Calling a YouTube video in Adobe Presenter

Hi All,
I have been working on an eLearning module on the platform of Adobe Presenter, in few of the slides I'am suppose to call youtube videos. I could embed the required .flv file directly after downloading it from youtube and it works fine but the issue is its consuming a lot of band width when accessed on lot of comps at a time.... I have tried a lot of shortcuts via google and many more tutorials but I was not successful in calling a youtube video directly from youtube server.  I have tried replacing the required .swf file after publishing the file from Adobe Presenter where that .swf file would be calling or mirroring the necessary youtube video via some AS3.
The swf file works fine when its uploaded in to a server but doesnt work in the published presenter zip file when inserted as a general swf file.
Need some help desperately..

Hi,
I want to do the same thing.
I don't want to download a Youtube video and import it in my Presentation.  I want to Embedded it.
I know that Articulate Presenter is a competitor, but I found that tutorial : Add a YouTube video to Presenter | Presenter '09 | Assistance Articulate
How to do it in Adobe Presenter ?
thanks

  • How to link to a youtube or vimeo video in Adobe Presenter

I am new to using Presenter, and am having trouble inserting videos in Adobe Presenter (the videos are often over 1 hour in duration) and am wondering if it's possible to instead insert/embed the link to the video, which is hosted on either YouTube or Vimeo. Is there a simple way to do this?
    Thank you for your help!

Hi akuswara3, thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, it appears that that the method I originally posted (above) is now broken in Presenter 8 and 9.  The YouTube video still plays fine, but otherwise the entire Presenter interface breaks as soon as the video is played (all clickable items stop responding).
That being said, you don't really need to be a Flash developer to create an SWF handler for a YouTube video.  If you have access to the Flash development application, then all you need to do is
Open Flash (from your CS6 bundle)
Paste the above ActionScript into the "Actions Frame"
Modify the script according to the instructions above to make the script call the desired YouTube video
Click File->Publish to output a SWF file.
That's it.  Google's YouTube API (and its AS3 interface) simplifies the matter, doing all the heavy lifting for us.  The end result will be a SWF file that uses the YouTube API to call, load, and play a YouTube video.  Anywhere you can embed that SWF file, you can play a YouTube video.
Unless, of course, Adobe does something to break it.
Oh BTW - as for your last question.  I do believe that the newest release of Adobe Captivate allows for HTML embedding, including <iframes>.  This would effectively eliminate the problem altogether, as you could simply embed YouTube videos using the <iframe> embed code that YouTube generates for you.
But for now, the best way to get a YouTube into Adobe Presenter is via hyperlink (very disappointing).  Instead of a plain text hyperlink, I'd suggest a screenshot of the video and hyperlinking the image instead - or at least creating a "video button" in the PPT (better interface communication).

  • Uploading a Youtube video to Adobe Premier Elements 11

How do I upload a Youtube video to Adobe Premeire Elements 11 so I can edit it?

    popto
It sounds like a download rather than an upload from YouTube that you are asking about. Please read on.
Are you asking how to get the video that is currently displaying on YouTube onto your computer and into Premiere Elements 11 for you to edit and export as you want - YouTube again or otherwise?
If so, the important question is "Is that video yours or someone else's?"
If it is someone else's then see the YouTube licensing agree which I believe does not allow for that without its approval and consent.
If it is your video, did you delete or lose the original that you uploaded to YouTube in the first place? If you have that project saved, there is no reason why you cannot just edite that Timeline and upload the edited version to YouTube. At YouTube web site you can leave the original there or delete it once the edited version of it is uploaded there.
    Please supply more details.
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements running on?
    Thanks.

  • Problems viewing Youtube videos when Adobe Reader is installed

    Hi,
Since I installed Adobe Reader XI there are some issues viewing Youtube videos. The videos stop playing after about 2 seconds, or go back to zero.
First I tried to deactivate all plugins in Firefox (which I normally use; I also tried to play the videos in IE, but that didn't work as well).
    Then activated one by one.
I use Windows 8.1  (had the same issue on Windows 8).
I got a Windows message, saying there is a problem with my videocard, from [date].
That same day I installed Adobe Reader XI.
So, I deinstalled it, and everything worked fine again.
Today I installed Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05, Dutch) and yoohoo, back to the same issue again: videos stop after 1 or 2 seconds.
Is this a known Adobe issue?

    Well, tried several things.
Used AMDDrivertest (or something like that) to detect whether the most recent drivers for the videocard, which seems to be okay.
Then, tested again (to be sure) if youtube video's played well when Shockwave Flash was deactivated. Yes it did.
So I deinstalled Flash, and rebooted pc.
Then downloaded and installed a quite old version of Shockwave Flash (11.6.8.638) and yes, youtube video's played well. But, then again, of course, the tv-site didn't work, for it needs the newest Flash player.
So, uninstalled the flash again, debooted.
Then, downloaded and installed the Shockwave Flash version as I have on my laptop, which is 11.9.900.170.
    And ... youtube vid's did'nt work again.
And... the tv-site does work.  :-|
I looked into the processes which could be related to Adobe Reader or Acrobat, (I have Creative Cloud) and stopped all those.
    Still no changes.
So, for now, I don't know what else I could do, other than watch youtube only at my laptop :-)  (better for my workflow I guess :-)
Could it be something with Creative Cloud? Seems to me it couldnt' for I stopped those processes.  I don't use that on my desktop.
    Still very strange.
The only thing I can think of theres' some kinda bug in the latest Shockwave versions.
I remember I had the same version as on my laptop installed before this one, then the problem started, and because of that I updated to the 12.0.0 43 version.

  • Embed youtube video in adobe dreamweaver cc

    Hi,
I am trying to embed a youtube video to my site, I am using DW CC. I have copied the embed code and put it in a div tag but when I try to view from the DW (clicking on live button) the video is not playing. I am getting only a white screen instead of the video. when I try to explore it with google chrome even there it show blank white screen there. Is there any solution to fix this. please help... God bless you...

Some browsers like Chrome won't display embedded YouTube videos when previewed locally.  For best results, upload your page and test online.

  • Is there a file size limit for video in Adobe Presenter?

I am uploading video to PowerPoint using Presenter and want to know if there is a limit or best practices for video file size.

If you right click on the file (navigate to it using finder, or if it is in iCloud you should open keynote, File -> Open and you should see a list of your iCloud keynotes) then press command+i, you'll pull up the info tag which will tell you the file size.
Keynote also has an option to Reduce File Size  (File -> Reduce Files Size) but I do not recommend it at all because it will severely degrade the quality of your pictures.
It's also possible to reduce an individual image's memory size in your keynote by right clicking it and selecting Reduce Image File Size).  This is more time-consuming but allows you to see if the degraded photo quality is still good enough, and you can always undo it.

  • How can I add a (youtube)video in Adobe Edge?

    I found this tutorial:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCT0mHuXN90
But the problem is that there is no "composition ready" in the action window anymore...
So how can it be done?
    Regarrds

IN Animate 'composition ready' event you're setting as the source of the iframe (the Youtube /watch page) doesn't want to be embedded in a page and thus you get  error
"Refused to display 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDGRrxntWts&feature=youtu.be' in a frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'SAMEORIGIN'."
You cannot force it to let you do that.
The correct URL to embed in yoututbe is of the form:
    http://www.youtube.com/embed/oHg5SJYRHA0

  • Muse quits unexpectedly when embedding YouTube video

Any time I try to embed a YouTube video into Adobe Muse CC, Muse will suddenly quit.  The program recently updated and I have tried both using the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" and not using it as suggested in other posts but am still having the issue.  Any ideas of how to resolve this issue would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

  • Adobe Presenter Editing

Is there a way to blur a section of a video in Adobe Presenter Video Express? Is there a way to add text (besides cc)? Adobe Presenter

Yes, you will need an actual video editing tool to do that. You could then bring the video back into Presenter as well. When using APVE, it would be best to plan on using dummy information or a version of your tool that won't contain sensitive information. This can eliminate your need to obscure portions of the capture.
As to the text, I suppose you could add text in PPT and layer it on top of the video, but that feels like a bit of a hack. There is the ability to have text in the name and title fields at the bottom of the captured video, but I suspect that isn't exactly what you are looking for.

  • Question: YouTube videos will not play, how do I fix this problem?

I have recently downgraded my MacBook Pro operating system from Maverick to Mac OS X 10.6.8 to function with Adobe CS3 software. I am unable to view YouTube videos with Adobe Flash. Please advise as to how this issue can be corrected.

    blueshelp wrote:
    I have installed version 9.
That's a large part of your problem. YouTube has code that won't allow a version lower than 11.9 period, and even THAT is recommended to upgrade to 12. Flash Player 9 isn't even a question. It simply won't work. Even a PowerPC Mac running OS10.5 would be abke to use Flash Player 10.3.
Download the latest FULL installer: Flash Player Plug-in (Mac OS X)
Then follow the steps for a clean install in this PDF: Snow Leopard Install PDF

  • Can't download Adobe Presenter 9 and Presenter Video Express for Mac

    Hi, I am from Russia.
I need either Adobe Presenter 9 or Adobe Presenter Video Express for Macbook.
I cannot download either of them, because when I try to open "Adobe Presenter" "Adobe Presenter / Buy now" or "Try now", the page says:
    Error processing your request
We're sorry, we encountered an error processing your request.
As for the Video Express, the link leads to iTunes and the program says that the product is not available for my country...
I use Macair (I cannot insert discs). I am already used to downloading from the internet and paying with my credit card... but can you give me the links?

Adobe Presenter is a Windows application, so being able to download it may be irrelevant. The link you provided works for me, but again, I think you may need the Adobe Presenter Video Express tool, as that is the Mac application (and it's free). You should be able to get it from the Mac store, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-presenter-video-express/id593844338?ls=1&mt=12.
Ah, I just caught that you are in Russia, not sure about the Video Express tool being available there, you may need to call Adobe and see what the avalablity is.

  • Using Adobe Presenter or Captivate for video narration

    Case # 181254378
    Customer said "
Using the latest version of either Adobe Presenter or Captivate on a Windows system with a web cam (or similar video capture device)
, we’d like to add a video narration to a PowerPoint presentation that is synchronized to animation contained within the slides. Cur
rently PowerPoint allows the addition audio narration in sync with slide animation. Adobe presenter allows for the addition of video
narration to a static slide (in edit view). This makes it difficult or impossible to easily time video narration to match a slides
animation. Ideally we want to record video narration with active slide animation similar to the way audio narration can be added wit
h animation playing. This removes a lot of guesswork and complication from the production process."
Please advice about the same wether this would do for a feature request or,
How can we go ahead and perform this?

    I figured it out.
If you select H.264 as the format you can then select YouTube Widescreen HD for the preset.
This will set everything up to convert your MTS file to 720p and reduce the file size by around 30% with little quality degradation in my experience so far.
The only problem I encountered was the video was kind of choppy when the camera panned but that was remedied by upping the frame rate from 24 to 29.97.
Hope this helps someone and if anyone has any suggestions to improve efficiency or reduce file size post it in here.

  • I have Mozilla Firefox and Adobe Flash Player 13 Plug-in won't allow me to watch YouTube videos

Up until last week I had IE9 and was able to download and watch YouTube videos with my son and play Facebook games.  Then one evening I tried to pull up a Yo Gabba Gabba video on YouTube and the video window was blank.  I had watched this video the night before with him, and the only thing I can think of is there was a Flash Player update that tried to download.  I saw several posts that suggested downloading a new broswer, but I waited for 3 nights thinking it was just a glitch.  I finally gave up and sent a pm to one of my friends who is a Internet Service Technician.  She told me to download Mozilla Firefox, which I did, and the problem seemed to be solved.  I was once again able to download and watch YouTube videos, as well as play games on Facebook.  And it seemed my pages, pictures, etc. all downloaded 10x faster.  That worked until the next evening and suddenly I once again could not download and watch YouTube videos.
I checked my system and it found that Adobe had done an automatic update so that instead of just having Adobe Flash Player 13 Active X I now had Adobe Flash Player 13 plug-in.  I also noticed that Adobe Air was downloaded on my computer.  I went in and uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player 13 Plug-in and I was once again able to download and watch YouTube videos.  But when I tried to play games on Facebook I was told I would need to install at least Adobe Flash Player 10.0.2.  I went to find that or an older version but each time I tried to download from Adobe I would get the Adobe Flash Player 13 Plug-in version, and once again I was unable to download and watch YouTube videos.  I was, however, able to play the games on Facebook again.
Remember when I just had Adobe Flash Player 13 Active X I was able to do both while having Mozilla Firefox.  I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find recent articles that talk about this problem.  Can someone please tell me what I can do so that I can keep Mozilla Firefox, as it is 10X faster than IE9 and with Firefox my Facebook doesn't crash all of the time?  But I also want to have the ability to download and watch YouTube videos with my son, as well as the play games on Facebook.
I should also note each time I went to uninstall Adobe Flash Player 13 Plug-in I received an error message saying there was a conflict with Mozilla Firefox and I first had to shut it down before the uninstall would proceed.  Also, I received a reply on Adobe's Facebook page from a Tech who had me check to see if I had the latest version of Flash Player.  I did have the most recent version.  He then asked me to go to my add-ons and enable Shockwave.  I followed the instructions and it was already enabled (or it said always activate).  Neither of those helped me be able to download and watch YouTube videos.  But I can still play Facebook games.

What is your current Flash Player version: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html ?
