Callers able to hear ringtone
Has anyone received any feedback from someone calling them and was able to hear their iPhone ringe tone? I keep changing my tones and everytime someone calls they know what it is. Is this intentional or a network issue? I didn't have this happening with my Sony Ericsson phone - thank goodness - since I could use mp3's and voice commands as ringtones! (can't have everyone knowing what I really think of them!!!!)
If the headset is connected and turned on, all audio is output to the headset.

I have an issue with iPhone 4 with iOS 4, callers are not able to hear my voice even when I use the earphone or speaker. I am able to record voice memos and can hear the playback, and no issues with listening to music, videos, youtube...etc. The mute button is not on.
I tried erasing network settings and all settting but could not fix the problem. I have not tried erase all contents yet since I am not sure if this is a software or hardware issue.
Has anyone seen this problem before and can assist or if someone can give suggestions?

IPhone 4 Mic Problem - Receivers and/or callers can't hear me
Hi everyone
I'm using iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1. I've noticed lately (not sure since which software updates) that my phone sometimes wouldn't be able to hear the person on the other side (the caller when they called me or the receiver when I called them). I have to turn the power off and back on to be able to hear again. And sometimes it takes more than one time reboot to get it back.
Yes, I did drop the phone numerous times and I suspect this is the cause? I've done some googling myself and found some options to 'fix' the screw next to camera. But problem is, I don't see any screw near the camera. So I'm guessing that wasn't for iPhone 4? I don't know!
Is this common problem in iPhones or just mine (and very few others)? Has anyone found the solution? If you do please share.

EdahaniI upgraded from a 4S to a 5C and didn't realize that I was holding the new phone differently. In my situation, my little finger would cover the microphone (on the bottom near the ear jack) during my calls. I had no idea I was the cause for my callers not hearing me. If you're reading this it's because you have tried everything. You might as well try this too. :-)

Major heat problem. should i be able to hear the fans?
my black macbook with 1gb ram is getting very hot when i use front row to play videos at full screen. after about 30-40 mins the left corner of the macbook is so hot i can only touch it for a second or so. then without warning the video just freezes. the picture remains on the screen but looks like it's paused. i then get the spinning colour wheel. the only way to rectify is to force a power off (force quit has no effect). i have to let it cool down for a while and try again. it works fine after that until it gets hot again.
when it locks up, it is completely silent. should i be able to hear the fans working? there is no warm air being expelled from any part of the unit as far as i can tell. the case is just really hot.
i ran a little experiment by pointing a desk fan at the notebook and it played fine for five hours without problems!!! the corner of the macbook was cool to the touch.
this happens in lid closed or open modes.
anyone else have this or is it time to call applecare?

ok, so we have had the firmware update and guess what?
all seems ok now!!!!
coreduotemp now reports 65 degrees after playing video at full screen. much better than the 85 degrees it was hitting. now when it gets hot i can hear the fans going. i ran a terminal window and did yes > /dev/null and after only a few seconds the temp was rising to 85-87 and the fans came on really hard and brought it to 68-70. no system stall yet.
normal idle while using only safari over airport is between 41-45 degrees!!!!
i am very happy so far. lets just hope it is the cure.

No longer able to add ringtones to itunes 10.6 and up
I am no longer able to add ringtones into tones. I make the ringtones via itunes but it won't let me add it to the "tones" tab. The file is proper .m4r extension but when I try to add it, it gives me the circle with the line across the middle that doesn't let me add it to the tones tab. Is anyone else having this trouble? and if so how can I fix it?
Try Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call. I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss. The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens. All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.
My Iphone5 was replaced and having same Problem. Only does this when using bluetooth for talking.I have the exact same issue... I've been using a Jabra Extreme2 and just this weekend, bought a Plantronics Marque2 and today had the same issue, so it's clearly not the headset but the phone or OS.

i dont know what happened to my Iphone. I cant play music on speaker anymore. and when i pressed on volume up and down buttons there is no show of increased or decrease sound. i need help. but i can listen to music and adjust the sound while i m on earphone. and i can hear ringtone, alarm and all. just the problem with playing music. Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

after installing an update I am no longer able to hear sound out of my speakers. A red light comes on where the headphone jack is. I have already attempted to trip to switch with a wooden toothpick in the headphone jack but have not had luck.
Have you gone into system prefs nad made sure that the headphone port is set to audio out. And not audio in.
Also make sure that you are selecting built in speakers for your audio output.
If that does not fix it try doing a Pram reset.
Shut your mac down.
Press the startup button.
Hold down the following keys. Command Option P and R. Wait till you hear the chime 2 times. Then let go. See if that fixes it. -

And some time it's worked...OMG.....this very tiny hole located next to the headset jack........I suffered for the same issue around 20 days after purchasing my iPhone 4S. Even I visit the apple store too, they suggested to talk with apple online.....just before going to apple, i was reading "iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting" (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802) and at the very first line, i found "Make sure that nothing is blocking the top microphone (located next to the headset jack)." and this located next to the headset jack solved the problem completely for sound in vidio as well as sound with calling speaker phone.....Actually, I purchased a plastic cover (like screen protector type) that blocked this small hole (microphone hole i think) and the problem was because of this...I remember on the first day i talk with speacker phone (nothing on iPhone at that time) and it was working...
No need to restore or hard reset anything...i was fearing i'll lost everything if I hard reset my iPhone that took 5-10 to build my iPhone as I like apps, music, vidio on it.... -

if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

- You are doing a double upmix/downmix. For me, I tried playing a movie I bought from ITUNES. It was 00% 5. sound but I, like you, only heard 4 channels. Then I realized that on my Logitech analog speakers that I had pressed the "matrix" button which is meant to physically take stereo and put it through all fi've speakers. So VLC was playing the file just fine but my speakers were taking the fi've to one sound and making it stereo.

I just updated my SE Live with walkman (WT19i) with Android ICS 4. After updation its working fine.
But, I am not able to assign ringtone to any contact. It always shows as default ring tone.
