Call register and bluetooth
A customer has come back to me with a problem with regards to the call register on his factory fitted b'tooth car kit. (Ford Galaxy)
Basically, The handset is fully suppoerted by the kit (as per manufacturer's guidelines). It connects up, reads phonebook and makes and recieves calls no problem.
However, missed calls and dialed numbers will not display the name of the caller, only the phone number dialed/ missed.
I believe this to be due to the fact there is'nt really a call register, more of a "people register" in that the handset does not show which number from each person actually called you/ you dialled out, more just which person called (but not the number they called you on.
I did test this with 2 Lumia 800's and also an Omnia 7- the same result with all. So it looks like this is more of a WP7 issue, rather than a Nokia problem.
Was just wandering if anyone has some form of work around for this?
Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your iPhone. There maybe a SIM card issue with your phone. If you take it into a Apple store they would be able to get your statistics of the indivdual phone and do some trouble shooting. I had a similar issue with my 1st gen iPhone and after a while we got it worked out by me going to AT&T and getting the SIM card replaced.

E71 lost icons and call register not working
Hi!
Suddenly my Nokia E71 started to work strange: all the icons in the main page disappeared, including the call notification, message received, etc., only the clock, bat and signal icons remain. Also the call register does not work: when I try to get in, goes back and doesn't even close when pushing the Exit button.
Tried changing configuration, profiles, etc with the same result. Also tried to update but Ovi shows it has the latest firmware version.
What can I do?
Andrés.Check the standby mode by going to Tools>Settings>Personalisation>Standby>Active standby and make sure that active standby is on. This should bring up the other icons on the main page.
The other problem with the call register sounds more serious. Since there is no update available, I can only suggest resetting the phone using the *#7370# code but you could lose your data so you need to backup your phone before hand. -
When I used Safari to go to the American Express web site a request came up asking me to register my Amex card. I thought this was strange so I called Amex and they saw it when they went online and they said it was my iPad that had been hacked. I located some suggestions for flushing the cache.
There are really three ways you can flush the DNS cache on your iPad.
1) Simply turn the iPad off and on again using the power button. A simple reboot will go a long way.
2) Turning on Airplane mode and then turning it off again will also clear the DNS cache and should be enough to fix the problem. Tap on your Settings icon, then swipe Airplane mode to On and then back off. Since Airplane mode disables the wireless features of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to comply with airline regulations, this will generally do the trick.
The third method would reset all your network settings and I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that right now. -
Since I upgraded to IOS8, iphone has changed the way it calls via car bluetooth. Before (IOS8) once I hit 'call' it was transfer to car speakers and i would hear dial tone until answer. Now, call will only transfer to speakers once call is answered. This is very incovenient as I never know if my call is going through, and sometimes when call isn't answered immediately I have to look at my phone to cancel the call. Is there a new setting I am missing?
Sometimes you turn off your Bluetooth and then back on and it doesn't reconnect with your phone unless you go into the menu. Either way doesn't help much if someone calls you while you're driving and you realize your iPhone is stuck on headphone input.

After upgrading to iOS7, it takes a long time to connect a call when using Bluetooth in my car. Worse of all, when checking voicemail, the message does not come across the Bluetooth device even when audio device output is selected as Bluetooth device. Any solutions to this problem?

The problem i sthat the function in the custom folder evaluated by the Oracle fisrt and after that are evaluated the functions which sets the global variables from the parameters.
So if you open the workbook nothing selected but the global variables has set and the next time you got the result with the previos parameters.
If you change the parameters it wouldn't change the result set only if you refresh it again without changing the parameters.
This is not a good solution for using parameters in custom folders. As I know there is no good solution for this problem yet.

Trouble with Vista and Bluetooth
I'm having an issue with Vista SP2 and Bluetooth. I have Vista Home Premium SP2 running under Boot Camp on a MacBook Pro, and I have an Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard I need to pair with Windows. I followed the instructions listed in the Boot Camp manual, but Vista won't let me create my own passkey, it just "pairs" the devices for me. When I close the window, the devices do not show up, nor do they function. I called AppleCare support, and have talked with all of who could help me, and they have determined this is an issue with Windows and that I need help from Microsoft. They said I have to enter my own passkey to get it to work, and they do not know why I can't. They're thinking it has something to do with a Windows Update.
Just wondering what can I do to get these paired up and working. I really need these to work since my MacBook Pro is on a notebook riser and it's awkward to raise up and type and click in such an uncomfortable position.

NathanI cannot get the apple wireless keyboard to work with my Mac Pro (Feb-2008 model) under bootcamp and Vista Home Premium 64. I had to upgrade from 10.5.1 in order to use Final Cut Studio 3, so I downloaded and installed OSX 10.5.8 update. Then I ran bootcamp and installed Vista 64. Afterwards, in Vista I inserted the original OSX 10.5.1 DVD and installed the drivers so Vista would recognize the apple hardware.
I went to pair the wireless mighty mouse and apple keyboard and the instructions say to enter 0000 for the mouse, and enter an 8 digit or larger number for the keyboard. Since the keyboard doesn't work, I couldn't enter anything so I let the system choose a number for the keyboard and let the mouse go without a number. Both show they are connected but only the mouse works. I also tried letting the system generate a number for both but only the mouse works. I tried turning off the mouse but then the system doesn't detect the keyboard at all. For that matter, I don't even like the mighty mouse anyway and prefer to use the mouse with my Wacom tablet so I could do without the mighty mouse if that would somehow help.
Is there a known issue with 10.5.8 and bluetooth under windows vista 64? What should I do? I must have Vista 64 in order to utilize 3ds Max 2010 and I must have a keyboard to use 3ds Max. Is there a driver I can download to make it work or do I need to buy a generic USB keyboard?

IOS 8 and Bluetooth Phone and Audio Streaming Failing
I have a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2015 Nissan Leaf, both with bluetooth phone integration and audio streaming support. Both cars worked fine when I had two iPhone 5s paired to both cars and running latest iOS 7. Both phones worked in both cars and could fully integrate to make calls and also to stream audio from device to car.
When I upgraded one iPhone 5s to iOS 8 and replaced the other with an iPhone 6Plus running iOS 8, both are having problems with both cars.
1. Both gave a "failed connection" message but the phones do actually pair.
2. Both cars show a phone handset with a line through it on the in-car display which means no connection.
3. The "5 bars" cell signal indicator on the in-car display no longer shows up.
3. Outgoing calls made from phone and put through car system work fine except for some garbled audio.
4. Incoming calls make the wrong screen appear on the nissan display and can not be answered by the display on the car. Pushing the answer button on the in-car display doesn't do anything.
Lots of other tiny issues. Apple needs a fix here. I called Nissan and they said it's 100% Apple's fault.
Anyone else having issues with Nissan Bluetooth integration or any other manufacturer?We have a 2008 Nissan Sentra - The bluetooth pairs ok. When a call comes in on my 5S or my wife's 4S the bluetooth does not do anything. The bluetooth does not ring and it does not connect to the call. The call has to be answered on the phone. Like I said, the phones are paired. You can access Siri through the bluetooth to initiate a call. Once the call is connecting, the bluetooth drops off and there is no sound. Just like when you receive a call. Apple needs to fix this. This is completely ridiculous. I WAS going to buy an iPhone 6. I will not if this is not fixed.

IPhone 2.0 software and Bluetooth
I am sooo disappointed in the new software. I've successfully used my first generation iPhone with software 1.1.4 with my new Dodge uConnect system ($1,500 sound and bluetooth). Until today.
Upgraded my iPhone to version 2.0. Upgrade failed and got repeated error codes through iTunes. No big deal, I was on my way to Apple store to buy new 3G phone. 5 hours later, have new phone, and apple specialist fixed the original. New phone unable to use with uConnect. It pairs, but doesn't find the phone (?). Called Apple. They said they don't support auto bluetooth devices. (nice to know). Gave 3G phone to son, reactivated my original phone to me - still does not work.
Here I am $500 and one full day later and now there are TWO phones that won't connect to my system. PLEASE FIX THE BLUETOOTH!!!Interesting, I have a Jeep 2007 Compass with uConnect. It pairs with the 3G but doesn't see the phone when I try to make a call, or when I get a call. Worked fine with the older iPhone.
I did something after an hour (literally!) of fiddling, I thought it was turning TTY mode on...that made it work. Then when I left the car and came back it didn't work. I tried the same thing and it didn't make it work again. I tried it with another phone. No dice. Finally I gave up, and after the phone had been off for a minute or 3 it suddenly worked. Of corse it stopped again after I got out of the car.
When I told the nice AppleCare guy this he said he could help. Unfortunately we then got cut off and I had to call back and try again.
So I would strongly recommend you call back and see if the next guy can help! (and then post the answer...race ya!) -

This can refer to an actual register or a display in an electronic device.
If register is device that measures energy that why do we have a separate concept called device and device category in ISU. How are registers different from a device in ISU. I am learning the concepts of ISU being a fresher. Requesting you all to kindly guide me.

KekaThe deployment script I have posted previously to copy a project mdl over to a new repository for local deployment includes creating a control center, making it the default for your project, creating the locations, assigning them to the control center, and registering them.
Re: importing mappings using OMBPLUS
To unregister a location, first you want to undeploy anything deployed from it to avoid dangling references int he repository, and then unregister the location.
I do that in the following drop_project script that we use to delete an old copy of the project before importing the new version.

exec_omb OMBDISCONNECTThis script uses the same config and library file given in the other post that I pointed you towards. That is where you will find the definition for exec_omb, for example which is simply a wrapper for OMB+ calls
Now, note that I don't un-deploy any tables, views, sequences etc. We use Designer as our location of record for the data model metadata so our OWB project never deploys any object metadata except for mappings. Your setup may be different, still this should point you in the right direction.
