Calling iPhone number Facetime

Question

How do I call an iphone using facetime on ipad. In iOS 6, there was an option to click on a specific e-mail id or phone number. But now in iOS 7 there is only one video call button. How do I know which e-mail id or phone number it is calling. I want to make the call to the phone.

I understand you are using FaceTime from your iPad to call an iPhone. The iPad contacts other iOS devices (iPhone, iPod touch, or other iPads) by using the email address designated for FaceTime for the person you are calling, not their phone number. That email address is attached to their name in your Contacts and can be edited there. The following article has some great information about FaceTime.

What information do I need to call someone using FaceTime?
To call someone using FaceTime, you need their phone number or email address. Which one you use is determined by the device you are calling:
When calling someone using an iPhone: Try the phone number of the person you are calling first. If the person has registered an email with FaceTime, you can use that as well.
When calling someone using an iPad, iPod touch: Use the email address designated for FaceTime of the person you are calling.
On iPad and iPod touch, you need to add a person as a contact using the FaceTime or Contacts app before you can call them.
