Camcorder under $450 to work with firewire and G5
So confused on camcorders available that are easily compatible. Went thru list on Apple site and the ones that fit my budget are not compatible with my system. Any suggestions? I want a tapeless model hopefully with memory stick or hard drive. I need it easy to operate to film my kids sports.
With the info supplied it's hard to make a judgement.
Sounds like you have a G5 PPC?
Hard drive/tapeless type cameras require Intel equipped Macs for use and they should shoot AVCHD and can consume up to 40 gig per hour hard drive space.
That being said you can use third party applications to convert your footage to make AVCHD or other formats conform.
I'd suggest a mini DV _tape based_ camera would be most suitable for you Mac and also the course of least resistance when it comes to editing and storage.
Where are you going to store your tapeless files in the long term once you clear the card/drive?
Mini DV tape can be stored, has a known track record and is inexpensive and will work directly with any Mac.

How did you buy iPhoto? Did it come preinstalled on your computer with Lion or later, or did it come with Snowleopard on system installer disks?
Which version of iPhoto?
If you have a version of iPhoto '11 and it is showing on the Purchased tab of the App Store, with your Apple ID, then delete iPhoto from the Applications folder (don't empty the Trash) and download iPhoto again from the Purchased tab.
If that does not work, contact The App Store Support from the Quick Links on the AppStore main page.
Only apple Support can fix problems with apple ID. -
I have interface M Audio 400 with 400 firewire new Mac Pro has firewire 800 Do you think an adaptor will provide the same quality? Will the M audio 400 work with lion and new system or do I need new software? Thanks so much
If you have a little Firewire adaptor, everything should work fine. It does on my system.

FaceTime no longer working with Yosemite and IOS 8.1
I have used FaceTime flawlessly for some time with no issue.
After I upgraded to Yosemite on my MacBookAir and IOS8.1 on 5S and iPad air, I've had a problem connecting.
When I get a call, all the devices ring (as they should) but it will not connect on the first device I pick up on. It says connecting
but all the other devices keep ringing and finally it says I have a missed call. The connection does not happen. If I turn off

She said she turned off "everything" on her computer and iPhone (WiFi, Bluetooth, "Allow handoff" under Preferences/General) and then rebooted both the iPhone and the computer. She then turned everything back on. This worked for her. So we tried the same thing on my MBP and iPhone 6. Now continuity works partially. Email activity is mirrored on both the MBP and the iPhone regardless of which device initiates the continuity activity. But Safari activity on the computer is mirrored on the iPhone but not in the opposite direction. There is no continuity function for Pages in either direction. The telephone connectivity works fine on all of my devices– 3 MBPs, Mac Pro, iPad Air, 2nd gen iPad and 3rd gen iPad.

Handoff not working with Yosemite and iOS 8
I have three Macbook Pros in my household. Two are mid 2012 models and the other a late 2012 model. Each is supposed to support the handoff feature of Yosemite and ios8. Everything seems to work properly between my daughter's late 2012 MBP and her iPhone 6. But on the other two MBPs in our family the continuity feature does not work on either of them. Receiving and sending calls works fine. But the continuity does not work even though all three MBPs and all three iPhone 6 are on the same wifi network.
I've tried all the suggestions that I could find. Toggling off and on the various settings on the MBPs and the iPhones.

I have designed one web dynpro application. Now I want to work on this application through DTR. Means i want to do versioning and all. How to work with DTR..? I have gone through lot of blogs and help available in SDN but i am unable to understand how to work with it.
One more thing how to work with CBS. How to configure CBS. I have NWDS latest version 7.0.7. In window perspective i am unable to find JDI. can any one please explain me if u have worked on this with example

For you to work with DTR and CBS, firstly u will have to configure JDI on server.

In Nutshell, following steps will be performed:
1) logon to Portal Devinf.
2) click on CMS
3) Go to landscape configurator
4) create domain
5) create tracks and add Software components in that track
6) runtime systems ( dev/qa etc are configured
7) in the transport studio, all the files listed are checked in through check - in tab.
8) they move to developement tab.
Once all these things are done, in your NWDS:
1) Setting the devbox host name and server port in Window -> Preferences -> SAP
J2EE Engine
2) Setting Portal URL in Window -> Preferences -> JDI -> DC Pool and ping server,
to check whether server is getting accessed from NWDS.
3) Once server is set, login to DTR and go to DTR perspective. Create a client there, by doing a right click and filling up the required details.
4) In the DC perspective, in the Local DCs view, perform import configuration.
5) the dev track is not configured
6) Under this, after logging into DTR, now you can create your project, check them in and create new versions.

So I'm editing a live concert and the director wanted to work with iPhones and DSLRs so I asked them to all film in 30fps (as iPhones only do NTSC at 30fps) but they forgot and now I have to edit with 25fps (PAL) and 30fps. I've multi-camed the four 25 files (so the project is in and got a decent cut but now I'm trying to sync the two 30 files to the project. I've thrown them in the timeline and applied Rate Conform but it's reading the 30 files as 24s so it's applying a "24 to 25" conversion instead of a "30 to 25" conversion resulting in it being even worse out of sync...
How do I manually tell Rate Conform that the files that I want to conform to 25 are 30 not 24?
Also, is there any chance I can add the two 30 files to the multicam to make it easier to cut? Can I just add them or will I have to start the multicam file over again?

1) adding 25fps material to a 30fps timeline AND 'conform speed' will speed-up this clips, NOT make'em synch! to add 'any' fps to a project, FCPX will care, to keep a second = a second - independently of fps. Or, in other words: clips are synch automatically. 'conform speed' is e.g. to create slowmo by conforming 60fps reecording to a 24fps timeline ......
2) what makes you believe iPhone is 30fps? iOS devices offer a 'variable' fps, under low light conditions, the fps can drop down to 18fps, 15fps .... worse: vary within a clip, weird stuff like 21.67fps! I'm not surprised, FCPX identifies iPhone recordings as 24fps - most probably they ARE 24
3) before import to FCPX, I would 'convert' iPhone recordings with Mpeg Streamclip to a 'steady' clic; open recordings, repair timecode, export as prores/30fps
(and, just to mention: frame-rate ≠ NTSC/PAL ; and iPhone can not record in NTSC nor in PAL ......) -

IPod Mini works with FireWire, won't work with USB
This one's frustrating.
I have a generic P4 3.2Ghz PC running XP Pro SP2. It used to work fine with my iPod Mini. I then had some problems with usb drives, including its internal drives and the iPod. Eventually I bought the USB/Firewire cable, and all has been fine synching over Firewire since then.
I've now bought my wife a Nano, and I wanted to check (before she opens it) whether the USB connection to my mini would work (nanos not working with Firewire). Nope. If I connect with Firewire, it shows up as a disk in Windows, and in iTunes. If I connect with USB, it shows up as a disk in Windows, but iTunes can't see it.
I've Reset the iPod, Rebooted the PC (many times throughout the process), uninstalled and Reinstalled iTunes and the iPod software (freshly downloaded from Apple). Tried all the USB connections on the box, and another cable.
Any practical suggestions? If her birthday present doesn't work, there will be sarcasm

So it now works. I "just" had to uninstall the "PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller" in Device Manager. Plugged the iPod straight back in, and it appeared in iTunes.
Now to see if I have to do this every time I synch over USB - annoying as I'm saving up for a 6G (whatever and whenever it turns out to be).

If you settle a quarterly bill in full as soon as it arrives, you can then pay one-third of the regular quarterly total monthly under the Monthly Payment Plan. Settling the bill in full means that you have paid the forward charges for the next quarter, so the next 3 payments will effectively be in respect of the quarter after that. The problem with it is that the MPP has other shortcomings which will surely foul up your payments again sooner or later. Being fed up with having to sort out a balls-up every so often, I ditched my 20-odd-year-old MPP in favour of paying monthly whole bills, and to be fair it's worked seamlessly.

RayThe key to what you seem to want to do is to be able to get Apple's Time Capsule router to "join" the network that your Conceptronic router. I believe that works with some third-party routers, but I've never seen a list of those that work in such a configuration and I have no experience with Conceptronic equipment.
You might be better off with a Network-Attached Storage (NAS) device instead of a Time Capsule. -

Yes you can. In iPhoto create a Album with the photos you want in it. You can drag them from your Events folder. In iTunes with your iPad connected go to Photos by cliking on your iPad. You can then select the album or events you want. -

When I open a file from Camera Raw in PS this is smaller than the screen so I double-click with the tool "hand" to fit on the screen, but the picture loses sharpness and becomes blurry. If you magnify the image even only slightly with the tool "zoom" the picture comes back clear. In Camera Raw instead is always sharp. I solve the problem by turning off the graphics card in PS but often use plugin that need the graphics card otherwise the processing time is much longer. I ask for help.

Microphone works fine with Quictime on another mac, so I do know how to use it. The one where it is not working (A) had an external microphone and camera attached earlier, and indeed it does work with that external microphone, but not with the internal microphone selected; and (B) had RealPlayer installed previously.

Open Device manager and expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Right click on Either the High Definition Audio Device if you have the generic Microsoft drivers, or the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 if you have older Conexant drivers and choose "Update Driver Software..."
Click Browse my computer for driver software, then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Click "Have Disk..." then Browse to the folder where the drivers were extracted .......\V64 for 64-bit Vista/Win7. Click OK.
Select one of the "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221" models in the list, there will be multiple identical entries.
Click Next, and you're done.
I'm not sure which one from the list will work for You.

CS 5.5.2 Crashes when opening any project
CS 5.5.2 crashes when opening any existing projects, except a new project. I have 3 projects I'm working on and none will open without immediately crashing the program!!! I see another post with same problem, but unfortunately 0 responses. Where do
