Calling all Act! for Palm Users

I've been working with a T5 and Act! for Palm OS (lately, version 2) for a couple of years now. I don't get much useful feedback from Sage about this product, and don't think that they are paying particularly much attention to the long list of bugs I seem to have run into. They have their own users' forum, but I cannot seem to find many people using this product. I'm trying to figure out if there are really very few people out there using Act! for Palm (along with Act!, naturally), or if I'm one of the few people stuck with it. I figure if I can track some people down, I'll be able to get a better idea if the many problems I am having with the program are unique or are system bugs. Anyone who feels like replying, please do. I'm glad to hear that your version of Act for Palm is working. Basically, it was full of bugs and you have either been lucky or you have not stumbled across those particular functions that they never programmed correctly. I don't believe that it will work with the Pre, but you should simply try it out. Sage (Act) division is a minor part of the company and there is no active customer support. They have a strategy which includes updating their programs, and selling the fixes in the next version. They do not eliminate faulty programming work in their existing programs for free. They have, I guess, a docile and small customer base which does not demand this. They have discontinued all work on AfPalm and moved on to another upgrade--which will probably be just as buggy as all their other work. You need to purchase a new version of Act and subscribe to an on-line synchronization service, I believe. At this point, I am just waiting for MS to come up with a good translation program that will allow me to migrate away from Act entirely. I won't fall for the "upgrade" policy of Sage anymore! If you are really determined to stay with Act, you might want to get a sample of the new program and try it with a Pre. However, bear in mind a few things. When you install the new version of Act, you will no longer be able to read your existing database (a "clever" ploy by Sage to trap new users in the new version, despite the "money-back" guarantee). Also, I have noticed very often that newer versions of Act are unable to open backups of earlier versions. So ... beware!

Get all Groups for current user

Hi I try to get all groups for the current logged on user. This is what I do:
First I try to search with the IGruopSearchFilter to obtain all unique Group IDs. I always get an proxy error by doing this, maybe the query is to much.
Then I want to use the method group.isUserMember(user.getUniqueID() to check whether the user is a member of that group or not.
Is there a better way to obtain all groups for a user (without using a query IGroupSearchFilter)?

I want to know how to block calls based on ANI for individual user in CUCM? Lets say if the individual wants to block calls from certain number.
Malicious call id - softkey will not work for our purpose.

How to have mail server automatically cc all email for a user to other acct

I have a user on my 4.9 Xserve who wants her email automatically send to another account. I set forwarding first, but her email client keeps asking her for a password (and hers doesn't work) and won't allow her to see past email. Is that normal? Anyway, I've shut off forwarding for now, and am wondering if it's possible to have it automatically cc'd to another account (send a copy, but don't interfere with her ability to manage the email in her normal account with an IMAP client). Any ideas?

In Terminal, cd to postfix directory, and just for interest, list the files already there...
cd /etc/postfix
ls -l
You should see the main.cf one which you will edit later.
Create the new recipient_bcc file using 'pico', one of the built-in text editors. This is the easiest to start with because it contains on-screen help. There are others, including 'vi' which I would normally use. You will prefix the command with 'sudo' which temporarily makes you the 'super-user' (root) and needs the admin password. So...
sudo pico recipient_bcc
Add the two email addresses, separated by a tab or space, on the left: the local email address, and on the right: the address to send copies to (BCCs). To edit existing text, use arrow keys. Save the file using ctrl-o, confirm filename, then exit (ctrl-x).
For postfix to be able to read this as a database, you need to 'postmap' it...
sudo postmap recipient_bcc
To confirm, list the files and you will see the two new ones (ls -l).
Before editing the main.cf file, make a backup copy of it...
sudo cp main.cf main.cf.bak
If you need to revert to the backup, you reverse the orig/target args...
sudo cp main.cf.bak main.cf
Edit the main.cf file (sudo pico main.cf) and either 'next page' to bottom or enter '^_' (ctrl + underscore char) then specify line number 999.
add the line...
recipientbccmaps = hash:/etc/postfix/recipient_bcc
Postfix knows to use the postmaped .db file so you do not specify that one in the line.
Save and exit file.
Reload the postfix main.cf configuration file...
sudo postfix reload
Test it by sending an email to the user and watch the mail.log in Console app. You should see the BCC being sent to the other email address. If something has gone wrong, replace the main.cf with the backup, issue postfix reload, then try again.
Once you have confirmed it working, dance around the room playing air guitar and give high-fives to any innocent bystander.

Any advanced call log tracker for Palm Treo's?

I own a Palm Treo 680, with Rogers as my carrier. I subscribe to a phone plan that allows me to call 200 daytime min/mth (8am-6pm) for free and $x.xx thereafter, and unlimited evenings & weekends. I also subscribe to text messaging; Rogers allows me to send 125 msgs/mth and $0.xx thereafter, & receiving text msgs is free. Now, "Total Hawk 1.01" by Wolflane Software comes close to what I want, but doesn't allow me to enter parameters for the said restrictions. Does anyone know of any palm software that is slightly more advanced than "Total Hawk"? Thx in advance.

Personally I don't use any software to track this, but I did a lot of looking around and the Total Hawk looks like the best that is out there.

How to delete all objects for one user from SE80

Hi all,
If i want to delete the customer objects defined in the customer space Y or Z from SE80. Object of one user is defined in one package, if i want to delete the pakcage it says, it contain the subobject. So can anybody help me how to delete the customer objects from SE80.

i think here you want to delege the development class, if you want to delete the particular development class you have to go for se09 where after selecting the particular development class you can select the delete button.

EXP: Export all tables for one user except the contents of one table

I need to export all tables (> 100 Tables) of an user except the contents of one table. Is there a possibility to call the EXP command and exclude the one table ??

It is not possible to perform it from a client. Is this correct? The datapump task itself can be started from a client, but - you are right - datapump is server-based. Especially that refers to the dumpfile location, which has to be defined as DIRECTORY on the server:

Calling All NX6600GT-VTD128 AGP Users -- Post your temperature readings

Hi to all MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 AGP Users,
I've recently purchased a NX6600GT-VTD128 AGP card and have done some testing for a few days now. I read about the BIOS temperature modification and got it done with my card. To my surprise, the temperature reading is way above most of the temperature reading i see from you guys here. Here is my temperature reading :
Idle : ~70C
Load : ~90C
so far, i've only seen 1 or 2 users with the same overheating problem and i couldn't figure out what is wrong with my card. i can run 3dmark, games and everything else i throw at it without any system instability, but the temperature reading is making me nervous. 90C at full load is way too high and not acceptable. i've changed the thermal compound to ArticSilver Ceramique, tighten the screws to make sure the GPU Core and the HSF are making good contact. In fact, i did all that twice to make sure i get everything right. Other components on the board, including the PCB are equaly hot during full load. In fact, during full load, the heat is so intense that i couldn't put my fingers on the PCB or the HSF for more than 1 sec without getting my fingers burnt.
Problems i've given thoughts about are
1. bad contact between the GPU core and the HSF
2. faulty built-in temperature
As for problem 1, like i've mentioned above, i've double checked and reapply ArticSilver on the GPU and RAM chips. Just to be sure, the HSF itself is really hot during full load and quite warm during idle (tested using my fingers . so that means the heat is being transfered to the HSF correctly. (correct me if i'm wrong). As for problem 2, i couldnt tell because i don't have any reference tempearture monitoring device to compare the readings.
Im new to this card so i'm really hoping that more experience users will post something here, including your temperature reading for this card, to help me address this issue. If possible, I don't wish to change the onboard HSF. I'm using a 450Watt power supply. Please advice. thanks in advance.

I have two AGP MSI 6600GT's.
1) Idles 46, load around 62
2) Idles 52, load around 68
Both heatsinks were removed and Arctic Silver Ceramique added. Number 2 above is actually in a colder section of the house, yet has higher idle and load temp. I think the sensors are fairly accurate, but not if you have a faulty one which might be the case.

It's accurate to within 1C. It is being used with card #1 above, at 46C idle the display is showing around 36 which makes perfect sense because the internal temperature can be higher by around 10-15C or even more.
If you suspect bad contact with the heatsink. Turn the lights down low, and shine a flashlight at the edge of the card. Look at the space between the heatsink and the GPU from the opposite side of the flashlight. If it's not making good contact you should see light between the heatsink and GPU. Another thing you can try is take the heatsink off and clean off all the compound. Put a piece of newspaper between the GPU and heatsink with no thermal compound. See if you can pull out the newspaper with no resistance. If you can't it's making contact. Make sure to re-apply thermal compound before using the card.

Book POV not showing all deminsions for some users

I have a book that is suppose to display Scenario, Year, Period & Currency when it is run. However, one user who runs this book only sees Scenario, Year & Period. Her user group is the same as many others within our company who do not have this problem. Does anyone know why this is happening?

The user only belongs to one group and other users within the group get the full POV selections. Also, we don't have any nested security groups.
This issue has also presented itself in showing the incorrect POV to some users. I've discovered that this is related to the User's POV in User Preferences though I do not know how to fix it.
If you go into File>Preferences and select Financial Reporting on the left you should see a button that says "Setup Members". Once inside, Person A sees Scenario, Year, Period, View, Entity, Value, Account, ICP, C1, C2, C3, C4, this is correct. However, Person B sees Scenario, Year, Period, View, Entity, Value, Account, ICP, C4, C1, C2, C3. When this occurs, and these two run the same book, Person A would see the Proper selections for POV. However, person B would see the incorrect custom dimensions. For example, If C1 should be displayed Person B would see C4, If C2 should be displayed Person B would see C1, etc...
Correct Incorrect
C1 = C4
C2 = C1
C3 = C2
C4 = C3

CALLING all eyetv 2.4 users

I currently have a support ticket raised with elgato because my G4 mini won't wake from sleep to record a programme using eyetv 2.4 it will with eyetv 2.3.3 but not 2.4.
I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problems....

after many ours of debugging and fault finding I now seem to have an eyetv2.4 working session.
It involved cleaning out all eyetv files and settings and making sure that the PMU was reset in my G4 mini before I could get it to wake from sleep by the eyetv software.

Accessing xml forms for anonymous user

Hi all,
Is it possible in any way to use the "news" made with XML-Forms on an External Facing Portal?
I have created one page in XML form builder and assigned that page for anonymous user. Initially that page is visible to anonymous user. If i click any rendered list item it's asking Authentication-Information. Isn't it possible to let them read the News without authentification?
i have set all permissionsm for anonymous users?
How can i solve that problem.

Hi,
this is possible. Please have a look at note 837898 first. But this note doesn't solve it completly.
By default the xmlformpreview-servlet which is used to display the news is not accessible for anonymous users. Try this:
- Create an iview in the pcd (any locaation) from par com.sap.km.cm.par and component xmlformpreview
- set the authentication scheme to anonymous
- give anonymous users permissions in the permission configuration of the iView
- open the iView in Preview Mode and copy the url of the iview from /irj on (something like /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fxmlformpreview)
- Go to System Administration --> System Configuration --> Knowledge Management --> Content Mangagement --> Global Services (switch to advanced mode here) --> URL Generator service: set the iView-URL as the value of the "Preview Servlet" --> save
- test it

Migrate all variant of old user id to new user id

I am working on Single sign on project. I need to change all user id to match with a network id. That is no problem. However, I need to be able to bring along all variant for old user id to the new id. Do you know is there a Bapi or a way to do that? I know I can have user login as old id and create a copy of the variant but that will be a lot of work for user and they may complain. I donu2019t want users to do anything except change their id. All the process should be invisible to users.
Is there a way to do this? If so, please let me know.

ALV grid Refresh problem for one user

Have an ALV with editable columns. Validation and save works for all columns for one user but not for the other. The user with the issue is able to modify the values and save to the database fine.The problem is it doesn't display in the ALV once refreshed. Please suggest any ideas of how to look into this issue as it works for one and not other user.

Strange work for one user not for other.
Once you save the data, rebind the data to table. so that new data will display. ( that use set_initial_elements as true, so that old values not display ).

SimpleSearch can only retrieve documents(reports) for enterprise users!!

i'm using SimpleSearch to retrieve all reports for specific users, the problem is that i'm only able to retirve reports for enterprise users and i can not get reports for domain users, anybody knows why?? or there is another way to do so??
GetDocumentList is working fine but it's only retirves reports for the loged in user only....
also i would like to extacrt all useres which has permession to reports, so would you please give me a hand of help and send me how to do!!!

Which version are you using?
BICatalog is pretty limited, and has been deprecated for more recent versions.

Uncertain behaviour in calendar service for moved users

Hi freinds,
I transferred users from old version 6.2 to new version 7u3 using ldap export-import. All users are capable of accessing thier mail interface through convergence.
Those users were not configured for calendar service in the previous msg instance and calendar service was not installed. Then I added new service pkg (earth) with calendar server facility to a one of transferred domain and then add this service pkg to a user in this domain. Although service pkg assignment get success there is an uncertain behaviour of setting attributes for each user.
For some users following two attributes ( Viewable through new DA )are set properly while for others it is not set at all. For "test01" user convergence does not show the calendar interface properly after pressing the "calendar" button. But for user "test04" the calendar interface is shown with all featuers.

Since I am doing a test for confirming possibility of getting calendar service enabled for old users

A. This is a test for a large scale user migration from old msg server 6.2 (2005Q1)/ DS 5.2 to new commsuite ver 7u3
The old system used Delegated administrator integrated in to AM 6 2005Q1. The new delegated administartor is ver 7.
( Direct LDAP connection is configured with out AM installed)
Q. How were the "old" users provisioned -- which tool?
A. Some users belongs to virtual domains were added through DA. Other users were added directly to LDAP using a customised
tool.
Q.Were the test01 and test04 accounts both from the "old" environment?
A. Yes they both were created using old version DA. When do a ldap search both have same kind of attributes in the old system.
Q. Does an account exist for the test01 user in the calendar database e.g.
A. Yes. For both test01 and test04 accounts exist and they are enabled

Note : pls look at the attributes I marked as A and B. I observed they added in to the user entry after the user
logged in to convergence interface and click on the "calendar" button.For test04 these attributes were added. But
for test01 it was not!

A. In the entries I impored from the old version there are some attributes that are not defined in the new DS ver 6.3.
I did a diff check between a new user entry created in the new system and a user entry imported from the old system.
My aim is to find exact attributes needed per a user entry to make calendar service/IM service up and then add these
attributes to each user imported from old system using an automated script.I think I do not need to rectify above problem
at the DA level. After I found the list of necessary LDAP attributes for the task I can add them manually to one of
old user entry and test it. Is that a recommended way of doing it?
