Camera already in use

Hi
I know this has been covered, but I'm scrounging for more hacks.
I have:
1.8 Ghz Dual G5
just bought a Panasonic PV-GS 150 camcorder
just bought Tiger
tried iChat AV
chat works, video doesn't
says my camera is being used by another application
Here's what I did:
checked to see if camera is compatible (it is)
unplugged and replugged cable
turned camera on before/during iChat
opened camera on before/during iChat
upgraded to Tiger 10.4.2
trashed my Quicktime and iChat AV prefs
reinstalled Quicktime 7.0
checked my system profile--firewire port recognizes the camcorder
tried the other FW 400 port, in the back
all to no avail
what else can be done?
the fw cord works to pump video to Final Cut Pro
it's an extra from my La Cie external drive

Not active, no.
But I was paranoid, so I trashed the FC Express preferences and unplugged my Firewire drive. Why? Pure superstition. Perhaps this accounts for the incremental progress.
So I rushed into this I think, from the Mac end rather than the Panasonic end. After a little research, I realized that I might have to set my camcorder to webcam mode, and make sure it has the webcam drivers. I guess a year of plug-n-play Mac use has made me a little soft and dundering.
Unfortunately, I'm not at home, so I'm not even sure if my camcorder has webcam as a mode in the menu. From what I gather online, however, it looks like the Panasonic PV-GS 150 webcam works through the USB--not firewire, which I've been trying to use.
Also unfortunately, I need to load the drivers, but I can't...because the drivers are in the MotionDVStudio disk that is Windows-only. But perhaps the drivers are not necessary. I'll see when I get home.
Off topic: the maintenance advice is helpful, but I'm confused about registry repair. What's best--Disk Warrior or TechTools? It seems like both are having trouble with Tiger, and I should wait a bit before buying anything.

My e63 is jus a few weeks old..and i am not able to use my camera for some reason...it says camera already in use by another application and i dont no which application is tat...i tried deleting the apps tat i tought was causein the problem but the problems still there.....what must i do ?? help plz

Hi,
First make a backup from your phone, using Ovi Suite
Then follow these steps :
try a hard reset of your phone, by entering the code *#7370# -> if a security code is being requested enter 12345
if still not working, use Ovi Suite, to try and look for software updates. If no software updates are available, Ovi Suite will propose you to reinstall the current software version -> do this
If still not working, you will need to have your phone checked in a local Nokia Care Point.

I have just had a replacement IPad as the camera stopped working. Now the new iPad won't recognise my aol e mail for face time as well as my apple id. I have tried adding as a second e mail, but it says already in use

Now the new iPad won't receive FaceTime calls at my aol.com email.
If I try to add it as a FaceTime address it just says email address already in use.
I guess it is still linked to the old iPad in some way
Any suggestions? The old I pad is wiped and back in the store

Camera is in use already

I started ichat and the video chat is almost allways works=ng, and now when i ctry to make a video chat with someone it says my camera (canon video camera) is in use by anotherapplication, this seems impossible to me because no other applicatin on the dock is running, also if i press Apple+tab it shows all applications running and only ichat av and finder are running, please help me

No apple ID found AND already in use??

So I just made a new apple ID. I go to log in and it says wrong password...
I try to reset my password and I get nothing, it's been 7 hours. Then I tried to find my apple ID (using my email), what comes up says:
"No Apple ID found.
We can't find an Apple ID matching the information you provided. You may have entered a name that doesn't exactly match our records"
I try to sign up again and a message came up saying:
"This email address is already in use or you may already have an apple id associated with this email address. Please try again or sign in using your existing apple ID."
What am I supposed to do? I tried to reset my password using my email and nothing shows up in my inbox. I try to reset my password using my info and it says my birthday is wrong.

My Mum is experiencing exactly the same problem. I have been in touch with apple but am getting passed around several departments. I think in the meantime I'm going to set her up with a new email address but this doesn't seem very satisfactory.
I think some kind of email address reset is what is needed but there doesn't seem to be a useful way into the apple help system to get to the right people.
If anyone finds a way to do this, please could they share it - I for one would be most grateful.

During setup sync tells me my email address is already in use and won't let me go any further. I only have one email and don't want to setup another. How do I setup sync?

I can log into the sync account management with this URL https://account.services.mozilla.com and nothing is listed. When I go to the Sync tab within the preferences window, only two options are listed: Setup a New Account and or Pair a Device. Setting up an account doesn't allow me to use the email address I would like to, saying the email is already in use. I can't "pair a device" because the computer I'm trying to "pair" is my main computer (laptop). I used sync way back when it first came out and it seems as though there are new requirements (legal and otherwise) requiring me to setup a new account. How do I setup and use sync with the email address I have in place already without having to use another email address?

There was a major change in Sync services back in Dec 2010, but nothing w9th regards to the Username / email address and Password since that time.

What ever you may have stored on the Sync Server will be erased so you will be starting with with new data in the system.

Camera already on from lockscreen on iPhone 5c. How do I turn it off? The camera icon is running in the lower right corner and when I swipe up from the bottom of the lockscreen it brings up the camera running.

My camera is already running from the lockscreen, the camera icon is displayed in the lower right corner and when I swipe up the control center it brings up the camera first. If I swipe up again I get the control center. How do I stop the camera from staying on and coming up first?

I thought the feature was for it to be available for me to use, not to swipe up and have the camera already going. The control panel is not coming up first, it is the camera. In order to get to the control panel I have to swipe up again and the camera is still going. Annoyingly, I have had to disable the camera from the control panel so it isn't coming up first, and now it is unavailable to use quickly.

Could not save because file was already in use or left open

I am have several problems with Adobe Photoshop CS4. I call up Adobe for help, I pay 50.00 or 60.00 for their help with these situations that I am having. Adobe concludes the phone call saying they are closing the case cause the problem has been resolved. I told them it has not been resolved I am still having problems then the person hangs up on me. I call back cause the problems still persists, the tech person told me that I had to pay another 50.00-60.00 for the
tech support. I told him that I already paid and that I still need help, the tech guy told me that the case was closed cause it was resolved. I told them it was not
resolved and I am needing help with this particular issue. The tech person kept saying that the issue was resolved and if I needed more help that I had to pay.
This time I hung up on him and while I did that I said that the Apple Support Community was way more helpful and it was free.
So here I am 6 months later and tried everything, Here are the problems that I am having.
1. CS4 keeps quitting unexpectedly with no cause no error nothing. The blue light under the CS4 Ps is still lit and wont let me reopen the file, I then have to force quit the program. I then get these windows asking if I want to send a report, I click ignore cause I am tired of filling out those things. So I try to open the
photoshop file and I get the blue window with the Ps logo on it, its scanning everything but then it stops responding when the scan reaches the part where it says scanning memory and freezes. I then have to force quit the program again, I have to do this 5 times before it will open the file. Then Ps will unexpectedly quit after 2 hrs of working and starts the B.S. all over again. I dont know what is wrong with CS4. Other times it runs really slow and glitchy. It also happens on my Mac Book Pro, iMac and of course my Mac Pro.
I know its not the computers or the settings or anything interacting with it. I checked everything extensively from the terminal to permissions and back to the program itself and everything in between. I am needing help, the Adobe forums are of no use, I cant find anything there.
2. I keep getting this error and I am not sure what it is, this only happens when I use Ps CS4 and yes it happens on all my other Apple computers.
Error: "could not save because file was already in use or left open" not sure how to fixt this, I have already tried the permissions and it did not seem to work.
All my computers run OS X Lion version 10.7.3. I had these problems even before I upgraded to Lion, 2 months later after Lion came out. These problems have been going on since Snow Leopard. All my Macs are up to date and I did use the Disk Utilities on everything... Please help me.

First off are you editing a photo that you have placed into indesign if so the in use or left open issue is a common one, the only help is to go to indesign move the picture by nugging it then go back to photoshop and try saving again, if this does not work close the indesign file then save.
On the other issue of photoshop crashing, One thing I would try would be to create another user account, Start up photoshop and only it and work with it. The reason why is to see if maybe there are some 3rd party software you have loaded on your systems that might be causing the issues. "Ya never know"
I would assume you have reinstalled photoshop on lion. Do you still have older version of OSX installed, if so try booting to them and working with photoshop to see if it works there.

N95 - "Already in use" Error Message

Hi,
I've only had my N95 for a bit over a week now, and up until a couple of days ago, it was all working great! Then I went to read a text message on my phone and it wouldn't let me open the messages tab (either on the menu OR from standby mode). I can't even open it to check my settings! It keeps coming up with an error message saying "already in use!" I can no longer send OR receive messages. Since I am still able to send and receive phone calls, I assumed it was just the messages. But then I tried to use my camera. The same error message comes up! And for the music player, gallery, etc. I can still access the internet and my contacts, so I haven't lost the use of all the features only some, which I thought was really strange... I've tested my sim card in another phone and it works fine, so I tried my partner's sim card in my phone and it was giving the same error message. So it's definitely the phone... I have done all the different resets, and tried all the troubleshooting suggestions in my manual. Nothing works! Has anyone else come across this with their N95?? If so, please let me know, and also what happened to fix the problem? I can't be without my phone, so if anyone knows how to fix this problem without me having to have my phone sent back to Nokia, please help me! Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

N97 Homescreen Error - "already in use" but not ac...

Yesterday my N97 switched itself off and when it came on it would only show the menu screen and not the homescreen. If I try to access the homescreen it tells me "its already in use" and keeps diverting back to the menu screen.
All applications are working, along with texts and phone calls. Its just highly annoying.
This has occurred since the latest software update.
I have tried a factrory reset but this has not helped.
Can anyone advise?

Before attempting any other reset methods try these tips:
Whilst in the main menu go to Settings > Themes > General and change the theme to something else to see if that solves it.
If that fails try to think what widgets were on your homescreen (such as facebook or accuweather). Go to Settings > Application mgr > Installed apps now find those widgets and uninstall them if you can.
Reboot after trying each method.

Install PIXMA MG5320 on my second computor with windows 8 software/ .printer drive already in use.

I installed the printer on my wifes computor without and issues. Now I am attempting to install it on my computor. I am getting blocked in the installation point where you select all the software needed . when i hit ok it goes into the install mode but a window pops up saying printer driver is already in use. I never had a printer associated with this computor ...thisis the first. what do I do?

The reason this is occurring is because the driver bundled with Windows 8 is already installed on your computer. This happened automatically when the printer was connected to your computer through a USB cable. The installation does not overwrite this. All you need to do is uninstall the bundled driver and then this will install correctly. Please perform the following to do this:
1. On your keyboard, hold the windows key and press " X ".
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Select Devices and Printers. The Devices and Printers window opens.
4. Right click the PIXMA MG5320, then click Remove or Delete.
5. Confirm deletion.
6. Disconnect the USB cable if connected.
7. Reinstall with the disc that came with the printer.

Timecapsule message reads: "Macintosh.sparsebundle" is already in use. What does it mean and what can I do to make my Time Machine work again?

I receive the following message when my MacBook tries to run Time Machine to back up to our Time Capsule:

So now what?

I also was plagued with this problem and resolved it by physically switching off time capsule and pulling out all conections to it. Then I rebooted my imac and plugged everything back into time capsule and switched it on
This did resolve the problem but it came back the next day so I this time just switched off time capsule at the main switch and it started to work again
At this point I decided to add an extra external drive as a time machine backup
At the last point of setting up the second drive (WD MyBook) i was asked if I wanted to use this for backups or keep both
I chose both. Now my backups are alternating between the two drives. So far so good Have not seen the message again

As of yesterday (4th Dec 2012) everything was fine, no trouble or problems at all. Wake up this morning, turn on the computer and when it came time to backup itself, the message occurred above and this has prevented my time machine from backing up from this morning (5th Dec 2012) ever since then.
Everything on my computer is up-to-date but this problem still persists displaying this message practically every hour, on the hour and nothing is getting backedup!
If you know what is going on and more importantly, how to fix this, I would be indebted to you for sharing your knowledge with me on this subject.

When I came back to my computer this message was on the screen. Should I be concerned ? or doing something?

Sometimes this message means that you have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
Sometimes it happens because a device that gets its network address from the router wakes from sleep, and the address it was using before has been assigned to another device.
Rename the computer in the Sharing preference pane.
