Call waiting notification

Is there any application that enables you to be notified when the one you are calling is already engaged in a call and your call is waiting.
To make myself well understood, I am looking for a solution to stop calling someone who already is in a call and cannot answer because of this, but did activate his <call waiting> option not to appear as busy.

I am also interested in this. My old Nokia phone was notifying anyone who tried to call me that I am currently already in a call by using a small beep on the other persons handset before it started ringing.
Really helpful for people to see that you area already engaged in a call.
Does OS 6 have this function ?

Call waiting notifications on Nokia 5800!!!!

I have a small problem.
When I call somebody from my nokia 5800 and that person is talking to smb., so my call is on waiting, i don't hear anything and i don't even see it on my screen. So i don't know if that person is not answering or is on a call.
The same happens when samb calls me and i'm on a call. I receive on the screen a waiting call, but only if i look at it. I don't hear no beeps or any sound that could announce me that i am receiving a call while i'm in a disscusion.
The call waiting option is activated.
How do I solve the problem with the sound notification?

Because that is not a feature of the iPhone (or of most phones). If someone does not answer when you call, it means they do not want to or cannot talk to you at that time. They could be on another call or they could be simply busy doing something else. Why does it matter which?

Nokia 5800 Xpress Call Waiting notification

Hello all
I have problem with my nokia 5800 xpress.
the problem about call wating.
when i call someone he call to another we usually see in all other models a notification "call waiting" to be know the person we are calling to is busy talking with another
nokia 5800 xpressmusic doesnt show this notification "call waiting"
this problem causes many problem for me.
that i think that the person that i callig dont want to answer me
but the truth he is talking to some one in his phone.
i have my nokia 5800 since firmware v50.x i think that nokia will solve this problem in the next firmware but didn't solved in v 51.x and waiting for new firmware and now updating my phone to the last firmware but not solved too.
pls any one have a solution reply me.

furthermore if the reciever doesn't want to recieve ur call, he may let ur call ring through and through, in which case u'll hear ringing and at the end u'l hear a voice sayin tht the person isn't pickin up ur fone plz try later.. OR there he may reject ur call, in that case u'l 1 or 2 rings and then a voice tellin the prsn u r tryin to reach is busy, etc..
Of course these vary accordin to network..
Well in any case it's a network issue not a handset issue..
Check with ur network.

Other party Call Waiting notification

in most of my prev. phones i used to know if the person am calling on a waiting call
and this has stopped since i got the blackberry
been lookin for third party software to enable it and been surfing the web looking for solution for this issue
please need ur help as its very important to me
am using blackberry curve8900 v 4.6.1.231 platform 4.2.0.108

Somewhat confused. Are you saying that while you are on a call and someone calls you that you don't get a notification that you have another incoming call?

How to turn on Call waiting notification?

Since I am using iphone 4s there's no pop up message/any signs that im in waiting calls while im calling out to another. Is any way out for this?

I'm having the same problem, my profile has an alert tone set, but still fails to notify me when I recieve a text message. Call alerts are still working. I have tried other profiles and they do not work either.
I suspect my device may be damaged, since this started happening shortly after I drove into a tree with it in my pocket...
If it's a software problem, will resetting to factory settings solve it?

After installing 6.0.1 on my iPhone 4 I no longer get notification when another call comes in when I'm on another call. In phone settings I no longer have the icons for call waiting and call forwarding. My carrier is sprint

I no longer get notifications that another call is coming in when I'm on the phone. In the settings under phone I do not see any availabilty for call waiting or call forwarding. I had this feature before installing the new update 6.0.1.

Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer. As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you. I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.

Call Waiting / Conference call / Call Held Notification

I do not get a notification saying Call waiting when i call other person who is on another line. Other phones have the notification where it show is a conference is active or if your call is on hold. Is there a way for me to get this notification on my Iphone.

I'm not sure I quite understand what it is you are asking. Of course, not many others have either, that is why you didn't get a reply to the first time you posted this. It wasn't necessary to post a second time, you could have just bumped the first post.
If I understand you correctly, you are expecting some type of notification on your phone when you call someone else and they are on their phone? Generally, unless they have call waiting, you get a busy signal. If they have call waiting, you can hear the phone ringing in your ear, but unless the other party answers, you get no type of notification. I've never heard of any type of notification like that before. My guess would be to contact the carrier, but again, this is something I've never heard of before.
Or are you referring to you getting a call waiting tone on your phone if you are using the phone and someone else calls you?

Receive notification when I am calling "call waiting"

I used to receive notification when I am calling someone who is on another active call. It would either be a long beep after the regular ring or it would actually say "call waiting" on my phone. My Blackberry is 9300..

This sounds like a feature that is offered by your wireless service provider. I would suggest contacting them for more information as this is not a feature that is offered on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Call Minder Notifications never arrive on Orange M...

Call Minder notifications of waiting messages on the home phone fail to arrive on my Orange Mobile phone. Orange claim it is a BT problem . When I redirect my notifications to another mobile carrier the notifications arrive almost immediately. Have others experienced this problem and found a solution other than moving mobile carrier.

I have heard of this before and from memory it is due to Oranges network working in a different way that makes it incompatible with BT

Call queue notification

I just wanted to ask if anyone knew if this feature was available on blackberry, or if RIM could somehow incorporate it.
Before anyone says it was on the network, its not, its a built-in phone software feature with all the latest Sony Ericssons and Nokia handsets.
basically, if i would ring someone from my previous phone, and they were already on a call, it would tell me on my display that i was in a queue.
its NOT a call waiting service on their side or mine (i do subscribe to the service with my network provider, but thats only for incoming calls to me, ive not changed network provider since, only handsets)
any thoughts on this or applications which provide it?

The job_queue_processes parameter defines the total number of Jnnn processes available to the database, I don't have a 10g database I can connect to at the moment but I suspect the number 5 is some sort of internal setting in relation to notification processing, but it may also be that your job_queue_processes are limited to 5.

Have a look at MOS note: AQ/PLSQL Notifications cannot be serialized (Doc ID 225810.1) - it explains that currently there is no way of setting up notification to serialize the processing unless you want to serialize all notifications by setting job_queue_processes to 1 - which obviously then prevents your other notifications from being processes concurrently, the above note gives one possible code solution you could implement to enforce serialization at the notification level.

iphone 5 c I want to disable call waiting, permanently. I do not want to dial * anything before each call. I do not want call waiting, ever! where can I find this setting?

Why doesn't my call waiting feature work AT ALL?

My call waiting feature does not work at all. I receive absolutely no alert when I am on the phone and have a second incoming call. My phone goes straight to voicemail for the person who is attempting to call me while I'm on the phone.

Thanks for the additional details! Let's get this issue resolved. What software version is the device on? Please reset the Network Settings on the device. Go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings. Please Note: Audio alerts may also indicate delivery of incoming text messages or emails. The tone will vary based on the type of information being delivered to the device. Tones may also indicate low battery charge or inadequate signal strength. Keep me posted with results.
