Call drops but still connected just muted w/o hangup (UK o2 / 3.0 problem?)

I have the 3GS and alot of the time the first calls i make to somebody, within 5 seconds of speaking...it suddenly turns mute on both sides but shows that im still connected to the call. I then can seem to ring a few mins later and it will not drop the call or may do a while later into the call.
Three other people who have the 3g have had the same problem so i assume its with the 3.0 update.
It hardly ever drops calls in the classic sense with a "called failed" or even a hang up. It seems to just go quiet on both sides.
I also spoke to a friend of mine on who was using nokia, and decided, whilst it turned 'mute', to have a fiddle around with the functions, and he later told me, he could hear that hes been put on hold and then taken off when i tried that function...but we still couldnt speak. So we must be still connected :s
Has this happened to anyone else, and anyone found a solution. Has it been reported? Its driving me and my friend crazy!!

Well im hoping that the 3.1 update should fix it up.
Having looked around, it seems its happened to some people during 2.1.1 and as you say been fixed up through updates. It seems that its not directly related to o2 so i can only assume its the 3.0.
Its seems if people are having any call problems at all, it either one or the other. As in either "call failed" drops, or this "mute" drop. It'd be intresting to see how much the balance tips between the types. Rather annoying tho.

Your call will be made over your cell signal, not wifi, unless its facetime.

  • WIM Chat Slow but still connected

    Hi Everyone,
During the chat session Agent usually see the alert on the close “Slow but still connected” as per the document it’s a connection speed issue between Customer and the Web Server (Please correct me if I am wrong)
If this is the then can anybody advise what is the minimum bandwidth requirement for this link or is there any workaround for this. I know this check can be disabled but is there anything else we can do about this.
    Thanks,
    Atif

Bandwidth for agent is at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/cisco_interaction_manager/cim_432/reference/guide/cim441bom.pdf.pdf
    page 8
work with tac, slow connections can be analyzed through logs and we can tweak the polling intervals. Also if connection of customer is slow there is nothing you can do to speeden up chat but you can tweak the length of polling to allow these chats without it being disconnected. Web server can also be optimized by following best practices

do you know what the concurrent user load is and chat load? this can be obtained from reports.

  • Wifi connection drops but LAN connection is fine

    A strange one.
I have both WiFi and LAN connections to my HH3 for different computers
The LAN connection is always fine - good speed, no drop-outs, etc
The WiFi connection however is a nightmare.  It works for a few hours and then the computer drops the internet connection.
It is not the WiFi connection to the HH3 as I can still get to the HH3 web page but any internet address gets a "DNS not found" error.
In this state, the LAN connection still works fine.  I can browse the Internet fine just not from a WiFi connection.
The only solution is to reset the HH3 fully (a disconnect/reconnect of the internet connection doesn't help)
    Any ideas?

    Hi there,
It sounds like you need to change the wireless channel on your HH3.
If you're on Windows then you're going to need inssider 2 or if you're using a Mac, then you'll need to download istumbler
Download whichever one of those is appropriate to your OS and do a scan for wireless networks close to you and you will be able to see which networks are operating on which channels and change to a less congested channel, if need be
    I hope this info helps

  • 8330 Disconnecting in the middle of sync from Desktop Manager, but still connected to computer

I am new user.  I love my Blackberry 8330.
However, yesterday I ran into a problem where the 8330 consistently disconnects in the middle of operations with the Desktop Manager.  It often does not occur in one place.  I have received multiple types of errors: Connector Specific Error, 0X80040fb3, Unable to Complete Synchronization, etc.  The spontaneous disconnections are not limited to calendar, tasks, or address book - it has happened during all of these and sometimes before it has even begun to sync.  I have pulled the battery once.  It synched fine after that just to have the same issues the next day.
This happens in the middle of other operations using the Desktop Manager as well.  Like backing up the files.  It will disconnect in the middle of backing up one of the files, or will only stay connected long enough to backup one file.
Throughout this, the computer recognizes the blackberry as being connected and the blackberry continues to display the "Connecting to Computer" screen.
The Start Menu and Taskbar will often hang or disappear after the Desktop Manager ceases to recognize the Blackberry and while the Blackberry is still connected.  Once the Blackberry is disconnected, the start menu and taskbar is released from hanging or reappears.
    Windows XP
    Office 2007
Facebook, IheartRadio, Pandora, Slacker, Google Maps, and a few other apps installed, Google Search, My Verizon
Also experience some spontaneous restarts but I think that has more to do with the apps than anything else.  Some JVM 102 errors upon restarts.
Feel free to ask me questions.  Love the Blackberry but frustrated.  Have tried other things looking through the forum, but none have solved the problem.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    JVM 102
this is your primary issue, resolve it first, will most likely resolve everything else
hopefully you have atleast 1 good backup to restore after

  • Sync with my desktop, but still connect to my notebook for Charge/Tether?

I Sync my iPhone 4s with my desktop computer.  Can I still connect it to my Notebook with iTunes on it, and NOT have it sync?  The only reason I want to connect it is to use my Verizon Personal Hotspot tethered, and for charging.
I don't want to connect it and screw up everything that is workinig good now, but I need to travel this weekend, and want to charge and tether.
Is it as simple as just not opening iTunes on the notebook?

To be clearer. I get a message saying that the machine is not authorised (although I know it is) then I choose authorise and type in the correct apple ID etc and then get a message saying that the computer is already authorised. When I click OK on that I start all over again!

  • Use Extreme as router only (no Internet) but still connect wirelessly

I have a separate BT Home Hub 4 which I can connect to wirelessly. I want to use the Extreme just for connecting to a NAS drive.
Is it possible to set up the Extreme as a router only but still via wifi?
    Kind Regards

Ok, thanks for clarifying that for me.
You can configure the Extreme to broadcast its own wireless network that network clients can connect to in order to gain access to the attached NAS device.
However, as it is a separate network, clients would have to "switch" networks between accessing the Internet via the Home Hub or accessing the NAS via the Extreme.
The AirPort's default configuration will support this. Note: You can use the AirPort Utility to ignore the warnings that will appear when the Extreme is not connected to the Internet.

  • Suppress phone call rings, but still hear alerts

I want to suppress calls for awhile, but still need to hear my (calendar) alerts.
If I turn off phone call rings (via the physical side switch) - the alerts can't be heard either.
Is there some way to do this on IOS v8.2 ?

Thanks for your reply I have tried that and the fault does indeed still exist.
So am I right in thinking BT could have the fault despite them saying the line is fine? Is there any possibility that this type of fault could be on my property in the parts of the line leading to the boundary of the property? As in this link http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12439/c/345,353,374   - any idea how I can tell? This 'boundary' thing is also quite confusing because we are a first floor flat

  • IMac keeps losing ISP, internet and Server but still connected to wifi

My Imac keeps losing ISP, Internet, and Server but is still connected to the Wifi. To recnnect, I have to go into Netwrok Diagnostics - assist me. This is happening every twenty minutes or so (sometimes less). Can anyone help? I might add that we have recently moved house and never had this problem before.

Wifi problems seem to crop up a lot on here and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a 'one fix' solution.
However, sometimes any one of the following can help although, unfortunately, not always. In no particular order:
Check wifi security - if it's WEP change it to WPA or WPA2 (preferably, as it's more secure)
Change the wifi channel on the router
Create a new Network Location: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5289
    Reboot the router
Also take a look at this link and the links within the article for other ideas. They mainly reference Lion, but still seem to be relevant to Mountain Lion:

  • Wifi Connection drops but still have all bars. Please Apple, respond us

I have a macbook pro 13''(purchased 1 month), a white macbook (bought in 2007) and a dell vostro 1310 (with windows 7) using the same router WRT54G2 Linksys or D-link 524
Only on my macbook pro 13''my connection drops without explanation and without a certain period (15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours).
I'm with latest updates (both macbook as a router), already formatted and applied the 10.6.4 combo. I have already put ip manually turned off DHCP, DNS already placed manually, I swapped the channel router. Everything recommended in official forums, but nothing helped.
What makes me saddest is that Apple does not respond. Even with so many threads about this problem.

  • Ipad 3 wifi connection drops but appears connected

I bought the new ipad about 6/7 weeks ago and from the start ive experienced wifi issues. When im browsing the internet through safari or any app that requires wifi connectivity i keep coming accross dropouts. Safari stops loading anything and eventualy comes up with an error saying that the connection is lost! But i have a full connection? The dropping ranges from every 30 min to 5 min. I thought it was a software problem at first so i told myself to deal with it. But its starting to really bug me! Other devices are fine and ive experienced the same problem on different networks. So it must be my ipad!? Ive been through all the wifi walkthroughs and ive done a large amount of research and ive found im not the only one experiencing this problem. Ive heard alot that it could be a hardware problem. something wrong with the actual wifi component. So what do i do? Do i take it to the apple store for a repair or replacement? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • IPhone 4S was working fine in Bangkok, now "No Service" so can't make or receive calls/texts. Still connects and works w/wifi?

Entire trip have had no problem using the phone in different locations as we traveled. Now I am unable to make or receive calls or texts, unless I am on wifi. Then I can send/receive imessages and other normal web functions. I checked settings>carrier and that's "on" and settings>general>network and both cellular data" and "Data Roaming" are "on" but I'm not getting or sending data when not on wifi, so cell data is apparently not working. Any thoughts?

If the phone is reading No Service, then no, the cellular connection is not made. Did you change SIM cards during your travel? It is possible your home carrier is not recognizing the phone. With the home carrier SIM installed, do a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The other alternative is to go into Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings.

  • Firefox will not start, says I must restart my computer, did that more than once ( at least 4 times ) but still nothing, just repeats that I most restart my computor

This started when I tried to upgrade from ?? to the latest version. It did add a second icon to my start page, both act the same way, tried to uninstale, again I get same message. Tried to do a system restore again same message" must restart".

Just checked the model of card youre using by Hardware ID
    PCI\VEN_02&DEV_0002&SUBSYS_00A02&REV_0A = SB0220 SBLi've! 5. Digital,
and I think if this is correct, you'll may find some other frustrationed owners asking the
    same question you have.
    Have you tried these drivers
    and/or
    these drivers

    BTW:
You perhaps can install Audigy 2 drivers and software to your card. Here are the instructions how to do it.
It's quite easy process. Download Audigy driver/software package (~20MB) (link is there), extract it into some directory. Download the patch (link is on Automatic Method sentence)and follow instructions how to patch the instalation package. Then installation process. I've modded my Audigy 2 to Audigy 2 Zs using a similiar method and everyting else, but GraphicMixer, works great.

  • Not able to use software-update but still connected to the internet

Hi there , I am currently on 10.5.6 but did this upgrade manually. When I tried to use Software-Update it gave me : Cannot contact the update server. I am connected through Airport Extreme with my Macbook. My IMac is also on this Airport Express and is working fine (Included SoftwareUpdate).
However I can work on the internet and use Email with my Macbook.
Itunes is also not able to conect and my widgets are also not working.
Like I said: On my Imac everything works fine.
    Can anyone help?? please

There are several things to try.
First check what is installed. Go to Safari's Help menu and select Installed Plug-Ins. If you see this
    application/x-java-applet;version=1.3.1
then it is installed and the banking website is not interpreting it correctly.
Next, go to Safari Preferences, click Advanced, and select "show develop menu in menu bar". Go to the website and then, from Safari's newly enabled Develop menu, select User Agent > some other version of Safari. You can actually select whatever you want - perhaps the banking website is checking your browswer for compatibility.
If this doesn't work, download and install another browser such as Firefox or Chrome. Try the banking website with one of them. If it works then either continue to use it, or tell the bank to fix its problem with Safari.
