  • Call Manager 10.5 Compatibility with TelePresence

    Hi,
We are in the process of upgrading CUCM to version 10.5.  Can someone please tell me the minimum versions of the following devices that are compatible with CUCM 10.5?
    VCS
    MCU 5320
    C40/90
I am not able to locate this information on http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/matrix/10_x/CUCM_BK_CD1DB914_00_compat_matrix.pdf. Is there another place that I should be looking?  Surely this is documented somewhere.
    Thanks,

  • Call Manager 8.0 to 9.1 upgrade

We are currently running Call Manager 8, UCCE 8, and CVP 8. ICM/CTI 8.
We would like to upgrade Call Manager 8 to 9.1 first before upgrading UCCE, CVP, etc., it could be months before these are upgraded.
Does anyone know or foresee any issues if UCCE, CVP, etc., are not upgraded right away after CM is upgraded?
    Any comment is appreciated.  Thanks.

Look at the UCCE compatibility matrix as you need the exact versions to find out whether they will work together, of ir you'll need a single window on which to upgrade all.

  • Anti-virus on UCCX/Call Manager

Hello I have been asked a questiona bout adding Anti-Virus to our Phone System Environment.
We have Call Manager 7 and UCCX 7.
What are the best practices for doing so?

The Compatibility Matrix has a section for Security/AntiVirus Software will tell you which AntiVirus is official supported:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
The best practices guide simply mentions "Cisco does not permit any unapproved third party software on the UCCX server. Only Cisco approved anti-virus, anti-spy ware software should be used along with the compatible version of Cisco Security Agent."

  • Upgrade Call Manager

    Hello All,
our company is planning to upgrade Cisco Call manager 5.0 to version 8. Can you please help me out what the procedure will be. Or also what the steps i need to follow to upgrade from 5 to 8.

    Hi ,
For upgrading call manager from version 5 to 8 , u need to consider the following steps:
    a. you need to have valid ESW and UCSS contract since this would be a major upgrade.
    b. Check for existing Hardware since DRAM and HDD requirements are  different for version 8.0(3) and above.

    c. you also need to check the software compatibility matrix.

  • Functions Call manager express

    Hi,
I have a contact center express with standard licenses and over call manager express.
Can i can change the calls flow via web like in Call manager express CUE or is only for premium licenses?
Do you know any link where i can find it?
    Thanks

    Hi Zamoranoco,
You can change the call flows i.e.UCCX scripts by using the UCCX Editor. You need to install the Editor from UCCX Admin->Tools->Plugin page on the supported client platform.
You can use the UCCX Admin user to login into this UCCX editor and make changes.
Please refer the UCCX Scripting guides from the below link,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1846/products_programming_reference_guides_list.html
For supported UCCX Editor client platfrom refer the below link,

    Hope this helps.

    the hw/sw compatibility guide (
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/custcosw/ps1846/products_device_support_tables_list.html) is a great information source. It answers your question.

  • Cakll Manager 4.1 compatibility with Active Directory 2008

I need to know the compatibility
between windows 2008 Active Directory and Call Manager 4.1. I was told Call Manager
4.1 was incompatibile with windows 2008 AD. Is that Active Directory
2008 Domain and Forest functional level? I'm moving forw
ard with replacing all our windows 2003 DCs with Windows 2008 DCs. The question is will
call manager 4.1 be compatible? Need actual windows 2003 DC or can WIndows 200
3 forest and domain functional level enough?

    Hello gentlemen,
I just wanted to let you know that we actually got everything working again on our test bed environment. The DC is running on a virtualized Windows Server 2008 but with the forest and domain functional levels at 2003. What we had to do to resolve the ICM issues (Roggers, PGs and AW/HDS) was for all of the services that wouldn't automatically start, we had to update the 'log on as' settings to re-add those accounts and re-enter the passwords. Also, when running the ICMSetup util, it came back with an error saying that it couldn't see the 'Call Center Applications' OU even though it existed. To resolve that, we ran ICMSetup again, added the ICM instance, then upon going back to the main screen, exiting then re-running ICMSetup, everything worked again and the error did not re-occur. We were able to click on the various instance components (PG1A, CG1A, etc) where as before doing that, those instances were greyed out.
For our CallManager server 4.1(3) we didn't need to resolve anything on it. It appears to be running ok and phones are registered to it as well.
Mind you, this is a test bed environment, and the old test bed DC was created a few years ago, and with this new one being a copy of our existing production DC, there were many changes and updates done to it, so that's probably why the old accounts weren't recognized and new ones were created.
We don't think that will happen in our production environment, but even so, we're not going to upgrade our production DCs to Windows Server 2008 just yet.
    Thanks for the feed back.

  • What is the best cisco ip phone for call manager and ipcc practicals

Hi i have recently started my training on Cisco Call Manger and CCIE voice from a leading cisco voice training institute (http://networkerszone.com/), and am working on 7900 series phones, is there any other phone that i should use or this is fine.

    Naval,
7900 phones are good enough for both CUCM & UCCE. UCCE however doesnt support all models of 7900 series, please refer UCCE Compatibility Matrix for supported phone models.
You may also use CIPC as agent phone.

  • IMPORT doesn't work per compatability matrix, HELP

I have oracle XE 10.2.0.1 on my machine and the server I am trying to update my database from is 10.1.0.2. IMP and EXP utility are not working. Tried to find an older XE to download and make it same as the server version but could not find one anywhere online.. What are my options to be able to import entire database from older version to newer version ? is there any patch I can apply or something? please help..
FYI, below is a response I got from oracle admin that is managing the server..
Thanks a lot for your help
As per compatibility Matrix,You need to use the export utility of the lower version of source and target database or match database versions.
I should note that you are using a different version of the database on your client. The server is 10.1.0.2 and you are using 10.2.0.1. As to the location, you should be using the same version for testing. You are creating the export dmp file with the export.

If the database server is running 10.1.0.2, there should be a 10.1.0.2 export utility on the server that could be used to generate the dump file. Alternately, you could download the 10.1 Oracle client off of OTN, install that in a separate Oracle Home on your client machine, and generate the export using the 10.1 version of the export utility you just installed.

  • Call Manager Server Virtualistion

Does anyone know if Cisco has plans to support Call Manager on VMWare?
    Thanks

    Hi
It is definately POSSIBLE to run any version of CCM on VMWare (I run them on VMWare Server, Workstation or whatever I have handy - not ESX, but I don't see why it wouldn't work).
The issue is that it isn't SUPPORTED.
Imagine you call TAC to tell them that you have a delay reaching dial-tone, or can't get a phone registered, or whatever...
Q: They want to know what your hardware is? - A: VMWare.
Q: VMWare on what? A: A big cluster. Don't know exactly what hardware, doesn't matter as it's virtual.
Q: What else runs on the VMWare cluster? A: loads of stuff...
I guess the point is that if it's on VmWare, Cisco can't control what hardware spec you run the product on so performance issues become more likely... Compatibility issues may arise because you are introducing not just 'supported hardware' it will run on, but 'virtual hardware' which is software and therefore prone to bugs and so on...
With the supported hardware list, with real hardware, and with a customised, controlled OS, then we have something like a controlled environment the program can run on that reduces problems and simplifies troubleshooting.
So you can run on VMWare - google for the steps...
But don't do it in production... I don't expect to see Cisco change their mind about that anytime soon either!
With regard to SIP the idea is that we all need phones that Cisco don't make now and again (maybe one that reads out calling numbers for visually impaired folks, or that works underwater or something I guess) or that are just cheap so it doesn't matter if someone steals it from a warehouse... Cisco don't make niche market (or cheap) phones, so now you can still use CallManager for all your business telephony but still take advantage of cheap/odd phones - and Cisco get to take some license money off you.
So in another way it might work in Cisco's favor.
    Hope this helps...

  • Hi Team, I wuold like to know if you have any app to make Firefox OS working with cisco Call Manager 10.5. Something like Cisco Jabber for Android or iOS.

I would like to know if are any app to install on Firefox OS smart phone in order to work with cisco call manager 10.5.
Something like Cisco Jabber for Android o iOS.
    Thanks,

    Hi Itech,
If Cisco Jabber has a webapp, or mobile version of their website available, you should technically be able to access it through Firefox OS.
You may also search Firefox Marketplace for an alternative solution:

  • Upgrade Call Manager from 8.6.2 to 10.5

    Hello All,
We are planning to upgrade a Cisco Call Manager Publisher node from 8.6.2 to 10.5. We want to install a new publisher on a new environment, but we are struggling with some questions.
If we install the Pub node 10.5 can we migrate the configuration from the 8.6.2 to 10.5? Do we need a special tool for this?
If above doesn't work, we can still migrate the existing call manager towards the new servers and start the upgrade, the only problem we face there is that we have to change the publisher's IP because we want to use a new ip addressing scheme.
    Kr,
    Yannick Vranckx

Your best bet is to use the new tool: cisco prime collaboration deployment. This fits perfectly into what you want to do here and can easily help you with all aspect of the migration including the ip address change. You can learn how to use the tool here..
