Call initiation failure

Hi, i am using iphone 6,
sometimes when making a call by dialing the number or choosing a someone from the contacts, the screen just flashes without making the call.
and when this happens anyone trying to call me finds my phone switched off.
does anyone know how to fix this?

I was able to resolve using Audio MIDI Setup to delete and re-create my aggregate device.  Setting Input and Output to line-in, line-out then rebooting and selecting the aggregate was the trick in my case.

  • Call initiation/reception from OS X failure

    I have a case open with Apple about this but I'm wondering if anyone has seen situations where calls can't be made or received from Yosemite albeit with the right configuration on for FaceTime?
    Devices/setup:
    Mac Mini, OS X 10.10.2
    iPhone 5S, IOS 8.1.3
    Same iCloud account used on mac mini and iPhone
    FaceTime configured with the same phone # and e-mail on both mac mini and iPhone

    All options on
    Symptoms:
    * Other handoff features work fine (messages, safari etc.)
    * Receiving a call has the usual pop-up where I can click "Answer", when I do select "Answer" the call fails but is picked-up on iPhone
    * Making calls, usual pop-up come us briefly and turns into "call failed"

  • How to call initial screen from Sm30 screen back button

    Hi All,
    I have written a program to call SM30 transaction using BDC method.The values entered on initial screen of report are being passed on to SM30 screen through BDC . As per selection criteria inserted on screen only those particular entries are being displayed on SM30 table maintenace screen.
    But when I click on BACK button on table maintenace screen of SM30 it takes me to first screen of SM30 ransaction instead of report's first screen.
    What do I have to do to move on to first screen of report when BACK button clicked .
    Thanks
    Saurabh

    Creata table maintenance generator for your table. You need not have to do a BDC to SM30 to maintain the table. You can use the FM "VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL" by passing the table name. This will also take in the criteria to filter the record in the table display. Now if you press back button from here it will take you back to your report screen.

  • BT broadband drops iChat screen sharing when voice call initiated

    Just a question, and a warning if anyone out there in the UK is contemplating BT (British Telecom) broadband, you might get this issue.
    I can share a screen with someone on BT braodband, but using voice at the same time makes the video very slow and jumpy.  So, my solution used to be to phone on a normal phone line and just use the iChat for screen sharing.
    Now, my mother has switched to BT broadband + BT phone (was Metronet broadband + BT phone), now, every time I start a voice call at the same time as screen sharing it crashes the iChat app.
    BT tell me it is porbably a fault with the applicaiton, and the fact that it worked for over 3 years whilst on Metronet is pure coincidence.  The whole reson she switched to them was to try to save a little money, they want to charge £50/hr to diagnose what the issue might be.
    Does anyone else have this problem?  If so, has anyone discovered the cause?
    Thanks
    Stephen

    HI,
    Describe in more detail please what you mean by "Crash"
    Can you Video Chat ?
    Can You Audio Only chat ?
    These both use the same ports when making a connection and during the actual Chat
    A Screen Share is  an Audio Chat+ and uses  a random port for the Screen Sharing side.
    As this port is random you cannot set up Port Forwarding or Port triggering (If the router part does that) and you need to use UPnP (Universal Plug and Play).
    UPnP is normally On by default in the later Home Hubs (2 and 3)
    Early versions
    If she happens to be using iChat 3 or earlier though there can be issues as the Hub is capable of VoIP and using the phone over the Internet.
    VoIP uses a protocol over the internet called SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
    This has internationally agreed ports  of 5060-5063 (it uses one and will try one at time if not available)
    Early version of iChat  also used port 5060 to make connections.
    However some ISPs started to Block these ports and then charge extra for this "extra" service (sometimes without notification)
    Some Modems that can "route' the Phone over the internet also need to have setting changed to allow iChat to work,  (Basically the device has a SIP filter regardless of the addresses on the data packages meaning they don't get to the computer and get "lost" as they are not addressed to the Phone either).
    Later versions of iChat moved away from the 5060 port(s) and used 16402 as the first choice.
    Skype that also uses SIP to make connection have never used the 5060 range.
    If there is  a error message about Unexpectedly Quit we could do with seeing the "Crash Log" from her Home Folder/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/iChat.

  • Account Enrollment Initial Failure

    Hello, buddies!
    I posted 2 discussion messages on the solution accelerators forum.
    Both of the problems have been solved successfully. But now the next session has come up.
    My milestone is to use LiveCycle ES for constructing nation-wide insurance system.
    As for the first step, I've been testing LiveCycle ES solution accelerators on 8.2 version.
    To ensure the capability of LiveCycle ES and also Solution Accelerators, I have to speed up the configuration the business process
    of Account Enrollment.
    Anyway things are not going well.
    The problem is as follow:
    After I have signed in Finance Corporation portal, I clicked the Apply Now button to open a Commercial Account.
    The the aforementioned screen was appeared.
    But no more action. I've already checked the websphere application server log files. No errors, no outputs.
    And also I recorded PrepopulateSNCVars process in LiveCycle Workbench ES.
    It worked fine. For pre-populating, it captured the profile of Kel Varsen correctly.
    I want to check if the problem is because of selection and capture widget library.
    Any idea?
    Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Yes, this problem has been solved today.
    While initializing database in SQL Server 2005 with hibernate, some differences between data types have impacted the SNC deployment.
    To be exact, it was 'blob' type.
    So i changed the 'blob' into 'varbinary' in SQL Server 2005.
    Now that it seems to me everything is ok, but one thing I found is that there is a deserialize error in websphere log file.
    It will be resolved soon.
    Thanks.

    When the earpiece is in my pocket the button occasionally gets pressed and it starts calling people. This has caused many problems with it calling my customers, friends, etc. Is there any way around this other than to switch the earpiece off every time?

    I don't remember if I had the same problem on other phones or not, but I have had it on the 2G and 3G iphones.

  • Initial error in call to procedure is cached

    Hi,
    I'm running Apex 4.1.0.00.32, with Apex Listener 1.1.3.243.11.40 in WebLogic 10.3.3.0.
    I've noticed that if I run a procedure (/apex/schema.procedure) and the first call is unsuccessful (because of an error in the procedure or lack of privilege), all later calls will also fail.
    Example, create this procedure:
    create or replace procedure bug as
    begin
    htp.p('Hello bug');
    end;
    Try to run it using the url http://<server>/apex/<schema>.bug
    The web page will show just "Not Found". The listener error log will show
    HTTP Status Code: 404 Requested url http://<server>/apex/<schema>.bug is not found.
    The problem now is lack of grant. So, do a "grant execute on bug to apex_public_user;".
    Refresh the web page but "Not Found" persists.
    There are now two options:
    - change the url to (for instance) http://<server>/apex/<schema>.Bug (ie change case)
    - restart the whole weblogic server (stopping the Apex deployment is not possible)
    As changing the case of the url is not practical if the application is generating links, a restart is the option left.
    Is this "caching" of initial failure the expected behaviour or have I missed some configuration?
    I have no caching enabled in the listener.
    Kind regards
    Tomas Albinsson
    Stockholm, Sweden

    why would the listener look up metadata for the procedure to call?
    Either the user has the correct procedure name and parameter names - the call succeeds.
    Or the name or some parameter is wrong - the call fails and is reported to the user.Hi Tomas,
    Let me just repeat again that I don't know exactly how the Apex Listener implements its database calls.
    My comments are based on my own experiences from writing the Thoth Gateway, which essentially does the same thing as mod_plsql and the Apex Listener, except it is written in .NET and runs on Microsoft IIS. See http://code.google.com/p/thoth-gateway/ for more details.
    One reason for caching the procedure metadata is this:
    Let's say you have a procedure with a parameter which is a "table of varchar2" (such as the f01, f02, etc. parameters in the "wwv_flow.accept" procedure in Apex). These can accept zero, one or more values, depending on how many times you have repeated that input element name on the HTML page.
    So the Listener receives a call for the "wwv_flow.accept" procedure with a single value for the "f01" parameter. Without looking in the data dictionary (see DBA_ARGUMENTS), there is no way the Listener can know that the f01 parameter is actually a "table of varchar2" (and needs to be bound as that datatype when invoking the stored procedure). If the value is bound as a string (plain varchar2) parameter, the procedure call fails.
    Now, there are at least two ways to handle this: You can either catch the error, assume it was really a "table of varchar2" parameter, and try again with that; or you can look it up in the data dictionary beforehand to avoid the error. In either case, it's not good for performance to do this for every procedure call.
    The Thoth Gateway actually works this way: It first checks whether it has cached metadata for the procedure. If not, it tries to call the procedure based on just the names and values. If this fails, it silently catches the error and then looks up the procedure metadata from the data dictionary to make sure the parameter types are correct. It then calls the procedure again (and hopefully that should be successful). Then the metadata is cached. Which means that any subsequent invocations of the same procedure don't need to go through the same work again.
    Looking up (and caching) the metadata also has another benefit: If there are input elements on the HTML page that do not correspond to parameter names in the procedure (perhaps some client-side JS framework added some input fields dynamically), then the procedure call would fail. You can see this in action using mod_plsql and DBMS_EPG (you get an error along the lines of "arguments in form not in procedure..."). However, the Thoth Gateway (and I believe also the Apex Listener) checks the incoming parameter names against the metadata, and just discards any parameter names/values that are not in the procedure.

  • Facetime email initiated call fails

    I'm running ios4.1
    I can make a facetime call to my mates phone using his number but when I try to call using his email address the call always fails.
    I thought 4.1 allowed facetime calls initiated via an email address??

    1. ipod touch can make facetime calls internationally without long distance phone charges, which is an unfair advantage over iphone 4 - & we iphone 4 users paid more for the machine!
    So can the iPhone. You don't have to initiate a FaceTime video call with a phone call with the iPhone. And not everyone paid more for the iPhone than an iPod Touch. In the U.S., the iPhone 4 can be purchased for $199 with the 16GB and $299 with the 32GB, which is AT&T's subsidized or discounted price. The iPod Touch costs more than that.
    2. we cannot make "iphone to ipod" or vice versa facetime calls, which is of great inconvenience. They are similar device, similar functions, so inter-communication should be made possible.
    Yes you can. You initiate a FaceTime call with an iPod Touch by selecting the iPod Touch user's email address that the iPod Touch user registered their iPod Touch with Apple's FaceTime server. An iPod Touch user selects the iPhone's phone number to initiate a FaceTime video call.
    3. we iphone 4 users can see "calling with email" option in our pull-up menu anyways!
    That is for initiating a FaceTime video call with an iPod Touch user that has the email address registered with Apple's FaceTime server.
    Copied from this link.
    http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/features/facetime.html
    +Video calling is in full effect on iPod touch. Now your friends can see what you’re up to, when you’re up to it. With the tap of a button, you can wave "hi" while standing in a foreign country, get a second opinion on a pair of boots, or have your friends bear witness to the everyday pranks, bets, and dares they otherwise might have missed — *new iPod touch to new iPod touch _or iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi_.* And come face to face with even more fun.+

    I begin this forum thread to open the discussion about "JAbap project":
    I know JRuby...is there something like a abap interpreter written in java? ..java and abap using the same virtual machine....?

    Hello I have the same problem, were you able to execute the WS through the JS code now?
    I would like to call an ABAP WS using JavaScript to return complex structures that I would like to manage directly with JS.
    I tried with this code and I get the error "RaiseError: Acrobat Raise." when the request is executed:
    var WSUrl = "http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_4D15C75529330AF1E10000000A150429/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=500";

    try {
    // Create request structure, read Input out of text field
    var request = {
              "urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style:ZWsTest" : {ILifnr: VendorNumber}
    SOAP.wireDump = true;
    // Call web service using SOAP object
    var response = SOAP.request ({
            cURL: WSUrl,
            oRequest: request
    //        cAction: "urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style"
    } catch (e) {
        xfa.host.messageBox(e.toString()); //pop-up "TypeError:service.CelsiusToFahrenheit is not a funciton"
    with this other code I get the error "SOAPError: CX_ST_MATCH_ELEMENT:XSLT exception.System expected element 'ILifnr'":
    try {
        var myProxy = SOAP.connect(WSUrl);
        var result = myProxy.ZWsTest( { ILifnr: VendorNumber } );
        xfa.form.DATA.DATAFLOW.SF_HEADER.E_DESCRIPTION.rawValue = result;
    // Display the response in the console:
       console.println("Result is " + result);
    } catch (e) {
        xfa.host.messageBox(e.toString()); //pop-up "TypeError:service.CelsiusToFahrenheit is not a funciton"
    in the second option, if I make the field ILifnr optional the call is succesfully performed but the parameter is not passed to the WS. So the call is working.
    Using stand-alone LiveCycle designer 8.1 and Adobe Reader 8
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks,

    I begin this forum thread to open the discussion about "Web Dynpro to Flash Render project":
    It is possible to have a web dynpro (java or abap) project, import it at visual composer and make some flash render ? I mind, i developed my project in web dynpro and now i want the flash experience.

    Ignacio,
    I can't say for sure, but it seems that this innovation is already running within SAP
    Please google for "SAP Project Muse" and you'll find out that SAP currently developing new GUI (or see on SDN <a href="/people/jeffrey.word/blog/2006/06/06/project-muse--new-gui-for-sap">Project Muse -- new GUI for SAP</a>).
    Project Muse will use <a href="http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Apollo">Adobe Apollo</a> presentation technology, that is extension to <a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/">Adobe Flex</a> technology that is run within Adobe Flash Player.
    So in fact it seems that WD applications will be running within Flash (or Flash-like) player from Adobe.
    As of implementing third-party WD renderer using Adobe Flex, it is theoretically possible. But it's necessary to have access to internal XML protocol/formats used by SAP Smart Clients (.NET & Java) to communicate with WD run-time running on SAP WebAS. Unfortunately, these protocols/formats are not publicly released
