Calling BSP in a Role -

Hi Experts,
We are in the process of intergration SAP SRM 5.0 and SAP GTS systems. We would like to call a custom BSP page in GTS system via role a custom role defined in SRM system. Also while calling we would like to pass end users userid as the parameter to GTS system BSP page to process further processing the information and do a look up.
Can you please help me out how to call the BSP pages across the systems and also what paramter id to use to pass the userid parameter to GTS system.
We are very close to go-live and please help me out to find a solution.

Hi Franklin,
Vijay has stated that the BSP itself is called with a hardwired system user in the ICF (Internet Communication Framework -> transaction SICF).
In the BSP, some user specific data is to be displayed or updated or whatever (otherwise the user context wouldn't matter, right?)
So... he wants to pass the Portal user ID name (or an alias for it) to the backend system as a remotely exposed import parameter of the URL, which will then execute it user dependently.
The consequence is.... I could call myself Franklin and you could call yourself Julius, and Martin could call himself Darth Vader if he wanted to.... The BSP would not know the difference if called from the portal (or elsewhere?)
You could try to have very tight control on the portal side but it is still a bad design in my books to expose such import parameters such as user names, or the famous "auth_check = ' ' ".
In ABAP it is also possible to use the AUTHORITY-CHECK ... FOR USER ... construct which is similar but local. If the external caller can specify the user ID against whom the check should be perform, they can do anything which the program permits with any authorizations they happen to know the corresponding user ID for.
Not a good idea...
---> hence it depends on what this BSP does. Any coding error in it could easily lead to a further escalation of privildges.

Hi Sachin,
the easiest way is to call the BSP as a "catalog"
Just publish your BSP, then you may find under tab properties the copmplete URL for your BSP Application.
Then just define a catalog in spro
"Enterprise Buyer->Master Data->Define Catalogs"
where you define a "catalog" with the URL under catalog application call structure.
Result:
You should find an entry under your tab caltalogs with the description from your entry made in the customizing.

Calling BSP Iview from a BSP Iview

How to call another BSP Iview from a BSP Iview ?
Is it the same like we call BSP Iview from a Controller ?
My problem is ..Intially i had only one Iview called from the controller. It was working fine.
I've added some includes in the View and while activating, i got the error msg
+Internal error Occured during runtime generation of the class CLOLkshdksjhfk ....+_
+(Dump id : GENBRANCHOFFSET_LIMIT_REACHED)+_
I found from the forum that, instead of calling all things in a single Iview, we can split that into different Iviews.I did the same. and the error had gone.
My Q is ...
I Have built code for tray (maximize and minimize). It works fine if the controller has One Iview and its not working if the controller has 3 iviews.
How to sort it ? If i call the other 2 Iview s from the parent one, will the prob solved ?

Calling BSP Application from Business Object?

Hi,
Can any one tried to call BSP Application from Business Object for showing in the Portal.
I have the following Scenario:
1. BSP Page: User will input the Date and Submit to store in the Database. and in this page the Workflow will be truggered and a Work item will be sent to the Next Level User.
2. When he executes the Work Item it has to trigger the BSP Application and has to show in the Enterprise Portal.
All this has to happen in the Enterprise Portal.
If any one knows how to triggere from business object, please let me know.

Now the similar requirement i need to develope in R/3.
I checked the mentioned class in R/3 4.7, This class is not available. I hope this is only in CRM because of PC-UI.
Any Suggesions how can i achieve this execution of BSP.
In one of the document i saw the Business Object BUS1006 as an example but i could not locate the way to reutilize the similar way.

Calling BSP from abap program by interfacing EP

Dear Friends...
I am cslling a BSP... from an ABAP program... for that I have used this class and also a function module to ckeck.. actually from the abap program it invoks the BSP page very nicely and as my logic for invoking the BSP is a part of the Business Object and it is associated with the Enterprise portal so... when i reach the ep and trigger that business object to instantiate the BSP page from my calling logic of abap... it goes to the ITS and port 80 or something and didnt produce the BSP.. and only the blank screen was there...kindly help me how i am supposed to instantiate the BSP from properly from ABAP by interfacing the EP... my code is given below...

For this to work you have to enable SSO on your server.
you can check if it is enabled or not by runnning the BSP application "SYSTEM" ,page "SSO2TEST.htm" .
Follow the instructions on the page for testing.
This may not be a great way as your userid password are passed via URL,still it works

Wrong ICF path used for BSP link in role

Hi,
I've added a BSP to the menu of a role.
When I start the BSP from the role menu in PFCG it starts the BSP as supposed.
If I go to the browser and look at the Web template with the role menu, I see my BSP link has a wrong ICF path:
http://server.web.bc:8000/sap/bw/BSP_APP/default.htm
but the BSP_APP is under:
sap/bc/bsp/sap/BSP_APP
Is there somewhere a default setting that sets the ICF path to: sap/bw for Web application templates?

Nothing much happening on this topic...
In the mean time I found out there is a table HTTPURLLOC which allows an exception setting.
I added the entry:
040 010 HTTP /BSP/SAP/* SAPBWBIP.WEB.BC 8000
but this doesn't appear to change things.
Still don't know why it is using '/sap/bw' as default prefix and not '/sap/bc/bsp/sap'.
If I launch the menu item from PFCG, it goes well.
From within the webtemplate on the role menu it doesn't work.
Very frustrating...
Anyone who can shed some light on this?

Hi,
To call BSPs inside Enterprise Portal (EP), you need to create BSP iview (portal content developement). There is a iview template provided with EP for this purpose, where you will set the following properties
system= <which R/3 system to connect to>
BSP application = <your BSP application name>
start page = <startpage for your BSP application>
and for the BSP to work in the system definition WAS setting should be done. And for SSO to work (provide all configuration are made from portal and R/3 system) you need to use fully qualified domain.

when i was trying to call bsp from ICH..it shows..loading..but not coming anything...
One of the possible reasons could be that at the back end ABAP is trying to compile. Go to that particular BSP application and activate it manually and then try it in portal.
 maintained correct path for WAS. do i need to activate anything in BSP side?

BSP definition type
BSP application...
if this is the first time you are going to run BSP application there are certain nodes in SICF tree should be activated. Check out OSS Note# 517484 for info on this.
BSP definition type => BSP Application (if you have aliases defined and want to use it then you should use BSP alias)
BSP application => your BSP applicatio name
Start page => start page of your BSP application (default.htm)
System => the back end system alias to which this BSP should connect to (e.g DEV001)

I see it! I'm running ECC 6.0.
PFCG->Menu->Other->BSP Application (3rd Selection) from the top.
Click on the search on the "Other" menu and search for BSP if you are having problems seeing it.

How to call BSP based iview using Parameters

 i developed one BSP application which takes 2 input parameters 1. Document No 2. Item No.
 I created a iView based on this BSP Application. I would like to call this iView by hardcoding input parameters.
 Input: Document No, Item and Submit button. output displays some text based on input. which is working fine, No issues.
Now, i developed a iViews using these BSP application. If i call iViews, again no Issues. Which works great, we need to enter input manally.
I would like to call my iViews with document no = '0004000000' , Item No = '000001' and Submit = 'SET'. Which directly should display the data for above document item.
that means iView URL + Document = '0000400000' & Item = '000001' & submit = 'SET'.
