Call manager / UCM apps reporting tools?
Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for any third party reporting tools to report on configurations of cisco ucm apps such as CUCM, CUC, UCCX, CUPS, etc etc.
I'm thinking of getting something like this and want to know what my options are before i start evaluating them and I can't find very many options via google!
Thanks
hi,
I am not a 100% sure what your looking for but you can do some of this with CUOM (cisco unified operations manager) and cisco unified service monitor
Here is a link for you (it's a case study)...
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6491/ps6705/ps6535/case_study_c36-555162.html
I'm not aware of any third party apps for this although there may be some out there
Thanks,

Hey all,
Wondering if anyone has any info on reporting tools with UCM (apart from Content Tracker).
Has anyone integrated, say, something along the lines of Crystal Reports, or Cognos BI, with UCM? Difficult? Easy?
Appreciate any info!Hi
Another option would be to use Oracle BAM . I have not used it but have heard reviews that it's pretty good and not too complex to set up as well .
Also there is a ready made solution for OBIEE - UCM which again is rich in features.
Thanks

I have a Cisco Call Manager 3.3 Server... I'm getting a 2600 Router with a WIC-1DSU-T1 card. Briefly tell me what else I need in terms of hardware in order to test Call Manager using Tapi programming tools, and connect to 2 dial up phone lines and my Cable Modem.
I don't know what else I need and what connects to what. These documents can help you in more configurations. You might need a switch which support power over ethernet and QoS and some IP phones too.

Is it possible to take the CDR data from a v4.2 Call Manager and copy it to a separate server where it would be made available for reporting? We are not interested in migrating the CDR data to v6 because of the concerns it introduces to the upgrade process. Is it possible to get the raw data and somehow serve it from a different machine? (knowing it would be 'old' data that stops as of a certain date). If so, what would be the complexity involved in doing so?
It seems like the CDR data lives within MSSQL and the reporting interface is within the web server portion of the Call Manager... that's as far as we've dug so far.Hi
It is absolutely possible to get the data - anyone you have in your org with basic SQL skills can move the data off to a standalone SQL server. This could be done most simply by backing up and restoring the DB using SQL Enterprise Manager.
Moving the CAR/ART reporting tool would be more difficult... if you do actually use that for reporting (most people find it doesn't do what they need and don't use it for anything but basic troubleshooting, and get a third party package) then the best option may be to keep your publisher (possibly assigning it a new IP) and leave it running for as long as you need reporting.
You would then need a new server to run your upgraded V6 CCM; you may find you need this anyway.

Aaron

I'm interesting on buying a Firefox Smart Phone, but
I would like to know if are any app to install on Firefox OS smart phone in order to work with cisco call manager 10.5.
Something like Cisco Jabber for Android o iOS.
Thanks,Hi Itech,
If Cisco Jabber has a webapp, or mobile version of their website available, you should technically be able to access it through Firefox OS.
You may also search Firefox Marketplace for an alternative solution:

How to extract 911 report from Call Manager
Hi, It has been requested I provide a report showing only 911's and where they are originating. Does Call Manager have a utility I can use to extract this data?
Thanks to all in advance, it is greatly appreciated.Hi Ross,
This is the only method that I know of to do this type of search (in CCM);
Using SQL Queries to Search the Call Detail Record with Cisco CallManager
Search for Calls Made to a Specific Number
In some situations, you might need to find out the extension which called 911 on a specific date. Complete these steps in order to search for calls made to a specific number such as 911.
In order to search for calls that are made to a specific number, you can run a different query.
For example, if you want to look for calls to 911 you can enter the query select * from CallDetailRecord where finalcalledpartynumber='911'.
The bottom of the page displays all the entries in the CDR that have the final called party number equal to 911.
Add a date to this query in order to refine it.
For example, for all calls to 911 after August 1st, 2003, run the query select * from CallDetailRecord where finalcalledpartynumber='911' and datetimeconnect > '1059696000'.
The bottom of the page displays all the entries in the CDR that have the final called party number equal to 911 made after August 1st, 2003. '1059696000' is the universal time in seconds for August 1st, 2003.
In order to see who calls 911, run the query select callingpartynumber from CallDetailRecord where finalcalledpartynumber='911'.

Call manager and rme config archive report
Hi,
I know that rme does not support the call manager for config archive. It is clear.
The RME home page show config archive status for failed devices and there are some devices which are not supported by RME config archive.
I've set this devices to suspended state in RME but config archiv is trying with this devices also.
This is a financial costumer and the local Financial supervisory authority would like to see all devices config is saving successfully.
How can i exclude the call manager and similar devices from config archiv process and status reports?
Regards,Hi,
I would like to qoute from RME help.
Working With Suspended Devices
Suspended device state cannot participate in any RME application flows but all historical data pertaining to the device will continue to be maintained by RME.
Nevertheless the RME is trying to fetch the config from suspended devices!!!
What is the truth in this thing?

If this iTunesU is really going to be successful it needs a way to add quizes/assessments and to have a reporting tool for managers to check on the progress of students work assignments and the scores (even pass/fail would be ok)
So far all I see is a way of publishing materials for students to self study - a good start but can we share in the Apple roadmap plans to make this amarket leader in education for both schools and business.
Anyone have ideas on third party tools for now?
The only idea I can think of is to have a link on the footer of an iBook that will open a macro on a network that can run a question/answer log.

Looking for a good 3rd party reporting tool
I'm looking for a tool that I can use that will provide easy to read call detail reports that can be either PDF or Excel formatted. Quite often I get asked to pull reports for detailed call records of an extension for the last 3 months and it's a pain to run the query and then spend time in Excel to format it in such a way that another manager can understand it.
Anyone have any recommendations? Not looking for the high end, do it all type of software.

Using AE(htmldb 2.0) as for reporting tool for other oracle databases.
Maybe I was mistaken, but when I first saw the HTMLDB demo's I saw this as a slick way to build a browser based reporting tool for the masses for quasi-ad-hoc reporting on some of our larger databases that currently have limited reporting capability, and also as a possible replacement for the many MSAccess applets we have.
I just got 2.0 installed and working on a 9i database and went through the basic tutorials, but I can't find much info on how to connect to other oracle databases.
Are my options as follows?:
create dblinks from the local database that houses htmldb to all the other databases?
or
install htmldb schemas on each database I want to access from htmldb?
or
I'll keep looking, but if any of you have any pointers or know of a tutorial that explains the best way to do this it would be greatly appreciated!
tiaAs for question 1, yep, that's what I mean. Example:
In a schema in the App Express instance, create a user called "APP1_USER", and then
create view app1_user.people as select * from people@link_user@remotedb
As for the next question, using the built-in insert/update/delete processes will give you
ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
among other errors. Apparently version 2.1 will fix this. See Cannot Update VARCHAR column in Remote DB
We address this problem by creating pl/sql APIs for DML, and then writing our own insert/update processes. Slows us down a little, but even with that, App Express remains a productive choice for us.
Another weird problem: auto-row fetch (built-in to HTML DB) doesn't work over db links when you have two columns for a primary key. Many ways around this, e.g. create sequence-populated primary key, create a view with single column that concatenates primary key column values (key1|key2)
Hope this helps!

RE: (forte-users) Reporting tools/components for ForteApplications?
Hi Robert,
A good place to start when it comes to reporting is Forte Consulting. They
have developed a tool called ReportKit, which is ActiveX integration with
Seagate Software's Crystal Reports tool. Crystal is not really a three-tier
tool (although, your Forte Consultant can probably set it up to mimic a
three-tier tool), but it is a quick, easy way to get quality reports from
your existing Forte applications. If you're interested, give your Forte
Sales Rep (or, better still, your Forte Regional Consulting Director) a
call. They can discuss pricing and scheduling. I've done several
integration projects with Crystal, and I highly recommend ReportKit for
small- to medium-sized reporting requirements. As for costs, I don't recall
how much CrystalReports runs, but I think there are developer licenses and
runtime licenses.
FYI, the actual integration of ReportKit is pretty quick. The more
time-consuming piece of any report tool integration is the design and
implementation of the reports to be used.
I hope this helps.

Subject: (forte-users) Reporting tools/components for Forte
Applications?
Hi all,
We are looking for what is currently in the marketplace to enhance the
reporting
capabilities of Forte. Ideally, we are looking for component libraries that
we
could import into our repository. Do these exist?
Currently, I have found six reporting tools that are out there. The
tools
are Actuate, Crystal Reports, Report Workshop from Indus Consultancy
Services, Brio Technologies (SQR) VisualBRIO, Visual CyberQuery from
Cyberscience Corp., and Beacon from Brahma Software Solutions FORTify
Components. Are there any others for Forte?
If anyone is currently using one of these Reporting Tools for Forte or
any
others, could you give me any indications as to the costs, training, type
of
application using the Reporting tool, would you recommend using the
product
again, does it use wrappering or API, or is it a component based tool, and
any
other relevant information on the product?
Thanks,

Note: We are currently developing in Forte 3.0.L.2. However, we would
like
to select a reporting tool/component within the next month. We are in the
initial phases of our next project, an application to be developed
in-house.
Probably will have two databases, one for real-time data and another one
for
archived data. Probably will need reporting functionality and capabilities
for
both real-time data and archived data.

I think, SUN is not al all interested in TOOL.If TOOL were just a language and had no market yet, you are probably
right. But, not only is TOOL the key to the Forte environment, but it has
an existing and profitable market. Sun still sells FORTRAN, after all, and
continues to put money into ADE development for all its language
products. The real kicker, though, is that I think iPlanet is very clear
that Fusion, now iIS, is a very key product for them. There may be those
who wish it were written in Java and who might lobby for doing a Java
version, but it was clear at the conference that the iPlanet management
recognize that Java just isn't up to the task at this point. It isn't as
if all the iPlanet tools are actually written in Java, after all.
They will only support them for as long as they need.Or, more likely, for as long as they make money.
Now, in response to Microsofts .NET stratagy. We have yet to see how
succesfull this will be, but I expect Microsoft to push this down the
throats of developers and companies quite succesfully.Like they did DCOM?
