Sorry to hear that.
As alexdon says, this sounds like it could be network related. Have you been in contact with your operator about this? Does it happen both on GSM only and WCDMA only? You can select this under Settings -> More -> Mobile networks -> network mode.

Since i update my iPhone 5 with IOS 7.0.2, I start to have serious problems to call or receive calls from other telephones: is not possible to open the call at the first try. Somebody have the same problem?
Try
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data -
Suspends fails the first time, but succeeds the second time
Hi all,
I am running Arch Linux on my Dell XPS 15 9530 laptop, and overall I am very happy with the combination. I have however had some issues with suspending.
The problem is that the first time I try to suspend the machine it seems to go to sleep, but then two seconds later it automatically wakes up again. If I then immediately try again to suspend, it works (it does not wake up automatically). Does anyone know what could be going on, and how this can be fixed?
Usually I suspend from my gnome 3 desktop, but I have also tried to suspend directly using 'systemctl suspend' without having an X server running, and the result is exactly the same. I have tried a few versions of the vanilla kernel, but also the linux-lts and the linux-ck images, but to no avail.
Here is the output from dmesg, where suspend fails:

It seems to me like the only real difference has to do with the xhci_hcd errors, perhaps the following:

Any input or help would be highly appreciated.Rexilion wrote:Maybe you could confirm your suspicion by rmmoding xhci before suspend and modprobing it after resume?
Thanks for the response. I should have said so, but I had already tried that, but without any luck. It seems like it doesn't change anything. -
Cant hear on first call but works on second call!
My wife and I both got Xperia Z1's at the start of November.
Recently my wife has been having a problem with her phone.
Nearly every time she calls me I cant hear her but she can hear me. If she hangs up and phones me back it works fine!
Anyone got any ideas why?Its been happening for a few weeks now, only seems to be when she calls me although she doesnt really use the phone to call anybody else. We tried calling other numbers yesterday and it seemed ok and also worked ok when she called me! Maybe it has sorted itself out now

Page won't load on first try -- but stop then reload works
Several pages, most notably my.yahoo.com and worldofwar.net won't load on the first attempt. Eventually I get a timeout error. But while the load is trying, if I stop loading manually, then reload, the page finishes loading. It's then fine, until the next wake up after sleep, and it starts all over again.
I'm also noticing something similar with mail. When I send mail, it goes into the outgoing folder and I get an error that the message couldn't be sent. But if I exit mail and restart it, the pending message is sent without my having to do anything other than restart mail.
Any clues what to look for? This only began to happen after I moved. The only difference in my configuration is that I'm using a new DSL modem and dynamic IP address from my ISP now, where I was using a static address before with an older model modem.
I've checked the console logs, before/during/after observing the problem, and no new entries are made.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I cant make any phone calls.
I have full network coverage, 3G access and internet. SMS + MMS + emails work.
I can receive phone calls and I have taken out the sim card and inserted it again.
Nothing works. What should I do ?Nothing was wrong on their side. I have restored the phone. It is working now. Weird ...

Unhandled exception when code runs for the first time,but works fine the second
Hi All,
I have the following code snippet
private void RGL_Click(object sender, RibbonControlEventArgs e)
Word._Document oDoc;
oDoc = Globals.ThisAddIn.Application.ActiveDocument;
object start = oDoc.Content.Start;
object end = oDoc.Content.End;

oDoc.Range(ref start, ref end).NoProofing = 0;
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.ReadabilityStatistic DocStats;
DocStats = oDoc.ReadabilityStatistics[10];------>exception occurs here when code runs first time
MessageBox.Show(DocStats.Name + " " + DocStats.Value);
When I copy paste a document and click on the button it raises a COM exception but if I click continue and click on the button again, the correct grade level score is displayed.Cant figure out why this is happening.Thanks for the answer Eugene, this exception never shows up if I type something and click on the rgl button , but if i open a huge document that is already in Canadian english and click on this ribbon it gives me the following exception

So, I've been working on a project with video that has two audio tracks, and they play fine in the preview window in premiere, but as soon as I export them, the first clip of it works, but the second clip I have does not have the second audio track, just the first. If anyone could shed some light on whats going on that would be great. Also, I tried using media encoder, in which I couldn't hear either of the audio tracks.
Hi incinirate,

That's rather strange. Sorry to hear that.
Where did these files originate? From a video camera, screen capture, webcam, or mobile device? What is the format of these files? More details on your system, OS, version of Premiere Pro, etc., please.
Thanks,

Workspace page doesn't render on the first attempt, but on the second
We have a clustered environment where users log into the Big IP load balancer. Local users are able to access the Workspace URL without a problem from within the company. Users out of state and out of the country are not able to connect successfully on the first attempt about 85% of the time, but are able to on the second attempt after killing their browser session. Their session just hangs without rendering the login screen on the first attempt. They are usually able to log in without a problem the rest of that day. We have performed some tests and asked a few users to bypass the load balancer and hit the servers directly, and they have a better success rate of receiving the log in screen.
I am a local user and this is also an issue when trying to connect remotely to the Workspace page. It eventually times out and I receive the following message:
"_execScript::Error loading file './js/com/hyperion/bpm/web/common/format/Format.js' Error The operation was timed out".
Has anyone ever experienced this issue? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!Hello L Swarz,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when downloading your purchased song to your iPod nano.
I am not sure if you have tried these specific steps, but I recommend downloading the purchased song to iTunes on your computer using the steps in the following article:

I have MacBook Pro running 10.7. In my main user account I've recently had major issues with several applications. Word quits on startup, pdf files quit on startup, the latest iPhoto application quits when attemping to send email with photos from iPhoto.
I set up a second user account and all the issues went away. Can anyone explain why such bugs are present in one user account by not the more recent one?
ThanksIn your wife's account:
Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
*What's the plist file?*
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

Just bought a refurbished Mac Pro and it never boots the first try, (always on the second try,) if it's been turned off for awhile. It clicks and spins a couple times, but no chime and no display. So I hold the power button until it shuts off, then it will boot normally the second attempt.
Another clue, although audio is set to the sound card, the chime is through the onboard speaker when it does boot first time. It seems like the config is lost until power can be applied. Is there a battery power to the mother board missing possibly?
Is this a known problem? Is there a fix? I read many similar complaints on the web. I have had so many problems getting this computer ordered, now it arrives and is broken, very bummed that Apple cannot get my order correct multiple times, then at last sends me a 'broken' computer
thanks
tdFor all of you who may come accross this thread - I have a solution, even though the thread is a bit old.
I have a refurbished Mac Pro Early 2009 and it also never booted on the first try (identical to tduncan). I brought it to the Apple genius bar to get it fixed, they replaced the start button components. When I got home, the very same problems appeared. After several calls to Apple support (I had purchased the extended warranty) and a return to the Apple store again for repairs, the problem still was not resolved. I gave up and simply accepted that it was either the video card (NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB) as had been suggested in some help forums or still a problem with the start button. I started leaving the Mac Pro on all the time, and when I did turn it off, I knew that I would have to let it try to boot up, let it stall, then restart the process by turning off and turning on the Mac Pro again. Aside from this irritation, the Mac Pro runs really well, and I have upgraded it a lot over the past 2 years.
Long story short, I ended up keeping an old PC to play one of my favourite games (Mech Warrior 3 and 4) and one day, the PC started acting up. After a lot of frustration (which is why I left the Windows world), I ended up replacing the internal battery and everything was fine.
I came accross this thread yesterday, and the suggestion from Limnos about the weak PRAM battery reminded me of the old PC and how it ran perfectly after replacing the motherboard battery for the timer. Today, I purchased a new internal backup battery at a local Canadian Tire, swapped batteries and instantly, the problem was resolved. I have tested it several times today, and the pattern of "2 tries" to start is definetely broken
Funny though that the Genius bar didnt figure this - sometimes it's the little things that are overlooked! I am posting this just in case anyone else runs into a similar situation!
Cheers

I can drag my first clip from the New Event window into the Project Library, but not the second. I can highlight the second clip in the New Event window, but it won't "drag". The "E" key works for the first clip, but not the second.I've been using IMovie daily and the problem just appeared. No upgrades to the computer and no new software installed. IMovie 9.0.9 and OSX 10.8.5
Thanks victoryhat. I learned some new things from this very clear tutorial. But it didn't answer my question about why the titles don't stay with the video when I export it.
He did mention something that might be a clue however. When he talked about importing a title he created as an image, he noted that he was careful to make the image the same size as the video he was adding it to: 1280 x 720. Since I took the video with an iPhone in the vertical position, my video image isn't the same size and orientation as the titles.
Maybe there is a way I should be setting the screen for this size??? I'll go back and play around. Meanwhile thanks for alerting me to Gary Rosenzweig's MacMost tutorials. Very clear. I'll look for more. -
I have a 2011 tahoe. My bluetooth functioned properly until I updated my iPhone. Now the iPhone connects to the Tahoe but when I try to call a number it does not work. Either it cals the number and has no outgoing or incoming sound or it just says it iis unable to complete the call.
I would check with the Auto dealer where the vehicle was purchased to check and see when the bluetooth software was last updated on your vehicle. With the vehicle being a 2011 and if the software has not been updated since the dropping of IOS 7 then obviously there will be software incompatibilities.
Good luck. -
PDF Embed only works on the first try
Hi everyone,
i've finally got it. The PDF Embed worked on my Reports Server.
But a strange thing is happening.
When I start the Reports Server and run the report for the first time everything works just fine, but when I try to run the report again i receive the following error:
REP-1923: PDF Font Embed error
The report doesn't works again until I stop and restart the Reports Server. And again after i run the report for the first time it doesn't works anymore until new restart.
I'm using Oracle 9iAS (9.0.2.1) with 2703110 and 2842923 patches installed.
The system is Red Hat Linux 7.3.
The uifont.ali file:
#===============================================================
[ Global ] # Put mappings for all surfaces here.
# Mapping from MS Windows
Arial = helvetica
"Courier New" = courier
"Times New Roman" = times
Modern = helvetica
"MS Sans Serif" = helvetica
"MS Serif" = times
"Small Fonts" = helvetica
[ PDF:Embed ]
# This example shows how to embed Type 1 helvetica font into the PDF file:
# helvetica = "helvetica.afm helvetica.pfa"
# You need to specify the .afm file before the .pfa file.
# The font files must exist in one of the folders specified in REPORTS_PATH.
helvetica = "I2501P.afm I2501P.pfa"
The Font I'm using is I2501P (a bar code font).
The I2501P.afm I2501P.pfa files are located in $ORACLE_HOME/reports/samples/demo. This directory is on $REPORTS_PATH.
The reports is being called by this URL:

Anybody can help??
Thank you all.
