Calls blanking out

I have a blackberry curve 9300 and I have T-mobile... While I am in a call all of a sudden the call blanks out for about 30 sec.. I can't hear anything or can't be heard. My phone is connected to my wireless and also the 3G network. I notice that on the phone it switches between UMA, EDGE, and a few others. Im not even sure what that is and if it has anything to do with it. I don't think that it is T-Mobile because I'm the only one that this happens to.. Its very frustrating! Anyone have any ideas??

The easiest thing you can do to troubleshoot this issue would be backup your device, then do a security wipe on your device. This will remove all data off your device except for the device software. Before you do anything be sure to backup your device.
How to delete all data and applications from the BlackBerry smartphone using the Wipe Handheld option - KB14058
http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14058
Once the wipe is complete, I recommend testing the phone calls and seeing if they still drop or not.
Hope this helps.

  • Screen Saver when calling and need to use the Keypad, the screen saver doesn't detect the phone has left the ear and blanks out the screen.  Even ending a call is difficult as the screen blanks out within seconds

I have to use the Keypad a lot when making calls.  Make the call, the Robot then asks to enter a number for a service, pull the phone down from the ear, the screen may light up for a second, but then the screen saver cuts in, blanking the screen out.  Sometimes you hit the Home Key to awaken the sccreen, enter your number and then back to the ear to hear the next set of instructions.  Back and forth just trying to enter the options is a pain.  Sometimes even trying to end the call, the screen blanks out and you fight to try and end a call.
If I use the Speaker function the keypad works; the speakler phone is not alway appropriate.
It appears that the phone gyro, doesn't detect the phone has moved from the ear to the viewing angle.  This wasn't an issue until recently and I can't remeber if it's the iPhone 5 or one of the updates.  It definitly wasn't there earlier on, as I threw away an Windows 6.5 phone for the same problem.
I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software (design) issue.

It is not the gyro. This has everything to do with the iPhone's prioximity sensor.
Are you using a case that may be blocking or partially blocking the proximity sensor? If you are using the case, remove the case prior to the next call to see if the same occurs without the case.

  • [Solved] Screen blanks out after quitting X

    Hello everyone.
I don't use any login manager such as GDM or Slim, I just start X from the terminal when I need it. However, after installing Arch the last time (new hdd), every time I exit X (XFCE 4 is my window manager) the screen blanks out. I know the system is still responsive, because if I type startx or reboot, it works. Calling startx wakes the monitor again. However, I don't need X all the time, sometimes I prefer not to use it.
I haven't dealt with this before and searching for a solution didn't help - nvidia users used to have this issue until a particular driver update.
However, I have an ATI card (HD 5750) and I use the xf86-video-ati driver.
Appending vga=773 to kernel options changes the resolution (of my ttys) but it doesn't solve the issue.
I'm kind of clueless about how to proceed, so any hints and tips would be welcome.
    Thanks

    Thanks, I missed that repo
The catalyst driver doesn't have the issue, so as far as it works, the issue is resolved.

  • MacBook Pro/Thunderbolt Monitor blanking out

I have a MacBook Pro with 2 Thunderbolt monitors.  My system is connected up like this:
MacBook Pro (running in clamshell mode) -------> Thunderbolt Port on MBP -------> Thunderbolt Display ------> Built in Display Thunderbolt Cable ------>Thunderbolt Display 2.
I also have a Thunderbolt disk drive attached to a thunderbolt port on the back of display 2.
I have a couple of problems every now and then.  At times that second display blanks out for a second.  I have noticed, it is most likely to happen when I put some IO on that thunderbolt disk drive.  It just seems to me like the bandwidth of thunderbolt should be able to handle this.
Secondly.  Sometimes when I boot up, the system considers that second display as the first which screws up my screens.  I usually have to reboot to get it to work right.  I notice that if I boot up with my MBP open, the system always considers the 2nd monitor in the chain the first display. Seems like it would always default to the first monitor.
Any help you could provide would be appreciated,
    Rob

The Thunderbolt drive should be the first device on the chain, with the Displays being the last devices on the chain.
That should solve both of the problems.
If not, call back or post in the Apple Thunderbolt Display forum.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

But you already have an Ipod Touch for 299euro (32GB) and an Iphone 4S for 649 euro (16 GB) and the 2 produchts are not that different just the fact you can text and make phone calls with your Iphone. I was wondering maybe their were more differences
From my perspective, it is a bit like asking "what is the difference between a welding torch and a toaster?  They both can make toast?"  Which is true, but only one can weld steel (and in turn is considerably over the top for just making plain toast).
An iPod Touch and an iPhone may be quite similar in some respects, but at the same time, their differences are drastic, as one can do valuable things that the other is simply incapable of.

  • Blanking out default shopping cart name

    Hi,
I wish to blank out the default shopping cart name when creating a new shopping cart.
I know I can use BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI-BBP_SC_CHANGE to change the field, but since this BADI is called multiple times, is there a way I can determine if it is the first call in create mode? Or is there another way on blanking out the field?
We are looking at SRM 5

    Hi Jon,
SC name is defaulted when creating the SC, in FM BBP_SC_APP_EVENT_DISPATCHER --> FORM sc_init --> FORM sc_create, just before calling BBP_PD_SC_CREATE and its BADI BBP_SC_CHANGE.
    So:
    - either you change this std ABAP code
    - either you have enough data in the BADI to determine that you are in create mode, and not in update mode (no item data, minimum header data)

Any tips are very much appreciated.

Place the iPod Touch into DFU mode.  This will be similar to what the factory would do to install the iOS onto new iOS devices.
Placing it into DFU mode will allow you to "format" and install the current iOS for that device.
To place your iOS device into DFU mode.
First connect you iOS device to you computer.
Open iTunes if not already open
Now turn off your iOS device using the power swipe.
Press the home and sleep button on your iOS device for 10 seconds.
Release the sleep button but carry on holding down the home button.  For another 10 seconds.
Your iOS device should now be on DFU.  Click on restore and iTunes will download the latest iOS for your device.
Hopefully that sorts it if not, you will have to go to a service centre or call Apple Care up and get them to collect it and repair it. (replace it)  Or go into an Apple Store.

  • Blanking out CURR16 values

    Hi,
I have a requirement to blank out the data to be displayed for the currency field (of type CURR16) in case the value retrieved from the database is zero.
(I don't intend displaying "0" to the user).
PS: I cannot convert this currency field to a 'string' type.
Any tips for achieving this would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Adithya

    Hi Adithya,
You can set the attribute to null in the context by calling SET_ATTRIBUTE_NULL at the context node level. Of course, this only applies to WDA.
    Best regards,

  • I just upgraded to Lion 10.7.2 and it says that it will not support Power PC programs so my 2008 version of Mac Office and Intuit Quickbooks are blanked out.  I need these programs.  How do I proceed?

I just upgraded to Lion 10.7.2 and it says that it will not support Power PC programs and has blanked out my 2008 version of MS Office for Mac and Intuit's Quickbooks.  How do I proceed to get these programs back?

Upgrade to newer versions compatible with Lion or downgrade to Snow Leopard:
    Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
    1.  Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.  If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.

How do I play a video in full-screen mode on one screen of a dual-screen Windows 7 system without blanking out the other screen?  Not losing the other screen would be useful as I would like to, for example, monitor my emails whilst watching a video or to work on a project whilst watching an instructional video.
Note : Resizing a window to fill the screen is not acceptable as it still leaves unsightly borders.

  • HT2305 Since updating my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7, my Ipod Shuffle, 3rd generation does not recognize last 3 playlist names; it calls them out as "playlist 3, playlist 4 -- even though in the panel the names are showing just fine. The music

I have recently updated my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7. I have just added three new playlists to my Ipod Shuffle, 3rd generation. On the panel in ITunes in view on the computer, all looks fine and music plays. However, after syncing a million times, when clicking to "hear" the playlists, the voice will call out all the old playlists just fine - except for the 3 new ones I've added; it calls them out as "playlist 3, playlist 8, or "purchased". All software for the ITunes has been updated as of the moment. Why would switching from Vista to Windows 7 cause this frustrating issue? All help appreciated.

From page 23 of your iPod's User Guide: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_shuffle_3rdGen_UG.pdf
If VoiceOver is disabled in iTunes, you hear an abbreviated menu of playlists in numbered order, but not by name (for example, “Playlist 1, Playlist 2,” and so on).
So you'll want to make sure VoiceOver is enabled to correct this.

When changing the AAC on a PO from 'I' to a 'U', for certain price conditions, the GL account gets blanked out. The OME9 setting for both I and U is 'GL account number field is mandatory'. This occurs even when no GR/IR have been performed on the PO. The error message ME083 - 'Enter GL Account' is thrown. Occurs in ME22N and when using BAPI_PO_ChANGE. Is this normal?
    Thanks for your help.
    -Sanjay

I think it is normal.  There is a checkbox 'Derive acct. assgt.' in OME9.  Here is the help text on this field.
If Inventory Management is not active in your system, you must specify (enter) the preliminary account assignments for all the items manually. Setting this indicator enables you to by-pass this step. You will then no longer get the dialog box for the entry of a preliminary account assignment.
You maintain the automatic account assignment specification facility using the Customizing functionality of Financial Accounting under Maintain automatic account determination.
Check the checkbox and see if it solves your issue.  Apparently, checking this checkbox enables fetching the account from Maintain automatic account assignment config. table.
