular row.
for example, my report looks somethnig like below,
FILE_ID MEMBER_CD ACTION
112 ABCD delete
113 WXYYZ delete
114 PQRS delete
i want to click the 'delete' in first row that should call a stored procedure and pass 112 and ABCD as parameters to the procedure.
i have the procedure as a process now. sturggling to bind this column to procedure but no success :(

Thanks man! that was a great help. looks like i am almost there. i created those items t obe hidden.
now i am passing three parameters to the procedure. my url for that column value looks like this,

the #DBC# parameter is a name of the person that has spaces(firstname lastname). i am getting a javascript error saying,

Error:Expected ';'
i see that char 37 is the space after firstname.
any idea how i should get rid of this error.
Also, as you have been very helpful, a question further beyond :). the above procedure will return a OUT varchar parameter. i guess i have to create another item for that. how do i read it and display just below my report as text.

Call a Screen from A selection screen report

Hi Friends,
I developed a report (1. Excecutable) and i am calling a screen say 9000 which is having several subscreens. While i am clicking the BACK button it should come to the same selection screen report. How to do this? We can't use LEAVE SCREEN or LEAVE TO SCREEN 0. Because 9000 screen having the subscreen. If i use LEAVE PROGRAM it won't come to selection screen. Instead it will come out of program.

We can come from screen to selection screen of the report by using -- "LEAVE TO LIST PROCESSING".

Hello I have an Interactive Report. I would like to have a Dynamic Action called when the user selects a row (Clicks a Link).
I am running Application Express 4.0.2.00.07 on Oracle 11gR1.

Sorry for the poorly written original post. I will be much more specific.
I have a Interactive Report on page 40. That report has a column named X_UID that is a link back to page 40 and sets a text item named P40_X_UID in a Region we will call "Form X" with the value of the column. That page refresh also then calls a Automated Row Fetch process to fetch all the values needed for the rest of the page items in the "Form X" region. Also "Form X" region has a conditional display on to only display when P40_X_UID is not null.
What I would like to do:
When the user clicks on link in the IR for X_UID instead of the "Form X" region becoming visible I would like to become modal. I am trying to use a Plug-In named "ClariFit Simple Modal - Show". I have it working with a Dynamic Action when you click a Page Item. But I would like to to work when the link is clicked and the data populated.

How to call a FM from batch in a report.

In a Z_FM, I am using CO_DR_PRINT_ORDER_EXTERNAL to print production orders and displaying the success msg but it is giving performance issues.
So we are planning to run this FM (CO_DR_PRINT_ORDER_EXTERNAL) in a batch job and immediately return the success msg.
Please suggest how could I achieve this functionality in Z_FM.

Then you can call remote enabled custom FM as Call Function...starting in New Task..

It is capable of pulling from CallManager, but not CME (unless there is a SQL interface that I don't know of - somebody emailed me asking just this question, I'm looking into a way to possibly code a solution around CME once I get a little more info. The last I knew, CME could only spit out CDR to syslog, for later parsing. Has this changed?

Problem calling a form from another form in oracle 10g

i have created A basic STUDENT form with all fields and the STUDENT/COURSES master/detail form .
I am trying to place to button on the STUDENT form that when pressed, will call the STUDENT/COURSES form and automatically query the COURSES for the employee being viewed on the STUDENT form.
here is the code i used

Ammad is right, in order to pass a parameter to another Form, the Form you call must have a corresponding parameter. In other words, if you go to the Parameters node of the Object Navigator you need to add a parameter called "STUDENTID" and set the data type and precision of the parameter to match the data you will pass to this parameter.
Once you have this parameter in your called form, you will have to write code in the called form to use the value of the parameter. This code is typically in the When-New-Form-Instance (WNFI) trigger, but that all depends on your requirements. In your example, this seems the appropriate trigger as your intent is to pass the Student ID and query any Courses the Student is enrolled in. Your WNFI trigger needs to check if there is a value in the Student_ID parameter and then set the default where clause of your COURSES datablock and execute a query on the block. For example:
