Queries -
1) If i choose a plan of 8Eur(800 mins) Internalional India calling subscription, can i call in local area in amsterdam? If so, what are the rates ?
2) Do we require internet plan activated for skype call? If yes, do 2g speed is enough for clear voice?
3) Do the person whom i call should be on Skype too (having internet connection ? ) ?

2.4ghz is plenty of processing, if it means you'll save money over the 2.7ghz. I'd have suggested 2.7 if you also do heavy video editing/rendering using FCP, etc... but the spec you have is plenty

How to pack() twice without flicker (and other fireworks)? (with SCCEE :)
Hello, there is this "feature", that sometimes you have to call pack() twice to pack tightly around the subject. This has been discussed here before, some people call it a bug, camickr said he did not know why, this is just how the layout worked. OK, the problem with calling it twice, is that the user notices the window flicker.
The flicker does not happen every time (or, better say, we do not see it every time), that's why I put the whole thing in the loop in the SCCEE.
Even worse, this does not happen right now in my program, but in the SCCEE, there is also a boatload of exceptions (not mine), sometimes pack() even called twice does not work, and eventually, the whole loop just hangs.
(So, by Murphy's law, these things will eventually happen in my big program too)
Question: how do I resize a JFrame tightly around a JTextPane, without the flicker (and other special effects)? Here is the code, if you look carefully, you can tell the window momentarily went taller, before going shorter again - does not always happen, if you are lucky it will do this a few times before it hangs altogether... I do this many times in myprogram, as the user moves things around, they really notice.
If I call setVisible(false) before the pack()s and then back to true after, then of course, the flicker is even worse.

ICloud is switched on but won't open on the internet and other annoying iCloud mysteries.
Using iCloud between iPhone iPad and iMac. For some reason all my notes are not on all three devices. Spent hours the other day trying to fix that to no avail. Now using the iPad. iCloud is on in the settings menu but when I go to the internet it gives me the front page of iCloud that had only three choices. Download iCloud or find my phone or find my friends. What is going on? Why won't it open to my iCloud page?
You can't access iCloud.com from a mobile device.
First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing. -
Volume Mixer Slide Bar Controls display on screen and interfere with internet and other functions.
Without warning Volume Slide Bar Controls will display on my screen fluctuating levels like I was changing the volume/bass/treble level. This stops/blocks whatever I'm doing on the the notebook such as typing, internet, turns on my "wireless" connection, turns on the volume mixers (I keep it turned off), and stops my typing. This will go on for varying lengths of time, and then all goes back to normal. It happens on or off the internet, wireless or wired.
Performed HP scan & all checks out o.k. Scanned for everything possible. Everything is up to date.

I like it that I can save webpages with or without dependencies in a separated folder. And its implementation in Firefox (e.g. it remembers how I saved something before, and that way becomes the default) can also be good sometimes. But usually it is not.
Usually I want to save pages as HTML-only. Sometimes, but only sometimes I have to save a page as a whole (I don't know the name of the feature). But after I save something with dependencies, I often forget that, and don't care about this option. Firefox, however, doesn't forget it, and saves thousands of unimportant images, until I notice it and switch it off again.
This is not good.
I tried Google Chrome, which simply don't remember how I saves something before, and always select the complete page option for default. It is exactly the opposite of the perfect solution (in my opinion). The best would be if the browser would save everything as HTML only, if I don't change it. Or it would be even better if I could configure it manually (turn this remembering feature on/off).
This is not a beginner's problem, so it would be good if only a config option solved this. I imagine that already exists a config option for this, but I could not find it. I found only the "browser.download.save_converter_index" option, which depends on how I used it last time.
Is there a config option for this? Or should I report this in the Firefox brainstorm page?

Show URL in browser without toolbar and others
Hello,
I am new in calling URL. In a CRM transaction we have an action that must show a variable URL (loads clients data). I am using a modified version of the Reuse Library RSDEMO_HTML_VIEWER. It uses classes cl_gui_html_viewer and cl_gui_custom_container.
The client wants to load the data of the URL but does not want the toolbar, the menubar nor the location. Is it possible to do this?
On the other hand, as soon as I leave my program, the browser disappears. Is it possible to maintain the browser open even I leave the program?.

I have a custom transaction that calls the Browser wildow(that is calling a webpage).
I am trying to display the browser progress status in the cl_gui_html_viewer by adding a status bar to the cl_gui_custom_container .
Similar to howAP has the FM "SAPGUI_PROGRESS_INDICATOR" to show the SAP GUI status.
Is there anyway we can able to capture the browser status and disply the status??
If you come across this situation ,share your knowledge.

Expose one site collection to Internet and other site collections in intranet
hi,
as per my requirement i need to build the following applns:
1) custom document mgmnt system with lot of publishing/ collaboration features- discussion forums, site mailbox,check in / check -out , archiving the old documents, generate custom view
2) Km portal - a Knowledge management system with communities, upload document feature , share the contents,blog,wikis
3) MySite - Newsfeed, individual site collections, microblogging enabled
4) an Internet based web appln which has geographically spanned users
but the issue is customer is NOT ready to allow us to give space for multiple web applns, they are going to give ONLY ONE web application. because in their existng farm already some . because
so even if i can combine the (1), (2),(3) in one web application, i doubt the (4)th one is not possible.
also the number of docs which would be uploaded/retrieved by end users is 3 to 4 million documents!! so definitely it will cross the
200 GB mark for the content Db limit.
Would like to know whether this is possible
(1) create a single web appln and make 4 site collections and expose the (4)th one - Internet based ?
or
is this a wrong approach that I will be heading into.I think you might look at the host named site collection

What i mean is, that the tags in the second response are somewhat human readable whilst the tags in the first respond are somewhat left technical.

DennisYou are not doing anything wrong. The xml is different because of what SharePoint considers the return value. In the case of the properties, this is considered one Entity or an object of key/value pairs. In the case of the files, this is considered a collection
of entities and is returned as a feed. The xml will be different. I recommend that you set your 'accept' header to 'application/json;odata=verbose' to make it easier to handle return values in your code. You can use either System.Web.Scrip.Serialization namespace
or Newtonsoft library to parse the json. You can also control how much json is returned by setting the odata to return verbose, minimal or none .

RE6500 - deleting extended networks and other queries
I've got four questions which I hope have easy answers:
1) I have an RE6500 and have set it up using the excellently simple instructions to extend my 2.4GHz network.. Later, once it's running, I use the web interface to a add a 5GHz extended network. Now my original 2.4GHZ network, which belongs to my router, is extended to 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Excellent. So later still I decide I want to remove the 5GHz network. But how? There's no button or box to turn off either of the extended networks. The only way I've been able to get rid of the 5GHz extended network is to perform a factory reset and start again from scratch. There must be a better way, but what is it?
2) The 5GHz extended network I created in (1) comes up on channel 36. How can I change this?
3) I want the extender to only "listen" on 2.4GHz and only "talk" on 5GHz. How can I do this?
4) Is it me, or are the keyhole slots on the base (for wall mounting) really the wrong way up?The RE6500 lets you repeat the wireless signal of any access point or router to provide Internet connectivity in hard to reach areas through a wireless connection on the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequency band. You can't change the channel. You can disable the SSID broadcast by accessing the user interface of the extender. The link shows an RE1000 but accesing it is just the same.

RAM upgrade and other queries for 13" Macbook (Late 2006)
Hi everyone,
I have read many posts on these forums (very informative I must add) but I need your help in clarifying a few issues. I have a 13.3" white Macbook which I purchased in May 2007 - 2 GHz Core 2 Duo, 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, 80 GB HDD. I plan on upgrading from my current OS 10.4.11 to 10.6 Snow Leopard in a few weeks. My issues:
1. Upgrade RAM to the max allotment. I read on Apple support (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1651) that I can only go up to 2 GB RAM for my MB model. However various folks in this forum as well as 3rd party vendors dispute this for up to 3.3 GB RAM - via two 2 GB RAM memory. Can someone validate this? I plan to purchase memory from OWC.
2. My laptop fan is running more frequently than normal. Should I worry about this? I don't see any abnormal usage in Activity Monitor. Any thoughts?
3. I have clocked 312 battery recharge cycles on my MB battery. A couple of times the laptop shutdown when there was 15 mins charge remaining. Anyway the past few weeks I have kept the power cord plugged in since I don't move much. I read somewhere this bypasses the battery once the charge is complete. Is this true? Is there a battery recharge cycle count when its advisable to replace the battery?

Wal (SD)I have about 20GB free space out of a total of 80 GB HD. At this moment I don't plan on increasing the HD space. But after installing OS 10.6, if the fan speed issue continues then I may invest in a new HD. My assumption is installing OS 1.6 will free up some space and I am hoping that will keep me comfortable.
Reg. my battery, yeah it has lasted for over 2.5 yrs. So I am happy about that. But I hear what you are saying. Perhaps I will get a new battery. Are there any longer lasting batteries introduced for the late '06 MB? A full charge lasts me about 3 hours - assuming I don't run any data or video intensive apps.

Almost all of RAM is being used, internet and other tasks are slow
My computer seems to be getting slower. I don't do much more than run Safari. When I run the activity monitor it shows that I have 3.99 GB of memory used out of 4 GB of physical memory.
This forum is quite general, basically for modern Macs. It would help if you said what model your Mac is and more importantly what Operating System you are running.

Have reset Safari? I recommend you try this. It may be all you need to do occasionally.
From the Safari menu, select Reset Safari and select everything except Remove saved names and passwords.
Also from the same menu Empty the Cache as well and see how that goes. -
Sometimes the use of multiple softwares slows the system down and I get a rotating circle.This never used to happen.
I have checked software updates.
Checked system preferences
All the obvious stuff

Make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
