Calling queries made in WAD & Portal

Hello Experts,
I haven't seen how end user open WAD & Portal reports. I know how developers create WAD reports and give URL to portal guyz. I don't have any idea how these reports are called by endusers.
Further please let me know WAD
1. Save
2. Import Export from file
3. Upload Download from server
4. Publish in a role, in portal and broadcaster

Hi Suneth,
After creating reports using WAD, you need to put the web template in the portal.
1. Usually, you need to create iView and put the web template name as the parameter. eg. TEMPLATE_ID=<web template name>.
2. Then add this iView into a workset or folder.
3. Create a role in the portal and assign this workset and folder into the role.
4. Add users into this roles.
5. When end user open the portal, they can see the list of reports (only reports which assigned to them).
To do all these, you need to have administrator role in Enteprise Portal. Hope this helps.

Alternatives to WAD for displaying BI Queries / Views in Enterprise Portal

Hello experts,
we have been using WAD 3.5 extensively for displaying BI Querys in a web-capable form within our Enterprise Portal.
Since our users are not BW-familiar in general, we have the requirement to provide a very easy GUI and navigation.
Actually in 3.5 we are able to fulfill this requirement by extensive use of Javascript to modify the look & feel and also the behaviour of the Web applications.
In WAD 7.0 this is not any longer possible, as SAP restricted the Javascript usage, in 7.0 it is impossible to change the HTML code by accessing the DOM, which is very uncomfortable for us, since our users are familiar with the our (javascript-driven)convenient BI Web interfaces.
My question now: are there any alternatives for displaying BI content (queries / views) in the portal apart from using WAD web templates?
I read that the Visual Composer is now capable of processing BI content. Does anyone have experiences with this? And if yes, how does this compare to the WAD?
I also read that there is a BI Java SDK which contains an API to the OLAP processor. Is the BI Java SDK an alternative to WAD? And if yes, is it possible to integrate Java SDK with Web Dynpro or is it plain Java requiring the usage of Servlets / JSP to render the UI?

BI SDK is a Java library without UI support. Think adout it as a JDBC-type API with multidimentional data support. It's the way to go if you need to get to the data itself but it is not appropriate if you want low-effort reporting solution.

CALL WEBI Report from SAP Portal

You can call SAP portal from WebI Report...
insert blank cell in the report / or select the cell whaere do you want to in the report
and then Right click and select hyper link.
Enter the portal address
It will be opened in the same or new window based on your settings.
Target Window : New Window ..then it will open new window.

JDBC issue while calling queries in oracle- urgent

Hi !
Theres a peculiar problem being faced while calling queries(SQL statements having join of more than 2 tables) in oracle database. We are using JDBC thin driver.
We are calling SQL statements from stateless session EJBs deployed in weblogic app server and using connection pool facility to connect to oracle database.
Now, the issue is that select queries having more then 2 tables run fine & give proper result in java but when we see trace in oracle by setting sql_trace to true.. we see some column rowid added as first column selected in such queries and oracle shows such queries to be failed.
Can anyone tell why & how & who adds this rowid ?
Has anyone faces such a problem ?

Am I right in you saying that the data is returned to the app server, but the database is saying it's not???

Can anyone tell why & how & who adds this rowid?...and that you're sure you're not adding this yourself in the join?
...since (you imply) you're not using entities, just sql queries against the datasource connection, did you try running that query direct against the database?

Can i call a Workbook trought the portal?

i have to call a workbook trought the portal, when i put the workbook en in the Rol, this just can be seen from the Browser. but im the portal doesnt appear, now my task is put these reports (workbooks) that the users can execute them trought the portal, how can i do this? help

BI Administration Cockpit - Queries not shown in portal

Hi,
Has anyone experienced the following problem:
- The BI Admin. Cockpit has been installed according to instructions without errors
- The technical content as well as the process chains are working and data is being collected from the objects pointed in RSDDSTAT
- The Business Pacakge "BI Administration 1.0" has been installed.
- Both roles (BI Admin. & System Admin.) have been assigned in portal and BI Admin -role has been assigned to user in SSM.
- The BI Admin. tab page is visible in portal and all of the IViews and pages are available in the portal content.
- If the queries or the templates are executed from BEx or WAD they are populated with data and everything is working as it should be.
- Even when executing the IViews or pages (f.ex. No. of BI Application Executions per User) in PREVIEW -mode from Portal Content Studio the reports are shown correctly.
HOWEVER: If one navigates to BI-Admin tab --> BI Usage Statistics --> BI Application Usage Statistics -report, both of the expected reports are just missing. The only things that are shown are the templates (tab strip and buttons) but the queries are missing.
There are no error messages etc. Please advice how to proceed with further investigations?

My questions:
1.) Sorry, but what means "SSM"?
2.) As I red in the help, it's not needed to assign the BI-Admin to the role "System Admin" when you assign the role SAP_BW_BI_ADMINISTRATOR to the User and additionally set the feature "Accessability" within the role.
Does it only work with assigning the role "System Admin" as well ?
3.) What does ist means, "to being activate them"? There's no Activation forseen after assigning the roles to the Users. So what do you mean ?

How can i get charged when my device is still suspended and no call is made?

I have to complain that I was charged $106.09 for this month's statement.
But my device (removed) is still suspended, up until this week as far as I know, and I have made no call. How could I get charged for the month until April 9? I am currently not in the US territory.
It must be a mistake to charge me the groundless amount. Please double check.

How to call servlet from jsp in portal applicaton...??

Hii all, i am working on an portal application in which i have added my adf application as portlet..
in this adf application i am having an jsp page on the popup
the action of this jsp page is set to an servlet

</form>
But when i click on submit button, the servlet is not being called..
The servlet is -

Which application server you are using.
I am using JRUN SERVER.
For me it is very easy
I have to put my servlet in web-inf/classes/xx.class.
Then i can run like
http://localhost/xx.

Ive got a problem executing a print job from an RFC which im calling in Java web Dynpro Application in Portal. Im using an Acess Method G: for Front End Printing but Order gets stuck with the Status "Waiting" "Front end unavailable".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think you would be able to do this. Instead, you need to get the content from RFC into WD java and print from the browser.
