Call log keeps deleting

I have the BB Curve 8320..and my call log keeps disappearing! I want to keep a log in there for at least 10 days..maybe a couple of weeks, but it erases I think every time a new missed call comes in. Any advice?
Thanks

Sounds like your device is running low on memory. For a quick fix try this: Go into Options | Status and look at the File Free numbers. Then reset your phone by removing the battery for 1 min then replacing it. Afterwards look at your File Free number again to see if it increased. Check the following link for ways to free up additional memory on your device: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14320

  • E 72 Call logs getting deleted automatically

    Hi,
I am using e72 since 1 month. My phone call logs gets deleted automatically as the day starts. I have set the call log duration to 30 days. My phone software version is 031.023 date31/03/2010. Please provide the solution

I'm in a huge problem... My E72 is set to log 30 days but it only logs 1000 entries which is not enough for me so my oldest entries get deleted after approximately 22-23 days...
Can anyone from Nokia confirm this? Is S60v3 log limited to 1000 entries? It happened before and it happens also with the newest 051.xxx firmware.
How to resolve this? Cut back on phone usage?!

  • Call log keeps automatically clearing for 8130

My call log disappears automatically.  Sometimes 2 minutes after a call is logged.  How can I keep my call log until I decide to delete it?

You're facing memory constraints in your device. Perform the following steps -
Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30sec.
Check how much memory is free in your device to Options -> Status -> Free Memory. To view all the database size go to Option -> Status -> click Menu button then select Database Sizes
Delete less frequently used application. To delete go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete -> click Menu and select Delete
If you stored your picture in device memory them move them to your media card
For details check knowledge Base KB11570.

  • 50462720 FREE in memory yet CALL LOGS STILL DELETE!

I have only had this phone for about a week - I have checked every setting as per this website, I have moved all pics and media to a card and deleted all but 1 email, plus I deleted the languages etc....and still, my call logs delete - either randomly during the day (I may have up to 10 calls logged then they disappear) or they just won't be saved at all for a whole day. then, this morning, I woke up with my phone saying I had 7 missed calls - the phone never rang (its next to my head and on loud ) and when I went to view the missed calls, there were none - so frustrating!
so BESIDES the memory issue (I am assuming having 50462720 free file is enough to keep my call logs for a day at least?) what else could be the problem? I am able to return this and get another one if I need to but not if i'm going to experience the same problem. help!!
    thanks a ton! Legare

Ok, I've cleaned out all the unused languages and the memory cache... It worked for approx 2 weeks and then this morning with only 3 (new) emails and one text messages in my inbox it wiped my call list and sms text message!! I wiped everything again this morning.   How much free memory do i need to have in order to prevent this from happening??????

  • Call log entry deleting shows error "invalid selec...

there are three entries in my nokia c3 call log when i delet them the error comes "invalid selection". i had cleared all logs but they still exists. i had reset my phone but still these entries exists in my call log. how can i delet these entries from my call log. and these contact entries are now not in my contact list. but there name exist in my call log without their number and date and call duration.

I get the same message with various JRE versions (1.3.1 Blackdown, 1.3.1 Oracle, 1.1.8 Oracle).
DBCA seems to die in line 124 (with the progress bar at 19%) where it uses oracle.sysman.assistants.dbca -> maybe this one is corrupt or wrong/outdated. Maybe it would be possible to save the database generation script (like in 8.x) as a batch and then run it manually without using Java-based tools. But: where do I generate this batchfile - dbca only seems to save a XML configuration file.
Thanks for any hints. Michael At least for the lat part of my question I found an answer: the option for writing a script with the DB geneation statements is not available for the 'General Purpose' DB. When selecting 'New database' it seems to work fine.

  • Call Log auto deletes

I let my brother borrow my 8130 for a day and ever since then my call logs, messages, and emails are all automatically deleted once a day.  I dont know how to disable this feature.  Any suggestions?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

i had this problem before and it was related to the memory.  i purchased a memory card and transferred all my pictures, ringtones, etc on it.   You might want to close all your opened conversations, maybe clean out some of the items in your custom dictionary as well. I also run the memory cleaner everyday and that seemed to help.
    hope that helps!

  • IPhone 6 Random Reset and deleting call log and texts?

Anyone else have an issue where their carrier setting were updated, and afterwards their phone randomly reset? I updated my carrier setting, (My phone prompted me to). After that, it did a reset, and when it came back, all my texts and call logs were deleted. I'm curious if it was just a glitch? Or if anyone else is having these issues.

    Hi,
You have low free memory left on your device. 15mb is considered minimum, you have
Do you have a lot of third party applications on your BB weather, icall, bbalerts etc?
I do not know your experience level, so if you know this I'm sorry but please read and let me
    know if this applies.
Most people close the applications by pressing the escape or red key. This does not close the applications.
Each application has a CLOSE option. For instance if you are in the calendar hit the menu key (spotted key) and scroll down to the bottom CLOSE is listed. Go through each application and press close. Go into the browser press menu and options select cache operations clear all categories and hit escape it will say cleaning memory.
Go to options - security - memory cleaning - enable it. The BB will now clean memory when idle for 5 minutes. (if you have that option)
Use the steps in this article by JSANDERS for reclaiming memory. Contained in the article is JCLARS OPTIMIZE YOUR MEMORY GUIDE.

If you follow these steps and keep up with your memory your phone will operate smoothly.
Please let us know if you need help with any of the steps.

  • Passport Call Logs deleted after BB Link Backup

My BB Link is set up to automatically backup my Passport once every week. Every time this happens, my Call Logs is deleted. Others have faced similar issues, but no solution or response from Blackberry.

Looks like this fixes it self. After the automatic backup, if you unplug the device too soon it seems to delete the call logs. The next time you connect the device back and the call logs sync again reappear.

  • Deleted call logs

If for example a call was received on a sony experia mobile phone at a certain time, then when looked at the call log was deleted how would I
    1. Recover the deflated call log ?
2.it was said that the call was received from a viber account . But the number was 5++4 then obviously 7 and the rest of the number.. Now I know that you remove the plus 44 and add 07 to make the number a valid callable number.. . If the call was from a viber account is this the correct number to call back , if they had made a new number on viber would the new number still ring the original telephone number.. I.e is the made up number synced to the correct number.?..
    3. So is there any way I can retreive this deleted call log from either the phone, or from the viber account somehow?
Also when I went into viber this particular number and contact information was not down as a contact that was actually using viber
Think you no what I'm getting at .. !, they think there clever deleting certain call logs , then trying to lie about it was a viber account fone number, that you can't call back.. !, I'm not stupid and I already no the answers to my questions.. But proof is what I really need .. Pleae help

Your pearls  are getting low on memory and in this state the first thing they do is delete message and call logs . I suggest do a google search on blackberry memory leaks and fix`s . One nice little app that helps alot is Soft Reset , its free and best to download OTA from your blackberry browser , use it once or twice a week and save alot of headaches no more battery pulls . Secondly go to options , security options , memory cleaning , enabled = yes , show icon on home screen = yes  and save these settings . Now in your apps icons there will be a new icon looks like a paper shredder , click once and it will clean your memory , do this once or twice a week as well .

How do you clear call log without deleting contacts of people you called or you called? On the Droid 2 it says clear but now I have Fasinate and I only saw delete so I clicked delete and it deleted the contacts. Is there a way to clear history of calls with out deleting the person?

    roachman55 wrote:
Thanks I will look for that as like I said the Droid 2 gave option of clearing call log but what I see on Fasinate is just delete and it deleted contacts that I had called or called me. Thanks again and will check the preferences
fascinate got option delete, and yeah it deletes but not contacts... only your logs... your contacts are there intact in your contacts...

  • Phone is deleting texts immediately, no text or call log on my phone

My phone just started errasing text messages and calls all of a sudden. I didn't change any settings, and i've gone through all of them, and nothing seems to be different. But I can't even read texts because it erases them so quickly, and there is no record of me sending or recieving any (texts or calls). Can someone help me with this please?

    Doc ID : KB11570
ProblemWhen the BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory, Short Message Service (SMS) logs and call logs disappear.
CauseWhen the BlackBerry smartphone becomes critically low on memory, SMS messages and call logs will automatically be deleted in order to keep a minimum amount of free space available. This functionality is by design.
ResolutionIf the BlackBerry smartphone becomes low on memory, try the following:
Check how much memory is currently available. See KB04353 for further information.
Ensure that media is saved on the media card, and not on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Since web browsing results in cached files on the BlackBerry smartphone try clearing the browser cache. See KB03865 for further information.
Lower the reserved picture memory setting. See KB12383 for further information.
Use the application loader tool to remove any unused applications, such as themes, ring tones, or third-party applications.
Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone. Check the available memory after the hard reset. See KB02141 for further information.
If the issue still persists, perform the following, checking the available memory after each step.
Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions see KB02141. Then clear unnecessary calls logs and phone messages.
Remove Phone Call and SMS log databases from the BlackBerry smartphone. See KB03974 for further information.
Perform an application load to erase all applications and install the latest BlackBerry Device Software. See KB03621 for further information.

  • Phones delete the call log

The phone for some reason keeps deleting the call log and messages every few days!!  What can I do about this

There is a lot of things one can do to free up memory beyond what jojo said.
    1. Do a battery pull.
    2. While at the home screen hold the ALT key and type LGLG this pulls up the event log this can get quiet large. pull up the menu and clear it.
    3. That cool demo video is a real memory hog DUMP IT!!!
    4. The preinstalled wall paper is also memory intensive move it to the SD card or just dump it.
    5. Being multilingual in today’s world is almost a necessity but your Berry doesn’t need to be pick a language and dump the rest.
This is just the tip of the ice berg just keep in mind that if you dont use it dump it, if you need something later you can always reinstall it.

Low memory on your device... very common if you don't a little maintenance on the memory now and then.
First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free? Now, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot. What is the File Free now?

  • Corruption in Messages/Call Logs. Can't delete, or...

Just recently, for no apparent reason, I have had some serious problems with my N900!
When I try to send/receive a message, it comes up with an error every 30secs -
"Unable to send/receive messages. Device storage full. Free user space."
However, device storage is NOT full. Rootfs is at 76%.
I have two corrupt messages in Conversations, which cannot be deleted. Pressing Delete or Clear Conversation simply does nothing. I also have about 4 calls in recent calls which do not delete. I belive the database is corrupted, and this is causing the problem.
I CANNOT re-flash at the moment, my USB port is broken. However, I can change anything through SSH or xTerm.
Is it possible to simply navigate to the Conversations/Call Logs files through SSH, and delete them, or replace them with virgin ones, to fix this issue??

OUCH! at the USB.  i would send it back for that alone.
    but back to the firmware.
if that is the case, i would try to sync with Outlook via bluetooth to get your contacts and notes, webpages saved, but the hard part is the firware cleanboot.
wihtoue the usb, i am not sure at the moment how to reflash the unit.
when you backed up the unit, it backed up the coruption, so that will do you no good.  you will need to start over.
as soon as you can get this rebooted, i would create a back up to restore to forfuturre reference.
