Caller display only works on some calls

I have a paragon 650 on a bt anytime call plan.
I have only one socket and only the telephone.
When the phone rings the number will only show on some occasions. If I do a 1471 the callers number is listed.
Some times the same callers number will list and on other occasions it does not.
I have put a paragon 500 on the line with the same results(this phone works perfectly OK on another bt anytime call plan line)

If you report it to BT, they will investigate for you. It is most likely a faulty line card in the exchange.
Provided that you report it as a caller display problem, they will arrange for an engineer who has a caller display unit, to check the line in the exchange.
It could simply be that the line gain setting is too low, as the caller display does use a burst of signalling tones, just before the first ring is sent. If you are a long distance from the exchange, then this signal may be too weak.
If this burst is not received properly by your phone, then so number will be displayed.

I have created a navigation system on the master pages and set the presentation to links only mode. I also have other links scattered throughout the program, like a linkable table of contents, etc. Some of them work, some of them don't. Not sure why. Anyone out there having similar issues? Or have any idea on how I can solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated!

Links should not create any problems in Keynote. If they are set up correctly on text, the text will be underlined. Objects that have links will have a curved arrow bottom right, if you click the arrow a popup will display the link information.
Try this repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:

delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application

empty the trash: Finder > Empty Trash

Shut down your Mac, wait 30 seconds, then power on the Mac, immediately after the start chime, hold down the Shift key
When you see the grey Apple symbol and progress indicator (a spinning gear), release the Shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, then hold down the Shift key again as you click Log in.

Let the Mac fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive

when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions

when complete, restart the Mac normally, Apple menu > Restart

install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Display only works for 2 or 3 seconds after this is black on Qosmio G50

I have a problem with my G50.
On starup the display only works for 2 or 3 seconds after this is black, I connect to a external display and using de FN+F5 i can see everything on the second display, if I turn to the internal display using FN+F5 it works only the same 2 or 3 seconds.

If you can see everything on the external screen the graphic card itself is ok and works properly! So the problem must be the internal display itself or a part of it like FL inverter
Its hard to say what part exactly and I think this can only be done from professional people. So you should contact nearest authorized service provider in your country and ask the guys for help. Im sure the problem can be clarified with the guys very easy because they have professional diagnostic tools. Also they can order original Toshiba spare parts to exchange the defective hardware part.

Password Manager only works on some websites - Chrome

I've recently started trying to use Password Manager again, but it only works with some websites, and none of the important ones for me (where security is most important, such as banking). On these websites I see no functionality at all: no pop-ups, no storing, no autoloading.
Password Manager ver. 4.70 build 2.
Chrome Extension ver. 4.60.3
Any ideas?

Nobody else has this problem? Pw Manager works fine with this site and many others, but is useless with major banks and other more security-sensitive sites.

If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted. I think that's what you are experiencing.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

Is there a batch process that runs in the evening? Perhaps that ends up cleaning out the data from the buffer cache, turning logical I/O's into physical I/O's early in the morning.
Can you check the statistics on the table before the process starts and after you re-gather statistics? Perhaps there is a nightly process that is altering the statistics at an unfortunate time or in an unfortunate way.
The previous poster's comment about getting a trace file is excellent as well-- whatever your session is waiting on will be apparent in the trace.

External display only works with bootcamp

Ok, so I am not by any means bad with computers, in fact I am quite good with them. I have quite a bit of experience and can usually sort just about any problems I have out myself but this is just getting really annoying. I have a 2011 13 inch macbook pro, and a SyncMaster BX2335 monitor. I bought a miniDP to hdmi adapter when i bought the computer, and it worked great to display on my tv, however when I connect my hdmi to dvi cable up to the mbp, so that I can use my monitor, their is no picture and the monitor sketches out a bit, displaying random error messages. At first I thought that my hdmi to dvi cable was just to old to work with the mDP to hdmi adapter. However, for an unrelated reason I had to install windows under bootcamp today, and I noticed that the external monitor works. For some reason the exact same setup that I am trying to use under OSX which I greatly prefer, mDP->HDMI->DVI, only works under my bootcamp partition...I can not figure out why. The only thing that happens under osx is that the monitor is recognized, but no amount of tweaking resolutions or settings was able to get anything to display.
Oh and I have 10.6.7 installed, which was supposed to fix display issues.

Tabudrummer, just thought I'd give you a tip. I've been reading around the web and it seems like the 13" has a problem with the mDP->hdmi->DVI setup (I've got it set up the same way). Seems like OS X doesn't like it . I hope to get hold of a mDP-DVI cable in the next few days and see if it helps. Will report to you

Safari auto fill only works for some sites on my new iMac

Hi, Safari autofill only works for a few websites on my new iMac. Apple Care tried to change some settings which did not help. Autofill is checked in preference and we worked on Keychain access.

NB520, Replaced display, only work with AC power, not work with battery

I just replaced a broken display on my 7 months old Toshiba NB520 and now it only works with AC power.
The battery icon shows 52% but not charging.
When I plug out the AC power, it turns off.

Message audio only works for some contacts...

i have an iPhone 5S. I'm updated to 8.0.2 When I try to do an audio message in iMessages it works for most people. However my brother who has an IPhone 4s I cannot send him an audio message or audio text. There simply is NO microphone to even attempt a audio message. I have 1 other person in my contacts where it's the same. Also I have a friend who has an iPhone 5C and he is having the same problem. Some contacts he can do an audio message some he cannot...

Why does iMessage only work for some of my contacts?

Having problems with iMessage. It will work for some of my contacts but not others. And those people arre having the same problem, works with other people but not me.. Anyone dealt with this?

1. Both devices have to be running iOS 5.*
2. Internet latency can delay iMessage connection. If you enabled "Send as SMS", the phone will switch to SMS if iMessage doesn't connect quickly. If you disable Send as SMS, more of your messages will go through as iMessage.

Why does my mic only work with some apps?

My mic suddenly stopped working in some apps. I can use it just fine with FaceTime and Skype. It does not work when I use my Phone, Siri, Safari, and Voice Memos. I did a full restore and have the latest version of iOS.

My display only works when held in the landscape position outdoors?

My ipad works fine indoors, but when I take it outdoors to read, it only works in the landscape position. In the portrait position, nothing shows up at all.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for reading and thanks for the advice. Perhaps I'll ask them about it next time this problem occurs, although carrying the thing through a mall that is only about a mile away is the least of my worries. I'll do if it is both free (I don't make enough at my job to pay for such a service) and relatively speedy, although I'd hate for them to come over and for the computer to work properly (as bad as that sounds). It'd be a wasted trip and nothing would get fixed.
I'm contemplating videotaping myself performing my "fixes" on it the next time I have this problem.

ADC Apple Display only works by unplugging-replugging power source

I recently replaced my PRAM battery due to the following issues:
1. The ADC Cinema Display quit
2. I kept getting a "update time manually message
3. I lost connection with an external
I replaced the battery and it solved the external disk mounting, but I have to continually reset my pram by unplugging to get the cinema display to get it to work. I have reset the pmu button (for 1 second) . I have done an Apple/option pr startup pram reset. Funny thing is that it started up to the original drive. I have 3 drive slots occupied. The original drive is still in the same drive slot Don't know if this could be an issue.
Okay, I just did another restart after the screen went dead again. It didn't connect. I am unplugging, waiting 30 seconds, replugging, and waahla... the display is on. It just went off again after about a minute. I hit to on button and it didn't start. I disconnected the power this time and it restarts and the display is on. Anyone have a clue on this one?????

Thanks for the reply. I'm running NVIDIA Geoforce4 T 4500 128mb, the original card. I have no usb cords plugged into the display. I never unplug it except in storms. I'm unplugging/replugging just recently to get the display to work. I have had the computer since 2002 and just replaced the pram battery yesterday. I'm not using any cable adapters. I have 2 extra drives installed in addition to the original ibm. All drives are ATA. Interestingly, if I zap the pram, as I did for the first remedy, it restarts not in my start up drive (WD 320), but to the original drive running Tiger (ibm 120). I'm thinking about changing drive slots, but I don't know if that will do anything, just a guess.

Web page only working on "some" PC's?

Hello all,
Wondering if someone can help me.
I have set-up an applet on my web page that lets users draw on a map. If working successfully users should then automatically be sent to a second page where they can review their inputs (see the page @ http://vega.soi.city.ac.uk/~ap776/applets/taggerInput.html ).
A big problem is that I can get the applet to start from my PC at home - but I cannot get it to get to the second page! I have no idea why this is!
I am able to get the applet to run fully from PC's both at my friend�s house's and at university - however the applet will not work completely on other PC's (including my one at home!).
Does anyone have any idea why this won't work at home?....perhaps some of the experts could look at my web page to see if they can get it to work.

I don't have the original source code as it was supplied to me by Leeds University (in a .jar file).
I believe that client users need version 1.4.2 for the applet to work. However the confusing thing is that I have version 1.4.2 of Java and I.E. version 6, with Windows XP - yet still cannot get the applet to work!.......however when I use my parents PC (with a similar spec) the applet works fine!.....the only difference is that I am on a broadband connection and they are on dial-up.
I have considered trying to shut down my Norton Internet security (just in case this is blocking it) would this help?
I have also reviewed my Internet settings etc - but I cannot see anything obvious that is blocking the applet (besides the applet does "load" - its just that I can not get it to write the image to the server!).
