is it possible to call a skype contact using a skype to go number? if yes, what is the procedure to add a skype contact for a skype to go number?

Caller identification while using Skype Number

Hi, I live in Canada and set up a Skype Number locates in HongKong to make my friends call me more easily. But soon I found that I could not identify who is the caller when someone is calling my Skype Number.
For instant,
When I log off the Skype App and use "Call Forward" function of Skype, if someone calls my HK's Skype Number, it always displays "+10000123456" and I cannot know who is the caller except I pickup the phone.
While if I run the Skype App in the backgourd of my cell phone, and someone calls my Skype Number, the skype app will pop up but only shows "Unknow Number"
Could you give me some advice to solve this problem?

There may not be much that can be done. Caller ID from the telephone network to your Skype Number is controlled by the telephone carrier(s) where your Skype Number is located (Hong Kong). Not all carriers in all countries send Caller ID information to the Skype Number. When your friends in Hong Kong call each other on their phones, do they see the Caller ID information on those calls? This may not help your situation when receiving calls on your Skype number, but would at least verify that your friends' phones are sending the Caller ID information out when they call someone.

Confirming that yes, indeed, you and other contacts must exchange a contact invitation before you can call one another on Skype. In other words, if you send a contact invitation, the recipient must accept it first.

Cant call mobile phones using Skype in Serbia

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
My parents are currently in Serbia and they are using Skype. They have 30€ of credit on their Skype account and use it to call numbers outside of Serbia. Now, this works without problems for landlines (e.g. in Germany) but it doesnt work for mobile phones (also in Germany). Do you have any idea what the problem might be?

yes, as long as the calling plan you choose supports calls to your mobile (not all subscriptions support mobile numbers)

Skype contacts disappeared skype hangs

I've picked up a very odd problem. I have Macbook pro, running OSX 10.8.2. About a week ago I developped problems with skype.
The contacts had disappeared. When I click on contact there are none and after a few seconds skype will hang itself. Remarkebly I can still be reaching through skype. So my computer is still visible and somebody else can call me and I can answer.
When I click on windows, contact monitor, all my contacts show up there as well.
I've gone through all the suggestion on the support section of Skype. Essentially de-installing and getting rid of every bit of the skype program and re-installing it. Did that several times over, but I keep getting the same problem. I've seen on some other forums these sort of problems were related to linking facebook contacts to Skype. But I haven't.
It's really a pain, since we live abroad and rely heavilly on daily skype with friends and family.
Any suggestions?

You can call virtually any # worldwide with SkypeToGo.
If you are both on Skype there isn't any point in using STG as Skype-to-Skype calls are free.

UK mobile to call Australia mobile using Skype-to-...

Hiya, Im totally new to Skype-to-go and wanted to check something...
I'm in the UK with a UK registered mobile and want to call my husband who is in Australia with an Aussie mobile...when I went to set up a Skype-to-go number it said I should make sure the phone I was registering (my UK mobile) was in the same country as the number I wanted to call (my husband's aussie mobile) otherwise I would inccur roaming chargers...is this right or have I misunderstood? Please help!

Your phone needs to be registered in the same country as the Skype To Go number you want to call, not the final destination number (e.g. the Aussie number). You don't have to worry as there are UK Skype To Go numbers with various different area codes. Since you have a UK mobile it doesn't really matter which area code you pick as the call rates / free minutes usage when calling the Skype To Go number is the same.

Calling Any contact need to display phone number

Hi Team,
We have got updated to 10.2 for BB Z10 and its good improvement.
Basic function to display phone numbers when calling contact is still missing and should not be acceptable.
Phone number gets displayed when call is connected but not before.
This is important as sometimes we have multiple phone numbers per contact.

When making a call using Skype To Go, do we use the phone's dial pad or do we open the Skype app and dial from there?

Skype mobile ( cell ) no. shows old number, not ne...

I have changed it in accounts from old no. to new no. ages ago, but still the old no. appears as the sender no. at the receivers end in the SMS. I changed mobile or cell no.s a while ago. How do I get skype to use my new mobile number, and not the old one, as the sender number when sms'ing. Thx for your help in advance. I am happy to answer questions if you will please help me.

Welcome to the Skype Community! Your search is over because its endpoint would never conclude in your satisfaction.
When you call using Skype to Go, your Caller ID settings on the associated account will not be used and the number you call from will always be sent to the recipient. There is no setting or administrative action that could possibly change that at this time. If you would like to hide your Caller ID, you can do so through your mobile phone's call settings or through your nation's code for not sending Caller ID. (In the United States, for example, add *67 before (you add 1 for the U.S.) country code and number.)
The downside with blocking your Caller ID would be that you'd need to go through the two-step verification system every time you do that. Questions, Answered.

I'm seeing other users words instead of the emoticons in text messaging from my mac laptop. Instead of the emoticon I see the words in parens: rainbow, man, woman for example. Is skype ever gonna sync up the versions so everyone sees the same thing on its product?

Di you know you can actually add Skype contacts on Skype for Business and vice versa? Learn more about adding SfB contacts in Skype here: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12315/can-i-contact-lync-users-from-skype
So basically you can just decide for one client and continue using that. Keep in mind though that currently you can't do Skype screen sharing across these two account types. If you are using the advanced screen share functionality of Skype for Business I would recommend going for that.

I set up two Skype to go numbers to India. When it try to conference these numbers it says "Sorry we just had a Technical Problem". Can't we make conference call using Skype to go number?
