Call transfer to user rings whole office instead of user.

I'm a new IT person for my company and I've run into a strange problem. One of our users in one of our offices has the problem that whenever he gets a call transferred to him the whole office rings instead of only his phone. He is the only one that is
having this issue everyone else can be transferred to fine. He has no call forwarding option, and I've even changed the number he has been using. I've compared his offices response group with another office that is working and I can't see anything different.
I'm pretty new to Lync so I'm not sure how to fix this, something tells me to probably an easy fix I just don't know it.

When you say it says it's ringing the office, does that mean it looks like it's ringing Bob, Mary, John directly?  That's really really strange, it doesn't happen for any other user, so I wouldn't expect it to be REFER support or something else.
It doesn't matter if you change his number.  It doesn't happen when he's directly dialed, so I wouldn't expect it to be a duplicate number or odd translation.
The next step I'd take is to run the logger on the front end and watch SIPStack, I'd also run a logger on your PSTN gateway and see if you can see anything odd happening there.  I know you're new to Lync, but I think you just got dropped in the deep
end :)
A few more questions:
How do calls reach Lync?  What sort of gateway, IP-PBX, or SIP trunk are you using?
If he's not logged in, and the call is transferred, does it still ring others or go right to his voicemail?
If that computer is shut down, and he logs into another computer, does the same issue persist?
If you completely blast his Lync account, remove it from Lync:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj688008.aspx and set him up from scratch with a new number, can you get it to come back?  If that works, I'd try to give him his old number back and see if it's related to his old number, perhaps it's
something buried in your gateway or SBC.

  • 2651 only rings half the time on call transfer

I have a 2561 with T1CAS. Incomming calls hit a call handler and are given the option to transfer direct to
an extension. When the transfer occurs, The calling party only hears half of the rings. The called party hears them all.
For example outside caller calls in and hears unity handler. They transfer to extension 1234. 1234 converage is to voicemail after about 22 seconds (4 rings.)
The caller will hear two rings with extended silence between the rings and the called party hears all 4 if they dont answer and let it roll to voicemail.
The behavior is the same if you call a DID number through this circuit and router and have them transfer you to a 4 digit extension, which removes
unity from the mix. If you call the handler or extension from the inside (VOIP) and repeat the transfer you dont get this behavior. So its gotta be
something on the gateway. Dial-peer perhaps? Any ideas?

  • No audio during call transfer and

I am installing a new CUCM BE6000 ver 9.1.2 platform, with CUCM , Unity connection, and presence server.
I am configuring on Unity Connection server the System Call Handlers for basic IVR functions, with the following options:
    a) Option 2  ----> Directory handler
    b) Option 0 (or do nothing)  -----> Operator's DN 1100
    c) Option to dial party extension during call.
    We have 2 configuration problems:
    Problem1:
When you select option "2", "0" or dial the party extension the call is transfer with no problem BUT we got silence during this transfer (before user takes the call or the call goes to user's Voice Mail)......., no rings, no MoH, nothing. So we would like to know which parameter is missing that could prevent to hear rings' sound or the MoH until client takes the call or the call goes to VM.
    Problem2:
If you select option 0, the call is properly transfered to operator's DN 1100, but if the caller does NOTHING the call goes to operator's VM  instead to be transfer to DN 1100 ( DN 1100 never rings, the call goes to VM)
Here we need to know how we can set this System Call Handlers to transfer the call to DN 1100 when user does nothing.
THANK A LOT IN ADVANCED FOR YOUR HELP.

  • Call transfer through Hunt group

    Hi,
we have a call manager version 8.6 where we have mutiple huntgroups configured. Following is the call flow
PSTN callers call a DID number from outside which after the translation on the gateway, hits a hunt pilot number on call manager and eventually the call rings on all the line members of the line group. One any of the line group member picks up the call and tries to transfer the call to any internal or external number, we get the following error message on phone screen and transfer does not work
    " External transfer Restricted"
Now this happens even if we dial the hunt pilot number internally from an iphone and then if one of the members tries to transfer to an internal extension or external number, we get the error message
    More Information:
There are many other hunt groups on the same call manager server and tries to transfer the call same way as the non working one and it works for them
So i checked the difference. All the members of all the hunt groups are device profile logged into physical phone. The only difference was that working hunt group members are logged into 6921 phone where as non working users are logged into 7942 phones (sip firmare) and the profile are created for 9971 although we dont have any physical 9971 phone
So it seems that call transfer through hunt group does not work only if the members are logged into 7942 (sip) phones and works when they are logged into 6921 with 9971 Device profile
I hope its clear. Please let me know if its a known issue or limitation with 7942 phone. Any help will be appreciated

Try changing the Block Offnet to Offnet Transfer CallManager Service Parameter to False and test again.  If it then works, we'll probably need CallManager traces to see why both numbers are getting marked as offnet.

  • Exchange UM call transfer and call forward.

    Hello all,
Looking for some ideas with an issue with Exchange UM call transfer and Lync call forward.
    Environment details:
    Lync Server 2013 Enterprise Edition
    Exchange 2010 UM
    AudioCodes M3K with PRI connectivity.
    Here are the scenarios:
    Scenario 1:
Call comes in via PSTN to Exchange Auto Attendant.
    Caller enters user extension
    Exchange Calls User
User has Lync Client forwarded to mobile cell phone.
User's Mobile cell phone will ring but user does not answer.
After about 3 rings, Exchange will interrupt the transfer and say "Sorry, I cannot transfer you to that extension"
On the Exchange UM server event log, we see the following event: "
An error occurred while transferring a call to
[email protected]. Additional information: The call transfer type is "Blind.", the transfer target is "phone number", and the caller ID is: "a12b63b6-0da0-424d-87b1-b11bde4685ca".

User has Lync Client forwarded to mobile cell phone.
User's Mobile cell phone will ring but user presses ignore on cell phone
Once ignore is pressed, cell phone voicemail will pickup so Exchange will complete the transfer.
I'm don't believe Exchange UM has a no-answer timeout setting for call transfer and i'm not sure if a setting on the gateway can resolve the issue. Any ideas on how to resolve scenario 1?
    Thanks,
    Prashanth

Can you confirm that you haven't enabled voicemail escape?
Voicemail escape is set to 15 seconds by default if enabled and not specified.

  • Connection tone change to music during call transfer, how ?

    Dear all,
I have a Unity express 6 with IVR license connects to Call Manager version 5,
and I have a AA script within the unity express 6 and works fine.
However, I want to change the connection tone to music.
    For example:
Call in --> press 1 for sales, press 2 for support.
During call transfer user will hear do..do..do..
But I want Music instead of do..do..do..
Can I program on Cisco Unity Express Editor, and what step do I need ?
Can I change the ringback.wav file in call manager ?
Can I use other methond ?
    Many thanks.

    Hi alexander,

  • Unity Call Transfer with announce from IPCC

I'm trying to setup a script in IPCC for Meetme users to call into, enter in a PIN number, and be sent to the correct Meetme conference. I've got all of that working just peachy. I was hoping to also be able to use Unity's call transfer with announce functionality using a call handler. Unfortunately through testing and also verified in documentation, the call transfer functionality is ignored for forwarded calls (calls not handled by the unity auto attendant or directory handler).
Can someone enlighten me on a workaround for this? Basically I want the caller to come into IPCC, enter their PIN, IPCC shoot the caller to a Unity call handler which prompts for the user's name, then Unity announce that person's name to the conference and then finalize the call transfer to the Meetme conference.
I've tried all sorts of combinations using CTI route points in call manager, modifying direct and forwarding route patterns in Unity etc. No dice so far to get the call announce working. Many thanks in advance!
    --Jason

I appreciate all the responses. I was able to get this to work, my dunce hat was on and my Unity forwarding rule was sending to the greeting of the Call Handler rather than the Attempt Transfer.
The powers that be at my company wanted to assign a different MeetMe number to each department in order to reduce the risk of multiple people trying to use the same conference line at the same time. I did not like the fact of having to setup 20 cti route points in CallManager, and then 20 call forwarders inside of Unity that then sent to 20 separate call handlers. I found a way to bypass the cti route points and call forwarders by having IPCC send the call directly to Unity.
The trick to bypassing CallManager CTI route points that simply forward to Unity, and setting up call forwarders in Unity is this:
    1) In IPCC, use a consultive transfer instead of a call redirect. This allows you to first dial the main voicemail number and then dial the specific voicemail box once you are in Unity.
    2) On your call handler in Unity, simply specify the extension number of the call handler (I used the same number as the MeetMe line), and also set the forwarding number.
    So I've been able to change the process from Caller->IPCC Script->Callmanager CTI RP->Unity forwarder->Unity call handler->MeetMe to simply Caller->IPCC Script->Unity call handler->MeetMe
As for my IPCC script, I used arrays to handle my plethora of conference lines, it greatly cut down on the size of my script.

  • Music on Hold and Call Transfer

Got a weird issue that popped up recently. When a user places a call on hold and then transfers the call to another Lync user, the caller will hear the ring back transfer tone but also hear the music on hold playing in the background. This just started recently
after a reboot of the front end. Anyone have any ideas on what can be causing this. Below is some information that can be helpful. Thanks.
-Trunk is configured with no refer support since our SIP provider's gateway does not support it.
-Music on hold is set globally for all users with a user policy. The music on hold file is the default Lync .wav file.
-This happens with calls coming in from the PSTN, internal Lync calls that are transferred to other Lync users, and calls that come into an RGS and are transferred.

    Hi,
Please update to the latest version for Lync server 2013 and Lync client 2013 on Microsoft Website and then try again:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lync/dn146015
Please also try to disable Music on hold, then able Music on hold again and test again.
If the issue persists, you can use the Lync server logging tool to test the process of call transfer.
If Lync server 2013 not have Lync server logging tool, you can download Logging debugging tool in link below for troubleshooting.

  • JTapi call transfer / conference from Route Point

We are developing a simple call distribution application but are having problems completing the call transfer.
    our scenario is:
    Caller A calls RP DN.
    RP Accepts call.
RP Finds appropriate agent, and places new call to agent.(Call B)
    Agent answers.
    RP Transfers/Conferences A & B A.conference(B)
But nothing happens and no Exceptions thrown.
The Route Point is created without media termination.
What are we missing, does any one have any sample code for this type of call handling.
    Thanks.
    John

Ahh.. the good old RP limitations. Regardless of whether you do media termination or not, the RP has severe limitations with regards to call control. Transfer and Conference are not supported. Make sure you bug Cisco about that as only together we get this changed.
Here's what Cisco tells you to do instead: register a bunch of CTI ports, then use the RP as router so it routes the call the first CTI port which in turn does the call handling (the RP does the call routing part just fine including finding the first available CTI port (I suspect the busy trigger needs to be 1 on the line on the CTI Port)).
Then again, why do you need to accept the call? If instead you'd have the RP route the call the first available agent without answering the call, then you have the traditional RP scenario and the RP will do that just fine (you need to register it for call routing though.. jtrace contains code to do that).

  • Callback function is called with sys user context.

    1. Create AQ Queue table
    2. Create AQ Queue "MyQueue"
    3. Start Queue "MyQueue"
    4. Register "Subscriber1"
    5. Register "MyQueue"."Subscriber1" with Notification URL : PLSQL:\\Mypackage.SP_Callback
    Till here everything is fine...
    6. Enqueue message into "MyQueue" with "Subscriber1" as recipient.
    7. Now AQ notification is fired and as a result Its calling "Mypackage.SP_Callback".
Here the problem is "Mypackage.SP_Callback" is called from SYS user context. i.e if i capture the dbuser its "SYS" who is invoking the AQ notification call back method, "Mypackage.SP_Callback".
Do i have any settings so that "Mypackage.SP_Callback" is called with a specific user account instead of "SYS".
    Please help me...

    Hello,
From what is mentioned in this thread this issue is the same as that discussed in Note 552771.1. The issue should be resolved in 10.2.0.4 and 11.1.0.6 onwards.

  • Passing CLID and AgentID for CVP Call Transfer

    Hi, all.
Currently we are using CVP 7.0(2) integrated with ICM 7.5(9), Just want to check if the following is feasible:
    1. Caller calls the hotline being routed to a queue.
    2. An agent picks up the call.
    3. Agent does a consult transfer to another ICM routing script configured with another Dialed Number. It is a post call survey.
    4. The post call survey takes over the call when the agent complete the call transfer
    5. The caller's no (CLID) and AgentID are passed over to the ICM Routing script of this post call survey.
Can we achieve the above mentioned scenario particularly on item 5? Would appreciate any help and advice.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Eric

    Hi, Geoff.
Thanks for your reply. I have copied and pasted here a list of steps which you have posted previously about the CVP Warm Transfer.
    1. PG Explorer - CUCM PIM Routing Client - Network Transfer Preferred not checked
    2. PG Explorer - CVP PIM Routing Client - Network Transfer Preferred not checked
    3. PG Explorer - CUCM PIM Advanced - Network VRU - NONE
    4. PG Explorer - CVP PIM Advanced - Network VRU - Type 10
    5. NVRU Explorer - Type 10 Network VRU, label for the CUCM routing client associated with the customer instance. Let's say this is 8222222222.
    6. NVRU Explorer - Type 10 Network VRU, label for the CVP routing client associated with the customer instance. Let's say this is 8111111111.
    7. Dialed Number List - dialed number for the incoming call associated with the customer instance. This dialed number is on the CVP PIM Routing Client. This DN is associated with a call type which is then mapped to the initial script.
    8. Dialed Number List - transfer dialed number associated with the customer instance. This dialed number is on the CUCM PIM Routing Client. The transfer dialed number 3151 is associated with a call type which is mapped to the transfer script.
    9. DNP. The number transferred to from CAD is 3141 which is a pattern in the DNP that maps to the Dialed Number 3151 with a post route to CUCM PIM Routing Client. The DNP Type is "PBX" - and PBX is set up in the Agent Desk Settings
    10. Agent Desk Settings - All but "Operator" are checked
    11. When the second call is placed for the warm transfer, the label defined on the CUCM RC plus the correlation ID will be sent back via EAPIM/JGW to CUCM (for example, if the label is 8222222222, with a correlation ID it could be 822222222212345) since the call originated from the CUCM RC and since the NetworkTransferPreferred check box is not checked.
    12. A route pattern 8222222222! in CUCM sends the call down a SIP trunk to CUPS.
    13. CUPS has a static route on 8222222222* to send the call to the CVP Call Server.
    14. CUPS has a static route on 8111111111* to get the IP call to the gateway. Note that in a branch office deployment, TDM calls into the gateway use "Send to Originator" pattern in the Call Server to force the transfer label back to the voice gateway; so this pattern in CUPS is ONLY used by VoIP calls.
    15. In all preliminary scripts that get the customer to the agent, set the variable Call.NetworkTransferEnabled to the value 1. This is set before the transfer is called.
    18. For the device targets, you need a label on the CVP RC, but you do not need one on the CUCM RC, so do not add  one.
I did try the above mentioned steps in my system, the transfer works alright. The only difference is that I did not set the variable Call.NetworkTransferEnabled to the value 1. To the ICM, is is considered as Internal Out Transfer or External Out? Another thing I have noticed is that when the call transfer takes place, the IP phone would display the Route Pattern of the CM Label + correlation ID configured, e.g. 822222222212345. this is rather confusing for the agents when they see this long string of number as it does not make sense to them. Is there any way to display some other meaningful line display or number (E.g. Transfer to mainline or 2900) while maintaining the CM label pattern 8222222222!?
    Thanks in advanced.
    Regards,
    Eric

  • LINKSYS spa9000 call transfer problem

Hi, I have been reading through the forums and changing settings without success. If I set the handset to callfwd then it rings and then goes silent when an outside caller is connected. Also the same occurs when I try to transfer a call. However if I try to do the same with a call which has been initiated between internal handsets then it works fine - any ideas? I have already changed the settings on the bridge mode and enabled force proxy. Hope this makes sense Phones are spa941/942 Cheers

Can I clarify at least the call transfer part of your posting? Is it the case that: - an external caller calls in, and is answered by one of your SPA9xx phones - you then do an 'attended call transfer' to transfer the call to another internal extension - the other extension answers, but on completion of the transfer does not have two-way audio with the external caller Is that the scenario you have?
