Callers say my voice turns to static while on a call.  LTE related?  iPhone 6-AT&T

Callers often tell me my voice turns to unrecognizable static while on a call.  This is an iPhone 6 on AT&T.  This usually happens anywhere from a few seconds to a minute into a call, and is very frequent, upwards of 40-50% of calls.  Happened on the last 3 calls I just got today, hanging up and calling back clears the problem.  This is not acceptable when you run a business and get 30-50 calls per day.
When this happens I continue to hear the other party fine, however they typically say, "I can tell you're talking but I can't understand anything you're saying".  Signal strength is fine, I'm 800 feet to the nearest tower.  Went to Apple store, guy said there was an unusual amount of S/W errors on the phone, they had me do a complete software reinstall.  This did not fix it.
Called AT&T, they analyzed the nearest tower for errors and found a possible issue with LTE at that location, but they were not sure.  Coincidentally the guy at the Apple store told me to try turning off LTE.  This might be a cure because it (so far) hasn't happened while LTE is off.
Anyone else had this?  Suggestions?

I did try setting LTE to Enabled and Data Only but I still had the problem.  Seems so far that LTE needs to be completely off or else the phone's outgoing audio often becomes badly corrupted. I'm still trying different settings but it's hard to do when you run a business.

  • How can I check my iCal while on a call on my iPhone?

I'm on a call on my iPhone.
I want to check my iCal to see when it would be possible to schedule a meeting - without losing the call.
    How can I do this?
I don't have enough friends for them to call me and wait, or lose connection, while I try.
    Thank you

Just as is required when accessing anything else when wanting to view your calendar(s) or events, or to add or edit an event.
Press the Home button during a call to return to the Home screen and to select/access Calendar.

  • Callers say my voice sounds muffled when using bluetooth.

I have a motorola bluetooth h710/h715 and as soon as I got the iphone 4, everyone is telling my I sound muffled when using it, compared to my 3gs. Anyone else have this issue?

Can a few of you help me with a test? I have a Jawbone 2 & a Jawbone Icon. Both exhibit a strange behavior with my iPhone 4. If either of these headsets are on, paired & connected AND a call is answered or initiated, things are fine.
When it all goes downhill is in this scenario:
My headset is OFF. I receive or make a call and mid-call, I decide to turn on the headset (which I keep off to save battery). The Jawbone connects and automatically switches the iPhone from PHONE to JAWBONE. This is all normal right? Okay here's the problem. The call quality has static, sounds muffled and the caller tells me I sound like I'm in a tin can. If I then switch back to the phone (through the iPhone page of Sources) and then back again, to the Jawbone, most times--quality is back to normal. Obviously this is not something we all want to be doing. Can anyone do this test with their headset .. any brand and even some of you with Icons? It would be good to know if the culprit is the Bluetooth Headset or the iPhone. Remember, it's important that you make a call with your Bluetooth headset in the OFF position and then turn it on mid-call to use it.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. You likely have a bad battery.

  • Static while using earphones?

    Hey guys,
Just bought a 3GS off craigslist that is still under warranty til late August. Before I take it back to the genius, have you guys ever had a problem with static while using earbuds? I've tried 2 pairs and get the same static. I looked for the sticker in the jack to see if it was red, but didn't notice anything unusual. Maybe some excess lint.
    What does it sound like?
    Thanks

I'd say genius bar, but you can also use a bluetooth headset to override the plugin. It's possible the plug hole was damaged by the previous user.

    Hello candymerna,
At this point I would recommeng resetting the device if if will not turn on.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If it does turn on, but will not charge then take a look at this part of the article iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting found http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
    Power/Battery
Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.

Have you tried signing out of your Apple ID, restart the iPad and then start all over again?
Go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Then go back to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Sign in again. Then go to Settings>FaceTime>On. See if it will stay turned on and it it does, sign in and setup.

  • While browsing the internet with my iPhone 4S the screen goes black and it looks like it's turning off, but it pops up to the unlock keypad screen.

While browsing the internet with my iPhone 4S the screen goes black and it looks like it's turning off, but it pops up to the unlock keypad screen. It has plenty battery and I was wondering if it is an issue of using too much of the iPhones RAM or not. I have no other apps open besides Messages. I am getting kind of worried as it started around two weeks ago and it has gotten increasingly frequent.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these steps in order until the issue is resolved.
