Call log is blank - Palm Centro AT&T

My Centro is not storing any of the calls I receive or make in my call log. Help!
Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

In your log, do you have "All" chosen in the display?
Try soft resetting the phone and make a call.  See if it registers in the log.

  • Call Log is blank

    Hi,
    After I udpated to ios 4, the phone log doesn't record any call, when i go to recent calls is always blank.
    What to do?

    Ok guys finaly after a whole day of working at this i fixed it!
    I only wanted to restore my contacts and sms with this procedure because i can restore everything else with itunes, so if you dont want to lose pictures ,videos etc copy them from your iphone to a folder, keep them there and after you finish use itunes to get them back to your iphone.
    I'll guide you step by step, trust me it works.
    1)Back up your iphone so you have a fresh back up with your contacts and sms
    2)Download IbackBot from here http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm
    3)install the software
    4)Run the software
    5)you should now see on the left column a list of the back ups itunes has made for your iphone. Pick the most recent one (see the time of your last back up)
    6)After you highlight your most recent back up, go to the right table of the program and tick the following 3 items:
    a)Library/AddressBook/AddressBookImages.sqlitedb
    b)Library/AddressBook/AdressBook.sqlitedb
    c)Library/SMS/sms.db
    7) Go to File On the top left Click "Export" Click "Export Only checked files" and tick "Export with backup information, for omport to another BackUp" . Click OK and save these 3 files in a folder on your desktop.
    8)Exit the program and run iTunes
    9) In iTunes Press Restore and go back to factory settings (when this is finished your recent calls factions should work just fine you wont have your sms and contacts though.
    10)Click Set Up As A New Iphone.
    11)After the procedure is finished right click your Iphone device in iTunes and click BackUp.
    12)After the backup is finsihed close iTune and run ibackupBot again.
    13)Pick The MOST recent backup from the left side of the table(the one you just made) and go to File->Import
    14)Click on the 3 files you have saved on the folder of your desktop. Click Open.
    15)Go to File->Restore and then press "Restore only modified files"
    16)Your iPhone will restart and you will have your contacts your sms and your recent calls faction back again!
    Make a back up on itunes and delete the previous ones from preferences just in case.

  • Any advanced call log tracker for Palm Treo's?

    I own a Palm Treo 680, with Rogers as my carrier.  I subscribe to a phone plan that allows me to call 200 daytime min/mth (8am-6pm) for free and $x.xx thereafter, and unlimited evenings & weekends.  I also subscribe to text messaging; Rogers allows me to send 125 msgs/mth and $0.xx thereafter, & receiving text msgs is free.  Now, "Total Hawk 1.01" by Wolflane Software comes close to what I want, but doesn't allow me to enter parameters for the said restrictions. Does anyone know of any palm software that is slightly more advanced than "Total Hawk"? Thx in advance.
    Post relates to: Treo 680 (Rogers)

    Personally I don't use any software to track this, but I did a lot of looking around and the Total Hawk looks like the best that is out there.
    One software you might want to look at is Central for Treo looks like 4.40 is the latest version

  • Lost emails, call log gone???

    first time here, so please be gentle!!! hehe
    i am on my second 8100 from att&t. first, it drops a LOT of calls, probably 4 out of ten. second, without warning, my emails from more than a few hours ago are gone??? third, at the same time, my call log goes blank, and does not store calls anymore.
    my email comes via enterprise server running lotus notes. fortunately, it does not reconcile with the server. i have all of the settings set to keep email for whatever the default length is, i think 3 months? all of this causedd me to have my last 8100 replaced. now the new one is doing the same thing after about 2 months of use. is this a bberry issue, or provider issue, or maybe a server issue?
    thanks in advance

    Usually when a device deletes email and the call logs it indicated it's running out of free space. You can check under Options | Status for the file free number. If that number is 0, then the device doesn't have any room to store new email or call logs. Follow the steps in the following article to detemine where some of the space may be taken up.

  • Palm centro dropping calls at voicemail

    I have a new palm centro from at&t. It seems to drop the call, or go to mute when I reach another persons mailbox. It doesnt always do this, but it goes in spurts. I'll hear the ringing, then when I should hear a voicemail message I hear nothing.
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

    Here is the work around.  I have escalated the issue to both AT&T Tech Support and Palm.  I don't think either really cares so all bets are off on a software/firmware upgrade.
    Issue:  Palm Centro has high percentage of call failures on call originations that end up terminating to voicemail or answering machines.  After screen blanks out while the terminating number is still ringing, the phone mutes (both speaker and mic) and acts like the call was dropped.
    The problem occurs when a GSM call origination generates ringback for 30 seconds or longer.  Most carriers now have the handset versus the network generating the ringback that the caller hears.  For some reason Palm mutes the call if the ringback is for 30 seconds or longer.  My findings indicate that this occurs because of their Auto Off  interval.  See page 252 of the owner’s manual.  Also see page 285 where Palm  states:  “ Auto-off interval - The time of inactivity that passes before the screen on your Centro turns off. The wireless features on your Centro are unaffected by this setting.”
    Test:  Find a number that has either an answering machine set to answer after 6 (30 seconds of) rings or another mobile phone on a different carrier (Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile) that is powered on and has good signal strength.  Most carriers default the time of ringback (page response) to 30 seconds before either delivering an announcement or redirecting the call to voicemail.  If the phone is not on or doesn’t have a signal, the cellular network will not provide 30 seconds of ringback before rolling the call to announcement or voicemail.  In this case, this test will fail and you will hear the voicemail or answering machine greeting.  Make sure you place test calls to the phone # and it goes to dead air before trying the below.
    In the Centro:
    Go to Phone
    Options
    System Options
    Change Auto Off after from 30 seconds to 1 minute.
    Now test to see if you get to voicemail or the answering machine every time. You should also be able to leave a message.  I tested to see if the message gets cut off because the Auto Off  timer could power off the speaker and mic after 20-30 seconds (30 seconds of ringback, a greeting of some length and then the prompts to leave a message).  The message was complete so I do not believe this is an issue but it should be thoroughly tested.
    The downside of this fix is that the screen will stay on for 1 minute after unlocking keyguard.  This will eat up more battery.  If you need max battery life, leave the auto off after set to 30 seconds.  Whenever you receive dead air when you believe you should get voicemail or an answering machine, hit the phone button while the call is in progress.  This wakes up the phone’s screen and you should get the greeting already in progress.  The phone could mute again after 30 seconds but you’ll never know it so your message may get cut off.  I have not tested this but other Centro owners report that the terminating number has a voicemail with a slight buzzing.
    Let me know how this works for you.  We need to share this with Palm because there auto off function is certainly affecting the wireless features of our Centros.

    My iphone 4s does not record call log in the "Recents". I can not see who called me and whom I called. The list is blank.

    Reject and Answer buttons only show up if the phone is not in standby. If the phone is in standby and /or the screen is locked, you will see swipe to answer instead.

    On my AT&T Centro, once the Phone hard button has been pressed, I see 5 icons at the bottom of the screen.  The right-most one is the call log "button".
    That's the only one I know of... What page in the manual are you referring to?

    Is it possible to download and print the call log. This would be useful to compare to phone bill and to submit only certain calls for business expenses

    One time I needed to extract my call log and I think I used the trial of this program. Since it was a one-time project (documenting my efforts to try to get a reservation at a very hot restaurant), I didn't end up buying it. There probably are other products like this, but you could start here: Natara Comet

    When you hard reset, did you get the erase all data message?
    Are you sync'ing the new device to the same username in Palm Desktop as an older device?
    If you are, this will cause problems on the new device. When you sync the device, it saves the device settings, 3rd party apps, preferences, etc. in the backup folder in the username folder on the PC. When you sync the new device it copies the contents of the backup folder for the old device to the new device. This will cause corruption in the settings for the new device thus causing erratic behavior of the new device.
    If this is the case, you may need to hard reset your device and rename your backup folder. Go to http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 and follow the directions to do a hard reset. Next before you hotsync your data back over you will need to rename your backup folder, to do that go here;
    XP
    C:\program files\palm or palm one\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
    Vista
    Start-->documents\Palm OS Desktop\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
    Then hotsync to your current hotsync name and all your contacts, calendar,
    tasks, and memos will come back over.
    Show file extensions for XP or Vista
    XP
    If you can not view file extensions on your PC I would like you to open a
    folder go to Tools-->Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
    files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.
    Vista
    Open control Panel go to Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
    files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.

  • Palm Centro Desktop not working with new install

    I just got a Palm Centro (AT&T) and installed the software. I already had Palm Desktop from my Treo 650. My information came over to my phone during Hotsync, but I can not use my desktop. When I start the program, it says there is a problem and windows is shutting it down. I am using Vista. Can you help?
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

    Try re-installing the software and do a repair of the install. If that doesn't work then you will need to do a "clean" uninstall and then install Palm desktop again.
    You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
    happens. You can find your data files by going to Start --> Documents -->
    Palm OS Desktop. Highlight your Palm Desktop username and right click and
    copy. Then go to your PC desktop right click on a blank spot and select paste.
    Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove everything that has to do
    with Palm Desktop from your computer.
    Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below.
    C:\Program Files\Palm or Palm One
    C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or
    PalmOne
    C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata
    *Note you may need to view hidden folders to get to appdata. To do that go
    into your control panel and open folder options. Go to view tab and uncheck
    hide hidden files.
    Once this is done you will need to delete some registry keys from your PC Operating System.
    Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC
    from starting up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
    you are unsure of yourself, see if you have a friend that can help you or a
    PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to delete. To make sure we have a good copy of the current registry, we need to do a backup of the Registry.
    Go to start on the PC, in the search field type "regedit.exe" without quotes.
    Highlight COMPUTER, go to File --> Export. Should pop up with a Save As box.
    Current location is fine, should be in My Documents or save to a location you will remember. In the file name on the bottom type "backup[todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Next, the hard part.
    The easiest way to make sure your working with the correct key, highlight the key i.e. palm quick install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you, are you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
    If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician.
    BUT do not turn off your computer.
    The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of theses reg keys will not be here
    but if they are delete them)
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc.
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource
    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm
    Next reboot your computer.
    Then reinstall your palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If it asks
    you for a username and you synced your device before, put in 'test" if you
    did not sync before create a hotsync name.

  • No "call log" in Favorites button

    I just bought my centro today. The store activated it and removed all  the favorite buttons I would not use. I think they removed the call log button by mistake.
    How can I return the call log  to my favorite buttons?

    Post relates to: Centro (Bell)

    Do you have a blank button you want to customize, or do you want to change an existing button?
    For a blank button, tap it and change the top drop-down to Call Log.
    For an existing button, highlight it using the 5-way controller, then Menu > Record > Edit Favorites Button. Then change the top drop-down to Call Log.
    Does that work?

  • 3rd party call log software questions

    Does anyone know of a Centro-compatible 3rd party call log manager that lets me delete/purge multiple entries at once, ie, something like each entry has a checkbox and if it's checked, you can select delete (or purge) and just those entries get removed? I guess I make a lot of phone calls, and it gets extremely cumbersome to delete/purge entries individually. I'd love to select multiple non-consecutive entries then be able to delete them all at once. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Mike

  • Quick access to missed calls in call log

    I have a Palm Centro (Sprint). How can I set up quick access to the Missed Calls in the Call Log? On what many would consider a much inferior phone, my old Sanyo Katana, Missed Calls access could be set up as a quick link and available by the push of one button. On what many would consider a superior phone, the Palm Centro, it takes eight pushes to get to the Missed Call logs.
    Can anyone help me get back that one-button-push functionality and set it up on my Centro? Quick access to the Missed Calls log is very important to me.

    Unfortunately, there is no method to remap the missed call log to another button natively on the Centro.
