Call procedure question

Question

Dear all,
Is there any different from calling PL/SQL Function, PL/SQL Package and PL/SQL Procedure in Jdev. by using "getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement"? Because it works when I call the function but does not work in package.
Why? Any suggestion?

However, I still get the problem........
The function (mypackage.next_value) in a PL/SQL package will return Number in my case.
When I click a "New" button on the form, suppose the function will get a new number for me.
The following are what I tried:
1) This one I got error.
I tried to follow the "Oracle Application Development Framework Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers", Session 25.5.3. and example "StoredProcedureInvocation". But error occurs at:

I tried to create a View Object (getNumberVO) with 3 transient fields.

I also tried to use the "createPreparedStatement" instead of createCallableStatement. But nothing return too..
