Caller Name ID on DROID 4 disappears too quickly

I just added the Caller Name ID for Mobile Devices feature to my phone; when I get an incoming call, I briefly see a Network Message that shows who is calling but this message only stays up for about a second before it vanishes. If I'm not already staring at the phone, I'll miss the message because of the short display time of the message. Is there anyway to increase the timeout of the "Network Message" dialog that Caller Name ID uses?
I'm using a DROID 4 purchased from Verizon on March 2013; the device has not been rooted; the phone app and contact/people app is stock.

What type of PSTN circuit is this?
If its an FXO port, caller-id is not supported in MGCP.
If its a PRI, how is calling name being delivered? Display IE or facility IE? A "debug isdn q931" for an inbound call will show you this.

I'm guessing any menu will disappear too quickly too, and that this isn't just about the bookmarks menu.
In any case, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Cloud notifications disappear too quickly

I have just started experimenting with collaborating on documents with my partner on Creative Cloud. Working together on them has been great but one problem I have is keeping track of when my partner has made changes and is ready for me to look it over. The notifications from Cloud flash up on the screen and then disappear within seconds. That means if I happen to be looking the other way, or I am making a cup of tea, I miss them and don't know to go back in and see what my partner has done. Is there some way of getting the notifications to stay up on the screen or divert to e-mail or something like that so that I know he has made changes?

Swipe button disappearing too quickly

I'm trying to delete some phone history and Soundhound history. When I swipe to get the 'delete' button, the delete button shows up, but before i can tap it, it dissapears and brings me to the phone call or song. This is something new since update. anyone else notice this?

After clicking "close" X, a message appears then disappears too quickly to read. It begins "Firefox will close now..." The word "security" appears in the next line. What is the rest of this message and should I be concerned about "security"?

To see if your message is the same or different:
1. Open Firefox
2. Press and hold the Shift key with your left hand
3. Close Firefox
4. Then, as soon as the message appears, press the Print Screen key with your right hand
5. Open the Microsoft Paint program, go to the Edit Menu and press Paste
6. A box with the full message should appear. If not, continue to open and close Firefox and hit Shift/Print Screen until you time it just right and the message will appear when you paste it into Paint

Can you put an example up on apex.oracle.com. The should act like a normal desktop application menu they are visible till you click somewhere else in the page.
If you are seeing something else then there is an issue. The built in menu's do not have a delay option in them , where you click and it disappear 2 seconds later, though I'm not sure why someone would want that.

Restarting too quickly, changing state to maintenance

I'm trying to add a new resource to stop/start at reboot time. It's a single process that needs to be started, but everytime I enable the resource it keeps stopping and starting it until eventually it goes into maintenance saying "Restarting too quickly, changing state to maintenance".

Any ideas where this is going wrong??? I've pulled the manifest file togeher looking at other things so I'm not surprised if there's errors in there. Any help greatly appreciated.

Change the name of the script to be anything other
than 'xcomd' or 'svc-xcomd' and it would work. That's
what I've done now. The start/exec and stop/exec now
call a different script. One problem I had with this
was even though when doing a 'listprop' it showed it
had taken the change, and I'd exported it out to the
manifest file, when trying to enable the resource it
would complain that it couldn't find the old script

because svc.startd uses the property values from the
"running" snapshot of the service. svcprop does that by
default as well. A plain listprop in svccfg, though, will only
show you the current values of the properties. (You can use
selectsnap to select the running snapshot and examine its
property values with listprop.) svcadm refresh updates the
running snapshot with the current property values, so that must
be done after changing properties.

Caller name id

I recently signed up for VZW's caller name id and thought it wasn't working. Based on my research, it does work but it basically just quickly flashes the caller Id information, rendering it useless. Has anybody found a way to lengthen the display time of the screen?

The Share Name ID feature would only affect the way your personal Caller ID displays for others. For example if you set it up and call me I would see your configuration on my display.

As you and Whitecollar mentioned you're experiencing an issue with incoming calls displaying name information briefly and then disappearing.
I tested this myself and the name and number did remain on my screen until I answered or ignored the call.
Are you perhaps using a third party calling application?

Finder not working properly, randomly creates a folder called "Name"

Finder has all of a sudden started to cause some really odd and sporadic file/folder navigation issues. Whenever I try to access a directory, Finder creates a folder called Name, makes random folders within the directory disappear, or both. It's odd because as soon as I either log out or restart, the problem subsides, but then it comes back -- for no apparent reason. I've taken a look at all of the logs, repaired permissions, verified disks, and dumped the Finder .plist files, but still no remedy. FWIW, this all started happening after updating to 10.7.4.
Someone else posted a very similar thread on this matter, so I know I'm not losing my mind. Is anyone else has the same problem?

Caller Name ID App

Yesterday, I received a blackberry update. When it finished, the update left an app called "Caller Name ID". Finally a message appeared saying the update installed a ten day free trial offer, but disappeared when I went to investigate. The app is on my phone, but when I hit the blackberry key, no option allows me to delete it. It seems I will just start getting charges for an app I do not want, if I can not figure how to get rid of it??? Can anyone help?

Disable calling name presentation on SPA-3102

If I send a SIP INVITE to my SPA-3102, where the From header is like this -- (spaces inserted to stop the forum software treating it as an email address -- they're not there in the real invite)
From: Caller Name <01234567890 @ my.sip.server.net>;tag=as4b617ab1
-- the SPA-3102 generates a Caller ID spill on its FXS port with 'Caller Name' as the calling name, and '01234567890' as the calling number. That's all well and good.
If the From: header doesn't have a caller name, but is like this instead --
From: <01234567890 @ my.sip.server.net>;tag=as4b617ab1
-- the box sets the calling name to be 01234567890 as well.
Is there any way to turn that off, and have the SPA just not present a calling name at all?
If not, no bother! I'm just trying to get my box to behave a little more like BT with regards to caller ID presentation -- they don't ever send a reason for no calling *name*, but if the calling number is withheld or unavailable they will set the calling name to Withheld or Unavailable -- and set a reason for no calling number.

So there is a contact field in there as well.
That's from a slightly patched Asterisk server, which doesn't put a calling name in if it's blank -- by default if you didn't set a calling name, Asterisk will also set the calling name from the calling number and you'd get this instead:

I've done product management myself so I know one customer asking for it to work a little differently (as opposed to it doing something wrong!) isn't going to make a change -- that's no problem at all. If it were to be changed, I'd rather the ATA didn't generate a calling name field in the CLID spill at all, rather than 'Unknown'. But hey, that's just my opinion!
For the avoidance of doubt, the ATA is always generating the calling *number* field in the CLID spill correctly.

The changes have brought improvements but also drawbacks compared with the old slideshow editor.
The templates are now fairly fixed but I find the “Classic Dark” gives reasonable results with some panning and you can click the audio button and browse you PC for any track. Unfortunately there are only three speed choices linked to the music track. The improvement for most people is that you can now export to your hard drive at 720p or 1080p and upload to sites like YouTube and Vimeo.

Zen Xtra 60 GB: battery goes down too quickly, even when inact

Hello, folks, this is my problem with Zen Xtra 60 GB, which I own for more than a year. A week ago I suddenly noticed that the battery is completely down the other morning, after I played music last night for a few hours on AC. So I plugged it to AC again and - differently from the other people's experiences - it started operating and charging. And I could play the music while charging, and manage the tracks with Nomad Explorer as well. After it charged completely, I unplugged it from AC, played a few more tracks and then shut it down. Next morning battery was down again. So I kept experimenting a few days in a row: charged it completely, played a few tracks, shut it down... and next morning all from the beginning again. I also tried continuous playing on battery, after it was fully charged - the playing time is also decreased.
I guess, my battery is damaged (or some settings on my player are wrong? - which seems unlikely to me). So how can I get the battery replacement? Or can I use some other type of battery? If so, what should I know when choosing the other battery?

SSR, your advice was helpful - I was able to access rescue mode. Before that, I thought of this operation as of "press C while holding Ctrl..." - I always released play/stop button after sticking the reset button, but still too quickly, and then player started in normal mode. It appears, that one should not release play/stop still for a few seconds - until the rescue menu appears. Maybe it would be good to emphasize this moment (not releasing too quickly play/stop after sticking reset) in Catherina's instructions about accessing rescue mode?
But this did not solve my problem!
I charged the battery fully, upgraded the firmware to the latest, and did cleanup. The player rebuilt my library. I played two tracks and turned the player off. After 2 hours, turned it on - battery was drained off again.
Then I charged the battery again, removed the battery and put aside. After 24 hours reseated battery, turned the player on - the battery proudly showed all three bars! Then played one track and turned the player off, and after 3 hours turned on. The battery remained with one bar only. And after 8 hours, it was, of course, empty...
So oh, what can I do? My player is more than one year, so out of warranty. And have no idea, who could repair it here in Lithuania, anyway.
Should I buy Xtra with 30 Gb (cheapest option), and then do harddisc transplantation, to save my 35 Gb of music? (Don't tell me about backups - almost all my music is also on CDs, or on my PC - it just was too long and tedious process, to upload all that to the player, and then rename and organize tracks there...)
