Calling Sub Report which is in Different project

Hi All,
Can we Call sub Report which is in different project? If so, How? Can you please help me out.
Thanks
sush

Hi susheel1347,
In Reporting Services, when we call a sub report, in the Subreport Properties, we can only select the report in current project (from the drop down list) as a subreport. If we type a report which is in another project, this report can't be found
and it will return the message like below:
So your requirement can't be achieved currently, we suggest you copy that subreport into current project.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Fix the coulmn width of main report which contain the sub report( remains white space of extra width)

    Hi,
    I am setting the column width of main report and that column is bounded with the sub report which contain some data.
    But if width is exceeded other than sub report data that width is showing as white space block.
    It should be showing as normal header in gray shade.
    Please provide the solution for this. see the screen attached.
    Thanks

    Hi Raj,
    According to your description, you want to show the sub report without any white space in the textbox. Right?
    In Reporting Services, when we display a sub report in a textbox, this textbox will always show the whole sub report area. If the textbox is smaller than the report area, this textbox will extend automatically to fit the size of the sub report. Otherwise,
    it will has white space inside of the textbox. And if you have white space in your sub report, it will also be displayed in the textbox. So you may need to adjust the sub report size to make it fitted in main report.

  • Dynamics CRM usage of CRMAF_ filters in sub reports

    Have a main SSRS report which uses CRM pre filtering via the "CRMAF_" prefix, this report calls a sub report which needs to use the same pre filtering as selected and applied via the main report.
    The sub report is a summary total presenting the information in a different order than the main report but needs to run over the same dataset that the main report did.
    Would like to see a worked example of how this can be achieved ?

    I'm thinking I may just have to go with two seperate reports that both use the same CRMAF pre filtering.
    The advantage of using the automatic pre-filtering is when the report is deployed I assign the related record type and can then run it over 'selected records' from the list screen.
    With the explicit pre-filtering when the report is deployed I can assign the related record type but then it can only be run over 'all records' from the list screen.
    So with explicit pre filtering I loose the ability to run the report over a selected subset of the related records.
    Looks easier to create two seperate reports (rather than a main and a subreport), the user can choose the records to report on from the related list and then just run the two reports after each other.
    Thanks for your help guys.

  • CPI-C calling a report with long report name

    Hi there,
    we are communicating to a SAP System with CPI-C.
    My question:
    How can I call a report with CPI-C which has a name with more than 8 characters?
    (I am using SAP_CMLOGON2 of CPI-C SDK for C++)
    I want to use namespaces and 8 Characters are too short for this.
    Any Ideas?
    Thx,
    Andi

    Hi Scott,
    According to your description, you want to call the report which contains subreports in asp.net.
    Based on my research, when we call the report which contains subreports in asp.net, we should attach a handler to the SubReportProcessing event of the report. For more information, please refer to the similar thread: Running
    Reports SubReports and parameters from Asp.net. Besides, you could also refer to this
    article to render the main report and sub report in ReportViewer control.
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Linking of Main and Sub Reports

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to integrate all the crystal reports (say 10 nos) into one single main report for the statutory purpose as per the client requirement. Basically client would like to view all these ten reports in single file by export them into single PDF. These sub reports are also going to work as an individual reports independently and having their own prompts. The data source for these reports is SAP BEx queries.
    Please let me know best approach for integrating these reports, since user doesnu2019t want to
    pass the values for duplicate prompts. Please note there are common prompts (BEx variables) across these sub reports.
    I have done the PoC for linking single sub report using Xtreme data base and here are my results.
    1.      Create a Blank Main reports and create a Country Prompt.
    2.      Link the sub report with main report using this Country Prompt.
    3.      Link the sub report with main report prompt and edit the sub report selection formula with the main report prompt u2013 u201C{Customer.Country} = {?Pm-?Which Country?}u201D
    4.      While refreshing the report, it will refresh the sub report based on the main report prompt value and shows corresponding data.
    5.      This approach works for single report and gives the expected results and asks only single time prompt selection.
    Challenges On the above approach while implementing using BEx Queries as a data source are:
    u2022      We need to equate the SAP BEx characteristics to this prompt:
    Ex:       = {?Pm-?Which Country?}
    That means we should have set of BEx queries which doesnu2019t have variables. At run time filters will be assign based on the main report crystal reports prompts. Again there could be some mandatory prompts and optional prompts and multi values etc.
    Will it affect the performance of the Crystal report while you apply filters at report level instead of BEx query level?
    u2022      We donu2019t want to modify the individual sub reports selection formulas and queries for linking purpose.
    Please let me know youu2019re best solution approach for the above issue.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Som

    If I understand correctly the main issue a report running as a sub report being run as a main report.
    I have a solution.
    for each of the sub reports build a new main report
    ie if you have
    sub report 1
    sub report 2
    then youhave a master report that calls them
    you would build
    Main report 1 ( which ONLY calls sub report 1)

  • Workflows : Unable to call a report from a Default Method of Business Objec

    Hi,
    Good afternoon.
    Well, we had a requirement where a Business Object's Default method should call a report which in turn calls a User Defined Screen(Call Screen 100 say...) which had a Text Control with one OK button.
    In this requirement, I had created a method with all the above functionality and then tested the BUSINESS OBJECT accordingly. Well, when Testing the BO directly, I am able to get my REQUIREMENT satisfied like the METHOD is working PERFECT as per the requirement.
    Now I made it as an DEFAULT METHOD and used the same BO for a workflow. And that Workflow gets triggered with an Event within that BO. So the instance of this BO is coming to the Workflow.
    Now, I created a new Decision step and copied the standard step's task into a new Standard task. And I included this task for my new DECISION STEP. In this standard task , I had created a CONTAINER Varaible for my BO.And in my WORKFLOW, I had passed the instance of my BO in the BINDING PART of this Decision Step.
    Now, my objects and Attachments part had an HYPERLINK, but it is not executing the needed method. Why is it so?
    Do we had any limitation for this?
    Shouldn't we call any report which calls a user defined screen from a method ?
    Is there any way for solving the above problem?
    Like I want to display a TEXT CONTROL which takes COMMENTS from the Approver during the WORK ITEM PREVIEW before APPROVAL / REJECTION and this INPUT must also be shown in WORK ITEM PREVIEW in the next level.
    Someone please help me.
    Regards,
    Raja Sekhar

    Hi Raja,
    Well it is not yet afternoon for me. In fact the work day just about started
    Have you tried debugging it? Put a break point in your default method and click on the object link from the inbox and see if your method is getting executed and if it is you may find what the problem is.
    Also, have you tried with a different default method like a display method and checked if it works?
    Thanks,
    Ramki Maley.

  • Cross tab sub report with vertical page breaks

    Hi have a report which contains 3 sub reports - different views of similar data. The sub report is wide enough to cover two landscape pages across and they run down over two pages
    The first subreport on page one does expand across into the secon landscape page, but does not repeat the row labels, although the settings in both main & subreport cross tab are to repeat
    The secon & third sub reports which print on the escon vertical page do not expand across to display any data, so I get no page four.
    They all have exactly the same settings.
    Is there any easy way to resolve this?

    hi Julie,
    this is i believe the nature of cross-tabs inside of subreports...horizontal expansion within the subreports is not a supported feature.
    you mentioned that the data is similar but just different views...is the query that each subreport runs off of bringing in the same record set? if so, is it possible to move the cross-tabs into the main report?
    are you using crystal reports 2008? if so, does changing the page setup for the entire report to a huge size and then the pagination for each section to landscape help?

  • Report which contains subreports which contains also subreports

    I have different reports which contain subreports.
    Each report has 2 to 4 pages.
    I need now a so called multiple report which should up to 12 of these reports all shown i the reportviewer.
    Each report should start on a new page.
    I tried tis with subreports which contains also subreports, but this doesn´t work.
    Is it possible to such a report and when how can this be realized?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Raghavendra,
    I´m using version 10.5.3700 which comes with Visual Studio 2008 but I have also Crystal Reports 2008 but not installed yet.
    I need the sections because I have to suppress sections depending on the protocol I use.
    Do you think it is better to place about 100 subreports in one section?
    But how can I then suppress subreports?

  • Crystal Report Viewer - Sub Reports

    Hi Everyone,
                        I'm working with Crystal Reports(V13.0.7) Windows form viewer in VS2012(VB.Net). I have a sub report which is causing problems. I have set the link to the Main report parameter and Sub report. I have a total of 43 parameters getting passed(Main and Sub Reports including). While setting the ReportSource in code, I find that there are 43 parameter fields passed. But i constantly get an error "The parameter is incorrect". An important thing to note is that- Whenever i debug the code, the report gets displayed but it is not so when in release mode. Can anyone help me in this regard. I'm totally frustrated and its been weeks and i haven't solved the issue yet. I have attached the files below (FrmViewer - Used to add and set report source for Main and sub reports) and (Display-AR-REPORT( ) - for passing main report and sub report parameters). The AR.Rpt report

    Hi Sastry,
                   Firstly, thanks for replying to my post. I have checked all the parameters passed, did some changes(Had extra 0's after decimal point), but still no change. The same old Error. As i have mentioned before, Whenever i debug the code, the report gets displayed but it is not so when in release mode. The file (Original Report.png)image is a Perfect report. The report file (MyReport.png)shown below is my report.

  • Calling a report from the application

    Hi,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g…Using Bi-publisher; I want to call a report which should be opened in a new dialog window. The problem is, I don’t know how to call the report directly using "Output Stream" without having to save it physically.
    Could you please give me a complete solution on this?
    Thank you so much in advance.

  • Passing database command parameter to sub-report

    I'm trying to pass a runtime parameter from a main report to a database command parameter in a sub-report, and having some trouble.
    My main report has parameter fields (Vendor, Manufacturer, etc) that the user selects at runtime - the result set includes Item Code - that part is working fine.  Where I'm having trouble is with linking to the sub-report.  My sub-report has a stored command that takes a parameter (ItemCode) and counts the number of times it's shown up on an invoice.  When I created the command, it asked for a value for the parameter, and won't accept a blank entry.  Now, whenever I try to run the main report, it asks for the ItemCode parameter for the sub-report - which kind of defeats the purpose.  I've tried linking from ?Pm-OITM.ItemCode in the main report, but the Subreport Links window doesn't show the Command parameter to link to.
    How do I take a field from the main report and pass it to a sub-report to be used as a parameter in a stored database command?
    I'm running CR 2008, and SAP B1 2007 PL 42 on MS SQL 2005, and I'm still pretty new at CR, so details help.
    Thanks.

    Go to change subreport links and add Item Code from main report and then you can see the sureport stored procedure parameter in the Subreport parameters list, select the parameter and do not select any field from subreport.
    You will be able to see the stored procedure parameter in the list only when the Item Code and the parameter are of same data type.

    hi,
    chk this sample.
    *Code used to populate 'select-options' & execute report
    DATA: seltab type table of rsparams,
          seltab_wa like line of seltab.
      seltab_wa-selname = 'PNPPERNR'.
      seltab_wa-sign    = 'I'.
      seltab_wa-option  = 'EQ'.
    load each personnel number accessed from the structure into
    parameters to be used in the report
      loop at pnppernr.
        seltab_wa-low = pnppernr-low.
        append seltab_wa to seltab.
      endloop.
      SUBMIT zreport with selection-table seltab
                                    via selection-screen.
    *Code used to populate 'parameters' & execute report
    SUBMIT zreport with p_param1 = 'value'
                    with p_param2 = 'value'.
    Other additions for SUBMIT
    *Submit report and return to current program afterwards
    SUBMIT zreport AND RETURN.
    *Submit report via its own selection screen
    SUBMIT zreport VIA SELECTION-SCREEN.
    *Submit report using selection screen variant
    SUBMIT zreport USING SELECTION-SET 'VARIANT1'.
    *Submit report but export resultant list to memory, rather than
    *it being displayed on screen
    SUBMIT zreport EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY.
    Once report has finished and control has returned to calling
    program, use function modules LIST_FROM_MEMORY, WRITE_LIST and
    DISPLAY_LIST to retrieve and display report.

  • How to hide/show main report footer for a sub report ?

    Need to hide main report footer for a sub report(having more than one page and need to hide footer for all those pages).And again make it visible for another sub report which also have more than one page (and do the same to all of its pages)
    I have tried with formula
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Shared BooleanVar SuppressFooter := True;
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Shared BooleanVar SuppressFooter := False;
    with this formula main report footer is shown only on last page of sub report where i need it in all pages.
    Any solution??

    Hi Jinu,
    1) Do some or all of those subreports span multiple pages?
    2) Do each of the Subreports start on a new page?
    If yes, for both, then here's what you need to do:
    1) Create a formula (@True) with this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus:= True
    2) Create another formula (@False) with this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus:= False
    Drag and drop the @True formula on the details sections for which you want the Page Footer to be suppressed.
    Similarly, drop the @False formula on the details sections for which you want the Page Footer to show up.
    Then, go to the Section Expert > Select Page Footer c > Click the formula button beside Suppress and use this code:
    shared booleanvar SetStatus;

  • Passing Paramters to sub-report

    I need some help with parameters between reports.  I have a master report and a sub-report which is linked to a stored procedure.  The stored procedure used in the sub-report has input parameters defined.
    I have a master report which has a two level dynamic prompt.  When one of three companies are selected, the dynamic list of states available for that company is displayed.  I then want to assign the selected list of states to the  parameter in the sub-report.  I have created a shared variable and joined the master reports parameter values into the variable.  In the master the resulting string looks like what I want in the sub-report stored procedure, for example ('WA', 'OR').  However, when I run the report the stored procedure input parameter appears to have no values assigned.
    Is there some way to assign the default for the sub-report store procedure parameter to a value from the master report?
    Thanks

    Sorry, but I am still missing something.  I have a formula which builds the string.
    Shared stringVar vStates;
    vStates := JOIN({?pCompany - CIS_DIVISION},",");
    vStates := "'" + vStates + "'";
    vStates := REPLACE (vStates, ",","','");
    vStates;
    When shown on the report the output is what I want, 'WA','OR'.  But when linked to the SP parameter, no data is returned when more than one state is selected.  Again, when a single value is selected, it works fine.
    The input parameter is defined as varchar2 in the SP.

  • When opening a non on demand sub-report it is only printing portrait?

    Hi All,
    I am running crystal XI,
    I have a landscape report, created a non on demand sub-report,
    Which generates the sub-report that is in portrait, even though the page setup says landscape,
    When previewing it also shows me the margins of portrait in a landscape page.
    Best regards and thanks in advanced,
    Gavin Doris

    OK. Here you go:
    Step 1: Highlight the Subreport
    Step 2: Move the Subreport towards the left margin:
    Step 3: Increase the width of the Subreport so that it touches the right most margin:
    Hope this makes sense?
