Calls to invalid extension over an ICT reroute via the backup pstn.

Hello
we have several CUCM clusters all linked via ICT's and all bar 1 will return a call cannot be completed as dialled if a user dials the correct site id (XXX) but an invalid or unused 4 digital extension number.
the 1 that does not work will re route the call via the backup pstn route list. of cause the call just rings but why is it doing this? any ideas. i have tried a few google searches but cannot identify the cause of the problem
CUCM v 9.1.2 > ICT > CUCM 7.1.2
Thank you
c.

hello
all my route patterns over ict's have a backup route to prefix the national/int dial code and to route out of the pstn in case of a wan outage.
the promblem im have on just this one link is that if i dial a valid dn the call goes over the ict and it connects. however if i dial an unused dn the call goes over the ict but instead of getting a call cannot be completed as dialled, the call just re-routes via the pstn and just rings.
any ideas why this would happen?
thanks

  • Invalid Extension error help needed...

Forgive me, but I'm no where close to being cisco savvy in anyway, but I need some help.  I'm the only IT guy for a company of roughly 100 employees.  I have been given the responsibility of administrating the phone and voicemail system.  Needless to say, I'm sort of learning as I go.  Anyway, when people dial into our 800 number they first choose 1 or 2 for english or spanish.  After that selection they can press 1 to enter an extension.  Some extensions however are coming up with a message saying you have dialed an invalid extension and then they are forwarded to the operator.  I know those extensions exist, so I'm guessing I'm missing some rather obvious setting.  We have Cisco Unity 4.0 Build 4.0(4).  I'm not sure if any other info is needed but I'd be glad to provide it.  Thanks in advance.

Cool.  I can work with that.  Do me a favor first.  Go here: http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/PortStatusMonitorCUC7x/Help/Connection%20Remote%20Port%20Status%20Monitor.html
Read up on this tool and read the Help file as well.  You can use it to call into Unity and when your call hits a port - you'll see it and be able to "watch" what Unity is doing as you progress thru the call.  It may not lead to exactly what's going on but 1) it can be educational and 2) it can help verify what Unity is seeing and doing compared to what you think should occcur.

  • How does Tandberg Gatekeeper call Call Manager SCCP extensions

Am I missing something here? I have CUCM 8.6 with h225 trunk built to Tandberg Gatekeeper (works fine). I have two Tandberg 150 video endpoints that are registered to the Tandberg Gatekeeper, extensions 8001 and 8002 (alias is what you call it I guess). The video enpoints can dial eachother by their extensions and work fine. The CUCM SCCP phones can dial extension 8001 and 8002 and ring the video phones to make voice only calls, which is fine. Had to build route patterns/lists/groups for this. How the heck do you dial a CUCM SCCP phone, like extension 1450 from the Tandberg video endpoint? Theres nothing in the Tandberg Gatekeeper to configure to route this call from a Tandberg Gateeper registerd phone to the Call Manager SCCP phone. This is just a simple lab setup.

    Anthony,
Its interesting you say that because that is the total opposite of my experience.  I'm currently working on a CME 9.5 to Exchange 2013 deployment where most users have DIDs.
When a call comes in to the extension to which the DID points, and the call rolls over to Exchange typically we receive a message stating that there is no mailbox associated with the extension because Exchange is reading the first diversion header information
(Wireshark shows two headers and the DID is always numbered 1) which has the DID number rather than the redirecting extension.  I've had to either add the last 3 digits of the DID to the users mailbox or manually transform the SIP INVITE diversion header
    to get around this problem.

  • Is it possible to pick up an incoming call from an extension that is not physically ringing?

Is there a way to pick up an incoming call from an extension that is not physically ringing?
For  example if an incoming call was ringing at EXT 1019 and  they were away from their desk momentarily, could the call be picked up  from another extension by pressing a number sequence or something?
we are using UC560. if you could tell in detail how it can be setup(config) and how it will work.Thank you in advance.

Here is the inof for the Call Manager Express.
    Enabling Call Pickup
To enable Call Pickup features on SCCP or SIP phones, perform the following steps.
    Prerequisites
•SIP phones require Cisco Unified CME 7.1 or a later version.
•The PickUp and GPickUp soft keys display by default on supported SCCP and SIP phones. If previously disabled, you must enable these soft keys with the softkeys idle command.
    Restrictions
•SIP phones that do not support the PickUp and GpickUp soft keys must use feature access codes (FACs) to access these features.
•Different directory numbers with the same extension number must have the same Pickup configuration.
•A directory number can be assigned to only one pickup group.
•Pickup group numbers can vary in length, but must have unique leading digits. For example, if you configure group number 17, you cannot also configure group number 177. Otherwise a pickup in group 17 is always triggered before the user can enter the final 7 for 177.
•Calls from H.323 trunks are not supported on SIP phones.
    SUMMARY STEPS
    1. enable
    2. configure terminal
    3. telephony-service
    4. service directed-pickup [gpickup]
    5. fac {standard | custom pickup {direct | group | local} custom-fac}
    6. exit
    7. ephone-dn dn-tag [dual-line | octo-line]
    or
    voice register dn dn-tag
    8. pickup-group group-number
    9. pickup-call any-group
    10. end
    DETAILED STEPS
    Command or Action
    Purpose
    Step 1
    enable
    Example:
    Router> enable
    Enables privileged EXEC mode.
    •Enter your password if prompted.
    Step 2
    configure terminal
    Example:
    Router# configure terminal
    Enters global configuration mode.
    Step 3
    telephony-service
    Example:
    Router(config)# telephony-service
    Enters telephony-service configuration mode.
    Step 4
    service directed-pickup [gpickup]
    Example:
    Router(config-telephony)# service directed-pickup gpickup
Enables Directed Call Pickup and modifies the function of the GPickUp and PickUp soft keys.
•gpickup—(Optional) Enables using the GPickUp soft key to perform Directed Call Pickup on SCCP phones. This keyword is supported in Cisco Unified CME 7.1 and later versions.
•This command determines the specific soft keys used to access different Call Pickup features on SCCP and SIP phones. For a description, see the service directed-pickup command in the Cisco Unified CME Command Reference.
    Step 5
    fac {standard | custom pickup {direct | group | local} custom-fac}
    Example:
Router(config-telephony)# fac custom pickup group #35
Enables standard FACs or creates a custom FAC or alias for Pickup features on SCCP and SIP phones.
•standard—Enables standard FACs for all phones. Standard FAC for Park Retrieval is **10.
    •custom—Creates a custom FAC for a feature.
•custom-fac—User-defined code to dial using the keypad on an IP or analog phone. Custom FAC can be up to 256 characters and contain numbers 0 to 9 and * and #.
    Step 6
    exit
    Example:
    Router(config-telephony)# exit
    Returns to privileged EXEC mode.
    Step 7
    ephone-dn dn-tag [dual-line | octo-line]
    or
    voice register dn dn-tag
    Example:
    Router(config)# ephone-dn 20 dual-line
    or
    Router(config)# voice register dn 20
    Enters directory number configuration mode.
    Step 8
    pickup-group group-number
    Example:
    Router(config-ephone-dn)# pickup-group 30
    or
    Router(config-register-dn)# pickup-group 30
Creates a pickup group and assigns the directory number to the group.
•group-number—String of up to 32 characters. Group numbers can vary in length but must have unique leading digits. For example, if there is a group number 17, there cannot also be a group number 177.
•This command can also be configured in ephone-dn-template configuration mode and applied to one or more ephone-dns. The ephone-dn configuration has priority over the template configuration.
    Step 9
    pickup-call any-group
    Example:
    Router(config-ephone-dn)# pickup-call any-group
    or
    Router(config-register-dn)# pickup-call any-group
Enables a phone user to pickup ringing calls on any extension belonging to a pickup group by pressing the GPickUp soft key and asterisk (*).
•The ringing extension must be configured with a pickup group using the pickup-group command.
•If this command is not configured, the user can pickup calls in other groups by pressing the GPickUp soft key and dialing the pickup group number.
    Step 10
    end
    Example:
    Router(config-ephone-dn)# end
    or
    Router(config-register-dn)# end
    Exits configuration mode.
    Examples
The following example shows the Group Pickup and Local Group Pickup features enabled with the service directed-pickup gpickup command. Extension 1005 on phone 5 and extension 1006 on phone 6 are assigned to pickup group 1.

  • Thanks this was very useful.. I have a brand new iphone 4s unlocked version from singapore and I am having the same problem constant network fluctuations, no service, call failed, invalid sim, sim failure, bars fluctuating from 5 - 3 - 2 - 1, no signal/ba

I have a brand new iphone 4s unlocked version from singapore and I am experiencing constant network fluctuations on my iphone , no service, call failed, invalid sim, sim failure, bars fluctuating from 5 - 3 - 2 - 1, no signal/bars searching etc... Ifeel miserable after trying out all the options changed multiple sims, tried multiple carriers, restored the phone back and have set-up as new device but the problem does not get solved... its is so frustrating that after investing on a world's most expensive phone you cannot enjoy the calling features which the phone offers which is the main thing you own the phone for.. Rest of the things are working.. The funniest part I am not able to make calls or receive calls but can access the internet..  I have tried every possible thing and really very frustrated with this iphone of mine...I hope the problem gets solved.. would anyone have any solutions to this problem.. Does it mean one should never update software as I hear that after updating to IOS.5.1 the problem has started coming and same has been with there.... Apple says its a hardware failure which is very difficult to digest as sometimes I get 5 bars and able to make and receive calls but 95% of the time I am unable to. If anyone has any solution I will be very happy if he or share can share the same. Many thanks. its so disgusting to experience this on top of this apple does not support global warranty for the phone as you need to go to the country from where you bought the phone for replacement.. Truly sad state of affairs.. very very very dissappointing.

Have a look at this it might help

  • A search engine called DynaSearch has taken over fire fox without my permission

I think My brother has attacked my computer, he found my note book and i now have 160 spam when I had only about ten before, and even an xxx dating service used my daughters name to make me click to their site, saying," Sheila has a message for you". Since then fire fox started crashing every ten minutes, and now it's not crashing because a site called DynaSearch has taking over the usual Google trademark that used to apesr on my page, this is a search engine that has taken over Fire Fox without my permission correct. How do I get Fire Fox back, and get them off.

Ive tried almost EVERYTHING and i still cant track my iPod that was recently stolen. Ive called apple been all over the website and still no way of tracking it. What are some other ways!?

Only the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • Call ended - invalid phone number

Skype keeps telling me I am entering an invalid phone number. I have tried several time without success. I have credit in my account that I cannot use. I am talking of a landline in Chile here not even a cell phone.
The message "call ended - invalid phone number" appears every time I try to call a number that I have called regularly for the past year. Don't know why it stopped working or how to remedy it. I have tried dialing from my contacts list as well as dialing directly.
Sometimes (not always) other numbers in the same city seem to work making it a selective issue.
    I can't figure out what's wrong.
This matter has been popping up since last year and no one in the bloody company of Skype has been able to supply a proper response in the community area or at least an instruction to fix it for ever more.
If any of these seems familiar to you it's because I cut and paste messages of different people having the same problem although with no solution at hand

I am having the same issue. I have checked for updates, but it says I have the most up-to-date version, I have checked my subscription, no problems there, I even have almost $15 in credit in addition to an unlimited monthly subscription. I think the problem started when Microsoft started messing with Skype. I am going to be asking for a refund on my credit and the past several months of my subscription if this issue can't be resolved. It won't work from either of my laptops, PS3, iPhone or iPad... Thier billing still seems to be working though, they charge me every month even though I can't use the service. I have sent messages to thier support as well but have not heard a word back. Any suggestions? Have already uninstalled and re-installed a few times...

  • Error calling external web service over HTTPS

    Hi everyone
I'm trying to call an external web service over HTTPS, and continually get the following error:
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.wsdl.exceptions.WSDLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: handshake failure
I haven't tried doing this before, so not quite sure where to start. I have a client certificate that must be used to access the remote web service, and I think the problem is associating the client cert with the web service call.
Has anyone else tried this before? Any suggestions of where to look?
I've had a brief look at Key Storage in NWA, but it's not something I'm familiar with - so not sure if it's even the right place to be looking.
Some help on this would be great!
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Thanks Aleksandar
Here's the output from the trace. Unfortunately the SAP forums don't allow attachments, so it may be difficult to read. Please let me know if you see anything that may help.
    Thanks

I'm trying to do licensing app according to this article http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/android-licensing-native-extensions.html.

  • IPCC extension doesn't ring when agent on a call on primary extension

    Hi everyone.
Hopefully this is a nice easy question. Our CCX agents have both a primary and IPCC extension.
The trouble is, when the agent is on a call on their primary extension, if they're selected by the CSQ, the call stays reserved and doesn't actually ring the handset. So the agent doesn't have the opportunity to disconnect the (non-IPCC) call they're on. This is reflecting badly in their stats.
Is this the expected behaviour? I wondered if it was because technically they are busy, just not 'IPCC busy'. If this is what should happen by default, can this be overridden?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Hi Chris, thank you very much for replying to my query.
Yes everything works fine when the agents are not on the primary line. I've also verified the ring settings and they look as they should. Looking at the line settings, for both they are set to busy trigger of 2, and max calls 4.
I've since found out some more information. Our helpdesk re-created the issue, in that test we had three agents available. One user was asked to use their primary line, which they did and kept active. The appropriate trigger for that CSQ was called from an external mobile. A few calls were made, until it ended up being queued. For the agent that had their primary extension active, on their agent desktop they could see the call reserved for them, however they could not retrieve the call at all. Apparently the stats are being affected because we have an SLA of answering the phone within 10 seconds, from what I've been told, it looks like it's been ringing for long than that while the agent is reserved.
I've only just been informed about this issue, and one question I had was if the user could retrieve the call if they then hung up the primary line, but they unfortunately didn't test that as of yet. I'm awaiting word back when they can.
    Thanks again for your help!
    Scott

i'm still looking for solution, but if i there is no solution so i will throw My Own iPhone 4S in the nearest Trash.
(I had got a big problem and thanks for Nokia saved me. and if i don't care about apple products i will never send to you this, so kindly find solution or people in middle east will stop using iphone)

No clue why you cannot make video calls over your cellular operator... have you tried contacting them?
If you're referring to FaceTime, it is currently limited to Wi-Fi only.
Sending files via Bluetooth is not a supported feature of the iPhone or iOS.  A simple search of the web or these forums would have made that abundantly clear.
Threatening to throw away valuable items in these forums only serves to make you look less than intelligent.  No one here is an Apple employee, we are all users like yourself.  As such, we could care less what you do.  If you choose to be stupid, that's up to you.
    Educate yourself and stop whining.

Possibly something you consented to install with some free program. Or a virus.
Google doesn't pick the name up, are you sure you didn't make a typo? If you're really interested, you could try to find the add-on's files in your profile (see [[Profiles]], then "extensions" folder, then the folder with install.rdf file inside containing the name you see in the add-ons window) and check its source or post it somewhere and try to get someone to look at it.
