Calling Update Info sercive within a Custom service

Hi,
I created custom service which will perform some task and at the end of it I want to update value of one metadata. Could some one help how to update meta data from a custom service. I am using intradoc API for creating custom service.
Regards,
Padmaja.

Hey Padmaja,
Instead of making a Service you can also make ServiceHandler. From within handler you can call any other service you want.
One thought about service, there are many services that call multiple java methods. So what you can also try is
call multiple java method one them should be your custom java method and other should be the method(doSubService) used by UPDATE_DOCINFO service.
cheers,
sapan

  • Disappointed, can no longer trust Verizon for customer service

Looks like I'm not the only one disappointed in Verizon's customer service, I've already seen a number of complaints on forums and this website itself.
I'm writing this "discussion" in efforts to get something done about Verizon's customer service. Yes, I know there are good customer service representatives but also there are bad representatives that can definitely bring it down for customers like myself.
I was charged $299.99 for returning a damaged device after getting a warranty exchange for a different model. I was on my third model of the pantech breakout and started seeing the same issues I had with previous phones on my current phone, I called customer service and was told by an extremely rude representative to "buy a lotto ticket, because the chances of multiple phones having the same issue is the same as you winning the lotto." Her tone was sarcastic and rude which offended me and closed any chance of me willing to work with technical support or other representatives to fix this issue. My previous pantech breakouts and the one I was using had issues of my SD formatting, SD ejecting without me doing anything, contacts disappearing, phone memory deleting to make room for updates that I had turned off, and basically I was losing data on my phone from pictures, contacts, to personal emails and content without me even doing anything. I went through 3 models and worked with technical support to change my phone, SD card and back memory up but still had a number of issues. This is when I called and was told to buy a lotto ticket. I was extremely upset with the representative and told them to not send a warranty exchange phone because of her rudeness and attitude. I visited a local verizon wireless store and told them my situation and was given a deal - buy the battery of a samsung s3 and get it for free - note that i did have a small crack on my screen which the sales representative saw and DID NOT mention anything about there being a damage fee. I understand that on the box you use to return the device it does say that there will be a fee for damaged devices, BUT my issue is - why did the sales representative not notify me? Verizon was expecting back a pantech, not the samsung they sent out ... either way I had to send back my pantech, why not reconfirm there will be a fee?
I called verizon's customer service and told them my current situation, the lady told me to get in contact with my local store in which I did the exchange. Here are my call records:
Friday - verizon wireless center --> local verizon store (was told they will call me back monday after figuring out the problem)
    Monday - NO call
Tuesday - I call my local store, the manager was not working and they told me to call on Wednesday which was when the manager will be in
Wednesday - NO manager, and the local store told me they will call me on Thursday
Thursday - I waited till 4pm (California time) and did not receive a call so I called them, they tell me that the fee is valid because "none of their representatives will EVER sell a phone without notifying their customers of any damage fees"
First of all, it took 5 days to even get a solid answer of my bill, and let alone ... the manager can't simply push the "verizon customer satisfaction guarantee, no one will sell a device without notifying customers of fees" slogan around and tell me I'm lying and that fees are valid. I turned to verizon's customer service for help and was told I can return my device and lose the fee, I asked if I would be given my old device back - NO I wont, so then what device do I use? NO device was to be given to me which sucks because I then would lose $150+ initial payment for getting a pantech breakout then the $40 for the samsung battery and was left with no phone.
After talking with supervisiors and managers, I was given the last deal - 25% off the $299.99 fee
My issue with verizon is that I do not understand WHY customers (myself) have to pay such fines when the issue lays within their customer service and sales representatives. I understand the issue with returning a damaged device BUT i do NOT understand why I am the only one having to pay consequences for this whole issue? Verizon is a big company, so are the under the impression losing one customer is nothing? I will now be returning my samsung s3 and doing an early termination because I am fed up with customer service, I believe it is wrong for anyone to be treated this way and then have to pay. I would rather pay the early termination, then be stuck with people telling me to buy lotto tickets and me to stop lying.
Verizon needs to do a check up on their customer service representatives and work on getting the window of communication open and seriously attend to the needs of customers because they just lost one customer who has been with them since 2008

Crack voided the warranty, hence the 299.99
The rep made a mistake by judging this as a phone that could be exchanged by warranty, when it wasn't. Plus he / she should have informed you about the fees that do occur when / if the phone seems to be physically damaged.
How did you know the phone had a crack?

In this case you could return the phone and use the $300 or even less to purchase another phone of contract (third party sites).
After talking with supervisiors and managers, I was given the last deal - 25% off the $299.99 fee
This would be the best option in my opinion as you'll get a great phone for discounted price

That problem is solely based on the store, and who manages it. Same goes for every other business out there.
Same goes for the Customer Service line.

  • Extraordinarily poor customer service & two weeks to replace a settop box???

Can Verizon explain the huge decrease in your customer service over the past several months? After being a Verizon customer for nearly 20 years, we are in the process of looking for an alternate service provider after spending a week with your customer service representatives trying to obtain a replacement settop box Model 6200.
After six hours of phone calls and a week of waiting, we now have a stack of three boxes sitting outside. The original that no longer powers up, the wrong unit that is obviously refurbished with huge scratches and grime all over it, and a new 7100.
The best thing Verizon seems to be able to do now is send a technician in another week with a 6200 on the truck. Obviously, our confidence in this is not very high.
During the process of calling in to Verizon every day this week, I have had the horrible experience of talking to your automated attendant who specifies that she/it has updates on my FIOS installation. When I follow the prompts to obtain more information, I hold for several minutes. Twice this week, your computers were down, so the reps simply hung up and said to call back.
Several of your customer service representatives were extremely nice and helpful but the bottomline is that after a week, I still don't have the correct piece of equipment. I also have your automated system telling me that I have two appointments in two weeks to send out technicians to install FIOS on one day and PHONE on another day. No one at Verizon can respond when I ask them what this is about.
Management seems to be non-existant or non-caring, and I'm not sure which is worse. Verizon representatives made the following statements that make it appear that Verizon has taken purposeful steps to make escalations of service problems by a customer impossible.
    1. Supervisors cannot be reached by customers. They will call you back within 24-48 hours.
    2. There is no headquarters phone number is not made available to customers because no one at Verizon executive offices will speak to a customer. This is a direct quote.
    3. The headquarters telephone number listed by Verizon in any public forum is a voicemail box. (REALLY?????)
    4. The legal/compliance number provided on your website forwards to customer service representatives who tell customers that they will look up the number on the same website that customers can. Which then transfers to the same customer service rep.
Verizon has made it apparent that customer that are treated poorly by the company are not taken seriously and that you will simply ask for "one more chance" to make it right in another three to five days and take the customers time for granted.
Amazingly, I can get through to pay a bill or order a new service in five minutes!

That's one of the very reasons why I don't call 1-800-VERIZON unless I really have to because I too have been there with the runaround where it wastes so much time and nobody seems to know what they're doing but I've had other experiences with that call line which worked out better.  Either way, I blame management.  It's very disorganized and sometimes it's like asking for the impossible when you're making a very basic and reasonable request for something.  My only other alternative available in my area is Comcast which wouldn't be very much different from what I have seen.
I haven't done this myself but as someone else here suggested, you might accomplish a lot more by exchanging your STB at a Verizon Fios TV store but please be sure to call first before venturing out.  I know other people here have gotten this sort of problem resolved a lot quicker that way.
Here is the website for finding your nearest store.  It might be worth the time even if you have to go a little out of your way.  I often prefer to speak to someone in person:

  • Customer Service on CS5 Master Suites

I spent 6hrs on the phone with Tech Support & Customer Service.
I purchased the CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection upgrade. I purchased it from a Adobe Authorized large company that carries PC and Mac sofware. The issue I have a 32 bit IMAC and the Adobe Premier and After Effects would not install on the system. Everything else updated fine to the CS5. Tech support had me do everything from setting up a new user reinstalling running the disk utility and on numerous phone calls to his senior tech rep.
Finally he said download the CS5 trial on these two programs and then just type in my serial number and the program will install fine. That didn't work and back to tech support more time wasted. The tech support said to call Customer Service and they will send the CS4 Adobe Premier and After Effects because it should of been shipped inside the box. Then Customer Service said it should of been shipped in the box another Customer Service rep no its not included, Tech Support yes it is included and said talk with Customer Service and they will give you a link to download the software. The last Customer Service Rep said it should of been shipped but since I did not purchase the software directly from the Abobe store website that they could not help me and they can not locate my serial number and can not help me. The Customer Service Rep also quoted that resellers like MACMA** and the other companies are not reliable sellers of abobe products.
I guess since you buy a product not from the adobe store and save yourself a few dollars that Adobe can't help.
Maybe Adobe should send out info so Tech Support, Customer Service all has the same info. You spend around 1,300 and this is the Customer Service Adobe gives you. Great work Adobe you really know how to treat customers!
Here is the email I got back from Adobe this morning
Thank you for contacting Adobe Customer Service
We have received your concern for the Serial numbers of After Effects
and Premiere Pro for the 32 bit installation as well as the discs that
is not included in your package. We understand that you purchased this
from a reselelr thus it is best to ask for the replacements from them
because the discs as well as the serial numbers should come with your
package and should not be missing.
Kindly contact the reseller for the replacement of your package. Hope we
are able to address your concern.
    Thank you,
    Karl
    Adobe Customer Service

Yes I understand the Adobe Premier and After effects in CS5 run on 64 bit only - but the 4 adobe Techs and 3 out of the 6 customer service reps said that a CD for CS4 for Adobe Premier and After effects comes with the CS5 suite. They said that their are so many adobe customers with 32 bit so that is why it should of been included in the CS5 master suite. Some of them are telling me that that their should of been a separate DVD

  • Customer service issues, no complaint department!

Not sure I'm really asking a question here, just looking for a place to be heard!  Up to now my experience with Verizon has been good, however I've always been on the buying end, Verizon on the selling.  Recently though, I needed to cancel a line on my account.  Not a big deal, or so I thought!  First, there is absolutely no way that I can find to do this through the website, even though it is very easy to add a line through the website.  I live about an hour away from the nearest store and didn't want to make the drive just to get rid of the line.  So I looked up the phone number for the store via the website only to discover that even though each store shows a different number, your call is clearly routed to a universal call center in who-knows-where.  Furthermore the automated system is terrible!  I called 3 times on my cell phone and never got past the first set of options because it wouldn't recognize that I was hitting the numbers to respond.  The fourth time I called on a land line and got through the first and second level, but by the 3 level it was having trouble recognizing my keystrokes again and routed me back around to the 1st level only to start again.  Eventually I got to a human only to figure out that this was not my store that I was led to believe I was calling.  All that just to deal with some stranger who doesn't know me or my account, just reading info off a screen!  And, whose number one goal was not to just take care of my request, but rather sell me something, or in this case, do her best to talk me out of getting rid of the line!  Are you kidding me!  If I wanted high pressure sales personnel I would've chose that option two levels ago!!!  After finally convincing her that yes I do want to cancel the line, and no I do not want to keep it and use it for a different device, she puts me on hold "while she takes care of that".  Unbelievable!  Eventually, she came back and the deed was finally done.  By now I'm looking for an email address, or a complaint department, again not through the website, and there was no way I was calling again.  So this is all I got, and I have no confidence that this will generate any change.  Lesson learned:  1) Verizon is typical big business, only cares about making your purchasing experience easy and pleasurable, and creates as many road blocks as necessary to dissuade you from doing anything that lowers your bill or cost them income.  2) Even though its an hour away, any business I do with Verizon will require that I make the drive and deal with someone face-to-face, yes even in the most technologically advanced nation on the planet in 2014!  Did I mention I'm dealing with a cell phone company...the irony!
To those who read this, whomever you may be, I apologize for the rant since you are probably not anyone that can actually do anything about it.

To get through to a person on the  phone you simply need to continue to press 0. Works for me every time. Any rep, no matter in the store or on the phone, is tasked with trying to keep you from canceling any services. It is their job. You can't get mad at them for simply doing their job. How would you feel if someone got mad at you for the same thing. Let them do their jobs. It does stink that you have to repeatedly request the cancellation of service but their responsibility is to find another solution if possible.
When you call a Verizon Wireless store and nobody answers your call gets routed to a national call center. Why? Because customer service. How would you feel if you called the store and it just kept ringing and nobody answered? Oh. The store is not allowed to access your account, let alone process a cancellation of services, without an authorized user in the store to show identification. So had you actually gotten someone in the store you would have been directed to visit the store making the hour drive that you clearly didn't want to make or call in. All of this during the busiest week of the year.
We are not the most technologically advanced country on the planet. France has trains that travel 200MPH, China had a 21% growth in wind power capacity (in megawatts) while the US had 1% last year and also Quad HD displays have been available overseas for about 3 years now and are just hitting the US.
Any representative of VZW will know your account just as well as the next. They do this by reading info off of a screen. That's what the screen is there for.

  • Bt you need to get your customer service and billi...

HI all just to let you know I have been with bt ( all 3 packages vision, broadband option 3 and telephone + the £5 each month free calls )
Until they tried to put all of the bills together all was fine I got all bills and went online to pay instant with card and or part direct debit for 2 of the 3 accounts. ) all no problems.
    UNTIL!!!!!!
the change over back in July 2010.
After a 1.5 hours repetitive conversation with customer service ( and yes they where english speaking ) we are astill no where.
they now say that my bt broadband has a different account and has been sent to my landlord ( as he had to call them 3 yrs ago to get a line put in to my rent place)
any way the only problem is my broadband bill. I have not received any bill paper or email from July 2010 at ALL!!
I still get the bills for vision and telephone all in my name and gets paid direct debit I have no problems with those 2 its the broadband bill
Only to find last night my landlord came round irate that bt had cut him off because my broadband bill was not paid and he said its not his its mine ( this was lets say a slight confrontation with me and landlord) BT muck up again !!!!
Next I call today to speak to Customer service only for them to keep repeating that there is nothing they can do its in the landlords name.
I say I'm not bothered I just want to know why I was getting all bills and paying for them ON TIME until July 2010.
They then say they need to change the account holder to my name and I say but your sending me online email bill and paper billing for my vision and telephone why have you stopped the broad band.
Any way sorry for long story but I am seriously thinking of enough is enough now what with the first 18 months broad band connection problems ( exchange end had to re port 3 times their end) and 4 engineers. to get it sorted to now when BT change all account into one for this to happen.
LISTEN BT  ITs now become a personal confrontational matter ( my landlord coming round)
ITS your problem your end GET it sorted.
If my only advice to anyone with BT
1GET account in your name same address if possible.
    2. make sure BT know your mobile, and email addresses. double check each year when you renew contracts
    3. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN , name, time date who spoke to.
HERE COMES BIG COMPLAINTS LOOK OUT BT
also sent email to adam lee yesterday about this whole thing. Adam lee was who my landlord spoke to about the whole thing and so I think he deducted the wrong billing of my broadband to his account.
his email is  ******* for any one else.
    UPDATE:
when I check my online statements it shows all 3 accounts yet BT customer service say my broadband account has been disconnected??  DUHHHH im using it now !!
and funny thing is  how can you pay a bill if the broadband says your bill is uptodate your next bill is due 16th October 2010 ( YES 2010 ..LOL)

    Hi Hamish72
    Thanks for comments
I totally agree as I run my own facebook custom fanpage design and webhosting so I know how customers what to be treated Key 1 I learnt is always listen and repeat back their question. and 2 solve the problem. 3 revert back to no: 1
UPDATE: just spoke to another customer service person called KAREN. Now this is not a name and shame in fact I have include her name as she sorted this all out in 30 mins totally understood and has 75% solved problem while on the phone. The other 25% is down to waiting to activation of a move over of the error of bt putting my broadband account under my landlords account ( different address ). Why the other CS couldn't do this I don't know.
any way will let you all know how it goes.

  • Customer service complaint - very disappointed

I just spent another hour on the phone with Verizon's Customer Service.  After being a loyal customer since 2003, my phone stopped working.  I went into a store and they helped me get it replaced.  The second phone I got had issues with it's battery life.  I went in again, they couldn't fix it and they ordered me a replacement.  The third phone also did not work and I did not have service for a week.  I brought it to the store and they actually broke it some more and again, I didn't have a phone for a few days, until my replacement came.
When I called Customer Service to tell them about my experience, I asked for a $200 credit to my account for all of the service, time, and frustration I wasted to have a functioning phone and service.  I told her that if they were not able to compensate me for that experience and reward me for being a loyal customer, my husband and I would take our business to AT&T (we are merging plans and both upgrading to an iPhone 6).  The woman I talked to asked for the amount I would feel okay with and I said $200.  She put me on hold for awhile and come back and said my $200 credit was approved and that she made note of it on my account.  I confirmed that it would show up on my next bill and that it was approved - she said yes.
A month passed and I did not see the credit on my bill.  I called to follow up and the customer service rep told me that the credit was actually not approved and there was nothing he could do.  After an hour back and forth, he finally put his manager on the phone.  I gave them one last chance to honor the promise Verizon made with my credit before I chose to take my business elsewhere.  They chose not to do anything.
My contract and my husband's contract are up - we were planning to go to Verizon this weekend to add him to my account.  I guess instead we'll be going to AT&T.  I am very disappointed.  All I was asking for was a reasonable credit, but they would rather lose two customers than take care of them.  I know Verizon is a big corporation, but I will definitely do what I can to deter anyone away from Verizon from now on.

That's terrible customer service.  Though my time is very valuable, I'm more angry that I was told that I would be credited when it wasn't true.  This was not my error, but Verizon's error and Verizon should take ownership of their mistake and honor what was said.  This is all in addition to 3 faulty phones and loss of service for days at a time.

  • Iphoto book order cancelled - Totally dissatisfying customer service

This message to alert you that Apple might cancel your iPhoto book order for no reason !
This is what just happened to me, leaving me in a totally dissatisfying and frustrating situation, as I did everything to have this book in time for Christmas, had to go through over an hour on the helpline with Customer Services, whose agents are badly informed on the solutions that they can offer you when such mistakes happen ---
I ordered an iphoto book on December 14, in order to have it in time for Christmas.
Nothing was reported wrong or erroneous when I placed the order and uploaded the book. Two days later, Apple cancelled my order without any notification sent to me. I have only learned about it on December 21, worried that my book had not arrived yet. I checked online about my order status, which then said "order cancelled". No explanation why. I waited for Monday December 23 in order to be able to talk from someone at Customer Services. I was then told that my order had been cancelled because one picture and text was overlapping, but they could not tell me exactly which one. It was then suggested to me that I should replace the same order and call back so that they could accelerate the process.
I placed the order and sent the exact same book to Apple again and then called back. Another assistant from Customer Services advised me that there was nothing they could do in order to accelerate the printing and delivery process. All they COULD HAVE offered me was 15% discount, which the first assistant did not mention and which now was too late for me to benefit from since I had already placed the order. Also, I was told that my exact same order did not produce any issue for printing, so that the first cancellation was in fact made without any reason.
This leaves me with the following situation: Although I have placed my first order in time for it to arrive before Christmas, I end up with no Christmas present, over an hour lost on the phone with customer services, no discount, no accelerated printing or delivery process or any other gesture in order for my infuriating situation to be less so, and a photo book that will arrive in early January when I will have already left my family to work abroad again.
I am entirely dissatisfied with the quality of the Apple iphoto book service and Apple customer services. I have not obtained any help or remedy from your customer services although several mistakes had been made on their side.
You are well advised to consider alternatives before spending hours on creating an iphoto book...

Anne, that is really outragious. And I cannot understand why the support did nothing to rectify their mistake and help you to get your book printed in time. The support teams at the Print Products Stores probably will not read these these Forums, these are user-to-user discussions. So, to make Apple listen to your justified complaint, use the feedback form.

  • Been with Verizon 3 weeks - misrepresentation, fraud and poor customer service

I was excited to find out that my company had a corporate discount for all employees: 22% discount of primary line, 22% off any data plan greater than $29.99/month and $75 credit on first month's bill.  Great!  I decided to port over my line from Tmobile, incurring the $100 early termination fee for 2 lines (family plan) and decided to finally get an iphone.
We all know how CSR are horrible at providing the correct information, so I called 3 times (2 to Verizon customer service) and 1 to a local B&M store to verify the details of my employee discount and to confirm that I would be eligible.  Yes, Yes and Yes.
Called VZ Customer Service on 1/10, verified AGAIN that the plan I was choosing qualified for the corporate discount, they confirmed and then I placed my order.  The first bill I received on 1/24 showed the 22% discount only on the line, but not the data plan.  Called VZ, the CSR's excuse:  The first bill is a partial, prorated bill so I won't see the 22% discount on the data plan nor the $75 credit until the following month's full bill.  The gentleman was nice enough to give me a courtesy credit of $7, which covers the data plan discount I was expecting.  He said he would note the $75 credit on my account so it would be applied correctly on the next month's bill.
Being the skeptic that I am, I called the next day 1/25 and verified with another CSR that she was able to see the note on my account that was supposedly entered in the previous night.  Of course she didn't see it.  I didn't bother to do anything further...I was going to wait until February to see what my bill looked like that take it from there.
Fast forward one month, get my bill...again, no corporate discount on the data plan and no $75 credit.  Called CSR, she said "oooh, that's because your corporate discount only applies to data plans that cost $45/month or higher."  I asked to speak with a supervisor.
Supervisor Melissa told me that the CSR is correct, and my data plan does not qualify.  The next part KILLS me.  I asked her if it made sense that I've spoken with 3 different Verizon representatives, all confirming the same thing up to this point.  Her answer:  "Well, every CS department operates a little differently.  For example, my group has a full 9 weeks of training so we know what we're talking about.  Other regions might be different."  So what she basically told me is that it doesn't matter that everyone is employed by the same company.  Because I was unlucky enough to be routed to a CS department in Booneyville where they don't know their head from their butt, I got misinformed.  Ooops, sorry.
The 22% discount on a $30 plan amounts to $7/month.  Is $7/month worth this HUGE discussion...no.  Am I ******, yes. I will be writing the corporate office, the BBB and filing a complaint.

Look, don't want to argue.  @lewisr13 - I ordered the phones on 1/10 and due to the backorder on iphones, wasn't able to port my number until 1/24.
It's not easy working at a call center and talking to hundred of people a day...I get it.  I was with tmobile for 6 years, I've had my share of getting wrong information at times, which is why I pulled the terms of my corporate discount on our website, verified with my internal rep the day before I started this whole thing and had VZ CSRs walk me through step by step my discount.  "Okay, so what you're saying is if I get X plan, I should see a 22% discount on this and that, which would bring my total monthly balance to X dollars, is that correct?"
I still think it's ridiculous that THREE different reps gave me the wrong information..that's a pretty bad ratio.
My title is over the top...CSRs weren't intentionally fraudulent or meant to misrepresent anything.  That said, as a paying customer, I still expect accurate information.  Keep in mind that I did call an additional 3 times prior to me even ordering the phone to verify this information as well.
Frustated, that's all.  I'm having our company rep look into it and if the misinformation initially came from my own company, it is what it is.

  • Very poor customer service - manager hung up because he didn't want to help or it was almost 9pm EST

    Hello,
Today I realized that even I have became victim of this hidden undisclosed charge which seems to be a SCAM and not treating customer fairly. I was charged $64.99 just for running a wire for TV which is on the other side of the wall in my house. They were just holes that I could have done. It was not an outlet (like electric outlet set up) that the representative and the manager said I was charged for.
Before, ordering the FIOS triple play service I asked the verizon representative online if there is any installation fee but I was told that installation is free if I signup online. I did signup online and tech came to setup. I asked him if there are any charges in making holes and I was told that everything is included but didn't say that I was going to be charged 64.99. He did not install a jack or outlet.  They were wires and holes.  The tech did a good job in trying to hide the wires and drilling holes but no outlet was installed.
I received my first bill and I was charged $64.99. This is a sham attitude towards the customer by Verizon and from this forum it looks like I am not only the victim. I called with verizon customer service today and she said she cannot do anything about this so she transferred me to a "manager."  The manager was not very helpful.  I explained my situation and he was not trying to listen because he said that all he can see is "billable.'"  Eventually, he hung up on me.  I called back and realized that the customer service is closed.  I am assuming that the manager is getting ready to leave that's why he hung up.
I am not sure what is worse.. being lied about the charges or hiring incapable managers.

  • Verizon fios poor customer service

I ended my account on April 21st (triple play) when my bill shot up $50, after discounts ended. I closed the account on April 21, and I was on automatic payment out of my checking account. The april bill was paid in full, and I asked that the automatic withdrawls stop as I unplugged everything. i asked if I could return the equipment to the verizon "store" in hauppauge and was told if I did I would get charged for ME TAKING THE EQUIPMENT TO THEM. They said I had to wait for shipping boxes to be sent. I had to call 3 times as I never received them . On my third call, all of a sudden I was told that I would not be charged since my account as closed.
Sure enough, verizon did indeed go ahead and withdraw my May payment, even though I asked them not to and since I did not have equipment. Again, I had  to call three times ,always getting a different answer.
Today, I found our (at least this is the story of the day), that I have to wait two billing cycles all the way until July 12 for a final final bill. Then I should expect my payment owed to me 16 days later. So they hold my money for 3 months after i cancelled.
By the way, more good Verizon stories:
    - My sons box died and we brought it to the hauppauge store and they charged me $10 because I did not call ahead of time to the customer service number.
    - We had two remotes not work any more and they charged me $12 for each one. They did not just swop out.
    - The last time I was with them, and left, they never sent me a final bill (ever try seeing your bill on line...its like trying to break into fort knox to get to what you want to see). and turned me over to collections - no notice no nothing .
    - the last time I had them, they turned off my service just days after the bill was supposed to be paid.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO FIOS - EVER. THEY CAN OFFER ME THE SERVICE FOR FREE .The product is very good but the customer service was beyond terrible. I have learned my lesson and will never switch back again.
They will probably remove this post, but I had to send this. My treatment was that awful. I don't like dealing with a company that treats you as if we are operating in a dictatorship.

On the contrary I have had great customer service from them.  But I only have FiOS internet with them.  Maybe customer service is regional and could depends on the individual representative.
    For example:
On one occasion when my FiOS box outside started acting up.  A tech came out and saw the box, he pulled this wire out and plug it back in, the box works again.  Three days later the box was acting up again, I did what he did - pulled the plug out and plug it back in and it works.  But I didn't feel like doing that every three days.
I called and another tech came out.  He installed a new ONT box, and put this black tape over the top of the box and said that it will keep water and moisture out 99% of the time.  He told me the reason the box was acting up was because of the moisture from the rain and it seeped through.  The new box doesn't have holes on top that let water seep through anymore.
Anyhow, my point is that the first tech had no idea why the box was acting up.  Didn't know that it was due to moisture and could temporary fix the problem.  The second tech understood the problem entirely and fixed it permanently.  So not all Verizon tech are trained equally.  Nevertheless I am a happy Verizon FiOS customer.

  • Poor customer service rep training

I've had problems for several weeks with my voice and internet service, which has involved phone calls and online chats with Comcast customer service staff.  Each time I talk to or correspond with someone, I get a different answer -- and no resolution to my problems.  Today was the worst...I was told to take my cable modem to a local service center to swap it for a new one.  I did that, only to be told that I had been misinformed; since I have voice service, only a tech can swap out the modem. And, the cost to have a technician come out would be $50.  Why should the customer pay to resolve the service provider's problems or faulty equipment?  Needless to say, I'm ready to go back to AT&T.  I thought they were bad, but Comcast is proving to be even worse.  Is there anyone at Comcast who has a clue?

While Comcast is the best service in our area, their customer tracking and support services rate an "F" and that's higher than I would normally give. I had one of their supervisors out to my place to track down a speed issue. This is an office with a network using Comcast installed equipment and set up by their techs originally. The recent site visit included a change out of the modem. We then tested and it was believed that all was working. 2 hours later, I discovered that I could not print from the laptops any longer (worked prior to the change out). After working with a "chat" person we set up an appointment to have them back at our place to address the problem. It was set for today 2-4. I recieved email confirms of the appointment and recorded messages to confirm. Unfortunately I was called away in an emergency and could not be there. I then called the service line to reschedule the appointment. No one could even find the already confirmed appointment. Worse yet, they did not understand what a network was. This was bumped three different times to other personnel with the same result. I've left a voicemail with the tech that was in my office and since it's Sunday, I fully understand it going to voicemail. I am hoping that someone from COMCAST will have the deciency to call me to get this resolved. Otherwise, I will get this on every News Service, Chat Board or other means of global conversation stating what poor service they provide with a problem comes up. OH and I just received a recorded interview from Comcast asking me about the service over the phone. Needless to say, I gave everything the lowest scores possible. [email protected] is where I can be reached if Comcast really cares.

  • Phone issues/customer service

Your phone system and customer service SUCKS.  It would be really nice if you added a "customer service" option to your main menu!  Yesterday evening, I was called to ask a question and got disconnected twice.  On the third attempt, I was on hold for 27 minutes and some change.  All this just to ask a simple question.  Today I called the billing department only to have the call disconnected AGAIN!  And your customer service representatives don't even have the decency to make a return call.  You need to fix this junk.  It's bad enough you keep raising your prices.  At least have a good customer service department and better phone service when customers call in.

    Hi bnmotorsgt,
Apologies for the issues with the phone lines. What question can I answer for you?

  • Anyone else experiencing poor customer service?

Long time verizon customer experiencing major problems with customer service and tech support.  I'm not sure I've ever been treated this poorly by any customer service group.  Am I the only one experiencing problems?  My issue relates to a Samsung Note 3 phone that had problems...here is my timeline.
    1)  Nov 24 or 25  phone is freezing in apps.  go to cellular sales store, call verizon while there and go through troubleshooting, tech support agrees phone needs to be replaced under warranty.  told phone would arrive on Nov. 28th.  Recieve email confirmation with order number and tracking the next day.  Phone does not arrive on 28th or on the 29th.  I happened to be visiting the post office on the 29th and ask them to look through unsorted packages for mine.  they find it, I take it home and get it set up.  2)  Replacement phone locks up in sleep mode.  Call tech support and run through troubleshooting.  I am asked to leave phone in safe mode for a while to see if phone still freezes.  It does and I respond to text from tech support that the phone is still locking in sleep mode.  The respond back that they will put in order for replacement for the replacement and they will try to overnight the phone. 3)  Dec 1 Have not recieved email confiming order or tracking information.  I call customer service and am told that they see that the phone was ordered and that it should arrive next day.  4)  Dec 2.  phone does not arrive, nor do I recieve email confirmation or tracking.  I call customer service and am told that it was shipped and that it should arrive on Dec 3, or 4th at the latest.  5)  Dec 3 Phone does not arrive, nor did I recieve email confirmation or tracking.  I call customer service and am transferred to tech support.  I am told that there is no record of a replacement being ordered.  Tech support insists that I go through troubleshooting again, even though I've already spent hours doing this on Saturday.  Tech confirms that the phone needs to be replaced and orders a replacement to be delivered on Dec 5.  I asked why I was told by three different Verizon employees that a replacement had been ordered and was on its way.  No reason given, just he wasn't sure and that he wasn't saying that I was lying.  So, I ended that call and felt like I really didn't have answers as to why the second replacement wasn't ordered, though I was told by three different employees that it was.  Absolutely confused, disappointed, and angry.  I tried verizon chat to engage customer service. They suggested I call and ask for a manager.  I did, while still engaged with chat.  I spoke to someone who told me that the order was flagged and I needed to speak to fraud.  She redirected my call, then I was hung up on.  The gentleman on chat suggested I call in the morning and request a manager.  I called this morning and spoke to customer service, who passed me along to tech support.  Tech support did not have an answer for why 3 people told me a phone was on it's way, just maybe somebody pressed the wrong button or something.  I was told a manager isn't going to tell me anything different, so it wasn't necessary to get a manager.  She confirmed that a phone was scheduled for delivery on 12/5 and that was all she could do.  So, I've been without a functional phone for two weeks and can only hope that a phone is really being delivered tomorrow.  So disappointed.

Yes LasinaH, I did receive a shipping tracking number this afternoon that indicates the phone should be delivered tomorrow afternoon.  But, this doesn't make everything ok.  I've been offered apologies, but not explanations.  No one seems to care that there is possibly something wrong in the whole process, nor do they hesitate to understand.  This is how you lose loyal customers of 15 + years.  If i could switch carriers without penalties of early termination, I would do so tomorrow.

You should call Apple but you should get an email from Apple. I got one a few minutes ago and this is what they said about AppleCare+ :
Thank you for your recent iPhone 5 purchase at the Apple Store.
We would like to let you know that every iPhone comes with one year of hardware repair coverage through its limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary support. AppleCare+ for iPhone extends your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPhone and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $49 service fee.
We noticed you weren't given the opportunity to add AppleCare+ to your iPhone. If you would like to extend your coverage for only $99, please reply to this email by September 21st.
After that date, if you would still like to purchase AppleCare+ within the first thirty days of receiving your iPhone, you can call AppleCare at 800-MY-IPHONE or visit an Apple Retail Store.
Thank you for shopping with Apple.
    Sincerely,
    Apple Online Store Team
