Call Managuer Express 10.(x) and CP-8831

In the mean time I have to install a CCME (C2911 w/ version 10)  in a remote branch with several conference ip-phones CP-8831  on the local LAN that after some months,  has to be w/ under/migrated the center Call Managuer. I have check on CCW (to order CP-7937G) and it is on a AEOS status flag, and also have seen (if I am not wrong) that  EoS/EoL Notice in CCO : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/phones/ps379/end_of_life_notice_c51-729487.html
So, as it Is not clear enoght to solve, There is a firware to be downloaded to the device?... etc.. there is any way to over came the issue?.
I would aprecciate any help and guidance.
Thanks a lot. Eduard.

After some testing I was able to get multiple 8831's to successfully register with CUCME 10.0.
The actual configuration process was quite easy after figuring out what the phone needed and it was just a matter of configuring the voice register settings as per normal SIP phones/extensions. To have the configuration files automatically created simply apply the "type" setting (I tested with other models in the 8xxx range) to the voice register pool configuration setting for the phone.
During testing the only functionality issue I could find was that I couldn't get the timezone to set correctly, other than that the phone appears to function as per normal.
End-user testing will tell if everything is successful but until the phone is officially supported this work around should suffice.

  • Toll fraud traffic pumping on a Call manager express and unity express with an 800 toll free number.

    I have a customer with a call manager express and a unity express. They have an 800 toll free number that rings in to an auto attendant on the CUE. The problem is something called toll fraud traffic pumping. The caller, always from a different number, reaches the auto attendant by dialing the 800 number. They then somehow manage to keep the line connected for up to 12 hours by somehow staying in the auto attendant. I opened a TAC case and was informed that it is not in Cisco's hands to create a way to disconnect a call that is connected to the CUE. I need a way to have a call that stays in the auto attendant or voicemail after 3 to 5 minutes. I can't see a way to do it in the auto attendant script. Can someone help with a method that will disconnect the caller if they stay in the CUE for a period of time?

    Thank you for the response Jaime.
    That is what TAC told me. I am not familiar with TCL scripting and I have been looking at some guides on it. Any advice on a source to go to for assistance with that, possibly someone to help?

  • Can MeetingPlace Express make conference calls with just meeting ID and meeting password?

    Hi,
    We have MeetingPlace Express version 2.1.1.2. It is working fine and everything but we need to change the way it works.
    For audio only conference calls, we need the users to be able to initiate meetings without having to enter their profile ID and profile password.
    For example when a caller dials the MPE number and presses 1 to start a meeting, he has to enter his PIN code to be authorized to start a meeting, we want to exclude this feature, so that any one who dials the number and wants to start a meeting, he will get a meeting ID and meeting password directly.
    Is this possible in MPE 2 ? Appreciate your help please, thanks in advance.

    I poked around a system I have nearby and can't find a setting that is an obvious choice for this one. I experience the same behavior at the 30 minute mark.
    One alternate approach you may try is called a continuous meeting. The viability of this approach depends on how this is being used:
    This likely will NOT work if you have lazy users who can't manage their time.
    The reason is a continuous meeting always consumes the licenses for itself, even if there are not participants currently in it.
    This may work if you have defined groups of users who repeatedly meet as a group in an ongoing manner.
    A continuous meeting is a scheduled meeting that reserves ports and a meeting ID indefinitely, so that
    participants may join the meeting at any time on any day. Nevertheless, a continuous meeting is in
    session only when at least one participant is in the meeting.
    I searched high-and-low for documentation on this and the only two items that I can turn up are these:
    http://www.ciscosystems.org/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/meetingplace_express/1_1/english/administration/guide/bagmtgs.pdf (page five)
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Express,_Release_2.x_--_How_to_Configure_Scheduled_and_Reservationless_Meetings#Enabling_Users_to_Schedule_Continuous_Meetings
    One downer though: I cannot get the Continuous option to appear on my MPE 2.1.1.2 hotfix 36 (last release) system. Either I'm missing an option myself or something is wrong in this version.

    I hate working on networks, especially when it comes to making Xboxs work on em. But Im a slave to live and I MUST have it. Now I have connected flawlessly to linksys routers, but this Airport is making want to take my cranium and bash it into the sidewalk until the blood drains from my skull, resulting in my inevitable and permanent resting state. So it goes...

    Router/Gateway/Whatever- 10.0.1.1
    DHCP- is set to automatic
    I have 2 Macbooks connected to this router, they work fine, as well as 2 iPod touches
    On the Xbox360
    -IP set to automatic, given 169.254.100.112, I assume this was assigned by the router, but this makes no sense because when I run diagnostics I get IP Address Failed. THIS IS THE MAJOR ISSUE IM ADDRESSING RIGHT NOW... But I assume DNS is gonna fail even if I get IP going. I could use all the help I can get y'all.

    This is not working. I have called my genius bloody uncle, and even he seemed stunned at the matter. This is ridiculous... I hate it so much. Hours I've wasted for nothing. Someone, anyone, if youre reading this and you think you can help, please, please...

    Added note, I'm running tiger OS X 10.4.11. I think I have an airport express, its my step dads. I think. I wanna say I wanna manually assign IP to something like 10.0.1.10 but I already tried that. To no avail. I've tried restarting the router and xbox and nothing really works.

  • Starting a Cisco call manager express

    I have a cisco 2651 with Cisco call manager express.
    I have too 15 IP telephones 7902G
    The configuration is in factory default.
    Ì have to create an IP pbx and extensions of a municipality with that components.
    I's like that anybody helps me in the starting configuration, Where can I find good documentation about a tipical case like this?
    I have a lot experience in networking and IP telephony but I'm newbie in CCME.
    Regards

    To begin the configuration use "telephony-service setup" command which will prompt you for some of the basic configuration ie how many phones, starting DN, etc. To add additional feature refer to the admin guide provided by Jorge link.

  • Can i do Expression to keyframes and smooth via script?

    hi guys, who know AE scripts can translate expression to linear keyframes via script(now i use app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Convert Expression to Keyframes")) ; command) but , for Comman work i must select every time property of layer(opacity, position, scale, etc) where i have expression.... but i need translate very many layers, i always click on property with expression and then do Convert Expression to Keyframes its to long.., can i do something like this
    for (var j= 0; j<selectedLayers.length; j++)
                       var SelLaye= selectedLayers[j];
                       if (SelLayer.transform.opacity.expression!=null && (SelLayer.transform.opacity.expression!=null) && (SelLayer.transform.opacity.expression!=null)) //check if layer have expression
                             SelLayer.transform.position.select=true;  //and here i need set cursor to position, expression, etc, where i have expression and translate to linear kayframes(but i dont know how)
                             app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Convert Expression to Keyframes")) //do translation
                             SelLayer.transform.rotation.select=true;
                             app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Convert Expression to Keyframes"))
                             SelLayer.transform.scale.select=true;
                             app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Convert Expression to Keyframes"))
                             //and after this also need do a smoother or something like this for decreasing linear keys for max(because app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Convert Expression to Keyframes")) create to many keyframes)
    sorry for bad English

    Sup,
    Earlier Dan Ebberts already wrote the answer on CreativeCow:
    http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/227/13039#13041
    Можно все выбранные значения добавить в массив и потом уже дергать из оттуда, ну либо вручную прописывать в скрипте. Кому как больше нравится.
    AE has "Smoother" panel, but as far as I know you can`t access it via scripting using app.executeCommand(app.findMenuCommandId("Smoother")) or something.
    But there is a script that makes same work , called Smart Baker. You can download it here:

  • Functions Call manager express

    Hi,
    I have a contact center express with standard licenses and over call manager express.
    Can i can change the calls flow via web like in Call manager express CUE or is only for premium licenses?
    Do you know any link where i can find it?
    Thanks

    Hi Zamoranoco,
    You can change the call flows i.e.UCCX scripts by using the UCCX Editor. You need to install the Editor from UCCX Admin->Tools->Plugin page on the supported client platform.
    You can use the UCCX Admin user to login into this UCCX editor and make changes.
    Please refer the UCCX Scripting guides from the below link,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1846/products_programming_reference_guides_list.html
    For supported UCCX Editor client platfrom refer the below link,

    Hope this helps.

  • Service application development with Call manager express

    Hi everybody,
    I just wanted to know is there anyway to push a message to ip phone when using Cisco call Manager express?
    Thanks,
    Parisa

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply. I have not worked with CME but we have an application for CM and want to be abale to use it for CME customers as well. and therefore I need to ask some more questions:
    -Can we edit authentication URL on phone? As i knew, Authentication url on CM is not editable from phone. It is set on enterprise parameters on Call manager administration. Is it possible to edit this value directly on phone in CME?
    -If I redirect authentication url to my application, what should it return back?
    Thanks,
    Parisa

  • FAX Machine like using Call Manager Express

    Hi to all,
    Let me share to your my problem, before we have this analog phone which connect to the our printer to have this fax machine to send fax letters, but since the phone line we used to send fax has been cut, so my boss wants me to set up a fax service using  the extension number that we have in our CME (Call Manager Express) VOIP. can any one help me how to configure and set up one extension number of the VOIP using the Call manager Express Gui v7.1 or using the CLI. since i only have a basic knowledge in networking.
    This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

    Much of Cisco's early SIP work involved proof of concept-proving that SIP worked in an IP telephony environment, with traditional features such as caller ID, call hold, call transfer, and three-way calling. Capabilities such as announcing a call transfer to the recipient before connecting the call (which involves setting up a media stream prior to connecting the call) had to be tested to make sure they would work through RTP streams and SIP-to-public switched telephone network (PSTN) gateways. Similarly, TDM out-of-band signaling (which passes information such as caller ID data) had to be passed via the SIP network.
    Most of the early adopters of SIP technology were young service provider companies looking to differentiate themselves by providing IP-based services. They include Vonage, the IP-based telecommunications services provider that used Cisco SIP gateways and SIP analog telephone adapters (ATAs) to launch its service in 2001, and B2, a Swedish IP-based telephony service provider. But even companies such as Microsoft saw the promise of SIP as far back as 2001, when it launched the SIP-enabled Windows Messenger Update for its MSN .Net initiative. The Windows Messenger Update enabled MSN users to make SIP-enabled voice over IP (VoIP) calls from the MSN Messenger client, with Cisco providing the SIP infrastructure to Microsoft service provider partners.

  • Call Manager Express B-ACD with Call Manager 5 or 6

    Can I use the Call Manager Express B-ACD with Call Manager 5 or 6, because there is no autoattendant in CCM 5 or CCM 6

    Hi Zohaib,
    With CCM (all versions), they do ship with a "stripped down" version of IPCC/CRA which is where the actual AA is built. But this is not really an "on box" solution :( You will need a seperate MCS box to install IPCC on and then integrate with CCM via jtapi. Here is a clip and link for CCM 5.x and a link for 6.x which is a rather large PDF which I am having trouble downloading today;
    Cisco CallManager AutoAttendant
    Cisco CallManager AutoAttendant, a simple automated attendant, allows callers to locate people in your organization without talking to a receptionist. You can customize the prompts that are played for the caller, but you cannot customize how the software interacts with the customer.
    Cisco CallManager AutoAttendant comes bundled with Cisco CallManager on the Cisco CallManager 5 agent IPCC Express bundle.

  • Changing the Compact Flash on Cisco 2821 Call Manager Express

    Hello All,
    I'm gonna have to swap the compact flash on a Cisco 2821 who is serving as the Call Manager express and the Dialling Router.
    What's the best way of approaching this? As far as i know it doesn't have a second slot? And i just can't plug it in and copy everything from 1 flash to another.
    Must i copy all of the files on the flash to my tftp or? How can i be sure that everything will be copied to the new flash? I will be creating downtime i suppose? since when i'm copying towards the new flash the router will not properly work with the previous configuration

    So i figured out that i can use the archive tar /create command:
    To copy the entire flash towards TFTP:
    archive tar /create tftp://X.X.X.X/flash.tar flash:
    Now i will have to insert the new flash and probably format it first towards the correct file systems. Then i will have to use the next archive command:
    archive tar /xtract "Here i am unsure of the syntax, i want to be copying and extracting the tar I backed up from the old flash"
    After these steps are complete can i just reboot the router with the new flash card, won't there be any issues, since the startup config is on the NVRAM it will load the config properly, and i haven't seen any boot parameters but they shouldn't pose any issues since i'm not changing the flash slot.
    Thanks for your assistance
