Calling HR infotype operation in a webdynpro ABAP application

Hi,
is it possible to call hr_infotype_operation on an infotype which has custom control to update the infotype.
Because i have observed that all the 9 series infotypes which have custom control in them are giving short dump when hr_infotype_operation is used on them.

for this i need to pass infotype as exporting parameter.
but i am not able to use INFOTYPES statement to declare
the infotype in the view method .
how can i use the FM now in my webdynpro application

Well, I think you can go for Portal Navigation concept.
Please check the required source code in WDR_TEST_PORTAL_NAV Web Dynpro component. That will illustrate both Page based Navigation and Object based Navigation.

I have to add two numbers using RFC in webdynpro abap application. If we give the numbers in the input screen then the RFC should add it and give it in the output screen. This is the application for that I have created the RFC.
But the problem is i don't know how to call the RFC in that Webdynpro abap application and how to link the input view and output view with that RFC...? I am new to Webdynpro abap. Please kindly help me on this... I am struggled here... I need your help in this....

Above it, the examples of SWDP will not work if you test them from SE80-ABAP WAS...I suggest you to create a WDA IView in Portal and test it in Portal itself.

FPM Navigation - asking for Log on when calling WebDynpro ABAP Application

I want to call a Non FPM based WebDynpro ABAP Application from a FPM Component.
I have followed the method showed in the following thread by Rajkumar to call WebDynpro Application using URL.

I could successfully call my WebDynpro ABAP application using this approach,
However when the application opens in new Browser , it asks for log on again.
Can anyone help me to avoid this log in screen.
P.S. --> Both the applications are in the same server.

I'm facing the same issue with the POWL only if called from a part of the network outside our country (Italy) so I think it would be a network configuration problem as you suppose. Can you explain us the configuration of the balancer and dispatcher to solve the issue?

Popup for transport request in WebDynpro ABAP application

Hi there,
which function module can I use to prompt the user for the transport request in an WebDynpro ABAP application.
In SAPGUI I found 'TR_ORDER_CHOICE_CORRECTION' to do this but I get a short dump when I call this one from a WebDynpro ABAP application ...

The reason I get the short dump is the function modules I found call a dynpro screen inside for prompting for the request. I am not surprised this does not work for WebDynpro applications ....
So I thought there is a generic function module for WebDynpro applications available or a WebDynpro component I can use for this ... Sure I could build it by myself but this does not seem to be the right way for me since this requirement seems to be of a generic nature.
@Gaurav: I am interested to bring up a generic popup for prompting for the request. So I cannot use the flags to suppress the screen ...

Issue on Creating RFx in webdynpro ABAP application - SRM Business Package

We are in to SRM 7.0 with the same version of Business Package in SAP Portal also.
I am trying to create a RFx from Portal which in turn calls the webdynpro ABAP application (Strategic Purchasing->Strategic Sourcing->Create Documents->RFx)
sap/bc/webdynpro/sapsrm/wda_l_fpm_oif.
This Application has some button called "Tech RFx", "Permissions" etc., When I click on those buttons it throws the error as below :
"There is no iView available for system "SAP_SRM": object "TechResp". For more information, contact your administrator."
Please let me know where we are missing. I have checked all the Portal permissions. Even I can able to access all other iviews except this two buttons.
Any settings or parameters required on webdynpro ABAP side.

this behavior occurs if the IView com.sap.pct.srm.gp.iv_tech_resp
is not assigned to the role which is assigned to the user.
Please assign this IView to the desired user.
Here are the steps to follow in your systems:
STEP 1: Login to the Portal with Content Admin Authorization.
STEP 2: Navigate to Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP ->
specialist -> SRM7.0 -> Core -> Roles -> Open the desired role and
choose Navigation Folder.
STEP 3: Now navigate to Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP ->
specialist -> SRM7.0 -> PPS -> iViews -> Tendering -> Select Tech
Responses (Technical name is iView com.sap.pct.srm.gp.iv_tech_resp) and
right click and choose 'Add iView to Role' -> Delta Link and save.
STEP 4: Log off and login with the user and check the issue.

WebDynpro ABAP application opening blank in portal

Dear All,
There is a strange issue which is being faced by one user. when the user tries to access a Webdynpro ABAP application in Portal then it opens in new window but nothing is displayed in the tray. Now when the user right clicks on the opened window->properties and copies the url from properties and pastes it in new tab (IE 8 is used) then the application opens and works fine.
The portal and backend roles are fine for the user as he can access/work when the application is opened using the copied url.
Please suggest what could be the problem for the user. For other users the issue mentioned is not there.

Webdynpro abap application attached to SWFVISU is tested from se80

when webdynpro ABAP application is attached to workitem in SWFVISU the the workitem id is passed via url when calling the application. (though the url seen in the application in se80 in the webdynrpo abap component does not have workitem id paramter)

I am running this application from se80 - application - right click - test. (this is required to troubleshoot one of the issues.)
at this time it does not ask for workitem id and directly runs the application . It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id. the status of this workitem is complete in the system.

It is required to have a parameter WI_ID (as an Application parameter) in your WDA. And via this Application parameter WDA will receive the workitem id, when the task is exceuted from UWL (provided configuration is done in swfvisu)
Could you confirm, there is no Application parameter (WI_ID) in your WDA?
It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id
If you defined WI_ID in Application parameter and there is an option to provide value and it seems, you have defined some value over there or other way might be in your method (inbound plug), you may gave default value to WI_ID in the parameter
If your application is working properly from UWL and for testing purpose, you could put a breakpoint and change the workitem id, when executing from se80

[HELP] Webdynpro Abap application keeps refreshing on Portal

Hello Gurus,
Im facing a really annoying and weird problem, i've created a screen exit on the transaction IW21, on this screen i have a custom container, and im using the class cl_gui_html_viewer to show off a webdynpro abap application on this container. If i access IW21 via SAP GUI everything works fine, no problema at all. But once we've published this transaction IW21 on Portal something very weird happened, the webdynpro application keeps refreshing on every action done in the screen. I've entered on debug mode to verify if the program is performing the code to create the html object again, but the program pass in the perform only once. An example: when i click in save the program pops a screen to choose some characteristics and i can clearly see the webdynpro application refreshing under this screen, like if i press F5 on browser. As i said everything goes pretty much fine in SAP GUI, but in Portal keeps refreshing.
Anyone have any idea how can i solve this?

Getting Pernr for WebDynpro ABAP application

I am building a new WebDynpro ABAP application and I want to be able to get the PERNR for the user logged into the portal and this application.
I have read some information on this forum about getting the URL or application parameters in order to get the userid or similiar parameters and to handle this within the Window in the HANDLEDEFAULT method of a WebDynpro ABAP application.
I have looked into this and I don't think pulling information from the application parameters will work. For example, I checked one of our current services for "Personal Data" and when I go to the portal content administration, application parameters, I don't see any reference to userid..etc. I see Property ID, Property Category, Inheritance, End-User Personalization, and Property Description. In addition, I do not see any information from the URL itself that I could use.
Here is the scenario. The user logs into the portal using the 3 character Network id which in turn, I assume, gets their SAP userid and PERNR in order to retrieve all the HR infotype information for each service. By the way, the service I mentioned above, "Personal Data", is written in JAVA, so I am not able to see how this particular service works or handles getting the userid and PERNR.
Has anyone come across this scenario before and how was it handled in terms of getting the userid and PERNR?

I was thinking that SY-UNAME would be available, but was not sure. For some reason, I was thinking I was going to have to pass something from the applicaton parameters or some other method to my WebDynpro ABAP program..
I am not the portal administrator so I have not yet added my WebDynpro ABAP program to the portal yet. Once, it's added, I will check out the availablility of sy-uname.

I am developer and my user ID is having developer roles, so when i am testing
'WebDynpro ABAP Application scenarios' it is working fine.
Problem is when I am executing with enduser portal WWID's (i.e. WWID's are also defined as sap

Pls guide me what roles or authorization we need to assign to user ID's
