Calls not coming through, text messages not being sent
My Note 2 has been acting up the last several days, and since I use this phone as my primary business line. My text messages are hit & miss when sending/receiving, and when clients calls - i pick up, and NOTHING. and when i try to call back - NOTHING.. just silence, not even a ring. What gives?
Why is my phone doing this? This is frustrating.
There is two things to try.
1) hold down the power button and the large center button until the iPhone resets. ( hard reset) if that corrects the problem all is well. http://m.wikihow.com/Hard-Reset-an-iPhone
2) go into settingshttp://ipod.about.com/od/iphonetroubleshooting/ht/Factory-Reset-Iphone-4.htm which is a total reset of the device. Then it takes you through the set up process again. You will need your apple id and password. You will also have to click on the phone icon, voicemail and follow the set up prompts. Under settings mail ,cntacts and calendars you then enter your email settings again. You will want to turn on imessage in the settings. Your apps can be reloaded either via iTunes on a computer or from the Apps Store on the device, under purchased, not on this iPhone.
All this is on the phones manual under Safari. Or online owners manual.

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and below the Start New Conversations From, select your cell phone number instead of your Apple ID email address. -
Since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS5, it seems my texts are being sent as e-mails or in e-mail form. The person I am texting gets a phone number and not my name. Also, when I click on contacts to text to, where it used to show the phone number and I would touch the number to text, it just shows the persons name, no phone#.

KerrySettings > Messages > Send and Received > Uncheck any number/email that does not belong to the device
Note: The little blue (>) will give you an option to remove the number/email from the device

So I updated to iOs 6 (4s phone) and today all the text messages I received were also sent to my son's 4s as well (he is on iOs 6 now too) ***??? Can anyone help me out on this one?????
Did you by chance give your son your old iphone 4s and activate a new iphone 4s? If so, you may need to contact your carrier or wait the period of time required for it to finally switch.

My wife and I's iphone 4s' are both on the same computer. When we did the new upgrade to ios6 it started sending text messages to both of us from each other. For example I sent my wife a text "Hey" and then my phone received a message from Me "Hey." Another example is that a friend sent my wife a text and both of us received it from that friend, but not in a group message. We both deleted our icloud account and the problem still happened. Then we checked that we were both signed in to our own personal accounts for imessage and we were. After turning off imessage the problem went away. Any ideas on how to make imessage work without having it send messages to both of us?
I also have the same problem and changed the send & receive addresses . But it always seems to revert back to 2 addresses/numbers on the second , my wifes phone . Which isn't the best .

I am on a Galaxy S4. Sending text as usually, recipient gets an email of the text. Is is my settings or theirs? What needs to be changed?
Are you entering their name from your contact list to send the text? Or typing in their phone number? The email may be what's being populated by default when you pull their name from the contact list, if that's how they have replied to you previously, or how you sent your last message to them. Try manually typing in their phone number in the To: field and see if it sends as a text or as an email when you do that.

With IOS7 I am finding it impossible to (a) tell which number I am texting, when my contacts have multiple phone numbers, i dont know wether it si their home , monile/cell or international number... How do i differnetiate or know which number it is, especially when they text me from abrioad and i replying ...its not very clear adn has cost me extra in international charges
Thanks Michael. Apologies for the slow reply I was away for a bit (holiday blitz at work and visiting family madness etc.etc.) back now, I set both options you requested to "never " and retried the CMS software with no change.
I do have progress of a sort though, as a test I took a separate test PC and put a clean install of Win7 on and loaded up the CMS software (it worked perfectly) and then took the version of ole32.dll off that machine and put it onto the computer I had built
for her (using Linux) and...
got a new error code. Darn I was so sure I had found a clever solution this time lol.
Anyway now when the CMS fails it gives me a similar error but the offending module is "ntdll.dll" sooo... I tried taking the "working" version of ntdll.dll from the test box and moving it over (making sure to back up the existing ones
first so I could put them back if needed) to her new PC and the PC would not boot.
It seems to want the original versions of a few Dynamic Link Libraries and if I could somehow give it those while not breaking Win7 it should theoretically work seeing as it no longer errors with ole32.dll.
ntdll.dll however seems necessary for Win7 to boot.
So what I am wondering now is:
Is there some way to have both versions of the DLL file in the system32 folder (bypassing the "cannot have two files with the exact same name in the same folder" thing) or rename the original DLL's something else and somehow make the CMS look for
the new named versions so the system has the updated DLL's it needs to boot/run and the CMS has the old ones it wants to run or is there someway to have a self contained install of the CMS, say on a USB flash drive and give it it's own E:/windows/system32/needed
dll's path to the files it needs?
Willing to try any other options or settings you may have come up with as well.

International Texting - Messages not being sent.
I maintain regular contact with somebody overseas, and we have used internatonal texting often on a daily basis for the past few years. Recently, most of my messages have stopped coming through. Yesterday afternoon, I sent five consecutive text messages. The reciever did not get anything until this morning, and it was only one of the five messages I sent. The rest seem to have been lost (I'm ommitting the fact that the message that WAS recieved, was missing the last two characters a minor gripe).
Knowing this, I re-sent one of the five messages that was lost but 45 minutes later, it still did not come through. I then dialed *228 and updated my roaming capabilities, as it was recommended here. I sent another, fresh, short text message but this one was not received either.
I am texting somebody in Poland. This has worked (as far as I know) without a hitch for a long time, and I still receive every message that is sent to me.
1) I would like to know how to fix this.
2) I would like to know if I'm being charged for every text message that Verizon fails to send?That's strange that it would stop all of a sudden. Did either of you add an app or change anything?
I would try deleting each other as a contact, then one of you try to send a message to the other using the full 10-digit number. If that is successful, add the contact back from the received message, and then REPLY to that message so the other can add from the received message.
Something may have happened to corrupt one or both contacts so things are messed up. By deleting (then reboot the phone) and adding back in it may solve the issue.

I just downloaded OS X Mavericks and my texts are not coming through to my Mac at all. How do i change that??
Open Messages. Then go to the Menu and click on Messages. In the drop down select Preferences. Choose the accounts tab. If you have already added your iCloud account then remove it and add it again.

0CSM_USER_TEXT Text not coming through to PSA
Hi,
I install a standard data source 0CSM_USER_TEXT to extract data from ECC to BI.
RSA3 extraction gives the username and text. But the text info not coming to BW. Not even to PSA. The only user that has the text is for the userid ALEREMOTE.
This is the case in Dev and Production system. Everything is fine in quality system. It must be something related to authorization.
I see some people facing the issue but no one posted the proper solution.
Appreciate if some one can help.
Regardstext messages aren't supposed to come through on iPads.

Hi have the subscription for unlimited calling to both the U.S and Canada. My calls are coming through from U.S landlines and mobiles but when someone from Canada tries calling all they get is a beeping noise. Can someone please help me.

If you have the Unlimited USA & Canada subscription, you should be able to call telephones in both countries. If someone is trying to call you, are they calling you directly to your Skype account name? Did you also purchase an Online number , so people without Skype can call your Skype account from a telephone? Purchasing that subscription by itself does not provide a way to receive calls from telephones.

I have tried to send photos through text messaging and it will not send. I thought my iPhone 3 was giving out so I got my iPhone 4 last night and still can't send photos through text message. What is the deal??
Also MMS is supported on a carrier by carrier basis. While mostly every carrier does support ths feature make sure that your carrier allows this functionality.

Some text messages not received or are empty, I have been using the Verizon app because I like it but I have also seen issues with Textra. Basically some messages have been empty but last night I sent a text to someone and it sent and delivered and the person never got it. I have wifi enabled at home which was where it happened and I do use a network extender due to the weak coverage but I have a great signal with it and voice was clear last night since I received a call, is anyone else having issues?
I am using Nova Launcher which shouldn't matter. Everything else works great and I love the phone.
ThanksI, too, have been having many problems with not receiving text messages. I have been dealing with this crap for 6 weeks now!! I don't receive texts from various people, and it is very sporadic. It shows in their sent box, but NEVER shows up in my inbox. I have talked to about 8 different reps from VW and they keep coming up with excuses. We have tried EVERYTHING! They have even sent me a different phone and I am still having this problem. I just got off the phone (again!) with them and they are sending me ANOTHER phone. I have asked to get out of my contract with no ETF, but, of course, they won't allow that to happen. They keep telling me that I "have to work with them"!! Like I haven't given them several chances already! My job is in jeopardy because my boss texted me something; I never received it; and he was NOT happy!! He told me to "get the problem fixed"...I don't feel VW is living up to their end of the contract and I feel like I am paying a lot of money every month for an unreliable service. I am pursuing reporting this to the FCC. Needless to say, I got very angry with the last 2 people I have spoken with at VW and used some colorful language! Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do next (before I lose my job!!)!!

When using spotlight search my phone will not show all text messages with a common word even though I have not deleted any messages from my phone and I have the message search turned on in settings under spotlight search. The search only shows the messages that are recent within the past day or so. Why won't it show the other messages when I search for them even using a specific word that I know was in the message I'm searching for.

It sounds like you are not getting notifications for new text messages that are coming in, and you must manually check the app. I recommend checking the Notification settings to see if they are configured correctly:
