Call of Duty 4 punkbuster and PowerPc issue

So Evenbalance has decided to release an Punkbuster update..
This update is not compatible with Lion OSX anymore cause it simply doesnt work.
Cause Lion does not support PowerPC anymore i have to try and update it manually but no luck.
There seems to be an world wide issue with this noe!
First of all: I bought my Call of Duty 4 through App Store.
APP STORE?!?!?!? App Store is supposed to take care of these matters....
They are still selling it on appstore which means they are selling a faulty program on app store!!!!
Ive filed a lots of complaints to Evenbalance.com as well.... Something needs to be done here.
You cant just sell a product and then make it stop work in the middle of it!!!
Ive been playing for the past year with my iMac on Lion OSX and it has worked fine..
Someone needs to fix something here... otherwise i want my money back!!!
Has anyone found a workaround for this?

So they claimed to have fixed it!
BUT!!! They havent... they say that you should download a htm file and paste it into the COD4 pb/dll folder....
WHAT DLL folder.... who has a dll folder in mac=?!?!?!?!
Im still getting fu**in ****** about this,..
In lion, there is no dll OR htm folder !!!!!!!
Gimme strenght man!!!
Here is the reply from Evenbalance!
Note #3: Thank you but Mac does not have a DLL folder...
More ideas?
Ill paste it to the PB folder and see if it works!  /Boe

Note #2: We are aware that many Mac users are having problems since Version 2.301 of the PB Client for COD4 was released for auto-update on Monday. Unfortunately for those users, a manual update may be required.  To manually update, Mac users should close COD4 if it is open and then download
mc002301.mac.  Then use Finder to move mc002301.mac into the pb/dll folder inside the COD4 application (you may have to right-click the COD4 icon and "Show Package Contents" in Finder to browse through to "pb" and then "dll").  Please let us know if you continue to experience issues. We apologize for the inconvenience.  Support link: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=support-cod4.php

  • Call of Duty & G5 1.6 Install Issue

I just purchased for my dad a used G5 iMac 1.6 Ghz with the nVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (64 MB) and he bought Call of Duty for Mac. It installed fine but when you try to play single player, it starts up and displays an orange box in a window and then goes through the promo videos, etc and then ends up at the Main Menu - the thing is, the close, expand and minimize buttons for the window are not available and the options are not selectable at all - the mose doesn't select.
Going into Multiplayer mode works fine and smooth full screen and does not have this issue.
Does anyone have an answer as to why this is happening and a possible work around? Any help would be very appreciated...

Contact the software maker, there was changes in Quicktime in the last OS update that they may have to provide a update for their software.
Sometimes a game gets old and companies just stop providing updates because nobody asks for them.

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops extreme performance issues

I got this game and installed it on my iMac using Bootcamp. You can see my specs below, late 2009 model iMac. I've been doing a lot of gaming on my iMac with Bootcamp, I played Modern Warfare 1 & 2 and I've been playing some games that came out this year like Starcraft 2 without many issues, so I'm feeling like my rig is still pretty good, obviously not the best it could be... it's only a year old after all.
After playing around with the graphical settings extensively, I can't get Black Ops to run at an acceptable level. Even with everything set to lowest and resolution on 800x600 resolution, the FPS is still horrendous. The strange thing is it runs almost as poorly in my monitor's native resolution (2560x1440). When I try turning the other settings to higher levels, however, my computer can't even begin to handle it.
Any ideas? I'm about to return the game this feels so hopeless. If only I could afford an xbox or playstation...

Have you taken the graphics updates? are you really still running 10.6.2? I ave seen posts with people having issues with 10.6.5 but tbh iMacs are not stunning gaming machines, a windows pc at the same cost would have been a better choice for gaming. I use a PS3 for my games and would not consider the iMac an appropriate machine for gaming, that's just my view. Yes you can game on them but its never going to be as good as some other choices for less cash.

  • PS4 Call of Duty Ghosts Lag Compensation Issues

I recently got the verizon fios internet 50 mbps/ 25 mbps, tv, and phone package with an actiontec router. Since I got this, I have been having issues with playing online multiplayer on call of duty ghosts for ps4. The issue is lag compensation where someone sees me in the game first before I see them. Maybe because my connection is too fast? I don't know. I used to never have this issue until I got fios. I think it's because I end up being the host and my connection is way too fast for the other players. I changed from wireless to direct connection to the actiontec router, but it made no difference regarding lag compensation. I've tried port forwarding and DMZ, but it didn't have any effect. I was wondering if I could replace the actiontec router with another modem or router. I feel like the actiontec router is the issue, but I could be wrong. Can someone help me out, please?

hi,i have fios to my speeds 150mbps/75mbps,i have xbox one and call of duty ghost to and some times i get lag too,its not the net work its the game its self.

  • Gamecenter error: connecting to online services on call of duty black ops zombies for iOS.

So I got this new app 3 months ago called Black ops call of duty : zombies. And I LOVE it!! But every time I try to join an online game, wether it be map vote, single map, 2-4 players, restarting my phone... What happens is it takes me to the gamecenter connect page, where it connects me with another player, but after a few seconds, it takes me into the multiplayer lobby, and then pulls up a message saying "connecting to online services" and it does that for a minute before saying "error joining room" and makes me quit the online game, leaving the other person kicked off the server because the other person (me) left or was kicked, I do NOT want to jailbreak my iPhone for this problem, and I am very experienced with iPhones and other electronics, both apple and Microsoft, if there is anyone who knows how I can fix this problem WITHOUT jail breaking my phone or paying money.. (Maybe ill pay money, it depends...) then Please tell me! It has done this to me EVERYTIME for the past 3 months, and still does... So please help!

I don't think it's an issue on the phone. you may need to contact the app developer. Make sure that the app you are using is not associated on your game center account.

  • Bootcamp with windows 7 pro 32bit playing call of duty 4 modern warfare

i hope that this topic is correct in this forum..recently boot camp with windows 7 professional 32bit and install call of duty modern warfare and run the game..when i play the game..everything run smoothly..however when i press escape and goes into the pause menu..my screen hangs there..i can't move my mouse..y is it so?anyway to fix this?however when i press escape back..it goes back into the game after some time..hope i can get some help here..thanks..: )

I have exact the same problem with COD4 and my iMac and thought I'm the only one so far. So I'm sure, it is not an hardware issue, but a driver issue (esp. since the bootcamp 3.1 drivers are really outdated). Installing the latest ATI mobility catalyst drivers (i.e., 10.6) helped me at least a little by making this screen blanking somewhat more rarely but didn't solve it completely. However, I guess we have to wait until Apple fixes the iPhone issues first until they can gather some resources to update the bootcamp ATI drivers from *NOVEMBER 2009*!

  • Call of Duty 4

just bought the new macbook pro 13 inch and call of duty 4. when i go to play multiplayer, no servers come up for the game. anyone know what to do?

    @Thorv
You should have a PBSetup.run file in your downloads folder (or where ever you download stuff too)
launch it, Then when its open, go File > Add game...
Open that up and it should ask you to choose a game (choose Call of duty 4)
Use the path mentioned above "/Applications/Call of Duty 4.app/Contents/Call of Duty 4 Data"
And then it should do its thing
Now that still didn't work for me, but its worth a try
Lets hope a patch comes soon... as I dont care for campaigns

  • Missing $10 certificate for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare pre-order

Also haven't received Dragon Age Inquisition yet, but it has yet to be 20 days.  I miss having a separate rewards site to keep track of all this as it was much easier than the present format.  The way orders and point searching is integrated is not very clear.
Anyways, please help in missing pre-order bonus for CoD: AW
    Thanks!

    Hi there bradinoh-
I apologize for the tardiness of this response; it’s definitely the holiday season as we are a little backed up right now on the forums!  I hope that you are enjoying both Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Dragon Age: Inquisition as both look to be pretty fun games!
As enuf was kind enough (get it?) to point out, Dragon Age: Inquisition is not a My Best Buy Gamers Club Get $10 title.  However, I can confirm that the 500 bonus points for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has posted to your account.  Generally, those points will show along with your original transaction in your account profile.
I hope that this helps and Happy Holidays!

  • Call of Duty - Black Ops on 2010 Unibody Macbook? Gaming,

    Hi,
I'm looking at acquiring the new video game Call of Duty: Black Ops and just wondering how well (or poorly) my humble white Macbook will play the game. *Does anyone have some video footage of the game running on a 2010 Macbook 7'1?* According to the system requirements for Black Ops, the Macbook should just barely run the game, but I'm not sure how bad the game will look on minimum settings. (Yes I realize my Macbook is not a gaming machine, but I do play some older games on it like Half-Life 2.)
Here are the requirements for Black Ops:
    PC MINIMUM System Requirements
    • Operating System: Windows 7 / Vista / XP
(Any version of Vista and Windows 7 will work, 32 or 64-bit)
    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4GHz Or Better/Faster CPU
    • RAM: 2 GB Or Better
    • Video/Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT 256 MB / ATI Radeon X1950Pro 256 MB Or Better/Faster
    • Video/Graphics Card Special Requirements: Shader 3.0 Or Better AND DirectX 9.0c compatible
    • Sound card: DirectX 9.0c compatible
    • Minimum Free Hard Drive Space: 12 GB
And yes I am aware that the game will not run under OS X, I have Win 7 on here via Boot Camp.

The developer would know, at least they should help troubleshooting.

  • Punkbuster issues(Call of Duty 2)

I had no problems with Punkbuster with (Call of Duty 2) Multi-player with 10.4 on my old G5 imac it played great. I just wanted to upgrade and maybe play some window based games also! My firewall is open and am using the latest Punkbuster available but get kicked with (Server Disconnected) message. Is it possible to Partition my machine to run Leopard/Tiger/Windows XP, I have 1GB memory? I purchased this machine to have the best of two worlds, is it possible? Thanks for any input or advice! The crowd I game with say to just get a PC but I have owned nothing but Apple, I'm getting close to 50 and set in my ways:)

I have had this problem in both 10.4 / 10.5 and WINDOWS XP in the past. When this happens I trash all PB files and then download the most current version for the OS that applies.
This has corrected it for me every time. Just my opinion, but I think PB gets confused if there are too many "old" files in the folder.
    Hope this helps.
    EDIT: I am referencing CoD2

  • Can I play Call of Duty Ghosts on my iMac (21,5" late 2013) with Windows 7 and Parallels

    Hey there,
I Have an iMac 21,5" 8GB RAM 1024MB 2,9Ghz. I buyed it in Feburary. I want to play Call of Duty Ghosts on my iMac i use Win7 with Parallels. I don't know if it works? I already have Skyrim and Fifa 14 and they work very well. So I want to ask you if i could play CoD Ghosts without any problems.
p.s. I dont really want to use Bootcamp only when ther is no other option.
    Thank you

The simple answer is yes. As long as the computer meets the minimum system requirements.
    The long answer is....maybe.
Parallels is a Virtual Machine for Windows, meaning that it runs on the Mac OS X Software. Bootcamp repartitions your HD and utilizes just the Mac's Hardware to run Windows using its own OS system files.
If you have 2 games already that run in Parallels right now with no issues, then I don't see why this new game would not work. However if it does not, you may want to consider a Bootcamp parition in order to keep your Windows and Mac OS X partitions separate in the event of any OS problems.
    Good luck!
    -Captain

  • Call of Duty Atlas Pro pre-ordering issues

I've had some issues trying to pre-order the Atlas Pro edition of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. I went in store to preorder it that edition and was told I couldn't that I would have to do it online. The woman looked on the online store and said it was listed as "Coming Soon". She told me to wait a few days and check again.
I waited a few days and looked back on bestbuy.com it still was listed as "Coming Soon". I called Best Buy customer service support and told me that it was still listed as "Coming Soon" and that they couldn't order it for me over the phone. I was told again to wait a few days or go into the store and preorder it. I couldn't preorder in the store because of the "Coming Soon" listing
This past weekend it was listed as "Coming Soon" and I checked a couple of more times it was finally listed as "Add to Cart" I begin to purchase the item only to have it mysteriously disspear during the checkout. This happened 3 times on Saturday until the game was finally listed as "Coming Soon" again.
I've checked frequently the past few days only to see the game as "Coming Soon" and today I find it listed as "Sold Out Online". I've been given the runaround about pre-ordering this item and wasted more time than I should of only to find it "Sold Out". Can anyone look into this before I give up and go pre-order from Amazon?

    Hey again yingfo,
Thanks for your interest in pre-ordering the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Atlas Pro edition with us! It's definitely proving to be a popular title, so I can imagine how anxious you must feel to secure a copy.
As with any other listing on BestBuy.com, the status of pre-order items tend to change based on the availability of that product. These statuses can change relatively quickly too, especially in the case of high-demand items and deal of the day offers. The best advice we can give would be to keep an eye on BestBuy.com for updates as we get closer to launch day.
