Callmanager password

Hi have a subscriber that when I start it up it says that a few cisco services would not start due to log on failure, the account is ccmserv, the password has not changed and some services using that account are working?
any ideas
Thanks

Try Adminutility.exe
Run it from the Publisher to verify passwords are in synch.
Its under Program Files/Cisco/bin
Which services failed to start?

  • Password recovery on CallManager server

    Hi,
I have some CallManager server and I don't know admin password. I have one but it is not taht password.
Can you tell me how can I do password recovery on CallManager server?
    Thanks,
    Vlaho

    To change the password phrase
    =========================
You can use Adminutility tool to reset the Private password phrase, this tool only runs on
the Publisher and needs to be done after hours since it stops services; here is the path
and the steps to run it.
    C:\ProgramFiles\Cisco\Bin\adminutility.exe
Log into the utility as Administrator and select the very top checkbox to select all
accounts. Then go to Options and Set new password
It will ask you for the password phrase, and the tool will run, everything keeps working
    fine after the tool finishes.
    To Change DC Directory Password:
    ================================
Please follow the instructions in the following document (attached for your reference):
How to Change the DC Directory Password
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_configuration_
    example09186a00800942be.shtml
    To Change CCM Administrator:
    ============================
    >From the Cisco CallManager,
    1. Go to Start > Run; type CCMPWDChanger and press enter.
    2. Enter DC Manager Password
    3. Select CCMAdministrator for Userid and password.
    To Change CCM Services Password:
    ================================
Please follow the following steps to reset the passwords on all servers in the cluster:
Step 1: Log on as the local Administrator on the Publisher.
Step 2: Using Explore, browse to C:\Program Files\Cisco\Bin and launch AdminUtility.exe.
Step 3: Within the User Password field, input the local Administrator password and click
    OK.
Step 4: Select the check-box for at the top of the tree which should correlate to the
    DNSname of the Publisher.
Step 5: Select Options from the menu, and Set New Password.
Step 6: Input your 1 ? 15 character alphanumeric password phrase that will be used to
generate the complex passwords for each local account and service. Re-enter the string
within the next field for verification and click OK.
Step 7: Highlight all systems within the cluster and click Update Server Password. You
will receive a warning message informing you that this will take down all systems with the
cluster and could take a significant amount of time. Click OK.
Step 8: When completed, for each system you will see that the Update was successful. Click
EXIT once all systems within the cluster have successfully updated.
Step 9: Close the AdminUtility window.
    To Change Windows Administrator Password:
    =========================================
Please make sure that the Local Administrator password is SAME on all servers in the
    cluster.
To change the password, perform the following steps:
    1. Right click My Computer.
    2. Select Manage.
    3. Go to Local Users and Groups.
    4. Go to Users.
    5. Right click Administrator.
    6. Select Set Password.
    7. Type in the password and confirm.

  • Lost CCMAdmin Password

Does anyone know of a way to recovery/reset the CCMAdmin password in CallManager 4.2?
I don't have many details unfortunately, but a customer has deleted one of the admin accounts for CallManager 4.2. This isn't the Windows admin account, but the CallManager admin account. The original CCMAdmin account still exists (I think). I can find processes and utilities to reset this password, but only if you already know the password - more of a password change than a recovery/reset.
I've heard whispers of a TAC method for recovering this password that wasn't published. There is no TAC support for this system.
I found a config file (sorry, I don't have access to the system now and can't remember the exact file) that had the CCMAdmin username and a password entry that was apparently hashed. I tried to reverse the hash with no success. My thought is that I could enter that password by hand and restart the cluster to recover it.
I'm sorry for being so vague. I don't have access to the system now and am not very well versed with the older CallManager versions.

you can try the below link and check if that works

  • Sa password is blank?

    Folks,
Why does callmanager does not change the password of sa after the install? It asks for SQL password and still the sa passwors is blank and any odbc source can connect to the callmanager database when connecting to it??
why such a big security hole? any reason behind it? what can we do to secure callmanager database?

Starting with 4.0, the database gets installed using NT authentication instead of the SQL sa authentication, unless you do a co-resident install with IPCC and then I am pretty sure it changes it to mixed mode. I am surprised you actually get into the database with blank sa password:
    Introduction
In order to make administration of Cisco CallManager 4.0 easier, authentication has changed from 'SQL Server and Windows' to a 'Windows Only' authentication. In the past, a separate account and password was required in order to access the SQL database on the Cisco CallManager server after the initial Windows logon to the server. In Cisco CallManager 4.0, you only need to logon to Windows in order to gain access to the SQL database. This was done so users would not have to remember their SQL Server system administrator (SA) passwords after their initial install. For additional information refer to the Cisco CallManager Installation Documentation

  • Password to access the PSTN

    Hi all
I have a CCME ver4 in a router 2811 with 4 fxo ports to PSTN and 20 ip phones.
I need establish password code by users to have different type the access to the PSTN (local, LD, LDI), and that the phone number and code password appear in the report call history, to control the users.
The router have a COR configuration but work by phone and not by user.

    Hi Brandon
I need establish authorization code in the callmanager express or something similar.
I try establish this autorization code with a dial-peer, but not work.
    example
    dial-peer without code
    dial-peer voice 100 pots
    destination-patern 01........
    forward-digits all
    port 1/1/1
    dial-peer with code
    dial-peer voice 100 pots
    destination-patern 99901........

  • Password and PIN sync

Is there a way to sync and unify the passwords and PINs between Unity Connection, CM5.1, and Meetingplace Express 1.2
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Try using LDAP directory service.
To use only the Cisco Unified CallManager database for users, which is the default functionality when you install Cisco Unified CallManager, Release 5.0, create users with End User Configuration to add to the database (password, names, device association, and so forth). Authentication takes place against the information that is configured in Cisco Unified CallManager Administration. End users and administrators can make password changes if this method is used. This method does not entail LDAP synchronization.

  • Private Phrase Password not able to Syncronized with Subscriber

I am trying to install a Call Manager Subscriber Server 4.2(3) but unable to syncronized the private password phrase with Publisher Server. Is there any resolution where we can change the Private Password of server without disturbing the services.I already have 1 subscriber running. I dont to disturb that server any more. Also i am attaching logs of that Server.

You'll need to use the adminutility tool for this.
Caution You must enter the same private password  phrase on all Cisco CallManager servers in a cluster. If you have  forgotten the password phrase, you can use the Admin Utility to reset  it. Please refer to the AdminUtility-Readme.html at C:\Program  Files\Common Files\Cisco\bin.

  • CUE and CallManager

We have successful installed CallManager 6.1.1.3000-2 and we want to integrate CUE version 3.1. We've followed instructions "CallManager for Cisco Unity Express Configuration Example Document ID: 60002" and passed CUE wizard but when we access CUE through gateway and put command "my-cue> show ccn status ccm-manager" we got
"JTAPI Subsystem is not registered with any Call Manager"
Any idea where and what is the problem?
In the attch we posted configuration of CUE and also some information.

I tried this but nothing changed. Also, I found that GUI has the password of JTAPI, but I changed it from CLI. Anyway, the changes didn't make any difference. It looks that is connecting properly with CCM, since all the CTIs are registered, as well as the CTI RP. In addition, I can import users in CUE from CCM using the GUI. This means that it connects and talks properly with CCM. The problem is that if I call "4014" (is the number of VoiceMail), it does nothing for a few seconds and then I'm getting busy signal.
    Any other ideas?

  • 9951 and settings password

    Hi,
I had a 9951 on a callmanager 9.1.2 and I always could get in the administration settings menu of the phone.
The same phone is now registered on a CME 10 and suddenly there is this password to access the administrating settings menu.
In the CME I don't use any password in the SIP configuration (uses MAC for security)
I tried 'cisco' but it doesn't work.
Is there a default password, and how can I disable this password.
Using SCCP phones you can use the "service phone" command
Is there something similar for Cisco SIP phones?
    Thanks,
    JH

    Hello Karthik,
Thank you for your quick reply.
    Yes this is working, thanks.
Can I have the settings menu without password?
It is not really a big problem, just would like to know.
It seems that in CME (10) the default is that the administration menu is password protected, when I reregister the phone on callmanager 9, I can access the menu without password.
    Thanks,
    Jan

  • Password security for the IP phone

I want to secure the IP phone by giving the password so that the ip phone will prompt for the password when ever the user want to make the cal. Please let me know what are the setting for the password security.
    Thanks.

    Hi Lal,
    There is no simple way to do this, but here are two methods that will "Lock down" the IP Phone.Have a look;
The Cisco CallManager Extension Mobility feature allows users to configure any Cisco IP Phone 7940 or Cisco IP Phone 7960 as their own, on a temporary basis, by logging in to that phone. After a user logs in, the phone adopts the user individual user default device profile information, including line numbers,Long distance access, speed dials, services links, and other user-specific properties of a phone. For example, when user A occupies a desk and logs in to the phone, that user's directory number(s), services, speed dials, and other properties appear on that phone; but when user B uses the same desk at a different time, user B's information appears. The Cisco CallManager Extension Mobility feature dynamically configures a phone according to the current user.

    Or you could use Forced Authorization Codes (FAC);
The Forced Authorization Codes (FAC) feature, which allows you to regulate the types of calls that certain users can place, forces the user to enter a valid authorization code on the phone before the call completes.

  • SFTP Server for Callmanager 5.0(4) backup?

What is everyone using for the Backup functionality for Callmanager 5.0(4)? I used to just backup to a network share in 4.1, now that is not an option. Also is there any way to use standard ftp in callmanager 5.0(4) for backups? Any thoughts? I tried to use IIS and it didn't even seem to hit the IIS server.

CCM5 Backup to a Secure FTP Server
Author: Mike Malloy Date: 01/03/2007 Revision: 1
    Introduction
This document describes the basic steps to backup a CCM5 to a Secure FTP (SFTP) server.
CCM5 supports ONLY SFTP to perform network backups!!!
    Tools Needed
Laptop with SFTP Server software - freeFTPd used for this doc.
    Procedure
    Install and configure freeFTPd
    01. Download from http://www.freeftpd.com/ - approx 829M
    02. Install freeFTPd
    - select YES to create keys
    - select NO to run as service
    03. Launch freeFTPd using desktop icon – it will start minimized on System Tray.
    04. Configure freeFTPd
    - add user
    - configure logging
    - verify keys
    - Start the SFTP server
    05. Verify SFTP server running
    06. Right click icon to configure or quit freeFTPd
Configure Storage Location on CCM5 Disaster Recovery System
    01. Use Internet Explorer to Access DRS from CCMAdmin or directly at https://ipaddr/drf
    02. Login name and password is the SERVER login name – NOT the CCMAdministrator.
    03. Configure Network Storage Location
    - if sftp server connection test fails, you?ll see error in Status box
    04. freeFTPd logfile will show possible failure reasons
    - in this case, dir change was unsuccessful due to bad path name
    05. freeFTPd logfile showing successful Storage Location update.
    - Note: login was successful, but it always shows 3 access denied – why?!?!?
    Perform Manual Backup
    01. Start Manual Backup
    02. Watch as tar files are created.
    03. Watch progress bar as tar files are copied to sftp server
    04. Verify backup complete.
Verify files exist on sftp server
My PUB and 1 SUB created 17 files.
    Notes on freeFTPd logfile
!!! Shortly after backup starts see these lines repeated about 3 times

!!! See a few more files uploaded, and then see this sequence repeated about 70 times over a 6 min period ?!?!?
!!! List grows to include files from SUB

    !Manual backup COMPLETE!!!
Watching freeFTPd Online Users shows 1 user logged in from start of backup AND a 2nd user with same name BRIEFLY appears about every 30 secs then disappears?!?!?
