Calling Party Number empty when the call gets to Route List
Caller id is not showing up on 911 calls. Using Dialed Number Analyser I can see the calling Party Number fine through the route pattern. Then in the Route List it comes up empty. Nothing in the config of the Route List is restricting or manipulating the calling number. Use calling party's external phone number mask is set to on. We are using Standard Local Route Groups.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Do you see the caller ID on the GW in debugs?
What type of circuit is used for this call? If PRI can you provide "debug isdn q931"?

Question about the sensor... just got my 4s yesterday after screwing up my 3 with the laterd version update. EVery call I have been on has either changed to speaker, called another number or ended the call or activated facetime, which I have turned off. never had this trouble with my 3...I don't even want to talk to anyone on this phone! Is the sensor bad? That is what the AT&t rep suggested.
Restore as new... if the problem still continues then there is a hardware issue.
If it stops after a restore as new, then the issue is with the backup the device is currently setup with. -
CVP call server logs
Hi All,
I am trying to figure out whether caller party(End User) hangup the call first or UCCE Agent.
Attaching CVP call server Logs& UCCE TCD& Route Call Details for your reference. From the CVP logs, it can be determined which side disconnected the call first. For each call, CVP keeps track each call leg. From Inbound Gateway to CVP is INBOUND leg, rest are OUTBOUND leg. You can then look at which leg the SIP BYE message is received first.
Since you have very basic log enabled, you will not see the exact SIP message. But it can be determined by the outcome of the message. Here is the snippet of the log during the disconnect:
Line 3766: 3083689: 10.180.245.43: Sep 12 2014 12:21:11.293 -0700: %CVP_8_5_SIP-7-CALL: {Thrd=DIALOG_CALLBACK.6} CALLGUID = CBCCDD8539E811E4A3E2CCEF48565980 LEGID = CC65CE04-39E811E4-87DFD7D1-64B198F2 - [INBOUND] DURATION (msecs) = 25610 - DIALOG TERMINATED. Reason: Q.850;cause=16
Line 3768: 3083690: 10.180.245.43: Sep 12 2014 12:21:11.293 -0700: %CVP_8_5_SIP-7-CALL: {Thrd=DIALOG_CALLBACK.6} Sending BUS MSG:>>HEADERS: (JMSType)=MsgBus:CALL_STATE_EVENT (JMSDestination)=Topic(CVP.SIP.CC.EVENT) (JMSTimestamp)=1410549671293 >>BODY: callguid=CBCCDD8539E811E4A3E2CCEF48565980 RouterCallKey=6472 RouterCallKeySent=true causecode=1 timezone=America/Los_Angeles RouterCallKeySequenceNumber=0 version=CVP_8_5 labeltype=1 RouterCallKeyDay=151099 calldate=Fri Sep 12 12:21:11 PDT 2014 label=190376 localOffset=-420 eventid=6 calllegid=CC65CE04-39E811E4-87DFD7D1-64B198F2 >>STATE: isTabular=false isWriteable=true cursor=-1
The first Termination message came on the INBOUND leg which is the PSTN. That means, PSTN side disconnected the call first.
Hope this helps.

Prevent called party number changes on outgoing call to PSTN
Hello Folks,
we have CUCM 9.1 with SIP trunks to cisco 2951 connected to the PSTN either by BRI or PRI module.
we have implemented internal full e.164 (including +) dialplan
when we do an outgoing call (via SIP trunk and 2951) the phones first shows the full e.164 number i.e. +4970366431002. As soon as the call goes out to the PSTN, the display changes to the number format in which the 2951 sends the call to the ISDN.
Because in ISDN there is no +, the gateway translates the called number to (in this example) 70366431002 TON national. and sends this back to CUCM in the Session progress Remote-Party-ID value (see output from debug on the 2951 below)
how can we prevend that the phone is showing this number instead of the original number?
thanks a lot - mat

you can discard the 9 in the route pattern and add prefix 9 in the route list level.

Problem transferring calls between Voip phones when the call is originated
Hi,
I have configured a gateway h323 (3640- 12.3) to communicate with Cisco Callmanager 3.3(4).
On the H323 gateway I have installed one BRI interface and one FXS interface.
Inside my network I am using VoIP telephones 7910.
Originating calls in the Voip telephones which destination is the PSTN is working fine;
Receiving calls from PSTN that destination is VoIP telephones is OK also;
Redirecting or doing Hold on calls between VoiP telephones works but ..
When redirecting or doing Hold on calls between a VoiP telephone and a call from PSTN I loose the voice stream.
Apparently, all signalling is working fine because when redirecting the call originated in the PSTN from one VoIP telephone to another VoIP telephone, I can see the Calling number ID. Even if I use the telephone keyboard, I can listen the tones, but I have no voice stream.
Please any help will be welcome.
Thanks,
David CostaI have tried different configurations and now it is working. The problem is that I couldnt identify were the miss configuration was.
Another question is: Can I use a codec with compression between voip interface of h323 gateway and the Callmanager or Voip phones to pass music on hold?
Now I only pass music on hold if I configure G.711 on the voip interface of h323 gateway.
Thanks,
David Costa -
Called Party Number when Forwarded Issue
We have upgraded to 7.1 and our users have alerted us to something interesting and annoying.
It appears that the Called Number/Name is retained on the Calling Party phone even when the Called Number is;
Picked Up within a Pickup Group
Forwards on Busy/No Reply
Is Transferred to another phone
This is causing confusion for our users who are used to seeing the called number/name change when it is directed to another phone.
I am thinking that this could be a bug in CUCM 7.1, I have had a search for any parameter that is new as this was the default behaviour with our previous versions 5.1, 6.0, 6.1 and 7.0.
I have rebooted our Publisher and 2 x Subscribers as a basic measure to see if this restores the logic but the issue still persists.
Has anyone else encountered this on their CUCM?
Regards KimI found the answer;
Service Parameters => Publisher => Cisco CallManager
Clusterwide Parameters (Device - General)
Always Display Original Dialed Number Required Field*
This was a parameter I have never had to alter in previous versions of CUCM and may be new, I am not sure, setting this to False solves the issue.

I keep getting calls from (removed), so I added that number to my list of calls to block. It doesn't ring anymore, but I keep getting notification messages that say "Call back (removed)". Why do I receive this when the call should be blocked?
Private info removed as required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service
Message was edited by: Admin ModeratorOkay, you are correct the call is not supposed to ring in. Have you done any troubleshooting on the phone? First off, try power cycling the phone. Turn the phone off, then back on again. If that does not work, then try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. See if that changes things. Is the caller using the exact number that you blocked, or is it possible they are using another number, or have restricted the Caller ID?

Why do I get error -17500 when calling a batch file using the call executable step type?
I am calling a batch file using the call executable step type. If the path to the batch file contains a space I get error -17500 and a message stating there was an error in "Post". For example the path to the batch file is "c:\TestWin\Test Files\...\Program.bat" When I run this I get the above mentioned error, however if I change my directory structure so the path is now "c:\TestWin\TestFiles\...\Program.bat" it runs fine. I use the browse feature to find my batch file so it is not me typing in a path incorrectly. I have removed the batch file and I get a different error stating that it couldn't find the file so it appears that for my error it can find the file but can't run it. I am
sure that this has something to do with the fact that batch files are written in DOS but really don't want to resort to changing my directory structure on all my test stations. Is there any way to fix this problem so I can leave a space in my path?It appears I have figured it out. This was on another computer so I was unaware of how they used their computer. I like you got it to work in the temp directory and in fact got the program.bat file to work as long as I put it under the temp directory, but when I switched out to my TestWin directory it wouldn't work, so I removed everything from the directory except the batch file it self and it work. What I found out after adding files in one at a time is that the person had a file called "Test" with no file extension in there "c:\TestWin\" directory. Removing this file made it work. Putting the file back broke it. So it appeares that when teststand was running it followed the path saw a space and attempted to grab the "Test" file instead of bro
wsing into the "Test Files" directory. If you create a file in your temp directory called "temp" with no file extension you will see the same problem. Thank you for your help. -
Redirect Calls Based on Calling Party Number
Hi All,
I am looking for a method to redirect inbound PSTN calls based on the calling party number. I can do this in CUCM 9 or IOS. I find plenty of documentation out there on blocking calls by calling party number but nothing on redirecting.
My situation is this. We are a large company and often get request from users to block calls from annoying or harassing numbers. Rather than block them I would like to drive them into a mailbox where the caller can attempt to find a resolution if they feel the calls was blocked in error.
Has anyone else attempted something like this?
ThanksHi Jerold,
If you are using CUCM 8.x and above, you can re-direct the call on the basis of the calling party number.
The configuration is very similar to block a call that uses the new feature added in CUCM 8.x and above (
Route Next Hop By Calling Party Number). The step 8 in the following document explains how to handle the call when the call has be routed by the calling party number. The translation pattern is configure with Route Option as "Block this pattern".
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-18367
In order to re-direct the call, you can configure the Route Option with "Route this pattern" and specify the desired destination pattern under "Called party Transformation Mask". Also, make sure to add the appropriate CSS to be able to route the call.

Updated my iphone with iOS7.0.3, still dont have the option to reject the call or reject the call with a message when someone call and the phone is in the lock screen? I was of the impression that this issue will be fixed with updates. Please see the screenshot.
Hello Beardsell,
This is when the phone is unlocked mode. My snapshot is when the phone is locked.
Remember when you get a call when the phone is locked and you used to have slide to answer in iOS 6 and if you slide up you would have options to reject, reject with a message and reject with a reminder. We dont have that in iOS 7. iOS 7 *****, I cannot get back to iOS6, apple needs to be user friendly. Screen shot 1 when the phone is locked, screenshot 2 when the phone is unlocked. -
IPhone 5 iOS 7.1.4 Call failed every time when the other person hung up before me
iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.4 says Call failed every time when the other person hung up before me,
Is there anything I can do to about that please?Hey there Yonidawit,
It sounds like you are are getting a message saying that the call failed, when the person you are talking to hangs up. I have a few things to recommend here. First close all the open apps:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone and test it out again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that does not resolve it, try resetting your network settings:
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings
From: iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

My iPhone won't ring when the caller is "Unknown". How do I make it ring?
Do you even see the call come in on the phone? Do you see the missed call in your list? Or do you just get a voice mail.
If it never even shows up in your missed calls list, contact your carrier. Perhaps you have anonymous call blocking on your account. (I wish I did...) -
Called party cannot hear when iphone 4 in speaker mode. Have cleaned earbud contact but think this is sw problem and would like to reload os 5.1.1. Not sure how to do this as all attempts result in "software is up to date" message.

ATA bus error means that data corruption occurred during transmission over ATA bus (SATA or PATA). This type of errors can be indicated by

On some controllers, command timeout. In this case, there may be a mechanism to determine that the timeout is due to transmission error.
Unknown/random errors, timeouts and all sorts of weirdities.
As described above, transmission errors can cause wide variety of symptoms ranging from device ICRC error to random device lockup, and, for many cases, there is no way to tell if an error condition is due to transmission error or not; therefore, it's necessary to employ some kind of heuristic when dealing with errors and timeouts. For example, encountering repetitive ABRT errors for known supported command is likely to indicate ATA bus error.
Once it's determined that ATA bus errors have possibly occurred, lowering ATA bus transmission speed is one of actions which may alleviate the problem.
I'd also add; make sure you have good backups when ATA errors are frequent -
Why when u call apple support they record the call ?
why when u call apple support they record the call ?
For training and evaluation. Managers will go back and listen to the calls to evaluate the agent's responses and answers to ensure they are doing a good job and provide corrective training to improve their skills. They may also use selected calls to play them for agents-in-training to provide examples of what to do and what not to do. See where training may be lacking, if they hear multiple agents making the same mistakes.
Hard to say they record EVERY call, they get a lot of calls every day. That is probably a general notice in case your call is one that is recorded. Personally, I think Apple's recording pretty much a non-issue. -
