Camera App can not be closed

When I start the camera App out of the log screen, so without really going into the menu, I can not close the camera App by the gesture, I need to put the screen into standby and then start from there again.
In the other mode the camera app just makes pictures.
Any idea how to solve it?

Yes as soon as you touch the screen it will take a picture, to close the App start by touching and sliding your finger on the word "Black Berry"

I've spent a few hours googling and trying out various things - all listed below. I give up - any ideas??? OS: Windows 8.1 64bitMemory: 32GBWebCam: Microsoft VX-7000. As per subject - the webcam works with the "Camera" app but not with Skype for desktop or for Modern UI (or the Microsoft Lifecam software for that matter). In Skype for Modern UI the webcam doesn't appear in the drop down in Settings - so I can't even select it. In Skype for desktops (version 6.11.32.102) the webcam is found but instead of image I get "Can't start video. Try closing other programs that might be using your webcam". I see from a bit of googling that various people seem to have the same issue (i.e. Webcam works with Camera app but not Skype) - so I'm hopeful someone has found a workaround / fix to this issue and I've just not had the googling skills to find it Thanks, - Matt Symes

OK - I appear to have resolved the issue. I restricted my google terms to [vx-7000 site:microsoft.com "windows 8.1"] Which uncovered this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933311 I noticed there were a couple of Windows 7 x64 specific registry settings that were mentioned so I checked these and they weren't as per the article. In fact - one of the Registry Keys was already used by other software "AI Charger+" which is some ValueAdd software that came with my motherboard. I uninstalled AI Charger+, uninstalled LifeCam driver. Reinstalled LifeCam driver in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Still not working. I returned to the registry and noticed the settings still differed from the above article. I corrected them (which involved not just amending Data but having to add new Values). I then disabled and reenabled the LifeCam from dvcmgmt.msc I was then able to get video from the webcam in the Skype for Desktop preview screen.

Next time you open the photos application hold down both of the keys suggested and then launch the application in the usual way. If you do this you will be presented with the opportunity to repair your library.

Basic troubleshooting steps right out of the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If you've been through ALL the steps and you still have the problem, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

The hp printer control app can not find my eprint email.

Here comes a "BUT" - imagine your kid playing game and getting to level 51 and have to start over from level one. Or imagine that history that you have in your CNN app. That is what icloud backup contains. My 500 scifi books are in one of the app backups and I REALLY do not want to lose it. That is what you would turn off.

I have a window titled as "unnamed window" which can not be closed. I am unable to get its PID. Neither Xkill utility and Xprop doesn't work. Xprop doesn't report anything when I click on it.

I know it was said in jest (Or I think it was), but even in the worst case, there is no need to reboot - just restart X.
I suspect the name "unnamed window" is not useful, as that is likely the window manager's default when it either cant get the window attributes, or when the window attributes contain a NULL string.
I am also guessing this is a tilingWM - is this awesomewm? I suspect this as I've seen this problem with some programs that crash after having mapped a window but before they have drawn anything to it. This window will remain in the WM's listing of windows, but it will not be at all functional. Often it will not even be "visible" - but if you have a tiling wm, it will take up a tile space.
I've been thinking of writing a little utility to remove such dead-windows.

My apps can not be opened,I already turn off and turned on my iPod 3 times... but when I touch the logo of any app it does not open, the screen just flashes.

A lot of apps now require iOS 4+ in order to work - if you only have version 3.2 and the apps that you want to sync require 4+ then they won't sync (you can check an app's requirements on the left-hand side of its description in the App Store). You either need to update your iPad to the current version of iOS (which can be done via the Check for Updates button on the devices summary tab in iTunes), or you need to find apps that only require iOS 3

Logic Remote iPad app can not find my iMac.

I have tried every thing suggested on here to try and fix this but the Logic Remote iPad app can't find my iMac running Logic Pro X.
They are on the same Wi-Fi network, I've disabled the firewall, turned on file sharing, deleted and reconnected to my Wi-Fi on both my iMac and my iPad, removed all other CS's etc etc etc. Any thoughts about anything I may not have tried?

Non iPhone camera app photos not showing up in iPhoto

When I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacBook, iPhoto only shows thumbnails of photos taken with the camera app.
Thumbnails taken with a third party app show up as empty hash border boxes and I am not able to import them. Why is this? It's dam annoying. I should be able to get hold of any images on my iPhone regardless of what app I used.
(Note photos are always stored on the iPhone in the Photo Gallery)

It's a bug, I think. Many people have reported it on the iPhoto forum, so you might search for a solution there.
See if Image Capture in your Applications folder lets you download all the photos to your hard drive. Worst-case, copy and paste them into an email to send yourself.

Lanny here are the startup key sequences on wired keyboards to know for future reference:
SHIFT - safe boot.
command-S single user mode to run fsck
command-R to run a recovery boot.
command-option-P-R to reset the PRAM on Macs younger than 4 years, or whose PRAM battery is younger.
command-option-O-F to boot into open firmware.
D key to boot hardware test on an Intel Mac - for pre-July 20, 2011 Macs, this means having the original installer discs.
Option key - Startup Manager.
Option = Alt key on Windows keyboards.
Command key may be Windows key on Windows keyboards, or cloverleaf or Apple logo key on Apple keyboards.

Updating to 8.1.2 error: app can not be found

Hi,
I updated my iPad to 8.1.2 two days ago and 77 of my apps would not download back onto on my iPad. In the update process a message had come up that I had to revert to factory settings and I could download my apps after. I complied and now receive the error: "The app was not installed on ... because the app could not be found", 77 times.
I tried to restore the apps from the iPad backup on my Mac, but I get the same message. Also tried to re-install the apps one by one from the Apps menu in Itunes that appears when I connect my ipad to my Mac, but I get the same message.
Please advise!
The point for me of having apple products is that they are quality and they work, no fiddling around required. But this has taken me hours with no result, very frustrating.

A backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings, an iTunes restore looks to pick them up from the Apps part of your library. For restoring from the cloud, have you moved countries since buying them, and if so are they in your new country's store ?
The messages that you are getting from your computer's iTunes implies that the apps files are no longer on your computer (just the 'pointers'/names of them in iTunes), they've either been deleted or they've been moved so that they are not where iTunes is expecting to find them - if you select one of the apps that you are trying to sync back in the Apps part of your library (not on the sync screen) and do 'control-I' (which is used to 'get info' about it) does it ask you if you want to try and locate the file ?
If it does then if you delete them from Apps then you might be able to redownload them (if they are still in the store) via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage. If you have changed countries then try finding them in the store and see what happens when you try to download them from the store e.g. try a free app and when you try to 'buy' it see if if you get a prompt that you've already 'bought' it and would like to redownload it - then try the paid-for apps. You can then try restoring to your iTunes backup or just resyncing them

Droid Incredable starts apps, can not turn off

I just updated my droid incredable to 2.2 froyo, the problem I'm having is that apps start by them self all the time, I go into app manager to check running apps, force stop and they still are running, draing my battery down, I can not turn any apps off. With the old 2.1 system I had advanced task killer and it worked fine, all apps shut down no problem. Apps start all the time no mater what, and I can't turn them off, Give me back 2.1. Does anyone else have this ploblem? or some kind of a solution?

Specifically for the stocks app, as long as you go to accounts & sync under settings and disable auto sync for it, it is not really taking any resources.
