Call Recorder ++ has suddenly started crashing & wont open

‎I have written to the App developer's tech support 4 times in a week now without the courtesy of a reply so.i thought I would try this board for help.
The app in question is Call Recorder ++ by Ajani InfoTech Private Limited. Version 2.0.0.1
The app has stopped working. It won't even open.
I am running a BlackBerry Z30 (OS 10.2.1.3247 )
I have many recorded calls.
When I try to open the App I get a black screen with the black BlackBerry logo then after 10 seconds or so the app crashes and it sends me back to my home screen.
I note the same developer has just released an app called  Call Recorder 10 for BlackBerry ver 2.1.1.1   I' I'm wondering if they shut down Call Recorder ++
My trouble shooting steps have been to un install the app, do a hard re boot, reinstall it then do another hard re boot before opening it. The app still crashes.
I then un installed the Voice Recorder++ and installed their free version of Call Recorder 10 (their new one) I get the Same crash issue.
I know where the calls are stored. Using file manager there is a folder called Voice and a sub folder called voice recorder. The recordings are there but all out of order.
I've re installed Call Recorder ++ after un installing the New Call Recorder 10. Still no joy.    NOTE; this is my only app crashing so I would hate to do a device re boot.
I'm turning to this thread for trouble shooting steps before having to do a re boot of the  OS. The app worked fine until last week.
Can anyone propose some trouble shooting steps? Perhaps there is an app to folder issue? I notice on un-install the folder is still there so maybe I can copy those recorded calls to.my desktop and delete the voice and call recorder sub folder?
Maybe there is a conflict between the app and the folder it created on install?
Funny thing is when I get or make a call I hear a buzz in my ear indicating recording has started then I get a notification that the call recorded so it's still working in the background. I had to delete it so it wouldn't eat my storage memory.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The crash dumps will be helpful but lets try the following first:
> Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 8 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ ) This kb doc instructions will work on Windows 8.1 as well
> Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
> Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try launching Acrobat in the new enabled Admin user account and check.
Let me know if this worked for you.

  • FCPX has suddenly started crashing when trying to import media

I updated FCPX to 10.0.8 a couple of weeks ago and everything has been fine until today (I'm fully updated with Mountain Lion as well) .  Now every time I try to import media, FCPX crashes. This occurs right after I hit the "Import Selected" button -- and occurs regardless of type of media, where I'm importing it from, or how many clips.  I get a very long error message -- I've attached just the first part of it (through Thread 0) below.  The entire error message runs through Thread 37.
The only thing I did right before this happoened was to delete some old unused applications that were not even on the system HD (they were on a different internal HD - drive A).  The applications included very old versions of Final Cut and iMovie that had not been opened in a couple of years.  After I did this, FCPX suddenly started to recognize another internal HD (drive C) as a camera for the first time, and tried to import a bunch of old home movies, which it has never done before.  And ever since then it started crashing when trying to import new media -- even after I "ejected" drive C.
Any ideas?  I'm at a total loss and in the middle of a big project for a client, and could really use some help.  Thanks!

I'th Mountain Lion as well.  *and FCPX 10.0.7

Update: the problem is definitely with the internal HD "drive C".  Before restarting FCPX after the last crash I unmounted the C drive -- then restarted FCPX and was able to import media just fine.  I thought I had tried this already, but I guess not.
So, what did I change with my C drive when I deleted the old apps off my A drive?  There is both an iMovie events and projects folder on the C drive -- but FCPX has never tried to import them until after I deleted the old iMovie app (I still have the most recent version of iMovie on my system drive -- but have never used it to open these old folders).  I read on another thread on this forum that if I "hid" these folders, FCPX would not try to recognize them, so I moved them to within another folder on the same drive -- but FCPX is still trying to recognize and show them when the Import Media window is launched --  and still shows the C drive as a camera.
So, what can I do to stop this from happening?
    Thanks!

  • My Photoshop Elements 11 has suddenly started crashing every time I try to open it.

I've tried repairing the catalog and I'm told alternately that it doesn't need to be repaired and that it can't be repaired.  I've tried to create a new one, but the program still crashes when I open it.

Hi Daniel, and a warm welcome to the forums!
At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15667
After installing, Reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
At least if it doesn't fix it, it'll eliminate a few questions.

    Thanks.

    I found a solution but it's a pain in the .... Apparently
this is just another of Vista's many quirks and annoyances. n h c,
I tried what you said and it just wouldn't work.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Quark 9.3 has suddenly started crashing

My Quark 9.3 has been fault-free until now. Every time I try moving a text box or using drag-and-drop, it crashes. I have read elsewhere that Mavericks could be to blame. Is this likely and, if so, how do I uninstal it. It's driving me potty and means I can't do any layout work. Help please!

    Hi Virgodriver,
you can't simply uninstall Mavericks, you either have to start fresh or hopefully have created a backup or clone beforehand which you can use to revert.
Here's a small tutorial how to do that best:
    http://www.planetquark.com/2013/11/05/best-practise-how-to-safely-test-os-x-mave ricks-before-using-it-for-production/
If you want to stay with Mavericks, then I recommend updatign to QuarkXPress 9.5.4 (free for v9 users), as this adds Mavericks compatibility.
    Thanks
    Matthias

  • Photoshop CS3 has suddenly started crashing on start - VersionCue.framework is missing

I have been using CS3 for years on my Mac without issue. Tonight it's suddenly produced this error message and will not run:
I have looked for this VersionCue thing all across my computer but cannot find it. The AdobePatcher downloaded from the website refuses to run saying it cannot locate the product to be updated.
Re-installing Photoshop isn't possible as I upgraded to CS3 from 7 and 7 does not run on Intel Macs. I only have an upgrade version of CS3.
Is there no way to obtain VersionCue by itself? For such a vital componant it seems to be awfully hard to track down and/or fix.

That's the extremely frustrating thing. My external HD corrupted a short while ago and couldn't be fixed (it was out of warranty). I've only just been around to set up a new one with it being a busy time of year. So therefore I had no current backup at the one time when I actually needed a backup. So therefore: No backup.
I've checked to see if anything else vital is missing but it's not. I guess I won't know unless anything else goes awry.
Is there no way to just obtain this VersionCue component individually?

  • Dreamweaver cs5.5 suddenly started crashing when it starts or right after it opens...

OMG so frustrating, my dreamweaver cs5.5 has started suddenly started crashing either during the splash screen or right after I choose a web site to work on.
YES I have red the forums and tried EVERYTHING, deleted my preferences, made a new account, re-installed three times, editing the registry, done it ALL.    It seems to open now in a temp Guest acct with Admin privileges but I can't access any of my web site files, it's really not usable this way...what can I do?
It crashes during this...  even though I have cleared the site cache several times.....
How can I have this expensive of a program just not work.....HELP, I have tons to do and can't use my software!
    Please someone help!
I even CALLED Adobe and tried to PAY for help....      this is shocking to me after spending tons of money on Adobe software..
    Thank you ahead of time.

Here's exactly what was at the bottom of my bum css file:
/* Extra small devices (phones, less than 768px) */
/* No media query since this is the default in Bootstrap */
/* Small devices (tablets, 768px and up) */
    @media (min-width: @screen-sm-min) { ... }
/* Medium devices (desktops, 992px and up) */
    @media (min-width: @screen-md-min) { ... }
/* Large devices (large desktops, 1200px and up) */
    @media (min-width: @screen-lg-min) { ... }
So they were completely empty...I just stuck them in there because I wanted to add stuff in there...not sure what I will do now..
Interesting just FYI this is a web site which is utilizing Bootstrap...so these MQ came directly from the getbootstrap.com web site...

If you are using an unsecured or shared wireless network, then it could be just another user's computer name. If your sharing settings are correct, you have no worry. However, It would appear that at least some of the other user's settings are less than optimal inasmuch as his/hers is openly being displayed.
The next time you check into a hotel and use their wireless network, you are likely to see a number of other user's computers. Some just the name, as they share no files. While others are wide open, and their file sharing is on.

  • Hello! My MacBook Pro has suddenly started running slow.

    Hello!
I've had my MacBook Pro for since 2011 and it has suddenly started running slow. This has been going on for a month. I've restarted my MacBook several times and even shut it down when I know I will not be using for the remainder of the day. I've tried numerous things to make it run faster including deleting useless files like text documents, pictures, videos, etc. I currently have 92.67GB free of 500GB . I've noticed that when it gets hot it starts running slow or when I play a video game and sometimes when I play videos online.

  • When saving a jpg it has suddenly started saving as 'file'instead of jpg

When editing a jpg then hitting 'save as' it has suddenly started saving as a 'file' instead of a jpg and can't be viewed as a thumb nail or opened by double clicking. I have to right click and 'open with' and view it through windows picture viewer....what has gone wrong and does anyone know how to get it back to how it should be. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no joy...

Thank you Juergen.. you are absolutaly correct.
I had some ...'s in my file name. How silly of me, I have been using photoshop for sooo long I should have realised. Might have been helpful had it come up with a prompt saying 'invalid file name', I have had that pop up before in one program I have used....thought it was photshop, but it didn't do it this time.
    Thank you for your help.
    Caroline.

on start up i just get a grey screen with the apple logo-this has suddenly started happenin. Please help?

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
To restart an unresponsive computer, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off, then release, wait a few more seconds, and press it again briefly.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a startup failure is to secure the data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to start. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
    a. Start up from the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.” The article refers to starting up from a DVD, but the procedure in Recovery mode is the same. You don't need a DVD if you're running OS X 10.7 or later.
    b. If Step 1a fails because of disk errors, and no other Mac is available, then you may be able to salvage some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external drive with OS X installed, start up from it. Otherwise, if you have Internet access, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external drive and install OS X on it. You'll use the Recovery installer, rather than downloading it from the App Store.
    c. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, start the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    d. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
If the startup process stops at a blank gray screen with no Apple logo or spinning "daisy wheel," then the startup volume may be full. If you had previously seen warnings of low disk space, this is almost certainly the case. You might be able to start up in safe mode even though you can't start up normally. Otherwise, start up from an external drive, or else use the technique in Step 1b, 1c, or 1d to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.
    Step 3
Sometimes a startup failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 4
If a desktop Mac hangs at a plain gray screen with a movable cursor, the keyboard may not be recognized. Press and hold the button on the side of an Apple wireless keyboard to make it discoverable. If need be, replace or recharge the batteries. If you're using a USB keyboard connected to a hub, connect it to a built-in port.
    Step 5
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 6
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can start up now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
    Step 7
If you've started from an external storage device, make sure that the internal startup volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Start up in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know the login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you start up in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, the startup volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 11. If you ever have another problem with the drive, replace it immediately.
If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the startup process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 8
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select the startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.
    Step 9
If the startup device is an aftermarket SSD, it may need a firmware update and/or a forced "garbage collection." Instructions for doing this with a Crucial-branded SSD were posted here. Some of those instructions may apply to other brands of SSD, but you should check with the vendor's tech support.
    Step 10
Reinstall the OS. If the Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 11
Do as in Step 9, but this time erase the startup volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically restart into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer the data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 12
This step applies only to models that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery: all Mac Pro's and some others (not current models.) Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a startup failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 13
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • My iMac G5 has suddenly started to run slowly and I don't know how to fix it. I've run utilities which says it's working fine.

My iMac G5 has suddenly started running very slow. I've already gone through all the tricks I can think of, including reinstalling Snow Leopard and running a hardware test, which tells me my computer is OK, which it most definitely is not. Every little thing I try to do causes the beach ball to spend for 30 to 60 seconds. I'm typing this on my older computer, which is running fine. It would take me an hour to do this on the iMac that is affected.

First, you do not have an iMac G5 - they can't run Snow Leopard.
Have you checked the available disc space? For smooth running you need at least 5GB and preferably nearer 20GB free space.
Look at the bottom of any Finder window and see what it says is available.

  • My pic 3 has suddenly started draining the battery in only a few hours even when I am not using it. Might this mean something is running all the time? I recently downloaded Dropbox. How do I check? What do I do about it? Or is battery faulty? Tim

My ipad 3 has suddenly started draining battery in only a few hours. Even if not in use. Might this be because a programme is running in he background? I recently downloaded Dropbox. Might my photos still be downloading after a few days? How do I check? What do I do about it? Or might my battery be faulty? Thanks, Tim.

Using the battery level meter in this manner is comparable to using your car's fuel gauge to calculate miles per gallon.  The only thing that matters is the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown.
Use the wall-mount charger that came with the iPad and charge overnight.  Admittedly the labeling is hard to read but, if you use a magnifier and squint your eyes, you'll see "Output 5.1V, 2.1A."  The symbol between volts and amps is the symbol for DC.  Do NOT use an iPhone charger.  Do NOT use an iPod charger.  Then, operate it normally until auto shut-down (ignore any low level alerts that may appear).  An irony is that doing that test to determine the total operating time is also the exact procedure necessary to calibrate the battery level meter.
I'm not claiming that you do not have a problem.  I am stating, however, that we don't yet know whether or not a battery problem exists.
    According to Apple:
    Use Your iPad Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
Elsewhere, Apple elaborates and explains that two half-discharges (or four quarter-discharges, etc.) equals one full discharge.
