Call Waiting???...and ringtones...and volume...

Why does my Call Waiting Feature fail to turn on? I get an error message every time I try to switch it on.
Also, ringtones will be made accessible through iTunes. There will be an option that will charge you .99 for every 30 sec. ringtone that you create with purchased music. I think they got delayed with this feature that was suppose to be in the newest release because of licensing issues. Hopefully we'll see it in the next itunes update.
Also, volume issues can easily be fixed through firmware updates. Everyone that has so many complaints about the iphone, chill the f out, wait for the first update. I'm sure it will solve many of your issues. I mean come'on...its Apple! Their updates rock.

Does anyone know if you block a contact on an iPhone 6 and you both have Verizon, will the call waiting distinctive ring still work (The caller hears a ring and beep if you are on the other line)? Or does it only work for non-blocked contacts? Thanks!

Unwanted calls can be annoying! Just to clarify, which block are you using? There is a block that comes on the iPhone 6 that can be placed via the device, or have you placed the VZW Call & Message block http://vz.to/MqEgqB on that number?

IPhone and Ringtones and Music...

Unsure if this if the correct place for this question, but here goes anyway... Sorry if it has been answered before, but these forums arent the easiest to navigate during a search
Is there a way to get ringtones from iTunes into the iPhone without having to automatically sync the files/folder?
The reason is that I manually manage my music library through iTunes and if I try to add a ringtone, it must be auto synced to be added.... Doing this wipes the phone of all music/video etc, and the only way to add music is to auto sync that too...
Is it possble, and if not why not, to manually manage my ringtones and music without wiping one or the other from the phone...?

No, there is not. Automatic syncing must be used to transfer Ringtones, and changing from manual to automatic (or the reverse) removes all the content from the phone. Assuming all the content is still in iTunes, all you lose is the syncing time.

Skype to Phone Calls - Getting two ringtones and o...

This issue is killing me... I try to use Skype to make phone calls all the time. At least 80% of the time, when I dial the number on Skype, I get two ringtones, one that is "ringing" and the other that is tonal. When the person on the other end answers the phone, the "ringing" tone stops but the tonal ringtone continues - and the person on the other end can't hear me - and Skype doesn't show me as connected to that person, even though I can here them on the call.
I use Skype for my work calls and absolutely need this fixed asap. The issue has been going on for a long time and is only getting worse.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its working now.actually by default UK code was pre-fixed, I remvoed that and now whenever I have to call I dial the complete no. of the country. Also iphone to mobile nos. vedio will only work if the other party has 3G and front camera with them else the vedio call only works from my iphone to anyone using skype on their PC/Mac.
I have to admit I am not at all happy with this gadget's battery life...it drains down like water if I am on calls..very minimal usage but still battery flies out very fast :-( . Dont know why does thing cost so much when it can't even compare its battery life with my htc.

- During a phone call, if I put the conversation on speakers ==> it works and the volume bar reappears. I can control the volume with + and - buttons. But when the conversation is over, the bar disappears again.
- With the headphones, everything is ok!
- I also noticed (only a few times) that when I do a silent to ringer mode, the volume slider reappears and works correctly during 2 or 3 seconds, before disappearing again.
I don't know what is problem,because the speakers work.

Ringtones and notification volume

Hello ,
I've got a Xperia Z3 compact , i got a probleme with my ringtones and notifications volume.
It's ok when i play it in selection menu , but when it setted , i can't herad my phone when somebody call me or when i receive a sms or other notification.....
All volumes are setted on maximum level, and i try with all souds effect turned on/off.
Is there a solution for this issue?

this prb exsisted since z2 (least from what i know )
they dont realize how soft their notification is.
playing with media is loud
but using as a notification tone is not. they need seperate volume tweaker like samsung or lg where u can only up notificaion volume to make it happen. apparently they dont watn to make one lol

Volume inconsistency: ringtone and alarm

After a sistem update I have been having volume trouble: if the screen is locked the volume for both the alarm anr ringtone is too low and I can't hear it, but as soon as I touch the screen to dismiss the alarm/snooze the alarm or answer/reject the call the volume goes up and it rings as it used to before the update. My boyfriend was going throught the setteing and although he did not ghance any settings, the volume went back to normal. Then, a couple of days later, the problem emerged again. Today I have restarted the phone and the volume is back to normal again but it is not okay for it to out of nowhere get very low and then back to normal withour any aparent reasen. Both times when I troubleshooted it or went to select the ringtone, the volume was normal and talking during conversations it was okay too, so I am guessing the problem only happens when the screen is locked... anyways, it is such a pain Anyone got any ideas on what might be causing this and how to make it NEVER happen again???

After installing 6.0.1 on my iPhone 4 I no longer get notification when another call comes in when I'm on another call. In phone settings I no longer have the icons for call waiting and call forwarding. My carrier is sprint

I no longer get notifications that another call is coming in when I'm on the phone. In the settings under phone I do not see any availabilty for call waiting or call forwarding. I had this feature before installing the new update 6.0.1.

Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer. As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you. I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.

Thanks for the additional details! Let's get this issue resolved. What software version is the device on? Please reset the Network Settings on the device. Go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings. Please Note: Audio alerts may also indicate delivery of incoming text messages or emails. The tone will vary based on the type of information being delivered to the device. Tones may also indicate low battery charge or inadequate signal strength. Keep me posted with results.

Upgrade to IOS 6.1 - all incoming calls come in as a call waiting call when there is no other call going on, and it won't let me actually answer the call.

I upgraded my AT&T iPhone 4 from IOS 6.0.1 to IOS 6.1 on Monday evening. It completed successfully overnight and everything looked good on Tuesday morning until I received my first call. When the phone rang, the screen showed the typical 'call waiting' screen, asking me if I wanted to 'End Call and Answer', 'Ignore Call', or 'Hold Call and Answer'. Using any of the selections still does not allow the call to be answered. It takes a hard reboot to clear the call.
If I make an outgoing call, the phone hangs on the 'End Call' portion. It shows the button being pressed and that it is ending the call, but it doesn't ever end. It also takes a hard reboot to clear the call.
So, I have tried hard reboots of the phone, without any success. Last night, I tried to reset the phone to factory settings and restored my phone content from iTunes. Unfortunately, I still was having the issue. I have also tried restoring the Network Settings, and that did not work as well.
Has anyone seen any similar behavior and have any advice?

A brief and probably non-helpful answer: I know of no way to eliminate your large amount of duplicates other than by repetitive, tedious manual effort.

Your only chance is setting it up as new device without using the latest backup afterwards, which you already did.

I just inherited the management of a UC 520. The phones are configured like this:
ephone-dn 6 dual-line
number 800
label XYZ
name XYZ
call-forward noan 900 timeout 20
I am having a problem with busy lines. Specifically, let us say that there are two users, Jack and Nick. If Jack calls Nick and Nick happens to be on a call already, Jack does not receive a user busy but the line continues to ring normally. I need to ensure that Jack knows that Nick is engaged in another call.
I've been googling the past 2 hours but cannot find how to address this behaviour.
Any help?

Settings > Phone > Call Waiting > On.
Edit - what I provided is for when recieving a call when on another call.
I have never used any other cell phone with multiple carriers that provides this info.
