Callers cant hear me, mic problem??

I have a Razr HD. Occasionally in past callers couldn't hear me, all I get is Hello, Helllo, Hello. Now the mic seems to have quit working completely. Does not make any difference if it on speaker phone, still nothing. However I did figure out when using the camcorder, it picks up sound perfectly. I tried doing a reset and nothing changed. Is there a separate mic for the camcorder? If there is can the front mic be replaced? Thanks for the wife, currently using the wifes old Iphone and I want mine back!

This is odd cyfarms! You're right, thank goodness for your wife's old phone. When did this start happening initially? Has the phone been dropped or wet at all? (Even mist, humidity, steam, etc.) Have you tried talking with someone while using a headset or Bluetooth? Please elaborate so we can better understand and get this resolved.
Thank you,

  • Callers cant hear me unless im on speakerphone

I have a Motorola droid pro and the other day whenever I would get a call people would say they cannot hear anything from me if I change to speaker phone they can hear me just fine, I do not have a case or anything to covering my phone. anyone know of a way to fix this or is it time to get a new phone

If by chance, the phone is still within a year of purchase, it may be a warranty issue. Other than that, the microphone has failed and you need a replacement.

  • Callers cannot hear me!

As the subject header says callers cant hear me! On neither outgoing nor incoming calls. I have only had the phone since Saturday and only started to use it today since my number was ported over! I am getting fed up! Please help! k x

I am not using a headset or any other type of device. I have tried using voice memo and (if im using it properly - pressing record button and speaking, then replaying) then it is not working or doesnt seem to be recording my voice anyway! Think I am going to have to take it back to the shop tomorrow unless anyone has any other ideas?! x

  • IPhone 4 Mic Problem - Receivers and/or callers can't hear me

    Hi everyone
I'm using iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1. I've noticed lately (not sure since which software updates) that my phone sometimes wouldn't be able to hear the person on the other side (the caller when they called me or the receiver when I called them). I have to turn the power off and back on to be able to hear again. And sometimes it takes more than one time reboot to get it back.
Yes, I did drop the phone numerous times and I suspect this is the cause? I've done some googling myself and found some options to 'fix' the screw next to camera. But problem is, I don't see any screw near the camera. So I'm guessing that wasn't for iPhone 4? I don't know!
Is this common problem in iPhones or just mine (and very few others)? Has anyone found the solution? If you do please share.
    Thanks
    Edahani

I upgraded from a 4S to a 5C and didn't realize that I was holding the new phone differently. In my situation, my little finger would cover the microphone (on the bottom near the ear jack) during my calls. I had no idea I was the cause for my callers not hearing me. If you're reading this it's because you have tried everything. You might as well try this too. :-)

  • Cant hear incomimg callers

Hello I have been having this problem for a couple of days , If I ring out or callers ring in they can hear me but I cant hear them. Broadband (fibre) is working OKThe phone rings ok but when I pick it up there is continuous noise on the line (not crackling)By the way there is no noise until someone rings in the dial tone sounds OKThings checkedConnected phone to test socketDisconnected all other phonesTried different phones in the socketTried phone in different socketsChecked line status online - no problems I am away for couple of days and will contact sky when I get back but just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas Many thanks

Juts rang home and Wife says its more like a buzzing sound CheersBuzzing could be the handset you are using, or it could be something out on the line. If at all possible, try a different handset, and perform the 17070 "Quiet Line" test. This keeps the line active, but without any talking, so you can have a  good listen. If this isn't possible, then you'll need to contact Sky customer support to ask them to log a fault and/or run a line test.  In my experience buzzing is usually water ingress somewhere it shouldn't be, like in the DP (usually at the top of your telegraph pole, but sometimes underground). If it's been raining particulalry badly where you are, this could explain it. It can be other things though, like a resistance fault*, or dis one leg**.  * = Phone lines run through various peices of conneting equipment on it's journey to the exchange. If one of these connections is loose, or corroded the resistance goes up making it harder for the signal to get through.** = Phone lines consist of a pair of copper wires. If one of these becoms fully or partially disconnected or grounded we call this a 'dis one leg'.

  • I am having audio issues. I cant hear callers but I think they hear me. My keyboard isnt creating the little noise either.

I cant hear callers. I hear the phone ring. I answer and they can hear me but not I them.
the keyboard doesnt ding with each pressing of the letter either

For the Keyboard Clicks issue: Have you checked to make sure that the Keyboard Clicks options is toggled to "On" in the settings?
    Settings->Sounds->Keyboard Clicks
For the Receiver problem: I would backup the device in iTunes. Then attempt a Restore, followed by setting the iPhone up as a new device. Make sure you rename your iPhone something different as to not overwrite the existing backup you made. Doing this will not bring any of your information back onto the device, but will give you the opportunity to test the device with a new operating system installed on it. If the problem persist after the restore (set up as a new device) then the problem lies in the hardware. If the problem does not persist, then you will need to avoid restore the device from your backup, as the problem lies in a corrupted operating system. Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Hope this helps

  • Cant hear song playback while recording with external USB Interface Mic in Garageband

    Hi there
There must be something wrong with my settings in Gargaeband/Mac Sound Settings.
I have Garageband 9 (V5.1) running a song I have already recorded using a USB keyboard.
I want to record using my external mic and my USB Audio Interface, so
I select New Track> Real Instrument
I plug in my Yamaha Audiogram 3 USB AUdio Interface and I get a pop up stating
"Garageband is scanning your system for audio devices, and has detected a device named "USB Audio Codec"
If you want to use this device do not disconnect it during the scanning process.
Do you want to use this devise No/Yes."
I select Yes and INPUT SOURCE changes from
    Mono 1 (Built-in Microphone)
    to
    Mono 1 (USB Audio CODEC)
I can see the signal lights lighting up on the audiogram 3 when I talk into the mic, so theres no problem there.
Also when I hit record I can record audio using the mic, and can see the levels (and the audio wave I am creating being drawn on the screen) but I cannot hear the track itself when I am recording using the mic. Nor can I hear the track or the new mic recorded audio AFTER I have hit stop.
The only way to hear the song again with the newly recorded mic track is to unplug the Audiogram 3 (Then I get another Pop-up stating
"The audio device "USB Audio CODEC" has been disconnected!
Do you want to switch to Built-in Audio or quit Garageband?"
    I select USE BUILT-IN AUDIO)
Then the input source changes back to
    Mono 1 (Built-in Microphone)
And I can hear the track again.
So my problem as you can see if that I cant hear the track while recording using the microphone with the Audiogram 3.
But I can record video with audio using the audiogram 3 USB Audio Inteface and mic using photobooth when I select change Sound>Input to USB Audio Codec in system preferences
It therefore assume it must be a problem with the internal audio settings of the mac/garageband.
    Can anyone advise?
    thanks!

In order to hear yourself while you are recording, you need to set Monitor to "ON" under the Track Info panel.
Also, what are your sound output settings?  It sounds like you haven't selected the right output source.
If your speakers or headphones are plugged into your audio interface, then you need to go into Preferences -> Audio/MIDI and select your audio interface under Output as well as Input.  If your speakers or headphones are built-in or plugged directly into your computer, then you need to select Built-In under Output.
I have a sneaky feeling that you are in the latter scenario, and that when you plug in your audio interface Garageband is automatically switching both Input and Output over to your interface, which means no sound output as long as the interface is plugged in.

There may be a defect in the phone. As you bought it in the US the only place you can get it looked at is in the US.
When you say you bought it new, unlocked did you buy it directly from an Apple store? If you did not it was hacked to unlock it, which could also be your problem. Apple stores are the only place in the US that sells legitimately unlocked iPhones.

  • Cant hear monitor when using usb mic

hey all, question. when my usb mic is plugged in and armed for recording, i cant hear the previous track to keep my timing. the built in mic isnt that great so i like to use my external. its like when its plugged in it overrides all monitor functions. i just wanna be able to record a track while the previous one plays back. thanks guys for the help with an obvious newby.

Make sure you have the correct output selected in GB Prefs>Audio/MIDI. I assume you're using your computer speakers? If so select Built-In Output. Also make sure the recorded Track isn't muted and that the volume is up.
