Call drop while talking long distance and strange number in log

Talking to relative in NY, call dropped with no dial tone after that.  Unplugged all phones, checked the connection box.  Dial tone came back after about 15 minutes.  Checking the digital phone log revealed that {edited for privacy}was listed as being called 7 times during the time of no dial tone.  Looking at the log again showed that {edited for privacy} was called eight times yesterday.  About a call a minute to this number.  Have no idea what this number is.  It seems that everytime the calls are dropped, this is the number in the log.  What is happening?

The alarm system checks out OK, strange number was just the system making the regular 28 day call.  Calls are still dropping, mostly after talking for a long time.  Can call the number back immediately and get connected.  Dial tone is not missing for these latest incidents, althought it was missing once in the past.   Also have an answering machine that  clicks at random as if someone is picking up a phone.  Answering machine is set to 4 rings and digial voice answering is set to 6 rings.  The whole system worked fine when installed, now is a constant problem.  Going to start disconnecting things and probably run a wire from the box directly to one phone.  Is there a tracer that can be hooked up to monitor the line?

  • Nokia Lumia 710 call drop while talking

Hi, always used Nokia, month ago purchased 710, it is fast, beautiful, but one serious problem is, it is periodically ends the conversation, it happens randomly, 2 or 3 times a day, sometimes after 40 seconds another one after 40 minutes, i made hard reset,  only 2G is on, made the latest update - did not help, the same thing.
Someone can say its not a problem, but for me its a big problem, tell me please this is the problem of hardware or software, or maybe sim card?
    Solved!

  • My number has been showing up as calling people while in my possession and sometimes off.  How does this happen?  How do I stop it?

My number has been showing up as calling people while in my possession and sometimes off.  How does this happen?  How do I stop it?
I've tried to contact facebook support and been trying to get on live chat for hours to no avail.  Please help me stop annoying people.

A month ago I received a spoofed call at 6A - obviously I was not happy. Came from 000-0000000 as I recall.
Tonight I had two irate people call me minutes apart saying I called them - I was eating dinner with my wife with my phone turned off in our eye-sight.
I cannot believe that we allow spoofing software and spoof cards these days, with only a crime if someone asks for money or does some similar fraudulent activity.

  • Unlimited calls in Mexico, includes long distance ...

    Hello,
I'm wondering if the Unlimited calls plan to Mexico include calls to long distance cell phones (045).
    http://skype.com/intl/en-us/prices/subscriptions/new-unlimited-plans-mexico-russia-brazil?intcmp=ch1...
That would be amazing and would sign up immediatly for years to come.

    Thank you for your reply.
I forgot to ask on my first post if the Unlimited calls plan includes all cities in Mexico, or is the plan limited to certain cities (Mexico, Monterrey, etc)?
    Thanks again.
There are 4 different "unlimited" subscriptions for Mexico, so you would want to be careful in purchasing the right one...
    1. The "Unlimited Mexico Cities" subscription at US$ 6.99/month only covers calls to landline phones in the 3 largest Mexican cities: Mexico City (+52 55), Guadalajara (+52 33), and Monterrey (+52 81). Calls to landline phones outside these 3 area codes, along with calls to any Mexican mobile phone, would have to be paid for with Skype Credit.
    2. The "Unlimited North America" subscription at US$ 7.99/month covers calls to landline phones in the 3 largest Mexican cities listed above, along with all landline and mobile phones in the USA and Canada.  Calls to landline phones in other parts of Mexico, along with any Mexican mobile phone, would have to be paid for Skype Credit.
    3. The "Unlimited Mexico" subscription for landline phones at US$ 19.99/month covers calling to all landline phones in Mexico, not just those in the 3 big cities.  You would still need Skype Credit to cover calls to Mexican mobile phones with this subscription.
    4. The "Unlimited Mexico" subscription for landline and mobile phones at US$ 59.99/month covers calls to all landline and mobile phones throughout Mexico.
Note that calls to Mexican toll-free numbers (those advertised as 01-800 numbers in Mexico) are not possible with Skype.  For these numbers, most operators of Mexican toll-free numbers will offer a non-free number as an alternative - usually for those in and around Mexico City at a local Mexico City landline number (+52 55).  All subscriptions have a fair-use policy.  You can click on "Subscriptions" at the bottom of this page and enter Mexico as the desired country, then you can switch between landline-only subscriptions and those for both landlines and mobiles.  You can also change the currency, if you want to see prices other than US dollars as I've listed them or in euros (the default currency used on that page).
    Hope that helps!

  • Im from argentina and i got a problem with my earphone of the iphone 4s when i make a call i earphone or speaker make and strange noise or like an interference during the call and when i finish the call still doing the same noise and i dont know why?

my eraphone of my iphone 4s white unlocked make strange noises during the call and still doing the noise like an interference or saturing the spekaer

This is a common problem with iPhone 4s (and IOS 5)  There isn't ' anything you can do about it, so you're best bet is to go down to the store and get an exchange. If you have an older iPhone (3gs/4) roll back your update from IOS 5 to IOS 4.

Do you receive any error or warning message when the connection drops?
Are you accessing any specific features when this happens?
Are you always in the same environment when you have this issue?
What steps do you need to perform to restore your connection?

I have an ipohne 4 and i have unlocked it at the moment im using T Mobile sim card and the signals apearsjust for few seconds and goes back to no service so i can't call any body while i call before it connects it just hangs up by it sel. why is that if ii could get some  help to fix the problem thanks.

T-Mobile is not a supported iPhone carrier. Best to call them. But since they dont carry it, they will tell you to call Apple. In turn, will do nothing. T-mobile is terrible anyway.

  • Oracle, Longs, Varchar2s, and the number 2000

    Eric,
I have seen a similar problem related to retrieving Varchar2 from Oracle from
a stored procedure parameter. In this case, even though a Varchar2 variable
in the stored procedure could exceed 2000 characters, it always came back to
    forte truncated to 2000 characters.

    Hello Alexey,
The reason Reports requires strongly typed ref cursors to be returned to it is that, with weak ref cursors the list of columns returned by the cursor cannot be determined at report design time. For a weak ref cursor, the data will be populated based on a query specified only at runtime. As a result, you will not be able to add any layout to your report, since the query group will be empty.
Please take a look at the reply in the post below on the same topic, for a method to retrieve data from a stored procedure returning a weakly typed ref cursor:
    Re: Reports On Ref Cursor

  • How to increase the size and the number of log files

    OS Win2000 BD version Oracle8.0.5
When i Execute a big Transaction, for example: Insert into a table with 100,000 records,
Oracle tell me that archive log require,
    but I write log_archive_start =true in init.ora;
I think Maybe the size of log file too small?
    Any other suggestion?
    Thanks

    Hello Long Guohui,
If your Database is running in Archive Log mode and if the Automatic Archiving is not enable then obviously Oracle
will ask that "Archive Log Required".
But if your Database is running with NoArchive Log mode then Oracle should never ask you that "Archive Log Required".
If your Database is running with Archive Log Mode then Oracle always recommends that the Tablespace where
you are going to Insert the 1,00,000 records, make that Tablespace Mode from Logging to Nologging, so that
Archive will not be generated for those entries because Redo does not Generate for that Tablespace as it is
Running in Nologging mode. If Redo generates for those 1,00,000 entries then it may affect the other DML
executing in you Database. So it is always recommended to do like this. But after the Insertion is done
successfully Oracle recommends immediately takes the Back of that Tablespace where you have just
    Inserted 1,00,000 Data.
    For making a Tablespace Nologging:
    ALTER TABLESPACE <TABLESPACE NAME> NOLOGGING;
For Making a Database from NoArchive to Archive:
    1)     SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE
    2)     IN THE init<sid>.ora FILE SET THE FOLLOWING PARAMETER WITH VALUE:
    LOG_ARCHIVE_START = TRUE
    3)     STARTUP MOUNT
    4)     ALTER DATABASE ARCHIVE LOG
    5)     ALTER DATABASE OPEN

  • Program Long Distance Card

I'm wondering if it is possible to with just one click make a LD call to a contact in my contact list and automatically have the call charged to my LD card.
I was used to my cellphone which allowed me to call any # from my contact list and when I held the send key for 2 seconds it automatically recognized I wanted to make a LD call and charge it to my calling card, which was already programmed in the phone.
Or is it possible to have the BB recognize any LD number prefixed with a 0 should be charged to my LD card, without having to type in my LD card # and PIN all the time.
I don't want to pre-program all my LD contacts with the calling card #, because sometimes I find my self in the city where my contacts are, and I need to call them locally.

For each of these contacts, you can store one phone number for Long Distance and one phone number for local calls. So when you call one of the, you just choose which one you want to use. I hope you don't have too many contacts

  • Long Distance (USA)

Is my long distance free or do I need a discount carrier like I had before.

Since this is the general forum for Verizon Residential products, all sorts of possibilities
You did not identify what you have.   FIOS essentials, Fios Digital Voice, non-fios etc.?
Freedom Essntials and Digital Voice inlude long distance (all US and some other areas).  Most other packages such as Local and regionals you have to add long distance and have options such as Verizon Five Cents Plan and eValues.

  • How to add "1" in front of area code and phone number?

The phone numbers I imported into my iPhone from my Address Book don't have a "1" in front of them. So now, when I'm out of town and want to dial a number from Contacts, an automated message from my carrier tells me the number I'm dialing is long distance and requires a "1" at the beginning. On my old Treo, I could add a "1" in the "Dialing" set-up menu. The system knew enough to ignore it for local calls but enabled it for long distance calls. Is there no way to do this on iPhone? Many thanks.

This is one of the many lacking iPhone features that I've taken for granted in other basic cell phones for years. Ironically, the iPhone's weakest part is the phone.
Rogers will put through a call that has been dialed without the "1", but only after listening to a lengthy message that encourages you to program all of your phone numbers with the "1".
Sure, you can prepend a "1" before all phone numbers in your address book, however, that will cause problems if you share your address book with your computer and use an autodialer on your computer, because most land lines won't tolerate the "1" before a local number.

Iphone 4: while talking, phone automatically switches onto facetime and at other times when talking the sound "beep beep" is heard and disconnects from call? Anyone know what is happening??

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore.  Has any of this been tried?
